My prediction would be just under $350, and then it starts rising back up. It's hard to say in these situations though. Maybe it would help to look at similar crashes in the past and see how far they went down by %.

I am also quite confused, whether its time to sell panic or time to buy some bitcoin. but it looks like it will fall to $350

Price will more then likely go up again , So it's definitely the best time to buy , also this crash is probably because of the Cryptsy crap that's going on .

Honestly ? I don't see why he got so much attention , because for me ... he is just another guy who gave his opinion and that's it . If he think that Bitcoin is going to die then this is his opinion and he is free to think whatever he wants , but whoever took his words seriously and really started selling and dumping his coins is dumb IMO .

Bitcoin will die because 1 guy says so.  ..  Lol

I hope nobody dumped their coins after hearing this....

I would guess someone paid him to make that statement to upset the market and, he probably still has his coins....

Absolutely right. This is just a buying opportunity. Only panic sending is witnessed in almost every exchanges. Because $400 was a big resistance but it got broken in the first attempt itself. So, we can expect a short bounce back of bitcoin prices from this level.

I don't think it will go any lower than $380. most people seem to think that this is a perfect buying opportunity because some stuff have been settled. I personally agree with them.

I don't think price will drop under 350$ and if somehow this happens will be for temporary or short period of time because we are going towards halving of blocks and then under 350$ in no way mining will be profitable. We should expect and sudden rise in price as soon as this planned drama will be over.

I think Mike Hearn does have influence on this. If it is true he sold his coins, that should be quite an amount too. Investors do read that things, I am not saying it is all due to that, but I think it has a % of influence.

There is drama that is true, but what is going to happen next is just going to just low and than it will go back to the 450 dollars.
So is not a big deal after all, because I am sure it can go back up it won't just die is stupid.

I am hoping for a smooth recovery the comming days. Most of the people were concentrating on reaching the $500 price level, right now they need to get the $400 level back first in order to advance further.

Although to be honest I don't believe it! He will try to harm us way more!!

Yes also I think we can reach 500 dollars before the halving and that is my goal.
But I am sure that we will see more than 800 dollars after halving. Love to see a 1000 dollars.

Actually there is quite a lot of support lines between $400 and $350, so from the TA's point of view we should stop somewhere there.
I expect the first bunch of buyers to appear at $380, and then successively more as we go lower. I don't think we break $350, that would require much more efforts from the bears.

I think it's around $370 as I write this, which is back up from this afternoon.  It's been quite a weird day as far as bitcoin is concerned.

Is this price slump due to that Hearn guy's comments?  I actually haven't read what he said in full, but it seems to be that his words carry a lot of weight.

I think next rate gonna fall to 350$;). When block halving has been done then bitcoin price will be double according to the current price. may be more than 800$ as well. I advise to people to don't your bitcoins at this moment. soon price will be there in the chart.

Next support is 340 dollar, so it will take a matter of days we will get there.
I am sure the selling has started and we end up (eventually) to around 300 dollar again.

Which is still a great value for your money considering where we were last year.

There is already a rise in price and my thoughts are very positive all this is planned to get more Bitcoins at cheap rates because the event of halving is very important it will not let the price down any more once this process will be completed.Bitcoin is strong like few days ago it was.Next is a rise again to take the price back or even more higher this time.

there are actually quite many support lines between $400 and $350 and one of them should definitely stop the correction. $380, $370 and $363 are the levels to watch. In my opinion we would need something really big to break below $350.

Well it looks like you was right when you posted this. It did indeed drop to $352 on Bitfinex briefly.
My thoughts are all over the place, I have little to no idea where this is heading but I do have a feeling it was just whales creating a panic over recent news so they could stock up on some cheap coinage.
It worked and now probably a recovery back to $400.
We'll see.

It is easy to answer to this question. The price is going down? Then what? It is the first time? Naturally not. As it was happen tens of times will go again up and again down and again up. This is the story of every kind of currency. Being that traditional one or being crypto. There is nothing strange here. Especially for bitcoin there is nothing new or heavy in this situation. Who was here at that time can remember that after the crack of MtGox the price fall from about 12000 us dollar one bitcoin at about 100 us dollar one. And stayed there for months. Comparing to that situation this one is a joke. What are for bitcoin 60-70 us dollar down?  Nothing. And already is giving signs of "back on itself". There is since yesterday that is stable and even with an easy up. Before, this situation comes after one month... So nothing was happen.. One ordinary day like all the days of bitcoin. Needed some other days end everything will be story...

while there are always many factors that cause the exchange rate of btc to "old type money" like euros, dollars ect.... to bounce around  when you consider the amout of bitcon total value is a tiny percent of the value of 'all'    estimates of the entire old style world money supply .....some ideas come to mind

(i feel the market share metric is not an ideal way to measure 'value' but it is probably easiest to discuss assuming market share was real and if all bitcoin that exist were sold instantly the amount exchanged would be this figure)

recent events in bitcoin trends show that many external companies that focus on payment systems and other technology along with several traditional financial sacred cows are investing resources to attempt to shape the future development of bitcoin in a way that would be an advantage to their future plans or products that involve btc (whatever theose plans are)

some large financial institutions , many of which are global corporations have access to so much 'money' for investment purposes it would be a drop in the bucket to their bottom line for them to gradually purchase bitcoiin and for several of these players to hold a lot of btc

even if these parties are not working together to intentionally manipulate the exchange rate of btc there is no real way of knowing how many holders of bitcoin are well enough backed to sell bitcoin intentionally at a loss just to drive down the price

this is of course somewhat difficult to prove but to anyone paying attention to pending regulations, pending development of bitcoin and other events in the bitcoin world (like shills who are trying hard but fail and run away after being unable to push wall street agendas to cause permanent changes to the bitcoin source code which most users and miners of bitcoin do not agree with but would benefit the wall st crowd) I think it easy to conclude those who currently control the 'creation' of money world wide don't really want bitcoin around unless it is going to fit in their existing systems and they can get a piece of the action.

so what will happen next

expect continued market manipulation of the exchange rate of btc up and down by parties who have such resources available and motivation also.  I hope I am wrong but I can imagine this bouncing around for several years......

I dont see the price doing any large swing in the next week or so. The most likely outcome from now (383$) is it settling somewhere between 370 and 390 and being extremely boring for quite a while.

I do foresee some big movements in this upcoming week, like testing $500 levels again. World stocks are trading in red. Gold is on uptrend. So, bitcoin will join with gold.

We could have gone back easily to 300.

There is near 0% chance it will test 500$ in such a short span of time right after the friday's blood bath. Historically, it takes quite a long time for price to recover and stabilize after this kind of news. So probably going to be the same pattern - boring for a while, maybe even longer than i expect.

Didn't the price zig-zag before every large bullrun ? None the less, there's no point in arguing since noone knows what the market will
decide to do next, it's so unpredictable and volatile, but i'm guessing this is only the beggining of yet another attempt of manipulation.

Not one big price drop all at once, that would mean something very wrong has happened. And it seems that anything relating to bitcoin is on hold at this time and has not been revealed in the news yet. Cryptsy, Russia banning it, China economic meltdown hence all those mines lost all those are in limbo and nothing has happened there yet.

Yes they have been sued so more facts will be exposed during the court hearings as the judge would like to know all and everything about this company and it's procedures while it's business is still running.
I would assume the judge would like to throw the book at them for as many faults they have done and as many they can find in open court.

Four days after and seems that your prediction is yet away. Even, the price is stabilized for more than two days and seems to not have in mind to move from this amount. Few less or few more but around the 380 but seems to be fixed here. If it will be not some other Mike Hearn who can tell other important things about its weaknesses (so that are new and not repetition of the revelations of Mike) I don't see any reason that bitcoin can go to that amount. Even bitcoin in unpredictable and with it is more than true the expression "never say never" I don't think that will arrive at that amount. Lets wait the days to came.

I think now $400 is the magical barrier we have to break.
I hope we won't need several attempts like with 300.
Will be interesting to see how long we have to wait before we see some new action.
Right now it looks stable and very quiet.

i think it will be more difficult to reach $400 again than it looks. people expect it to go over $400 again very soon, but we first need to add buy support to catch all the dumps. otherwise we'll end up going back to $370-$380 for a week or maybe even more.

I guess the price will touch the old low soon, or maybe a miracle will happen and we see it go up again.
What was that old low that you are saying that it was. You mean from this time last year  :D
I highly doubt that but it has gone down $10 in the last 4 hours since I bought some, regretting it now  not waiting abit longer to have done that.  :-\

I would sell right now as the price has rose in the last two days but the price is leveling off.
Someone has mentioned it will drop in the coming week back to $360 so if you have a lot, sell to be on the safe side, then buy more in a week with you profits  ;D

I think there is no any reason currently to fall. The price of bitcoin is volatile and always fluctuating. Still, we can hope for a consistent rise in the up coming days due to halving as the prime event. Let's hold our bitcoins tight and wait.

Kind of sad but that's how it is.

Yeah, we are expecting bitcoin price to get low this weekend, lets just hope that it bounce back to $400 sooner this week,   :)

The price has fallen but it won't hit that bad for a long time, the value would soon get increased and think that the value won't cross the bottom barrier 350$. This can be expected by people planning to buy for their long term investment.

the price of one bitcoin is lower than 400 at this moment and it can keep on dropping at a very fast pace if we would switch to classics from core so i would be pretty careful about deciding on whether to buy some bitcoins or not

If the Classic wins, the price will drop fast. So the Core should adopt the 2MB as soon as possible after through test.

Right now the price is not important.
What's important is how we solve block size issue. It makes no sense there is no solution yet.

I also think it will be worth more later.

But it grows very slowly and I think that it will last very long.

i like this stability as i am buying around $100 worth of bitcoin each month. with this stable price i can get the same amount of coins each month. if the price goes up then you will get less coins for your money. that's why i don't mind seeing the price stay at sub $400 prices for some more months.

It is in fact becoming increasingly popular and more often.

The price is below $400, it has been quiet stable around the 375$ margin for a long time. This may be a initial step for the growth of the bitcoin. From this value it may start increasing in the price.

You simply wait calmly and see what happens. If the price is still low then you just wait and keep quiet.

It has been like this for ages. I don't know Bitcoin any different. But I guess we'll see the price rise to $460-$470 before seeing another dump like we have today. The sentiment right now is great which might push the price even higher if everything goes well.

There are possibilities to stay around the range of $400 - $420 as the price has crossed $400.
Even there are few chances to reach the $450 barrier in a short time. The reason is it decreased
in a three days time so might increase in the same time period.

yes a little bit stability is occurring there but I think now it will start to go up from $420 , as peple now has more beleive on it and they are actively adopting it, which is a positive point for the bitcoin and a strength giving point for it.

Why only $450? Price may accelerate as high as $500 before the halving as many of us will be holding our coins and will be waiting for the halving to happen.. but again, maybe after the halving a huge dump of coins may happen which I think would make a resistance for the price to climb higher..

It is hard to say, but I think that the value will not rise for a long time and that we have to wait a long time for a good price increase for Bitcoin, and that we also need some patience for it.
You can see that the value is now stable and that it is not even moving and that is ofcourse not that bad, but it would be nice if it is going to rise soon so we can all sell it with a good profit and make us happy.

Bitcoin is a currency and that is impossible to predict so we have just to wait and see.

At this moment, there is still a chance for bitcoin to drop low, but with many people speculating about halving and keeping their coins, I think we may go down that low but not for long and the chance is very small..But even when it drop, many will still be happy as it is an opportunity to earn more..

No matter how high the price rises, people with less money will always have the chance to buy BTC. They will get less for their money, but that applies to people with more money as well.

1 BTC is subdivided into 100 000 000 satoshis, and even these could be further subdivided in the future.

Saying that people with less money don't have the chance to buy BTC is like saying people with less money can't buy land because the cost of 1 acre is too high. Obviously people can - and do - buy less than 1 acre. Obviously people can - and do - buy much less than 1 BTC. If the price of 1 BTC rises by 5% everyone holding any BTC makes a profit (on paper) of 5% - regardless of how much BTC they hold.

That's right, we don't think that Bitcoin's price will drop again at least in the nearest future, however it's expected that it will increase highly after the next halving, so holding coins nowadays could being profitable.

You will make a lot money, but only if you also have a lot coins and a lot patience. If you have both, then you will make more than decent profits if you hold your coins for the long term.

I have very few coins. But I have patience. I believe the bitcoin price will rise a lot in the next few decades.

Patience is a virtue. I hope that the price will go up more so we can find finally a value which comes more to what's bitcoin is worth. It's a long time since the good old days' in 2013

That's right, you don't have to rush. Just wait for the halving to come while we are waiting for it. Price is pumping so it will gets higher and higher while waiting for it.

Price goes up, price goes down, regardless of what happens between now and the halving we will be seeing a lot of people start buying, and once the miners start adjusting to the new value, it will likely get to a fairly stable price for a while.

Expect a neat upwards trend for the next few months, and possibly a rush when we're on the border of the halving.

My guess is that after the rally before the block halving, there will be a good dump created by people cashing out their profits. I expect serious amounts of volatility 1 month before and after the block halving. Great for traders who like to trade on days with high volume and several decent price swings in a day.

There are a lot of people that is negative about the value and that is bad because they need the patience for it to wait a longer time until the value will be more and that is nice.
But of course you are not sure what is going to happen with the price and it is always risky to make a decision.

what you are quoting is an old comment and if i am not mistaken the drop by that time was because of the FUD which was spread by hearn and the price was pushed below 400.
right now it looks strong and the chances of drop gets lower every day.

That's right, we don't think that Bitcoin's price will drop again at least in the nearest future, however it's expected that it will increase highly after the next halving, so holding coins nowadays could being profitable.

The price is $444 now. It might drop below $420. But it will recover soon as the demand for bitcoin is growing.

The bitcoin price is over $465 now. It seems it has broken the recent trading range. A pump started?
yeah, people pumping right now the price as much as possible and i hope it wont stop any time soon, lets hope i will make a lot of money out of that without any efforts

Yes they have been sued so more facts will be exposed during the court hearings as the judge would like to know all and whats more everything about this company  while it's business is still running.

I do not think so. There is no specific news to drive the price up fast. It will just rise very slowly in the next few months.

The price is still around $450. Every time the bitcoin price wants to break $460, it was push down. Do not know why.

Just a normal move. Those push are just for a show to make profits while halving effect doesn't yet established. So in order to take profit with that kind of move, take a ride. No worries whales will come before halving I believe and will shake up the bitcoin price.

Bitcoin price has decreased a little from the past but by the coming days price would go high and won't go lower to $400. Even if price goes below $400 the price would sustain around $385 for a long time.

The price goes up to $458 and that is not low, still a good sign of bitcoin is getting tough enough and don't be troubled if bitcoin goes up sometimes
and goes down, it is just normal because it is decentralized.

We all know that it was stable indeed for a long time and that is bad because the most people are of course hoping that it will be more worth but the bad thing is that we cant control it and that is the problem.
But the halving is coming soon so that is perfect but we dont still know how long it will reach and that is the risky thing of Bitcoin.

Yes if ever. But you know price above $400 is really sustainable now with the help of price rise speculation that halving will bring. If ever all expected price will happen before halving, then we won't see $400 range now.

The value of Bitcoin is not that low now and the value is also going to be more worth so that is nice but it will takes a longer time until the value will be more worth.
So we need the patience for it to sell the Bitcoin on the right moment.

I think the price will rise slowly to $500 just around the halving. It will then rise again due to the halving effect.

We are playing in a duration of above of average $30 these past days, how come it was stable?

When the price move like this it's better to consider if you want to buy or not since expect some price rally after some slow rise.

The halving has already done , and now we are waiting for the effects of halving and after then you can say that the price will be around $700 or $800, if the price this time started to increase then I will say it will cross the value of $1500

Yup this could happen very rarely, the price is not low to my sense, it is stable now and this $650 range may continue for 2 to 3 weeks and after that we can see a good move in price.
