Hey guys, I'm a fan of playing Tetris ever since it was released. I tried the old times like in the Game boy or in the IBM PC version. I studied different tactics like 4 space, Stacking, and my specialty, T-Spin. It's so fun with all the colors (when it has colors now not just shapes). It's fun.

Have you played it? And what is your playing style?

Tetris is great and legendary game. As a child, I played it on my Tetris-machine very often. Do you know anyone in a hilarious version on pc?

Haha back in 1990 it was one of my favorites.  my record was 2000 or 3000 lines

Yeah, I used to play Tetris. My father presented me it when I was 6. It was my favourite game. Then, when I was 8, my father presented me Tetris with different mods, including tanks and racing.

I played Tetris too many times to count on so many different systems. I think of it as a classic game such as chess. I was never really good at it but it sure was a great way to kill off some time before you had to go back to school for a class.

I wish I can still play now for hours

I watched a Tetris tournament few months ago, man.. these guys are true hardcore Tetris players, i was stunned how fast these guys are.

Bundled with the Gameboy way back was a smart decision !
I was playing it in the arcade too when the GB came out.
It always had a crowd around it for sure.. good game.

I don't think i am very good at it though.. nor do i know what style i use.

I played Tetris on an old PC many years ago, quite a fun distraction.

Moderrn games like Bejewled are just blatant ripoffs of Tetris, I hope who ever created the game originally is getting some sort of royalties from the various versions in use now.

I liked being able to shift a piece sideways down a chute to shore up a gaping hole (providing the pieces weren't falling too quickly that is). ;)

In his time on a portable device this game is perceived well and it was fun to play. But when we went to leave the new TV in the 90s with Tetris, so I started a depression. Because the movie was not possible to look at all like the game used to play on the TV in the break on advertising.

I dont play tetris in IBM. But i am playing it in my android phone. Tetris is classic game but it is not make me boring

It is really a legendary game that is enjoyed by millions and sometimes forgotten in this age. I don't know why it's hilarious for you in the PC version but it's fun to play with. The original style, not those with variations of some sorts.

That's a lot man! Great job in doing that. I have forgotten mine but it was around 1000+ lines I guess. Not the best but still, it's far better than others. But that world record though, 999999999999999999999. Lol

Anyone play on the fceux emulator? It seems to lag slightly. Is there a difference between playing in the emulator and playing the original on the NES with an old monitor - latency wise?

That's awesome man! Your father is awesome presenting you games. My father introduced me to Mario, during the old age with also a laptop that's really Jurassic now lol. Tanks is also good.

Chess is surely a way to fire up your brain cells especially when you are up against a master or someone that's better than you. Tetris is a fast game that's really awesome to play with, practicing is the key to it.

Ha! I had the same package back in the day. Now it's everywhere in smartphones, game consoles, and emulators if you want. Gameboy has lots of variations too, like the GB Advance, GB SP, etc. I don't know the other types.

Tetris Blitz is really awesome too. The game is high speed and exciting to play. The competitiveness is also a key factor on why you are going to play on it.

Tetris was invented by the Russians, but they were unable to make it in life and sold. It's a fairly primitive game. It seems to me that the secret of its popularity lies in its simplicity and infinity of levels.

I did play tetris way back when it's still in the Brick Game device.
Next one is on a family computer.
Last interesting tetris game I played is the Tetris Battle in facebook. Gotta love beating my friends <3

it brings me some old memories back from childhood sitting and playing till I got a high score....I didn't use strategies though, I used to play it just for fun

Yea, that`s the one I had too. I also grow up with this game. I used to play it a lot, also later on first cell phones, like old Nokia phones and some others that had this game, after that I never play it again. Maybe if I catch some spare time I will check is there anything nearly original for PC to play a bit  ;)

It can be very good to come back and play old games, as if returning to childhood. In my attic, almost all of my childhood and Tetris are in the same number. A good game for children for good development.

I like what you posted and funny at the same time. Lol. I like to see what tengen tetris is, never heard of that or seen that until now.

I loved seeing the GameBoy space shuttle taking off when you beat the final level. It felt like work to actually get that.

Tetris in the classic version is a very good game and will suit even small children. They quickly grasp the rules of the game and begin to break their logic very strongly against other things. It's a good game, albeit funny.

Well, you really have to do a lot of work to achieve the best and the highest level that the game offers. That's the best thing about it, the feeling that you achieved what others can't and see your name on the high scores.

Getting myself an original nintendo entertainment system and an old crt monitor to play the classic 1989 Tetris on. I play now on an emulator but the input lag is annoying to deal with and I want to keep improving. :)

Well that's not a problem because now there are a lot of updated devices that can play Tetris, even in smartphones. You can play there with other types of modes. But still, nothing beats the classics and keep on improving man!

Haha thanks, but yeah if you play on anything digital like an emulator on your computer, a smart phone, etc, there is going to be input lag or "display lag". With an original NES and an old CRT monitor it's all analog, no digital, so there is no lag and it's what is used in tournaments. You won't be able to notice the difference though if you're new to the game.

Used to play back when I was a little kid, even tho I was dumb enough to not understand how it worked :P

Childhood days were awesome.

I'm playing tetris since last three years ago but now I stopped. Tetris is so fun because you can with your friends. I know also some t-spin but not unlimited t-spin. And I can do 20 combo also.

Wow, that's a great strategy, that's my strategy too and it's helped me achieve a very high score in Tetris in my smartphone.

PvP tetris with bitcoin or other alt coin as wager sounds nice. Been a fan since the break game era.

There is already a player vs player with Tetris and that's Tetris Battle in Facebook and I forgot the original site but it's awesome. I don't know what you're talking about with "break game" I think it's brick game. The old gameboy lol.

I used to play tetris on handy gameboys. Then I saw one of my friends is playing it on Samsung lcd tv and then I bought the same tv to play tetris after work. I like it from heart.

Wow tetris is an all time favorite game. I had been playing Tetris when I was in high school that was a long time ago the easiest way to get a high score in tetris is to set the speed to the highest speed.

I used to play tetris so much i dreamed about it and i'd see tetris shapes in normal life, lol.  Style?  I'd build up a solid platform straight across, up and up until one of the long single thickness blocks came down and get four rows at once.  :D

It is really a nostalgia because it's awesome to play it, especially with friends when you're up against them. Tetris battle is awesome.

The game Tetris is quite fun to do. It will test how creative you are, your tactics and techniques, how fast you brain's functioning and how flexible your hands. It is not just a spare time game, it also practice our rushed decision making. Until now I am playing it for over 5 years.

Used to play it on the old 486 PCs. Then there was the handheld game version. It is the best game ever made.

As a child I am always happy when playing this one game, for whatever reason I always want to play it without knowing the place and time. :D

I've played it and still am a fan of it! I really loved the time I discovered T-Spin. I used it everyday after doing it. But my favorite tactic is stacking them and using a line to eat out 4 rows. I love tetris and I hope the game developers continue its support on Tetris.

Who would have forgotten the tetris game? Oh my! It's one of my favorite games! I Remember during my childhood when I'm playing tetris and my older brother always bullies me and snatch my gameboy, I always hit him because it was so hard to maintain and solve puzzles. Because if you wont be able to solve the puzzle it will reach the top level of the screen that will make you game over. And it was really a challenging game especially when its doing fast dropping of tetris puzzles!This is so crazy! I love this game!

It was very good to reminisce the old days and there was little to few strategies that can be applied there, now there are a lot of game modes that you can choose from so that you won't get bored. What I like is the Player vs. Player matchup that's an intense battle right there.

Yeah I used to played tetris way back when it's still in the Brick Game device and now tetris is my favorite games on facebook, now I'm still playing but very often it brings me some old memories back from my childhood playing till I got a high score and my strategies when I'm playing tetris on facebook is T-spin, 4 lines and my favorite is 1 line :)

I played tetris with my brother on NES it was fun to play until now my brother playing tetris in online he still like it.

Sure I played years ago, didn't really have much of a strategy, other than to win the game. Although on the earlier levels you can get away with stacking rather than layering, until it gets fast, at which point, stacking isn't as great an idea.

Tetris become one of my favorite brick game ever. Piling of blocks becomse harder and harder and the speed becomes faster and faster as you go on to the next level.

this was one of the coolest mind blowing games.those who didn't play really missed.

remember way back when tetris was on the old school nintendo gameboy.  still a classic game to this day and enjoyable through your smartphone.  love that game. 

I've played Tetris in facebook. My playing style was unlimited t-spin and t-spin freestyle (with combos). But before I mastered my t-spin, I played with 2-3 space stacking. Tetris is not a simple game, it is the game for people with fast mind.

I've played Tetris in gameboy and facebook. but theres quite similar from facebook cause of unlimited t-spin and t-spin freestyle (with combos) but compare to the old tetris is not but before I mastered my t-spin, it is the game for people who is attentive and know how to keep in their track.

We had tournaments of Tetris among friends 30 years ago or so. Some people would play 7 hours a day I remember.

Yes i play tetris  in early 1992, and that game boy was a gift form someone for Saudi Arabia. And i remember in 1995 most people played tetris. I love playing tetris, But i can't play tetris in the computer.

Being such a fan, you should try making your own game - with an arduino or a raspberry. And show us the result.

I played tetris when I went to school and not only on the computer, but also on toys with an old monochrome screen. I do not have a special tactic, I just played, until the errors accumulate to the very top.

Wow, I am impressed. I certainly always loved this game, but I did not play it seriously. Rather simply as entertainment and leisure :D

I've played the gameboy one from 89. It gets very frustrating when they you're in a whole, the CPU I guess detects that, on so sends you the wrong piece many times in a row making it impossible to win.

A decade ago, this game could keep me up all night because of its addictive nature. Not even the slumbers could get me busted. I still play it though but not as compared to those times. Best arcade game, I guess.

H boy, I didn't know there are such tactics and techniques in playing Tetris.  :o cause I remember when I was a little kid playing Tetris I just drop the bricks that keep on coming to the most appropriate spot.

Yes, I have played it before i was a total noob though. I didn't fully grasp how to play it.

Absoulty loved this game, could play it for hours and hours. When I'm packing, putting shopping in cupboards or other things where I've gotta stack things to get them to fit in, I usually sing the tune to Tetris! No tactics other than try to get things to fit.  :D
