Are you good at riddles? Are you a fast typer? Or just a user that wants BTC? If yes.
Then this site is for you! A new method of gambling. If you are smart at riddles you can basically win tons of BTC.
You can even enter before the contest begins. Every day a new contest occurs at 8PM EST. If you want to buy in an entry right now you can. Don't wait till the last minute because bitcoin transactions take time to go through. Once you do buy an entry you simply wait till 8PM EST and then a riddle will be up. The first person to solve it? Gets all the BTC!
So what are you waiting for? Try it now

Features:
Simple deposit.
I make no profit.
See how many people your competing against.
See the pot amount
See when the next riddle contest starts
See how it works. Check out the demo.

How this works:
The pot will always start at 5$ Even if no one enters. I'll be taking money out of my own pocket for now. Every player that buys an entry adds 0.50$ to the pot. Then at 8PM EST a riddle will appear and the first person to solve it gets all the money. And yes sometimes your answer may be not exact to the actual answer. But thats why i've implemented a similarity algorithm. If your answer is at least 90% similar to the actual answer. You will get it correct. Then simply enter your BTC address and your done!

Why am I doing this:
I love riddles. And theres a gap between btc gambling and riddles. I just hope people share the same passion as I do. Solving riddles!

How can we know if this is legit? Like seriously? A newbie poster from out of nowwhere comes with this awesome cool riddle game. A second newbie poster whose very first post is to say, Yay, I won two times in a row.

And OP states he makes $0 profit.

Really?

Cool and innovative idea you have for a new site. However there is some questions here ...

The pot start at 5 USD, where do the 5 USD came from?

How will you earn profit from the site - through advertisement(s) that will be placed in the future?

How can we be sure that you will not fake the winner?

Innovate idea, but you should post past riddles, people to see what is actually happens on your site.

The Idea and Concept is very good but the way the OP has presented is fishy feeling scam, because he states that its zero profit site , and also tells that what ever the users deposit go to the pot and the pot is minimum $5 then how come he gets $5 when their are not so much users to this site.

If anyone correctly handle this site or anyone come with this concept with clear way then he can earn a very good and it can be very profitable and get famous like gambling sites.

People can still somewhat believe the owner if he/she said that the profit will come from advertisements. However, starting pot of $5 sound very suspicious.

He is probably trying out the interest. Once the volume on the site increases, he will probably be placing adds or taking a percentage of the pot. It could also be that he just likes to present riddles to people.

Also about the 5 USD starting pot, if I'm correct if only 10 people enter it will not cost him any money as the 5 usd guarantee is reached. Or is the 5 added anyhow?

Hmm good point. Well how this works is it doesn't pick a random winner. This isn't lottery. You just have to answer the riddle. It will do a similarity test. if your answer is at least 90% similar to the riddle then you win and it will display a form. This is all done with PHP. But how would I prove it is legitimate. I know its hard to believe because i'm new. But why not try it out once? I'll also be giving away free entries sometimes. I'll be paying for them ofc. I don't make any profit because I don't want to. The pot always starts at 5$ and every person that enters adds 50 cents. I don't take anything from those 50 cents. The 5$ comes from my own money. I have around 250$ in bitcoin so for now i'll simply be losing money.

Let me explain. This is what i'm doing right now. I'm starting the pot at 5 dollars. Then every person that enters will add 0.50$. I actually lose 5$ USD per game. But this is just because the game is new. I don't want to take any percentage from the pot. What if only 2 people enter? The pot would be at 1$ and that would be boring. But a 6$ pot would be interesting. Until this site becomes fairly popular I won't be taking anything from the pot. After it does become popular I'll most likely take a very small fee to not lose money.

Looks interesting .. BUt you have mentioned .. 0$ profit for you .. Now i doubt.. any previous games payout or something ? Proof I mean?

I will be adding the blockchain transaction's + the riddle to the winners list. So you know how they won and if the money was sent.

This site is new man. Don't worry. I have 250$ to giveaway until this site becomes popular. I don't want to put ads. Because ads are horrible and make the site look disgusting. When the site becomes major id most likely take a small fee or something to not lose money. Keep in mind my goal here is not to gain money. Its to get people to love riddles more.

Innovate idea, but you should post past riddles, people to see what is actually happens on your site.

Will be doing that right now. Will also be adding blockchain txid's as proof of payment sent.

Hate to surprise you but guess what. It is true. I make -5 profit every game. Not 0$ profit. For now thats just how its gotta be. I need people to find out about this site.
Try it out once. Its a 50 cent entry fee. I know i'm new but this site is legitimate. I'll even be posting proof of payment on the winners page.

Solving riddles for Bitcoins is very good idea but I don't like sites where you should pay something before you can even enter.

OP, if you want your site popular you should change this. People should have an option to try it for free.

How would I do that? This is a contest that takes place every day at 8PM. So once you do purchase an entry you will be able to win. If this site becomes more popular the contests can be held every 30 minutes. But. How can I let people try it for free? Make like a demo page that doesn't actually credit you anything just so users could see how it would look like?

I think you should utilize previously used riddles and create a free demo for potential customers from them. I would like to try it, but I have no idea what your riddles are.

Little skeptical about it but not saying anything right now, let's see what becomes of it, the things I'd suggest is add a countdown to the next riddle, the 24 hours wait maybe too long, so maybe bring it down to 8 hours, so there can be 3 riddles every day and you also need to show how many tickets were bought for the next riddle and how much the Pot grew because of that.

Demo has been added. Countdown will be added shortly. 3 riddles every day will be possible if this site gets more users. I'll be adding how much the pot grew and how many tickets were bought in a sec. Thank you all for all the wonderful suggestions.

Alright, so how will players be able to verify the game is legit? As in how do we know you aren't giving the answers to one of your friends or a shill/alt account prior to posting the riddle?

Your gonna have to trust me on this until someone from here wins. For example if someone who is reputable on here manages to win I mean that can kind of serve as proof. I mean maybe even you can win if your just good at riddles. If you want just try it out. Its only 50 cents to enter its nothing major and you could possibly win. This isn't randomly generated or anything like that so there isn't any specific algorithm to prove it. I mean I'll be making up the riddle so I'll already know the answer. Unless.... Maybe I can implement some kind of random riddle function. For now your just gonna have to trust me but i'll try to figure something out so you can at least have some sort of proof to go from.

I like the premise behind the site, and understand that it takes money to make money (i.e., losses in the beginning for the overall welfare of the site). But what is your plan for monetization later?

I'll simply take 1% from the pot. And thats that. Contest is starting in 30 minutes. Only one person is entered. If you want. I recommend you join in now. You have a huge chance of winning because you will only compete against one other person.

Hmm. How about I credit you for the next round. On me. Thats really strange through. The answer was A coffin. if your answer was "A coffin" it would have accepted it. Your answer simply has to be at least 85% similar.

Yeah, I don't understand what happened either, but it's a little frustrating not to win. The 3rd time I tried it told me that the puzzle had already been answered, so I know my answers were going through. Can you check the game logs and see if something messed up or if I did something wrong?

And I appreciate the credit, I'll use it tomorrow and give this one more try.

The winner was:
13PkoCXFNqaqpY7a4bqjJrXxygdVQjKNBa

That was the first official recorded BTC address.
Even if you submit first. The person that actually gets the BTC is the person that submits their BTC address first. This round was the closest round in history. Literally you guys were milliseconds off.

Great. I p'med you a redeem link. I feel bad for you man. Maybe you misspelled it too much not sure. But i'll be making the riddles up myself now. Just to make things more interesting :) + I want to prevent close incidents like this. This was just way too close. Not even kidding milliseconds off. I've sent BTC to the address that was recorded first.
I know, but it wasn't the wrong answer. I put "A coffin" and "coffin", and both times it told me it was the wrong answer. I've heard that riddle before, so I know it's the right answer. Looks like the last time I play on here :(
Hmm. How about I credit you for the next round. On me. Thats really strange through. The answer was A coffin. if your answer was "A coffin" it would have accepted it. Your answer simply has to be at least 85% similar.

I answered "Coffin," and it was accepted. Almost 100% sure that's exactly how I typed it.
That works too. Like I said theres a similarity test. 85% similar at least in order to be accepted. Yours was more than 85 so you were accepted. I don't know what happened with EngiNerd. The system works fine for me. Worked fine for ranlo + the other guy apparently. I'll be checking logs in order to see what happened.

Does it require deposit before we can participate to solve the riddle? I love riddles but paying for this challenge is stopping me trying it. I can get lots of free riddles now a days.

Understandable that you are going to attract people to your site first before making some money from the pot. However, the game is not truly fair. I know this is not a lottery like my site and hence it cannot use a method to select a fair winner. From what I know, the winner is the one that give the correct answer (similar by 90% to what you set) within the shortest prior of time. The loophole (to the participators) here is that there is no way to determine who give the correct answer first.

It is fair. There is a way of knowing who is first. How is there not a way? Simply. The first person to solve the riddle and enter their BTC address is the winner. And I am able to determine that.

You win BTC for solving riddles. Therefore there is a 0.50$ deposit fee but that just goes towards the pot.

I love riddles, especially if there is a BTC prize attached!

What if instead of doing it the way you are now, you created riddles where the answer was actually a brainwallet?  That way you wouldn't have to worry about who answered it first, or if they answered it with 85% correctness.  They would have to answer it exactly right, and whoever swept the private key first would get it.

I'll think about that idea but for now I'll most likely do this for now. Its a good way to determine who won and I know exactly who won first.

Funny concept but I think you need to work on your site, and maybe get a free mode of the game, for users to test it out.
Also there are no examples on the ridles we will find etc. Maybe having a section with solved riddles, along with the free mode would help.

Finally how do you guarantee that the game is fair?

Click on the winners list. there is a demo that is the free version. Yesterday a user from here already won. There is no 100% way to guarantee it because its lottery but why not try it for 50 cents? Its not like your investing 10,20, or even 50$.

It is not fair in the sense that your "players" will not know who answered first. How are we, as the player, know who answered the question first? You, as the administrator, said you can determine who answered first and that is because you have access to the database. We, as the player, do not have access to the database. Even if the player have access to the database, this game is not provably fair at all. Simply because you can edit the database to your gain.

You will need to come with with a method to determine who answered first while the public can also agree with the method.

Wow, very interesting. I like puzzle games and a large fortune if I get gifts offered in the game.
What if instead of doing it in a way you are now, You make a puzzle for which the answer is really brainwallet? That way you don't have to worry about who answered first,. They have to answer that, and anyone's private key the first sweep will get it.

Q. What question can never be answered with "Yes"?
A. Are you asleep?

Another variation on this answer that would be correct (but wasn't what the website was looking for) would be: "Are you dead?"

I'm guessing it's not in the history yet because it hasn't paid out the prize?

I don't know if i'm going to keep this up if no one is interested in it :/ Your actually the only person entering. :/

And I'm sorry to hear about the lack of activity and interest, and if it's just me I definitely don't want to unfairly take your money  :( I bet it's really hard to compete for views with all the other bitcoin sites out there, but I thought your site was different enough to have a chance. Have you thought about trying some ad campaigns on mellowads? Or maybe have a ref bonus or some other incentive for players to invite friends and continue playing?

(btw, I just see a "test" string on the site now... if I'm the only player registered right now, feel free to just return my entry if you won't be posting anymore riddles)

I'll be deciding what to do. Your entry will be transferred to tomorrow's riddle challenge. You are correct. You are the only player registered. I don't have the money for ad campaigns. I'm already giving away money for the riddle contests and that doesn't help. I've lost all hope for now I guess. I'll still be running a couple more riddle challenges. Hopefully people will be interested. But i'm slowly losing hope for this site. As every day passes by. I thought it was different too. :(

That's why I mentioned mellowads since they have a daily faucet you can put towards network campaigns. Might be something that's worth starting to build up a balance there for you to use, either on this site or any future ideas you might have :)

A well designed website will be a huge plus. How it was it was just a blank page with text, that may put some people off as it does not look very trustworthy (e.g. low effort put in trying to get people to send you money).

Maybe you can try contacting one of the established betting websites / casinos and ask if they would like to implement something like this. That way you can probably even start earning  a few % on the plays and you get instant traffic. May not be what you had in mind though.

Any update on this? You continue to hold my bitcoin for an entry I was never able to use. While it's a small amount, and while I certainly don't mind if I lose it, it's still something that might be looked upon as a bit scammy by other users.

Yep. changing message. I actually believe i'll be done today. I was on vacation for a while too. Decided to go to Orlando.

Update:
I basically re-coded the backend. There was a problem with PHP not recognizing payment and a couple other problems. For now i'm not changing the design. Site is back up.

The riddle in its first usage wasn't supposed to be a true riddle, but on the website here the answer was, "Because Edgar Allen Poe wrote on both of them."

An alternative answer could be, "Because they both stand on sticks" if you want to be clever about it. I'm not sure how OP chose the answer there - did you have a straightforward single answer for that question?

Well my guess was "Both have the word N in them"
