yes they just started releasing the windows beta wallet on the slack for testing

Windows beta is out and full release should be coming shortly.  These things take time and remember, they are self funded.  They didn't ask for a nickel before working.  They want to provide you a working infrastructure and service before bearing the fruits of the hard work.

I'm not part of the team, just a community member who saw how great this project will be and thought LBC should be better represented on bitcointalk.

And if you look at their github, they push out more updates than multi million dollar ICO's here.

yes, I don't have anything to do with the waitlist.  There's 100k people waiting to check out LBRY believe it or not.

You have to signup and they will contact you when your turn comes up on the waiting list.  You can still try it out but you have to supply your own LBC.  

If you help out the community, people in the slack tip a lot so that's also a way to get some lbc if you provide something to the community.

Some guy got tipped 20 lbc because he wrote up a manual on how to transfer wallets from a mac to a windows machine.

Is there a web app for this? Or will there be one in the future? I would hate downloading another blockchain. What if I only would like to watch the videos or share the videos I have? If I am just an ordinary person on the internet a web app would be very useful just like how Steemit did with their platform. There are many people outside of the cryptosphere that is using it because the barrier for entry is low.

You don't store the blockchain on your computer.  I'm pretty sure it uses an Electrum style system where you don't have to store the whole blockchain already.

The install gives you all the required dependency  files to run the software and wallet system.

what you're talking about is exactly what this is, you click and watch.  As an added benefit, anything you watch if it costs credits gets stored on your computer and when others watch it, you get paid a small bit right to your wallet for the amount of data it took from your computer.

It's steem for video but without the locking of funds.  You get them just like bitcoin, no waiting and more ways for people who don't want to create anything to get paid.

never heard of devcoin but yes you "publish" (upload) your own content and name whatever price you want.  when someone watches that video or downloads whatever is supplied on your LBRY link that you published to.

Best part is if I download it, I also will start to get paid when others download it :D

Content creators make the most but Content consumers can make LBC just by watching stuff and leaving their computer on at night :D

windows wallet is built into the system.  Invitations are sent out in order they we're received in smaller blocks.  Some have been waiting longer than you.

You think those VCs that invested into LBRY are fools, the problem with this project is that most people buy into the hype and this is different from the model of the developers, remember this is not an ICO project they never collect any dime from you guys even Singularity that raised $7 million dollar has crashed to 50% below the ICO price.

note that this attack is not currently possible by not only the COST of such an attack, but the lack of DEMAND for such an attack in LBRY's current state, mixed with 40% being in constant lock down, MEANING, NOONE , unless they BUY out LBRY's premine can do this attack for YEARS, due to mining schedule+price.

because, as one can imagine, once they announced "FREE MONEY" , it got horribly abused, with people even spamming the hackforums (cmon guys like they wouldn't watch for shit like that), to buy github accounts :/
People were hacking devs just to get a few damn dollars and overall, their hand was just forced to disable it :(

The quality of a coin is not judged by the number of shitposts on bitcointalk but rather what they have accomplished -- LBRY is delivering a working project with plenty of interest thus they are on Poloniex

Very cool project. I believe it will get noticed at some point at massive scale.

Closed beta can use the app already and it's cool. It loads fast and it's working. Apparently some bugs still have to be fixed, and no open beta until then...which is a good decision!

You can hash whatever algo and get paid in LBRY on Zpool, just add 'c=LBC' for the pass and use your LBRY wallet for the username.
They could also use some more hashrate, the time to block still a little high.
