I would be interested in a Quad unit.  What would total price be shipped to NC, USA?  Any customs charges?

Like kcheel, I too am interested in a single Quad tower.  Could be convinced to tack on an additional Mini if it positively affects shipping.  Illinois, USA.
I have BTC ready.  What must one do to get in on the group buy?

I just got my Baikal Quadruple Miner which I ordered from one of the group buys mentioned in this thread. I just would like to share some experience I've made so far with the miner and with baikalminer.com. I had 2 scrypt miners from Innosilicon and thought I could buy an A4. But then I read the issues they had with multipools and in addition the skyrocketing diff change from Litecoin made me think not to invest in scrypt anymore…at least for the moment 
So as already mentioned I saw the offer via group buy in this forum and thought give it a try since also prohashing.com announced to offer an X11 multipool.
Ordering:
I ordered the miner during the Chinese holidays directly via email. I had few questions to baikalminer.com. Although they stated several times the response time could take longer than usual I got the response every time within few hours. I got my questions clarified, got the BTC address and paid with my hardly earned BTC’s.
Shipment:
The shipment was super-fast to Europe (Switzerland). February 3rd – 7th with DHL. I was on short vacation and postponed it to February 9th. The usual issues with DHL when getting an SMS at 07.30 am stating the delivery will be between 2pm and 5 pm and 15minutes later the doorbell is ringing… 
Unboxing:
The miner comes in a padded parcel which is not bigger than the dimension of the miner itself. The dimension of the miner is 140mm(L) x 100mm(W) x 355mm(H) and the weight 1650g according to the official website from baikalminer.com. It actually comes with all the needed wire. You have a wire with four single power plugs (to feed four units) at one end and on the other end a PCI-E plug which you can connect to a PSU. Alternatively you could buy four separate four power supply 2V/5A which I think I will buy going forward. Currently I am feeding the quadruple through a PSU from an open rig.
The other bunch of wires which got delivered is for connecting the four units together. The following video did help me to setup the miner properly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0z8QxuULLlU .
After that I had just to plug in the Ethernet wire into the quadruple and the miner was ready for its first start.
Initial operation:
I was very surprised that the first start was a success. Every unit has three led’s. A red led (assuming is the power led), a blue led which is blinking during the start-up and in the middle of the two a smaller green one which is blinking from time to time (assuming traffic light).
The miner obtains its IP through DHCP setup from your local network (I didn’t find an option so far to assign a static internal IP address to the miner though – maybe through terminal option within the GUI?)  Typing the IP address into a browser brings me to the login page where the standard password “Baikal” is needed.
Now I am into the GUI to communicate with the miner. It has 5 tabs – current miner overview (temps, pool information, hashrate per unit etc.), miner (pre-defined pool information, but also the possibility to enter your individual pool information and some sgminer options), settings (timezone settings, web password change, email alert and some options on remote control functionality), backup (backup and restore options) and terminal (self-explanatory).
Currently mining for approximately 10 hours with almost steady 600MH/S on X11 and quark coins. So far no issues and stable operation of the miner…tbc…

Let me know if you find that review useful or if you have any questions I could answer.

Hi, thx. No, the miner works as 1 single unit. I dint' find an option in the GUI to split the miner into 4 subminers. Maybe someone from baikal can comment this question?
What you can do is switching pools on the fly through the GUI. It takes a while but it works great.

I think the only difference between the single unit and the tower is the cord that connects them together.  So unplug that cord, plug in 4 ethernet cables and configure each one separately to a different pool.

I just see one ethernet plug at the bottom of the miner...so no possibilities to enter 4 cords into each unit.

What kind of power solutions is everyone using for a tower?  Having to plug in 4 of these would probably be best done with a ATX PSU, but anyone know where to get 6 pin to barrel plug adapters?

Yes, it comes with an adapater to PCI-E. I am currently running the miner on an existing rig. This is not an ideal solution. Everytime I restart the rig the miner goes down as well.
Any suggestion what PSU would be suitable?

I just got one mini for 18.7 DASH including shipping to Australia so thanks @bittawm very much for this!

I have wanted one of these for a long time but people were re-selling them at ridiculous prices. I had one guy on Ebay in Australia trying to get AUS$1200 for just one mini!

I know it will take maybe a year to make that much DASH but I honestly think DASH (with Evolution) is going great places and its price will be steadily rising over the next couple of years.

Really looking forward to plugging it in!

Thanks again!

Have a look at whattomine.com. There are coins which are more profitable at the moment than dash. Afterwards you can exchange those to DASH.

They won't be obsolete. Firstly rumors where with fake skype profile. 2ndly these miners are not so affected by electricity price. So they won't be obsoleted by more effective miner. It's not SHA256 miner.

It should be enough. 2 quads are 320W. I wouldn't add 3rd on it though.

Yes, you can connect 4 Giant together and controlled by one orangpi. 5 is also OK, but more than 5 not recommended.

For quadruple, 2 quadruple miner OK. over 2, not recommended.

For mini, 10 units OK, over 10, rejection rate may increase.

So, after mining a couple of days I must say this one is mining steady as rock. All units are mining 149.8 + or even one with 151. So overall I have constantly 600MH/S. I pointed the miner to quark and X11 and there is no difference on speed. I have constantly 600mh/s.
If anyone is interested in photo's please send me a pm with your email address. Somehow I am failing to post photo's in here...  :o

Hi Great review. Btw can you point each of 4 miners to different pools or algos. Or they work as one?

I just see one ethernet plug at the bottom of the miner...so no possibilities to enter 4 cords into each unit.

you can you just need more controllers

Hello Baikal, I am going to your site to buy a miner but I have a small problem. When I go to login, it asks for my username/email, ok no problem, my password, ok no problem, but it has a third line, it asks for a code. I did not get a code or any email from Baikal!

Thank you

It doesn't matter...even if you buy on their site you still have to finalize your purchase through skype or email.

me too, if you have been watching whattomine these things are holding up income, beauty of it is it can mine multi algos so I think it will be profitable for longer than scrypt or sha256 ASICs

Got my package in today.  Unfortunately part of my order is missing but not going to go ballistic about that yet, as I assume they will make it right.

As for the Quad, it is as advertised.  Cables were included, plugged the ribbons and power cables into each board, plugged into a PCI power cable and ethernet cable and turned them on.  Runs very quiet, which I like.  Figured out the IP it was on using Fing, wiped out the preset pools that were in there and for the time being, just set it towards a multipool.  Whole process took less than 5 minutes and its hashing away at 600mh.  Looking forward to playing around with it.  Will definitely consider getting a few more.

Forgot to follow up from earlier.
I setup the miners.  One Quad tower and 2 Minis.  Soooooooo easy!  Out of the box and mining in minutes.  Easy to find on the network; shows up on the router as "Baikal".  User interface lists server addresses of many popular pools.  I chose NiceHash for now until I have an opportunity to research different pools.  Momentary effective hashrate on the pool is fluctuating from 125MH to as much as 191MH per unit but 6-hour average is consistently about +2.5% over Baikal's advertised rate.

My purchase came with 6-Pin Molex 5557 Mini-fit Jr (a.k.a. 6-pin PCI-Express) male to five 5.5x2.5mm DC plugs on 18awg aluminum wire. Though I had enough DC plugs at home but it turns out they were all 5.5x2.1mm.  Be careful, common 2.1mm plug will not fit a less-common 2.5mm port.  The PCI-E connector became very warm with 5 Minis running off it.  Thankfully I have plenty of PCI-E connectors to build more.

One of my minis is being fed by 22awg copper wiring.  I was concerned this would be too thin but the wire doesn't feel warm at all.  This unit has no Orange Pi attached so that reduces the load.  I would still recommend at least 20awg copper or 18awg copper-clad aluminum.  Going to change that one to 18awg copper when more 5.5x2.5mm plugs come in.

Do note that the bottom of each unit has metal screws that could scratch the surface you rest it on.  Find some stick-on felt or rubber bumpers.

VERY happy with my purchase; will buy more.  Still waiting for the bill from U.S. Customs, though.

I can make more power cables if anyone needs custom wiring.  Server power supplies, breakout boards, and fancy sleeving as well.

Multipool.us has a variation of x-11 coins available for hashing. They also offer profit switching, just within x-11 algo.

I'm glad they're including the dc plug, takes a bit of experimentation out of the setup. Is one included with each mini I wonder?

How do they run if you rest them on their side?

Never hurts to have hardware for sale, make a few extra plugs and list them.

Baikal, I hope you don't run out of these before I'm able to purchase any. I want to do a comparison.

Thanks for the recommendation.  I'll check out Multipool.

The DC plugs came zip-tied to the quad tower.  Quad needs 4 plugs and 3 tether cables.  My quad came with 5 plugs and 4 tether cables.  Extras don't hurt.
No DC plugs came with the individual Minis.  I used the extra plug and tether cable to connect them into a "Dual."  My 6th plug was cut from an unused wall-wart power supply - the black 22awg wire on the Quad from my previous photo.

Fan wind jets into the heatsink then out from front and back.  Place it on the side should not effect it as long as the air can flow.

As for the 80x80x15mm fans, I would say they are quiet but not silent.  Near the high-end for a common 80mm fan.  Okay for a TV room.

Could you please specify the name of connector cable because I can't find anything like blade connector on ebay...  Also I want to ask if it's possible to connect 2x baikal mini miners with that blade connector and use only 1 ethernet then, And also, how many baikals mini can I power up with 1x 6 pin ? because I found something like this with 6x extension http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-ATX-PCI-E-Express-6pin-to-5pcs-DC-5-5X2-5mm-Plugs-of-Gridseed-Mini-60cm-/151611654633?hash=item234cc241e9:g:CPsAAOSwMsVXjeUJ (http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-ATX-PCI-E-Express-6pin-to-5pcs-DC-5-5X2-5mm-Plugs-of-Gridseed-Mini-60cm-/151611654633?hash=item234cc241e9:g:CPsAAOSwMsVXjeUJ)  , thanks for info :)

Yeah, you can use it at home.

It's nowhere near the same noise as an s7s or s9.

Probably set it on top of your pc and forget about it.

It's extremely quiet...

Quick question everyone, what are all you guys mining mostly? I've come to discover mining dash gives very little returns. At first I mined checkcoin (CKC) and could get almost 2.90-3.75usd daily with a single mini. But this coin has since been delisted at all exchanges. I now switch between Goldblocks, Ozzicoin and Quebecoin at aikapool and usually range from 1.50-2.40usd per day. What are everyone elses returns here? Do you care to share please?

Thx for sharing but I would consider Startcoin to be on the lower end of the profit scale. There are other Alt's that can yield higher returns....It's a never ending constant thing of testing and trying out...

Wich is your experience with LTC and Baikal Quad mini?
It should né the best LTC miner machine on the market.

Is it a good investment?
Are you earning money?
Are you loosing money?
