Hi all Bitcoiners,
i am interested in your opinion will bitcoin price go up or down after the Halving?
Selling now or after halving?

I was thinking about the price behaviour for about two day's (at halving) and im really still not sure yet
I guess no one is,it is really hard to predict.But most people among this forum expect it to rise just after halving,so probably it will happen like that,i also think this way.

It's going to be business as usual. I think manipulators may have a go at making a move. Whether that does much depends on how enthusiastic their victims are feeling.

I am sure.  First, it will go up a little.  Then, it will go down a little.  Then it will go up.  Then it will go down.  It will keep doing this for a very long time.  Probably until the next halving.  After that, I am not sure what will happen.

don't expect anything major. Bitcoin is not a shitcoin where a single person can pump and dump the market.

Also keep in mind: Everybody knows about the halving. It's not like actual news. Therefor expect everybody having a long position going into the event expecting it to do something.

Anyways here is what I have to say regarding this topic.
First of all I will be happy as this whole halving event is over.
We had threads like this coming up almost every day, and I don't understand why people can't just continue posting there instead of opening another one.
Furthermore I don't expect any big happenings from now on and also not after the halving.
We might go down or move up a bit.The range will be $600-$700.
The next big run will happen with a delay of a few months.Late Q4 could be the next take-off imo.

No. There's absolutely no reason for that to happen. In a few months? Perhaps. It's not an instant deal.

gentlemand is right,you cannot expect that halving is something magic that just make's price shoot's up for no reason,no that is not going to happen.
We can see rise of btc price at and after halving,but it is not anything strange,probably a small rise,but we can think that in next 2-3 months it might get there.

If bitcoin will do increase its price I am guessing this sig camps will be lowering the payment. (devil's face)  We have seen a lot who does that.

Since it will make our lives much more difficult i think the price will go up ! but  we really cant know.. we just have to wait and see..

Let's just say i wouldn't want to have my life saving invested during this event, that would just be too stressful.
Nobody really knows what will happen to the price so just like any other time only invest what you can afford to lose.

We will see the halving impact on the price of bitcoin before the halving day say 1 or 2 days before halving . I guess that the price will increase to 750$ and nothing else . Many people are guessing that the price will hit 1k$ well it will not happen. We have to wait and see .

depends on the price, but i will probably sell some coins before the halving and observe the price after the halving.
there's a chance that the price of bitcoin will go up or go down after the halving, it is better to save some coins for
what's gonna happen after the halving.

I worry about that so I sell some coins today when the price is down  :(

just like another people's opinion,i'm honestly expecting the price to be rising a lot but seems the price now getting down and down even a little bit but periodically and continuously,i know the halving weren't started yet but the start or the beginning will give affect too,maybe it potentially drive people to sell before halving

If you are really interested in knowing the opinions,you would not have to start another thread.You could simply peep into one of the 100 threads that already exists in various section.Before we proceed,do you know what exactly is bitcoin halving ? Share your knowledge with us maybe ? I doubt you are actually seeking any comments here apart from the shit posts from signature spammers.

what is accurate date is halving bitcoin, my opinion after halving bitcoin price up, maybe after one day, a week , or month,
posibility several hour or damage halving bitcoin is same brexit poundsterling

i also worry about that though i think selling coins is not a good decision to make especially when the price is going to grow at a very rapid pace in my opinion though thats just my thoughts

I don't think we will see major price hike at halving  as price is not ready to move up at a moment, but may be after few days of halving it will start to go up again.

with the halving there has already been a lot of hype and that alone will cause a rise. also the supply will be reduced daily and it can also contribute to the rise a lot.

i will only sell if the price goes up twice the current value. otherwise i will keep holding my coins for the future and bigger rises.

I only have what I've earned from bitcoins and a little bit from exchanges (nothing over $50 worth) so I definitely don't have a ton riding on the price of bitcoins but at the same time if they dropped in value I would feel it! Based on the fundamentals I'd have for assume the price will continue to rise over the long term. I feel like the big pump is over and done with.

i think the price is going to jump for sure, a lot of people will be buying their bitcoins thus in this way they will be able to push the price up significantly in short period of time i think

I think the price of Bitcoin would go up after the halving, so i think it would be better to sell afterwards. I backup my claim with the graph statistics for the last halving event; so therefore if everything go quite well it should be similar to what happend then. Supply and Demand should bring the value of Bitcoin to great hieghts soon :)

i think bitcoin price can go both ways, and there is no way of telling which way for sure. but this is only for right after the halving because there will be a lot of excitement and panic at the same time.

but a while after it things will settle down and price will rise above all our expectations.


i have to see the price to decide. i maybe selling some if there is a sudden rise and buy back if there is dip but we will have to see.

Since the member still holding their bitcoin , the price is stable and not having any movement.
But let's take a look after halving , i think the price is slow rising up after halving.

of course the price is going to go up after the halving event because in my opinion people will be buying bitcoins like crazy in order to make as much profit as possible after the halving

I don't know why some of you would make trading decisions based on things we have no control over.  All the info we need is the price.  If it's going down, we go short, if it's trending up, we go long.  Simple.

Basic economic theory says it should go up. Markets are fickle although. We shall see.

Long time expectation to experience halving is gonna get ended. Sure price hike happens on halving, even during past halving everything happened in a short time when no one expected. So lets hope for the best to happen.

It's just my opinions and I think no one can answer this questions. well, we can see in some market or exchange site, the bitcoin price is always going down for now but I'm sure if the going down of bitcoin price is the impact from whale because they want to buy a lot of bitcoin before halving is coming.

Saturday.   Is there something happening on the 18th too?  That's the date that stuck in my head for some reason.

I don't expect anything major to happen,  but I was wrong about this before.  My predictions are just chatter.  I'll definitely be watching.

what a coincidence i also have to give big presentation on coming saturday so i may miss the halving drama. I really like to see reward halving looking at the last block of 25 bitcoin reward but i don't think i can.  :(

i think the chance of price going higher is a lot more than it going down. so i expect the bitcoin price to start going up after tha halving and continue until it reaches the last higher price of $1200

Just sit back relax and enjoy. you don't have to decide whether to dump or buy more bitcoin after halving.
what you can do with the btc at hand as of now is to buy a coin that you are trying to support. this could be a safer way to store the value. if btc drops, some altcoin stays still like WAVES.

i don't have any opinion or any prediction and speculation about the halving i am just getting excited to what will happen after the halving i will watch for it and wait for some changes in any activities of bitcoin .   ;D

My opinion is that halving day is just going to be another day, nothing exciting is going to happen on that day rather than any other. Nothing will happen price wise until at least a few weeks after the halving but your probably talking more months. If anything there will be a slight drop from the weak hands expecting to make a quick buck buy selling at the halving. thats not going to happen though.

I felt a couple months ago that not too much will happen.  I thought maybe a surge to 1000k and then a significant dump but now I think it could maybe go to 800 tops - pure speculation thought, DYODD.  Look back to the halving of Litecoin last year you will see that it did not significantly rise like expected..  While volatility with Bitcoin is exciting, stability means it is becoming a respected contender in the financial arena.

majority people will predict that bitcoin prices will increase after halving and some people has suggest to holding bitcoin and sell it after halving dates however seems the prices stuck at $637-$670 since several days ago but in my opinion we will see the prices above $700 and selling after halving might be good for you

I don't know what would be my opinion about this because I am thinking all about its effect and what would be the result after the halving I have an idea but also I dont have any speculation or prediction myself , well but I am also excited for that ;D

Oh by the way, the price is currently plummeting.   It's at 616 as shown on mycelium, which uses the bitstamp price.  People are cashing in.

I think that the block halving day the bitcoin price is down
you can see now the price is down to $620, but after the block halving the price will rise slowly.

Bitcoin is unpredictable and we dont know what will happen after block halving if the price of bitcoin will increase or not.. instead decreasing the price..
So i think its better to wait after block halving because its risky if the price of bitcoin will decrease below 600 value..

We are due for a massive rally well above the all-time highs.
The halving will have a small effect compared to what will happen when many millions of people realize they want a rare chance to own at least one whole Bitcoin.  :)

You can sell the bitcoins any time if you can, but what I'm doing is that I am going to hold the bitcoin for more few months if the price is going to be increased a little bit. Since the price of bitcoin is lower than it was yesterday then I expect that the bitcoin price will be increased. People who are in hurry and are inpatient sell the coins and maybe sometimes they are right.

i will wait halving to sell my bitcoins  ;)

Its impossible to predict what the market will do, i supposed that i will go up till halving (and now is going down), and first days after halving going down. But sell if you need the money, and wait for higher prices in months or few years if you don't need now the money.

Yeah same here and i think the price will go up even we are seen that the price is decreasing these days the price still can be increase more after block halving.. so better to hold your bitcoins tightly and dont spend it or sell it right now or you will regret soon.

I thought that the price will rise just before the halving which didn't happen as expected, after the halving i don't think it will rise shortly after it, it may takes few days before..

Due to the supply of bitcoins declining, there is a possibility that the price may rise and even the number of miners would decrease. Well, in the case of bitcoins, anything is possible. The speed at which the price rises, it drops even faster than that and hence I don't get why people get so much affected with the unstability when it has been going on for years.

I will not sell or buy, I`m just doing same thing I always do. Halving is important day for bitcoin, and in my opinion price should rise in next few months, of course its just my prediction, optimistic one. Cutting block rewards will decrease income, and in economy when that happen and demand stay the same price should rise, I expect demand to increase in next few years, so its logical to assume that price will go up.
I`m exited that I`m part of all this, and for me its good as long btc have a high price. I think 2 my monthly salaries for one btc is high price, but its again just my opinion based on my experience.
We will see, halving is very close, I believe few months after halving we will see how much is bitcoin strong currency.

The price will go to a high price but that will be after the halving and not right after it..

I'm personally thinking that the market might spike a bit after the halving, but I'm going to keep doing what I have been doing for the past 6 months and keep holding whatever I have in my wallet. It feels far more rewarding having more Bitcoin tucked away than it would feel exchanging all of it, especially considering the future prospects of Bitcoin and what can potentially happen in it's future.

I hope at halving the price of bitcoin will go more and more higher with fastest speed, I have believe on it that halving will be the source of success and establishment this year for bitcoin.

Is this similar to buy on rumour and sell on news? But the halving is not a rumour and news, it is definite.

i have heard from my friend that halving is expecting on sun day. any way Saturday or Sunday not a big difference. but the issue is the either the price of bitocin will increase or decrease after halving. to me i can see that the price will increase. and may be cross the all time high lever. it is also possible that the bitcoin will crs 1000 USD level.

the same for me, all my thoughts are into what bitcoin price is going to be fter the bitcoin price growth because if it will drop then the effects will be disastrous as most people will sell coins

Do not panic it is just strategy of whale to make user panic selling to increase the demand of bitcoin. But this is good for the traders which can earn for the fluctuation of bitcoin price.

pfff, the price will surely not fall because of the halving, think that it is possible for it to only grow right now because a lot of people will invest in bitcoins and push the price up

Price will probably go down short term but this is a long term play. As long as demand increases price rises are going to be inevitable.

i wanna see what happens to the mining. that's the most interesting aspect. it was amateur hour at the last halving. now it's a serious business wherever it's taking place. are they gonna thrive? is it gonna centralize even more? that's what i wanna know.

it will depend on how's the price of bitcoin become after halving,if the price were the same ,miners will get only half of their profit before,it means they need to take a prevention step from bankrupt,keep mining or just move to mine altcoin,if the price rising a lot then they maybe will keep mining bitcoin
the thing is if the miners were massly stopped mining maybe bitcoin will be doomed,hopefully it's not going to happen

Yes bro there is a 90% chance of price increase but it is difficult to predict the price of Bitcoin. Anything can be happened on halving......

With just a few days before halving, I am hoping for one last price dip. I am also ok with bitcoin going down below $600 before the halving starts to have any effect on the price. We saw a pullback yesterday and we could be seeing more of it. Everything is mainly a guessing game right now and I would be closely monitoring how the price behaves in these next few days.

Price will increase for sure but no one can tell how much,i made some predictions about a month ago but i am looking the price now and it seems that i have failed,numbers are not very close  ;D

That's quite cute. Well I was expecting the retrace to happen before halving and it did, but I think we will stabilize around 550-600 usd for a while and then maybe see a slow up climb again. Peeps wanted to make soem fast money and they did and are out already waiting for the next entry point I guess.

In all honesty, I'm really expecting for a price increase but ofcourse, not something that would suddenly happen like in a day, the value would rise up to $850 all of a sudden. I expect the value to rise to at least at that value, but not in that way. It may take some time for that to happen but I'm hoping.

Same haha I didnt think bitcoin would rise And fall so much so suddenly. Im sure many would expect bitcoin to reach a point that its steady and consistent but how can one know when to expect such a miracle haha. The way to reach 850$ is very blurred for price of bitcoin to reach, i think the decen price we can predict for it is the price well go to 700$+ for tomorrows halving and i dont really expect if the price will still move since the price are suddenly stopped when 730+$ price rise last month has been killed by those greedy stakers thats why  we experience falldown and its regaining back again to reach 700$ for tomorrows halving day.

The price is stable currently and if the market manages to remain stable till Saturday, we may go ahead with this price till the end of this year. As far as the mining reward goes, I feel that the scarcity of bitcoins would make the price go up in the next 2 days but it's likely that the number of miners would decrease after the halving taking it longer for transactions to be confirmed.

I haven't read all the opinions.So I might intrude here with my own "theory".
Most probably after halving the price will increase by 50~100$ because there will be less bitcoins entering the blockchain and thus increasing the demand.
It will become stable for around 2 weeks.But after some time,it's gonna slide to around 400$!! It will be more like a crash.
But if the history repeats itself then it can cross the 1000$ mark.
Let's hope for the best!

Just want to ask because I thought halving can't have a specific date and the one that you are seeing in http://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/ is just a calculation made by users that they estimated when will be the specific block could be achieve.

After saturday I expect the a few very unstable days. Dumping and probably buying again from the whales.
For some reason they want the price above 600 dollar which means there is more to it then what we are seeing here.

I think the same, we could see lateral movements from whales-traders, trying to make money with ups and downs on first days after halving. For small users, i think its better to wait some weeks to see what happens on prices.

I'm afraid it happen so before the price dropped I hope to sell before it but what I expect is a high price rose in line with expectations of many people.
I do now is move all of my bitcoin into exchanges site and prepare what will happen
