What exactly does OP gain by such a hidden prediction? Is this a game of sorts, or is it to flatter one's ego ("I knew it")? Calculate a hash of the text file (on unix, you can use the 'md5sum' utility). 3. Post the hash. 4. Post the text file later. 5. People can verify that the hash matches the text file by hashing it themselves. If the text file was altered after the hash was posted, the posted hash wouldn't match anymore. If you make your way through learning computer science (or simply learning programming for real), you'll gain a skill set which is indeed very useful in our present highly complex environment. But this skill set isn't necessarily what you need to "separate rich people from their money". It's rather the opposite of what you need. Learning computer science teaches you a structured way of thinking. But to outsmart other smart people, you'll need to learn how to manipulate. Thus you need a deep and intuitive understanding of the "human factor", you need both empathy and an affinity for the mixed-up and confused states of our existence, without the urge to get matters sanitised and cleaned up first -- and this is exactly a weak spot of many computer science cracks.
