Title: Is it a good time?
Post by: cryptoanalyzer on January 12, 2017, 09:06:51 PM
Since the price is still somehow not too high, is it a good time to buy BTC or should I wait a little bit more? Does any one have any Ideas?

Their is always good to buy in lower and i think who ever have bought in lower now if they want they can make profit as they will be getting more then 2% profit. But if you keep for long term then you can get very good price. On all dip it is always a good time to buy

I recommend to buy bitcoin as much as we can. the current price of bitcoin is declining and expected to have increased again. but do not worry because in the future bitcoin will have a fantastic price. I think this is a profitable investment.

On restest of $750 low, I would suggest it might be a good time for a fast long trade.....if this bounced a couple of hundred bucks it would be nothing out of the ordinary.

Week ago BTC price was at $1100, today's price is around $800 and you are now not sure if you want to buy? Just do it!
It is only a matter of time before market stabilize and Chinese traders will swallow new exchange regulations and move on.

You can buy it right now but I would wait on a slightly better price, pretty sure that it will crash a bit more soon or later.

Buy now and hold it. Wait for the highest price of bitcoin this year before selling it. Some speculators says that bitcoin could reach 2500$ this year, nice to hear but to hard to believe.

I think that buying right now is one of the only options, it most likely will not get lower so this is your chance to make some profit, just put it on a long term and you will make good bucks.

I would say you should wait. If the price can stabilize in the region of 780-800, then it's probably a good floor to buy more bitcoins. But it should move around there more than two weeks to be able to say that. It can still go lower.

You should not be afraid that it could rocket again to $900 or $1000, because in this case we're still in the same bubble than 2016. If it doesn't form a double (or triple, if considering 2013) top in the 1100-1200 area then the bubble should continue not more than two weeks after crossing the ATH, followed by a price crash - and then you will be able, very probably, to buy at a even lower price than now (I expect a bottom of $400-500).

its rarely been a good idea to wait.

i'd say get some now, and get some later when the price drop, and get more when the price drops, and get even more when the price drops even lower, and buy even more when the price drops lower still

the idea is at one point it will stop dropping and you'll have bought an amount you're comfortable with

plan a price you think bitcoin has a reasonable shot at reaching assuming it crashes really hard after lots of unexpected bad news,  so like 400 or 500?

dont assume we're going to have wave after wave of bad news and selling, and wait for that price, it'll never come... just consider it a possibility.

then buy some right now ( cuz you're bullish ) but not to much, enough so if it drops -20% your kinda sad but not stressed ...

price drops -20%? you're still bullish on bitcoin? part of you has been hoping for lower prices? you not stressed! you know what to do!  ;)

in addition to my above comment i would like to say you can do this:
let's say you want to invest $1000 and think there is a chance price goes up and there is a chance it goes down. if you think there is a bigger chance of it going up then buy $500 now.
then spread the rest in orders.
think it can go down to $750 then put an order of $200 there.
think there is a smaller chance it go to $700 put an order of $100 there.
think there is a tiny chance of it go down to $680 put an order of $100 there.
...
and so on. (change the numbers based on what you think, and have fun)

Lol.  Tell that to the guy who bought at 1000+ USD.  :D  I mean come on, if you want to buy Bitcoin because you intend to hodl, then it's better to get in at a better price.  Always this should be done in stocks and commodities.  Why should you treat Bitcoin differently as an investment?

I would not hesitate in saying that I think this downward spiral has come to an end for now. The price will go back to $800 or more soon, but things in China are still on the knife edge, because we do not know what the Chinese government will pull out of the exchange bag. If they mess with these exchanges too much the price will drop more, but if they only had a routine visit to scare them, we might see the price go up to $1000 or more.

This just shows you how much influence China has on the price. They have said lately that if China cough, the rest of the world gets the flue and this seems to be accurate when it comes to Bitcoin. A lot of the bitcoins are mined there, so it is the origin of most of our coins in circulation. I think things will go back to normal soon, and our new normal, will be a price above $900 per bitcoin. ^smile^

If you have enough money in your pocket or a lot of excess you do have, go ahead buy now. But if you are still waiting for some more for low price.

Then go ahead, but I guess the price now is kinda enough to buy its just fighting between $780-$800 and soon the price will increase.

If you think that the price will ever get lower from $400-$200, that price is still far to happen.

No one can really say if it is a good time now or not. Bitcoin's price is unpredictable, the price it have right now might be the lowest we will see this 2017 but it might also be one of the high prices that we have seen in 2017 that will be another target price again for the future holders that will buy bitcoin. Just buy now if you want too but if you don't want then don't buy now.

The price has been unpredictable since the very beginning. But I have to agree that right now the market doesn't show any signs of going into a certain direction. If you buy right now, then it has to be for the mid/long term in the way that you end up selling at a minimum of $1000 per coin. If you look to make a short term investment, then it's a pure gamble. People should know and understand what risk they expose themselves to.

Lots of blood on Bitcoin Street right now, if it can help you make a decision.

Smart people buy when the streets are filled with blood, while noobs buy when the price is peaking out. I have been wondering if that would ever change, but no, these people keep making the same mistakes. But then again, smart traders need to have people buying up their expensive coins. Otherwise the market would be boring.

There is also a possibility (rather high, I am afraid) that we will see downward trend leading us to $500 again.
It all depends on how Chinese government will take care of forcing exchange to introduce harsh KYC regulations.
Tougher restrictions will be a reason investors could liquidate their long positions in the coming months.

Better to wait bitcoin at the lower price, now bitcoin still have a high price so it is better to wait for prices to go down some more. But if now you want to buy is not a problem due to bitcoin prices at the end of 2017 will be higher than this, even predicted could reach $ 2,000. If I do buy if the price drops a few more, maybe in the range of $ 700 or $ 710.

There were predictions that bitcoin will reach $2000. IIRC Kim DotCom called it out as he was promoting his new Megaupload 2.0/Bitcache service.
But we can't deny that price of bitcoin is mainly shaped by China, and in our current situation of Chinese trying to curb bitcoin trading, it will be hard to stay positive about $2000 in near future.

i think we should wait for a moment if we want to buy because i see that the trend is still down and it could make the price is still going to down but i am not sure about the price because for now, the price is around in $796 but there is a difference in the price if you want to trying to play ping pong.

whenever there is price drop there are only two scenarios:

1) things become volatile and continue to be that way, and it can even go lower. so buying is not suggested in this case

2) you see a bottom and a very excellent price to buy at, a price that wouldn't be possible without that drop. so buying is highly recommended in this case.

the scenario #2 is always followed by #1 and you should know that going down doesn't last forever because we are talking about bitcoin not a failed altcoin here.

There is always a good time for everything even in buying bitcoin.  If you have the guts and the money on hand to start why not. Don't ever miss any opportunity and invest now while you still have time and while the price is still affordable. Always think the phrase "now or never"  so you won't regret any in your life.

As of now, bitcoin seem to be regaining some strength from its losses but no one know how long this acceleration will continue. If some signs show that it will resume the upward movement, maybe it is the best time to buy bitcoin before it go up to a new level.

There is no perfect timing in buying bitcoin, the best thing to do is to buy each time you see a dip in price and if you see it plunge, go, dive and buy more. I think last day is the good time to buy, I hope you buy already. But if not then you could still buy today and I've read in some comments in some threads that this is not yet the bottom, whether it's true or not, prepare for that one, who knows, if it happens then you are the luckiest guy if you take advantage of it.

bitcoin is now seeking for its stable point and will gaining some strength after having so many losses of its rate ofcourse, i think the price will be stable after few weeks and it will still remain there for a long time just like what happen after price rally in the past statistics, bitcoin is really predictable based on what have happened to bitcoin in few years back

How is that bad investment advice?

You shouldn't be investing $1k into Bitcoin, unless you believe in the potential to reach $10,000. Also, if you trade $1000 for 1 BTC, it doesn't matter how much the Bitcoin is "worth" because you already traded the $1000 for it. You still have your Bitcoin whether the price goes up or down. If you are simply trying to "make a quick buck" by buying low and selling high then Bitcoin may not be for you.

The price has drop significant enough. You might miss out on good price if you keep on waiting. To solve that, you can buy, just do not buy all your money yet. Maybe 50% is enough. If the price dips more, buy more using the remaining money. If it goes up, then you are assured you have entered on a good price.

I guess already many people are doing this just to get better avearge buying price levels. I usually do this whenever I will be getting some extra money to buy bitcoins so significantly I'm not waiting for another tip to buy but I will buy when I will be having some cash.

I am also agreeing, this must be the right time to buy some more bitcoins as people are expecting bitcoin may cross again $1000 levels very soon like before end of this month too.

The price has only start dropping. I believe it will drop more. Just wait for a few weeks and if the price will still be decreasing - wait for some more time. Then when it stabilizes somewhere (I guess it would be near $600) - buy. But keep in mind that it is more likely to be a long time investment. Btc will need at least a year to recover from losses, I think. So if you are willing to wait 1+ year then it is a good idea to buy. But not now.

I think it will not drop more or reach $600 and i think the price can stay long to $800 or the price will increase more soon..
Much better to analyse the movement of the price here https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitstamp/btcusd
And it is gradually increase back again.. i hope they are realize after panic sell that the news few days ago are just whales ways just to decrease the price of bitcoin..

It's not to high when we compare with the latest price of $1.1k otherwise 1BTC is not cheap as before but not expensive as before, so if you think to invest for a short period of time then it's risky but if you think to hold them for a long time then go for it!

Great Comparison. Thx

in addition to my above comment i would like to say you can do this:
let's say you want to invest $1000 and think there is a chance price goes up and there is a chance it goes down. if you think there is a bigger chance of it going up then buy $500 now.
then spread the rest in orders.
think it can go down to $750 then put an order of $200 there.
think there is a smaller chance it go to $700 put an order of $100 there.
think there is a tiny chance of it go down to $680 put an order of $100 there.
...
and so on. (change the numbers based on what you think, and have fun)

Your idea is not so bad, but perhaps the distribution of your funds should be in reverse: the higher the price would correspond to a smaller amount, and the more the price go down you should have enough funds to acquire more, as a kind of martingale.

You are right, this would be logical plan to distribute the funds.
And no matter what it is good time to buy bitcoins because although the price is high with the time it will go even higher so everyone who is thinking longterm should invest it will pay off.

right, and also, one should probably plan to be 100% overbought if bitcoin should reach these unexpected but not impossible lows..

you're comfortable throwing 1000$ at bitcoin?
then you should be in 2000$ after a shit storm.

Yes, says the Rothschilds or whoever it was. They can afford to do that because they have unlimited capital, they know everything what is going on behind the scenes, and he said that because it was probably himself who caused the blood to spill on the streets. Do not openly believe what a rich man tells us, the poor men. They reason they became rich to that level was because they were ruthless.

It is up to you, if you plan to hold long term then the current price seems like a nice point to buy because the price of bitcoin will go up in the next months and years.

For me, it is a good time now to buy because for the meantime it will increase again. Well, we never know if it will continue on falling down but you might miss again to make profit if you regret to buy now. Still, it is up to you indeed.

Definitely a good time, i really believe the price is going to climb up again, so now it is a big chance to invest and earn some profit in the future, dont waste anytime and waiting anymore, the bitcoin future is still bright

so congrats for people which is buying bitcoin when the price is drop until $700 in few days ago because for now, the price is in somewhere $820 and you have a good profit for this. but if don't buy now, then i think you don't have to regret it if suddenly the price is going to the moon.

I advise you to buy a bitcoin with all the money you have today. because bitcoin is currently located at declining prices.
many people and expert digital currency that bitcoin would have found a fantastic price in the future. and it began in 2017.

It's never a good idea to go all in at whatever price level. Best is to stick to just 10-25% as initial purchase, where you have the other part of your money available for when the price happens to tank further. That being said, even though the price has gone down from well over $1100 to around $830 right now, it still doesn't mean current prices are cheap or low. The +$1100 peak was the result of panic buying where the price was heavily overbought. Current price is about right, not high, but also not low. Also, never listen to what others or "experts" are saying. Always do your own bit of market research.

Yes, current bitcoin prices are another opportunity we could buy more to make quick profits as bitcoin prices are going to test again $1000 prices by end of this month itself. I guess the price manipulations from China people will get finished off as their leveraged trading is got heavily regulated.

It must be a good time to buy more bitcoins but definitely not for selling off.

There is no assurance that bitcoin price after this month will rise for me i just relaying in the movement of the price from last year because the movement is just same fluctuate.
So for me better to wait more and maybe the price could be still decrease back to $700 and buy and wait for the price increase again this coming march or may.. this is just my own speculation and i am relaying in last year. .

Well Yeah I agree if china's crisis gets better I guess the value of btC will rise.

China reaction towards Bitcoin always have a huge impact to Bitcoin Price.  Just like the recent events, Yuan devaluation, making Chinese people to flock in to Bitcoin uptrend Bitcoin Price, then all of a sudden China government release a warning making Bitcoin price plummet.  During this fear and uncertainties of other holder making them to sell out and make BTC drop in price is the best time to buy before all the confusions settle down and Bitcoin starts to uptrend in price again.

That depends on the investor. There is a consensus among most experts that Bitcoin has high potential to be a rewarding investment in the long run. However, not all users can hold it for a long time, many individuals need a way to make a profit on a daily basis. Therefore, one must strive to learn to have the correct timing and thus have better chances of buying Bitcoin at the best rates.
