The increase is going to happen. But giving it a number like 15 isn't too wise. Bitcoin price is not targeted by accurate numbers like that one you just gave. Give a range to cover your ground on your price for tomorrow such as $335~ by end of day. Something like that.

Seems to be a direct correlation with when one has to offload BTC and how the price seemingly jumps after every time you sell.
It has been noted numerous times on my end and I'm almost certain that  some individuals selling their BTC increases the overall price.
We should honestly make a study on this and see if particular users buying or selling BTC has an impact on the price.. Would be an interesting read,

I do not think mini bubble will come soon. The price is quite stable over the last 2 weeks.

i don't take in consideration mini pump, they are not telling much, they happen al the time, ther was one not long time ago, we have seen 313 and then 330 again

however they are good for professionals day traders

1. Buy 10 btc
2. Sell 1 btc directly after that.
3. Wait till the mini pump that always happens after you sell.
4. Sell 9 btc
5. Profit.

After you buy, if the price drops, will you sell?       

In other words people are purchasing Bitcoin for Bitcoin Black Friday, when the merchants go to sell their products and convert the assets back to cash we will see a temporary price dump on Saturday or Sunday

The price is still around $320. There is no direction of the price at the moment. There is no big news.

Almost 48 hours have been passed and i don't see that the bitcoin price has been increased since that time, on the contrary the price has been decreased for about 5 dollars.

Rate of BTC-USD has been stable (not really) for a few days now, rate is just going around the $318 - $335. I haven't seen below $310 lately or I might be offline at that time. Let's wait and see this coming Friday as we expect a lot of trades that happen.

We didn't see any 15$ range though. Price is going up and down in 10 dollar gap.

The price just jumped 6% today. It is quite large as the recent price is quite stable. Maybe people think bitcoin is safer than shares.

The price has dropped from $450 about a week ago. It is caused by comment from Mike Hearn.

I'd like to remind you, that bitcoin itself is one of the riskiest investments one can take atm. If you invested without taking into consideration a technical or economical break-down (including the block size theme, discussed since the beginning of Bitcoin) aka "only invest, what you can afford to lose", you are probably not a good investor - just that.

IMO everything block size related (even a split) is priced in at current prices (read bottom). If we get a solution that is followed by the majority of current investors we'll going to see a new ATH  (read moon soon). I would even go as far as to tell you, that their is no solution neccessary to get us there, as Bitcoin is "producing economic majorities^TM" for more than 7 years in a row.

All the traders believe that the price of Bitcoins will touch $500 soon. So it is the best time to buy Bitcoins because the price is really very low but yes as most of the traders are doing this it would be risky also. If there is enough demand for something like Bitcoin in the future, then it can definitely reach a very high price in let's say 5 to 10 years. I am supporting Bitcoin for the very long term. If the price indeed goes up to insanely high price levels, then I have done very well.

I believe only the upcoming halving would be the enough reason for bitcoin prices keep on raising now a days. The economic slow down around the globe may push investors to look for alternate investments like bitcoin. So, anytime we can expect price increases.

Ethereum is being pumped to insanity. The guys behind the pump have made themselfs millions in just a matter of a week or two. Not bad isn't it? Whales are not moving out of Bitcoin, they are either accumulating slowly, or simply waiting for China to light the fire.

If the Core team does not accept the new proposals from the miners and payment processor within the next 3 weeks, the bitcoin price will drop a lot.

The Bitcoin Classic just released its wallets, the price has risen from $380 to $410. So maybe the price will rise even Core does not accept new change.

I am not sure this will happen. The last halving prety much nothing happened. So it would make sense if we will see another silent halving.
Remember by the time of the halving the next generation of miners will be ready whom are more efficient.

A lot of wishful thinking in this forum. And what if price doesn't go that high as many here expect? Because, apart from halving, we don't have any positive fundamental developements that would help to spread the adoption. That is needed to attract new money, new people who are not at the table yet. No one. The last rise was purely speculative, based on the thin air not something fundamental. And the resistance at $410-415 is quite solid (as solid is support at $350). We need something important either positive or negative to move out of the horizontal channel we are currently in (the upper and lower bound I mentioned).

Dont be negative about it. But I understand you problem. I think it will rise later. But the value now is very low. And we are all not happy with it.
Maybe if you now invest in Bitcoin, then you can maybe have profit later, if Bitcoins rise up later. We all hope for that.

It does not matter if it goes below $400. It is still within the trading range of $350-$470. If it breaks $350, that is a concern.

The halving is to far a way but people are believing again in the bitcoin it will rise to a high middle price before it.
We just need to wait, it will lower a bit and than increases in the price a bit over the 430 dollar.

It won't go below $350 without major bad news. It might however still fall back to the well known $380 range. Right now it seems that exchanges as Bitstamp and Bitfinex are just catching up with China. That's all.

The best thing you should do is keep your bitcoins till the halving has been done and then maybe sell them.
Before the halving you should not sell any coins because you will regret it if the price will jump to a high amount.

The price is around $418 now. It seems the price will stay here for some time before the next rise to $500.

The situation is very dynamic right now. It looks like we managed to confirm the break out to the upside (at $415) out of the horizontal channel we were staying since the beginning of January.
Now we got above $430, and on the excitement may push it maybe to $450. I would then expect a correction to confirm this recent growth. It has nothing to do with halving, it is still too far to claim it is due to climbing. I would call it the regular speculative game, it happens every now and then, and it usually ends as quickly as it started.

The price rose from $410 to $450, not it is $410 again. The price is really very volatile. I am not a good trader.

some people can't handle the volatility and look to sell their coins as soon as they made some profit. these kind of traders never listen to any kind of advice. they just do what they think is right. if you have some patience and dedication, you will be able to make nice profits when you hold till the block halving or even longer than that. not all people can do this.

The price didn't go down to $410. It met firm support above $16 repeatedly and seems to be hovering around $420 now.

This is where we were for a half a week before Saturday's rise saw it go to the $440 range for a couple of days.

Today's dip is just the flip side of Saturday's excess. No big thing.

Would be nice if the price will stay between 400-600 for next year. Give me more time to earn some extra amounts when the price rises to high the earning will be lesser.

I do not think so. The general adoption will make the bitcoin useful. So the price will rise above that level.

They're day traders, they don't take big risks for big profits, they get out when they see opportunities to make profit and get back in when it drops and they do it several times during the week, sometime daily and make good profits.

And look at the many different coins, you can clearly see it has little effect in most cases

After the halving the price should rise to around $800, or double the present price. After the implemention of SegWit, the price could rise to $1200.

I think you're being a bit too optimistic here. The block size increase will most likely have a short term impact on the price. It will show a small peak and it will come down again. The block halving will have a long term impact on the price as currently there is more supply than real demand. The block halving will take care of that so there will be an even balance between supply and demand.

When the block size increase issue is resolved, people will have more confidence in the bitcoin, so the price will rise.

Eth is a problem for btc price, but halving is coming

Yes 450 can be some kind of barrier that is true.
But the closer we come to the halving the more likely it is we will break through it due to bigger speculation.
I could imagine some of Eth investors will also change back to Bitcoin as they also believe a halving speculation race could happen and so they don't want to miss that train.

At the 420,000th block, roughly late June to early/mid July. There are a couple of sites providing estimates: BitcoinClock (http://bitcoinclock.com/) has been very slowly drifting towards early July from late July, BitcoinBlockHalf (http://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/) is a good bit more volatile, jumping around from mid July to late June.

The price is of course going to rise. I am for sure. You can also now see that the halving is slowly coming so that will be good.
And the value is also rising now slowly so that is very good for the people who has made an investment.

Now itself this is felt. The price has not gone very high but often experiencing some increase. This increase is expected to continue as it looks to be a stable increase without much deviations.

the price rise has never worked that way for bitcoin, it just goes up suddenly. for example you wake up in the morning and open up preev.com and see the price has changed $30 and by the end of the day it can even be as big as $60 change in one day.

Have not seen a one day price increase that big before. I have seen $25-35 but that is about it.
I guess I have not been watching the bitcoin market price closely enough cause I don't trade alt coins or buy in big volume or I would definitely be watching the price on the hour every hour.
I think $60 increase in price would make the sell off make the price go lower too.

It's only when something big happens and big volumes of bitcoins are being bought/sold (Silk Auction), we can expect a big change in the price as well. Halving is a big event too but like litecoins, anything can happen in this case too.

i think you is right and now what we need is break out $500 after reach that goal price will goes high. in my view a trader not want price get high than $500 i dont know why.

Price will rise in future for sure and may be we will be seeing some good price at the time of halving, and I am sure now we will not see major drop in the price.

Halving should not affect the price too much if the usage of bitcoin does not increase. It will just be flat.

Good someone pointed it out. Many think that price will rise because of "direct" halving not even knowing that price rise will be due to those accumulators.

Halving will just make some big bubbles of speculation that will help the investors made some nice decision to buy some coins. And when that is done, price rise will eventually will happen.

Yes.. we were not excpecting that price increase so early. almost 70$ increased in only 2 days. peoples who bought bitcoin 2 days earlier they are i profit now.
I think in future bitcoin will increase more and hopefully reach 700 to 800 dollar at the time of halving.

But I really think 500-600$ is the safe zone for Bitcoins to go so far and if Bitcoin price will reach to 700-800$ well I think massive dumping will be happen because many people intend to sell by that time and maybe history will be repeat like what happen back then when Bitcoin goes to 1k$ and it followed to massive dump and the price after the dump is @ 200$ and I don't want to see it happen,  hope massive dumping will cannot affect to it's price so we are all winners if price stables at to it's high price.

Price going up with great pace and now we will experience much higher price when we are near to halving, and I don't think that there will be a major dump now.

the price can't go only up and up. i am quite sure that at some point a few major holders will cash out their profits, which is a normal thing. if the price goes only up without some time for the market to calm down a bit, then the chances of seeing the price go down significantly are very realistic.

So anyone whos wanting back in hoping the halving to see boost sales can get back in. The highest I seen was close to $800 mark which makes look current prices of $614 look very good.

That is just the profit taking. Some people think the $150 profit is good to take, so they sell and price dropped.

If you are a long term holder, there is no need to worry about the short term price. The price will rise in long term.

what you have forgotten about the price is that before that rise you are talking about price was $450 and it was "kept down" artificially. that is why it broke out and reached that high all of a sudden.

if they didn't manipulate price to stay down at $450 range it would have slowly risen to $650 up until now but a slow rise.

you are right that bitcoin increase its price in huge amount after last halving happen and it will be more growing its price and i think bitcoin will be more stronger and i hope so more people invest their money in bitcoin .

Fact is that at that point there was way more supply than actual demand with block rewards being 25BTC. It was quite an achievement that the price didn't fall down much lower. Right now with the block rewards being halved the supply and demand level are much closer to each other.

That is really going to happen that the price is going to increase and we must expect that it is really going to happen. Look at the past months, the price of bitcoin did really increased dramatically and there is no halving yet.

the price has gone up year on year after the price reached its all time high. it's great to have such a growth. some people tend to only look at short term charts and say that the price is not going up much. if these people also take the effort to look at the long term charts, then they will see that the price has gone up and up. long term growth is whats important. not whats happening in the short term.

Before halving there was much hype about price increase which didn't happen the way everyone was expecting. I think that increase will be now sometime in very near future. People were waiting too much to happen and ignore the gradual increase in last month. I am also thinking now there is some spike in price of Bitcoin is coming.

When this thread was started since then there has been a significant increase. That incoming increase came in June and already gave stability and new floor to Bitcoin. In my opinion we are not going to see a quick increase soon. It already is looking very good where current price is for some period.

It will more than likely increase because of the interest involved in this virtual currency that has taken the world by storm. Not everybody knows about it yet but when they do during the Rio games this week then it will be known by the whole population of the country of Brazil for all their shops are more to accept them for all the travelers they will have and not paying the banks any fees for those foreign transactions are too delicious to them to pass up. The halving has already done what it has promised, like the price of bitcoin was around $350 and when the time of halving came closer the price of bitcoin started to increase and when we were only a few weeks away from halving we saw that the price of bitcoin reached to $790, so that was what everyone was expecting from halving.

People aren't buying. They are either waiting for the price to go up, or they are selling because they got disappointed in the price not going up as they were hoping. It will be interesting to see how low it will go from here as it just touched $620.

I'm hoping that this recent plummet is a minor bump and just a knee jerk reaction to the bitfinex hacking incident. I was able to buy at around $540 hoping that it can hold that price, or even push back up again to $600. This short term dip could also be attributed to the Chinese ghost month which is about to start.

I don't think you will bank a whole lot of profit on this drop then rise. Unless you bought 10 bitcoins then I can see a significant about of profit being made. But if it was only 1 I can not see you getting more than $20 if you sell high later on when it comes back to what it was before the hack.

The dump is one and this is the time for the pump, we have survive the big price fall back and since the price is starting to rise again, it is a good sign already that we are going strong and our speculation will happened that the price will increase after the halving, after a hard fall will be the big rise.

There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the bitcoin. So I am still confident in the bitcoin and will buy more.

Hackers will not keep these coins in cold storage.They would prefer to sell them and probably start selling them which may be the reason behind current price fall
