Hi I would like to start mining with maybe a rig around 5 TH. I have space but my limitations are this. I need to control remotely or at least monitor (I wont live where it is set up but I will have a family member who can do some very simple things like turn it on and off)

Also my coding skills suck. I struggle with SSH but can follow very simple guides.

So I need a whole unit with everything included if its possible.

Can anyone recommend some hardware on the market?

It has 4.73 TH/s  so it's around what your looking for but the PSU should be provided by you, it won't come by the actual Bitmain company so you should save some for that as well. It's one of the best products out there.

Please pay attention to Antminer's user manual at Bitmain website.

Simple to use they have the standard bitmain GUI.  So easy to use not hard command line or anything.  So new/old miner can jump in and use it.

But it is pretty hard to beat them on price right now.   One mentioned PSU if you have 220/240 grab the server PSU off site aswell it's a good psu, and has enough PCIe for the S7.

Thanks for the info. It seams the manual is for windows however which I do not have right now. that is a shame. This means I will have to buy a lap top to contact it?

I only have Macs at the moment. Both on site and personal. What is the most simple equipment I can use to set the moneyr up?

Why don't you invest your money in cloud mining? You wont go through the hassle to setup everything, you wont have issues with the noise, etc.
The only question is, "which cloud mining service?"

Can you actually profit through cloud mining though? The reason I wanted to do this is because I can get electricity absolutely dirt cheap.

In that case, you should not think of anything else, go get your miners and start mining. Most of people have issues because of expensive electricity.
Are you from Canada? Canada has dirt cheap electricity :)

Nope I am in France but I have family in Eastern europe in a underdeveloped country where the electricity is very very cheap. The flight for me to go there is 200 usd but I can kind of mix this in with bringing new miners every time I go or holiday.

Make sure to take into consideration the noise that the hardware will make.  The s5 and s7 are loud, so for a home setup it can be bothersome, especially if you are in a small apartment, or live with other people.  Some replace the fans with quieter ones.  But I would recommend the s7 for what you're looking for.

Please don't listen to cloud mining talk.  It is already a tough enough game to ROI in bitcoin mining for most, and cloud mining is that much tougher.  With dirt cheap electricity you can pick up a couple of S7 in their latest batch 8 or 9 if you need more time, and get some server PSU's.  There are plenty of guides on this forum if you run into any problems, but they are fairly straight forward.

You can use https://www.minerlink.com/ to access your miners remotely since I see mentioned you won't always be on site. Or you can just monitor them on your pool.

This is another factor that a lot of people run into which changes what equipment they can use.  If noise is an issue the Avalon 6 is a better option than the S5 or S7.

 I have a lovely place for it/ them in a spacious secure garage. the only hurdle is getting the internet wire there :) and all the set up obviously

just a question the big mining farms are making millions. Why is that so when small farms struggle to break even?

Most of the big mining farms purchase miners either wholesale or build them making it significantly cheaper to setup.

Not at all you need to connect to it through IP.  So mac, linux, windows etc you can pretty easily connect via IP of the machine.

As far as being away look at temviewer.  It will allow you with a username connect to a computer you leave at the place of miner, can even connect via android or iphone.  And if it needed hard off/on your family could do it.

You should go with either the Avalon 6, Spondoolies Tech or Bitmain. They offer the best hardware at the moment. Not only pricewise but only towards stabillity.
But please check coinwarz.com for the calculator. If your energy cost are too high you won't get your investment back.

For me a ROI-period of 4 months max. is acceptable.

If i had to choost I would go for Spondoolies Tech, but their SP 51 is too expensive and I think you have to buy in wholesale quantities.
So the only miner left (at least one I would consider is the Antminer S7). They ship end of december If i am not wrong.

Read above my post about teamviewer.  With it you can connect anywhere with internet to the pc with it on it if set for that.

You will be able to connect to it over internet.  So the key there is having internet and a PC at home.

You could add a Rasberry pi to the mix and monitor it from anywhere, even power on and off I believe.

Also someone mentioned the noise. S7's are LOUD. I brought one home to test and I could hear it from anywhere in the
house.  Comparable to a hair dryer on high... constantly running. But more watts lol.

The big farms have big starting capital and they get good deal on electricity. Like electricity here is 0.06 residential, but big industrial setup gets 0.03$/kWh (+10$/month per kW)

They get prices on the miners in bulk, its much cheaper, they get better prices on everything, so they make better profit.

At home you can easily make money too, you just need good electricity price.

If I told you I could get pretty much  free electricity (works out like 2-3 usd per month for one of the miners), I would manually set up the machines would anyone be interested in bulk buying with me to save cost all around? I can host the farm, provide the electricity for set price of 3 usd per month. all you would have to do is buy the rigs (I will pay equally for them also) and provide technical support. As you can see I sell physical bitcoins so I guess that shows I am trustworthy. I can disclose my full identity and contact address naturally.

Anyway if anyone wants to get involved great. I can probably afford 2 S7 miners at full price so if we get a few more people we could do it that way pending how many we have to buy to get a group discount..

Or I will try 1 or 2 by myself and see how it goes :)

Its the sub board for dealing specifically with group buys. Just be careful because if you aren't here to scam people, some others, however may very well be here to scam you. So be really, really careful.

How much space are you talking about here?  Bitmain doesn't really offer much for bulk buying, and it doesn't sound like a set up that would be able to host 100+ S7. 

Would probably be better for you to just run 2 S7 for yourself, and with that cheap of power you should do quite fine!  If I knew how your set up would work we could maybe run more miners and split initial hardware costs, but would need more information.
