Title: Baikal miner Problems,Tips and Help
Post by: Lafu on March 26, 2017, 08:46:30 PM
Here you can post your issues about baikal miners and some help for figured out the Problems some miners have!  First i want you to know the orangepi Images on the support page from baikalminer.com figured out the most Problem if the miners dont work!  They update the support page asap when Updates come out! The orangepi Image have one 3,9GB and one 8,2GB the 3,9 GB Version have sgminer 5.2.2-b and the 8,2GB Version have sgminer 4.9.4 on it!  The 3,9GB Version brings 2 Mhs more!  But for me all 2 versions dont support nicehash pools anyway and i dont know why!  I write an email on the baikal support and lets see how this going i keep you up to date!

Had some issues before with nicehash on baikal miner.
Don't know if this will help you but it might have to do something with dns.

Lookup the ip to the nicehash server and use that in you settings.
It worked for me and after that it also seemed to connect to the nicehash adress.

Good luck!

Depends on your location.
Try ping to the adress of nicehash it will return the ip adress.

My A900 had issues mining at nicehash. It would go good for 12-48hours or so and then 1 of the mining units in it would stop and go to 0mhs in the dashboard. The other would still show ~450mhs but it would show 0 activity in the live graph and my nicehash address would show there wasn't any mining. I'd have to go the the miner and restart it (and actually before restarting the blue light was flashing like when it starts up). This happened a handful of times

I switched to only mining at a x11 dash pool and its been fine since!

No problems here on nicehash.

It looks like a connection problem but there are no logs available on the baikal(stock firmware) so you need to enable logging from sgminer to adress the problem.

I can not see the eu nicehash pools too, the rest is working fine. Technically this must be an ip ban,no? Any advice?

One more thing, if miner cant connect, there might be no working pools on the list, for me that was the issue, not the sd image, tough with the 3.0 algo switching is working again, but the eu nicehash problem is still there ,have no idea

Hi Lafu, I have trouble connecting to nicehash as well.
May I know is it you solved by flashing the old version? Does it relate?

Or do you think it is just some random connection issue?

I tryd to run the miner without the fan for looking how high the temp goes when the fan dosent work  !  First time all works without fan and temp goes about 68 -70 on x11 algo  ,after this i connect the fan again to the miner ,but looks like the orange pi image software proof for the connection to the fan , when i tryd to run thee miner again with fan the image crashd the miner and this dosent work , after flash the new imagen all works again !

hi guys,

i got problem with my baikal mini.
it cannot stop blinking.
i checked at router's client list and there is no baikal.

i plug a hdmi cable and it shows a repeated progress about failed to change to 1536mhz
i have replace the controller with another orange pi one and still no luck.
write a 8gb image to a 8gb sd card and replace the original sd card, still the same.

emailed the support address of baikal, no response after 2 days.
i  try skype baikal too, and same, no response.

anyone can help?

You can try a firmware reflash.  I have no idea how successful that is likely to be.  It is just something that occurs to me as an option.  See my post here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1875337.msg18644199#msg18644199

There is a link to the manual for the cube which contains instructions on how to flash the firmware.  Actually now that I think about it, scroll above my post in that thread and check out the first two posts as well.

The problem is your power supply.
You must use a 12v 5a power supply or better. If you are using already a 5A, change to a 12v 8A and it will fix your problem.
I had the exact same issue and i fixed by changing the power supply. Guaranted it will work!

I fixed my own problem, just incase anyone else has the same problem i went through all my router setting on router(i have a asus rt-ac3200) there was a setting under AiProtection then under Network protection catergory i turned off Vulnerability Protection! this setting was giving me dramas for other miners also everytime i enable this option back on my other miner would drop out and have Stratum connection problems. Hope this helps others in need!!!!

I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you.  If you bought it from baikal you can try sending an email to support@baikalminer.com but I don't expect you to have much luck with that.  You could also try bugging them on skype, but again, they suck at communication in general so that may not be helpful.

When you tried the different pi image did you make sure and get the one for the mini? The cube one and the mini one are different.

Also did you look here? https://github.com/baikalminer/multi-algo-miner

There is a user guide for the mini and firmware and pi image.  Should be some things you can try from all that.

dear Lafu,

yes im intested to try your image.
please give the download link.

the problem is not the internet connection/router.
i have changethe LAN cable, different LAN port even different router (Dlink and Mikrotik)
Those LAN port is fine, it works fine with the Cube and Desktop PC.

both of the LAN connector LED (RJ45) is lit from the first time i turn it on.
so i think this is a hardware problem.
but who knows ...

I had the SAME problem you did.

Only flashing, i pluged in a HDMI to orange PI and it was giving error set cpu frequency. I belive is that what you see too.

First thing i did to stop flashing and get it to get an IP assigned was change the power supply.
Try using a regular 12v 8A power supply, not an ATX power supply.

The other problem of not showing the ip on the router, its actually a router problem, i couldn't figure it out what was wrong with the router, so i swtiched routers and got it to work, so that is what you need to do.
Replace the power supply and maybe put a switch between the mini and your router and it should fix your problem completely

Hope that works for you as well.

i will try change the psu.
the first psu was 350W bulk atx psu.
works for about a month.
then i change to enermax. its not working.
switch back to old atx psu, still not working.
i will try a switching adapter today.
hopefully it will work.

SO not sure whats going on but I dont think one of my miners is working correctly.

i have 2 baikal cubes and started them at the same time.

One has 5925 accepted, 1.63% rejected and no hardware issues

Cube 2 has 12268 accepted 1.6% rejected, no hardware.

Both are mining to P2Pool using the same dash address as the username and at the end of the username I have /+0.08

hi guys,

i got problem with my baikal mini.
it cannot stop blinking.
i checked at router's client list and there is no baikal.

i plug a hdmi cable and it shows a repeated progress about failed to change to 1536mhz
i have replace the controller with another orange pi one and still no luck.
write a 8gb image to a 8gb sd card and replace the original sd card, still the same.

emailed the support address of baikal, no response after 2 days.
i  try skype baikal too, and same, no response.

anyone can help?

Can u access the web browser at all? has it ever worked? it definitely sounds like a router problem because you cant see it on your router ? you can use the IP scanner they provide on the download links  or simply use a Command window and type in arp -a . Is the miner second hand? could of been overclocked to that frequency and could be too high? try settling lower cpu freq . sorry for all the question just trying process of elimination is how i fixed my cube .

after a quick google search it seems to be a setting tweak of the pi itself hope this link helps . https://forum.armbian.com/index.php?/topic/1122-arisc-errors-have-returned/ if you read up on that and head to the forums you should be able to solve your problem:) good luck

baikalminer.com is a CROOK and a SCAM (s or no s, they are all BULLSHIT)

I have been ripped off from baikalminer.com for $4676 and want you share my HORROR story so hopefully you don’t end up getting ripped off.  STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM BAIKALMINER.COM !!!  After weeks of research on Google and Youtube, I thought the Baikal Miner would be a good investment mining Dash coins at 300 MH/s using only 75 Watt of power.  Boy was I in for the biggest SCAM and RIPOFF and RIDE of my life!!!  After one month of Baikal Miner hustling and scamming me, he stole $4676 and I am now stuck with a defective Baikal Miner Cube.  I am now still SHOCK and SO DISGUSTED of these people!  This is why they don’t accept credit card or paypal.  Just bitcoin, dash or ethereum.  I don’t think there is any recourse or any way you can get the coins back from these people!

On April 11, 2017, I pulled the trigger and sent baikalminer 0.7216068 BTC which equals to $876.02 USD.  These people are very difficult to deal with and very slow to respond on email.  Worst, they only take bitcoin and they are located halfway around the world in China.   So this made me very concern.  8 days later on April 19, the unit arrived at my home.  I emailed Baikal on what power supply to use and they won’t recommend which power supply to buy or send me an ebay or Amazon link, they just said 12V 10A.  I searched on Google, Amazon and ebay and end up buying 3 power supply from Amazon and ebay.  The first P/S came home the end plug was too big and did not fit.  Then a couple days later the two P/S I ordered on ebay arrived and this one fit.  You would think spending $876 on a little box with a fan, heatsink and circuit board they would include a P/S.  The box did not come with any manuals so I had to google to find the CUBE.pdf manual and figured everything out myself.  When first powered up and log in with the default password baikal, the miner show down.  It looks like they still have their dash wallet address on there.  I setup an account on coinmine.pl and dash.suprnova.cc and added my account and dash wallet address to the Baikal Pool page.  Doesn’t matter what I do, the miner still show down.

On April 24, 2017, I emailed baikal@baikalminer.com.  The following day, they email back ask me to skype them.

Hi,
Thank you for your email.
Please contact us via skype in order to deal your business more effectively.
Our skype account: “baikalminer” (no more other letters or characters)
You can check the following link for your information: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1804508.0
We will take care of your request as soon as we get the message from skype.
Best regards,
Baikal

On Skype, they did not offer any technical support or troubleshooting at all.  They kept on insisting I download and read the CUBE.pdf file.
http://www.baikalminer.com/cn/down/CUBE.pdf  Their support is shitty!  Then they wanted me to ship the unit back at my expense to repair it.  I wasn’t happy at all!!!  To make me happy, they offered a Quad unit at a discounted price.  The miner cube is $800 + $76 Shipping.  Total is $876.  Quad is 4 miner cube so $800 x 4 = $3200.  I already paid for the first miner cube so I just need to pay for the difference of $2326 and I have to ship the defective unit back.  I wasn’t happy paying more at a full price when I already received a defective unit.  So they offer 5% discount + free shipping + power cable at $2166 more + $876 I originally paid.

>4/25 Ok I will deduct the same so that you can pay the shipping price from your end for that cube.
>4/25 3196-870 = 2326$
>4/25 But you have to ship the product to us.
>4/25 Does it make you happy..
>4/25 Ok as this is our fault we give the 5% + free shipping and power cable = 3036- 870 = 2166

On April 27 and 30, 2017, I sent them $2150 to upgrade to a Quad Cube ($900 in ETH and $1250 in BTC).  As of this date, I have sent them
$3026.02.

On May 1, 2017, they offer me two baikal quads for $2400 instead of instead of $3400 .

>5/1 Ok after lot of considerations in your case we feel like the fault is from our end only.
And to do the compensation for that if you are interested we ship out two baikal quads in which you have already paid for one and for the second one we give you 25% off + free power cables and shipping. So you have to pay 2400$ instead of 3400$ I this this makes you a happy customer.
What do you say.?
>5/1 This is only one time offer please don't consider this discount in future just to make sure you should be happy we are offering this and please post this any where in social media.
As people will start bargaining..
This offer for you also only once from next time please don't ask us as definitely we don't give any offers anymore.
Definitely you don't need to worry this time as I personally test the products which we are going to send you.

>5/2 Hello my friend we have received your payment
But we had an issue with our financial tem.
In the morning our jr accountant accepted that you can pay 1600$ later but from afternoon we had so many discussions and our Sr accountant is not agreeing for more than 1000$ credit to a customer and blaming me for giving such credit after 25% discount.
Some how I managed by telling that customer lost a lot because of the machine problem and managed to give you 1200$ or with huge extra offer.
Because we consider the money which we get before the shipping and after shipping we always will be having 50:50.

Case1) pay 1000$ and pay nothing except shipping the old product.
So here for second quad you will be getting 3400-1600 = 1800$ total to pay(800 already paid and balance 1000$). Close to 47% off on total for the second machine.

Case 2) pay 400$ now and remaining 1200$ after shipping.

This is just to make sure that it is fine at least we don't make profit but we should not lose money by selling.
We sell our products through out the world and you are an individual customer for us.
I hope you understand our Sr accountant concern.
Please think for a while and let me know which case suits well so that I will proceed and also please be hurry so that tomorrow morning hours I would like to ship them. Thanks.

On May 2, 5 and 6, 2017, I sent them a total of $1650 in BT and ETH.  After sending them the last payment, they said to me on skype “Hi my friend please contact us via email for the confirmation. thanks.” And this is when the HORROR begins.  I email them at baikal@baikalminer.com and they just pay dumb and said they never received my $$$ BTC and ETH.

05/02/17 Paid $800 BTC
05/05/17 Paid $550 ETH
05/06/17 FINAL payment $300 BTC

baikalminer.com and all other baikalminer web site and all of the baikalminer on skype are the SAME people.  They will hustle you in sending bitcoin, dash coins or Ethereum coins.  They will steal your coins and you cannot do anything about it like me!  I am very unlucky and very stupid to trust them!  DON’T buy anything from Baikal Miner or any other web site or anyone on Skype.  They are all the same people.  I will attached screen capture of my skype conversion with Baikal Mining and emails so you can read for yourself and share with families, friends, co-worker and the mining community.  I FEEL SO SICK INSIDE.  These people have stole $4676 of my hard earn money.  VERY VERY SAD!  Don’t know what else to do.

did you send them the transaction confirmations?   if you just told them you paid without the transaction confirmations, then there is no proof you paid... send them the tx id, and if that doesn't work, post those tx id on here so the community can follow.

Looks you may talking to the wrong person.

where you sent the money? from skype or email? For me, they answered me all my questions and at the end, they asked me to write a email with my purcahse plan, address, my special request to their email(baikal@baikalminer.com), and then they provide quotation and payment adress, still by email.

you can post their emial for quoting you final price and payment address, community will help you. Good luck.

Hi.

Does anyone have experience with updating a Giants firmware?

I tried reading the instruction guide...but i think there might be an error in the guide...

Could anyone confirm if this is error or not?

See how it tells you to power each board of the Giant , using BOTH...power inputs?...instead of the usual ..One?

http://imgur.com/LcyZlM3

Also..once you complete the firmware update...

It then tells u to use ...ALL FOUR...of the power inputs ...to run the Giant...instead of the ususal...Two?

http://imgur.com/tPTuRqz

This must be "error"...right?

Should only use...1 power input...for the first step?

And...2 power inputs....for the last step?

Hi,

Firmware version:
The first Giant we sent out at the beginning is already owns newest firmware version, later we only update software version(orange pi one), The newest version of Orange Pi image is V3.0, size is 3.6G.

Power input:
2 of power connector be plugged (each board should have one) is enough for running one. Plug all 4 in will make the powering more stable, it is we always recommend. So, both of plug 2 and 4 is no problem.

Product
Baikal Mini Miner

Issue
Can not connect to the router
lan not responding, no lights on the router side
ethernet light is on on the miner side, even when lan cable is not plugged in

Test done
Using the same lan cable and router, tested with another miner and laptop, works(therefore not lan cable or router issue)
change lan cable - does not work
power on / off - does not work

http://imgur.com/a/nRgwk

Did anyone face this issue before?
Any ideas how to fix this?

It was bound to happen: One of these little guys crossed my repair desk. Doesn't work, says the owner

Powered it up with a 12 volt supply (positive tip), nothing. Took off the Orange Pi, noticed the burn mark on the back, tested it by itself, dead. That explains that. Ordered a new OPi, downloaded the latest code to it, hooked it up, fired it up.

Web site comes up, put in a bitcoin address for nicehash, pools are running, no miners running. Same network I use for litecoin testing, so the net should be ok.

No lights on the unit at all which is making me wonder if the ARM chip is blown as well. Question: Should any lights come on the hashing board, is there a way to test the SPI lines to see if the miner is on the ring, and anything else I can test to see if the CPU is up or not?

If not I could reflow a new chip, but not sure if you can load the firmware on a clean chip. Likewise what's the best way to hook up to the 4 pins, adapter or cut up a USB cable?

Thanks. Interesting little thing wonder if I can fix it...

Not sure, but I have noticed that if the Pi goes out it can take out the CPU on the miner. Is there a place where I can download the miner firmware for a reflash; I'm going to try replacing the CPU.

Hi everyone,

I have purchased a brand new Baikal Cube at the end of April 2017 and as of August 2017 the Cube stopped working. I am hoping for your help in resolving this issue.

One day the Cube just stopped working and blue and green lights are continuously blinking. Also I am not able to see the Cube on my router's client list when its turned on, so I have not access to the Cube interface. Something else I noticed is that the lights on the ethernet port on the miner are not blinking at all. The Cube has always operated in room temperature (not hot).  I tried the following:

1. Restarting the Cube
2. Restarting the Cube and connecting it to PC via USB cord and jumper switched to H (as per user guide instructions)
3. I also tried removing the SD card and flashing a new image from Baikal website (PiZero_170605_V1.4) onto the SD card.

Prior to the issues occurring, I have not had any changes to equipment (router, internet, etc.).

I tried a various options discussed in this topic, but none seem to resolve my issue. Any further advice or help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Is the Pi even working? Maybe get a new Orange Pi, the one I have here blew the Pi which also took out the Atmel CPU chip on the board. Blah.

Lightfoot,

Thanks for your reply. Is there any way I can check if the orange PI is working? Is it's not, what model of orange PI should I be looking for as a replacement?

Sure. Take it off and see if it boots. I think there is only one Orange Pi, so go for it.

What's the worst that could happen?

Or you could mail it over to me and I'll take a look at it. I'd like to see what a working one of these looks like if I can fix it.

Thanks. I will try to replace the orange Pi. Can you share a link to a direct replacement on ebay or amazon? I see there are multiple configurations when it comes to connecting the unit to the miner. Mine has 2 rows of 13 pins, but I can seem to find a Pi Zero that looks like that anywhere.

the current Pi I have have the following sticker on the back: Pi Zero, 256M, 201703070602. I am not sure what that means, but searching for it doesn't bring to the right place.

I also connected the orange pi to a monitor and it shows "failed to set cpu frequency to 1536 mhz" and also "cannot enable port 1 maybe the usb cable is bad".
The PSU is alright but I also checked with another one, no change.
So I think that maybe the sd card image is bad. Does someone have another image for the giant?

remove all cables, just power that top miner. if only red light on. then send that top board back to us for repairing.
contact support@baikalminer.com for troubleshooting.

I knew Baikal would turn up sooner rather than later.

I have generally had good experiences with these miners. Whenever I have a problem, I have often needed a bigger power supply (they degrade) or I need to check my work in connection them. ::)

Good to hear from the vendor. Seems like the Orange Pi's have a habit of blowing up, would it be possible for you to post the following:

1) How one can reload the Atmel CPU on the miner in the event it needs to be replaced?
(I have a miner here in the shop. The Pi blew up and took out everything on the SPI line which appears to be that component)
2) Exact model of orange Pi and firmware on SD card we should be loading.

Thanks!

Hi ppl, i have bought me recently a cube, it was working fine until i saw that it stopt every 10min. and then to start again mining.
It was not getting hot.
But i saw that the power adapter that was deliverd with it was max 7amps at 80W max.
And i had a 240W 12v 30A switching psu, that i tried to power it, when the cube blew a chip.
Now only the fan is blowing, no signs from the cube it self.

What did i do wrong?

And can some one take a photo off the board pls, to see what chip it was?

That is a power problem. Can you put a separate power source into the board that is blinking? It should work from there.

Hi, does someone have the firmware for Giant A900? I would like to reflash it. I also contacted Baikal Support, they told me that the problem maybe is something called MCU burn. Sounds to me like some kind of short circuit but I'm not sure. Miner doesn't work for 10 days now. Luckily I have my Giant+ working fine but it sucks anyway.

Hi, everybody.

I have few Baikal Giant+ miners. One of them stopped working smth about 1 month ago.
Blue leds are blinking permanently and I dont see it ip address.

What I tried:

1. Moved OPI to another part (change master and slave).
2. Changed OPI to new one
3. Flash image to sd from healthy Baikal

No result.

Few questions:

1. Is it correct image for me https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B1GBwN5-i39VRzNQS28tWlpsTVk  ?
2. Is there any possibility to connect OPI Zero to monitor, so I can see how OS is booting?

Thanks.

Good morning

I have three Baikal Machines

A Baikal Giant A900 Dash Miner
A Baikal Quadruple 600MH / s Dash Miner
And a single BAIKAL MINER ASIC 150Mh / s

I have some doubts to clarify:

First question can all be connected in series with blade cables?
If so how should the sequence be?

In the Baikal A900 there are 4 power plugs just one for Lama
or all 4 must be connected
What changes in many movies I see connected only two one for the blade.

Second question how can i understand which firmware version is installed
on my tabs to see if you need to update them?

And how do I figure out what image I have in the SD of my Baikal?

I know that only on the Baikal A900 I have the Mail Alert Manager
but immaigne is not the same for everyone?
Can I also enable it on the Baikal 150 and the Quadruple 600?
Confirm me that this is the latest PiOne_4G_V3.3_170605.img image

I have an SD 8 and even 16GB in the home so I have no problems if image
is it bigger there are more up-to-date and complete images that I can use?

I also wanted to change the host name if they entered putty
but baikal baikal does not have root permissions
which user should I use to modify the files for the host name?

Last question is not clear how I can control it remotely
can anyone speculate how to do it?

Thank you

I have been trying and searching for days....had the no devices running error.
Used the new v3.3_4gb image, and changed the ports of the cables. And it worked. So changing the USB cable from one blade to the other might work for some of you.

^^This guide was very helpful (nothing really technical there but it worked)

Hope it helps anyone. My miner is running like new again (Giant A900)

Hi. Have A 900.
Cant rec PiOne_4G_V3.3_170605.img on new 4g flash with Win32DiskImager-0.9.5-binary.
Reinstallation reason: When I(pool) change the algorithm from 11 to any other, one of the blades does not see =(
Why?

I have the same problem too
so I wondered if there are more up-to-date images of PiOne_4G_V3.3_170605.img
Also I would like to understand why the manual is not explained how to create remote management and private keys
and if somehow you can change the host name with baikal user i can not do it i would use a root user to modify in raspian host name.
@baikal

Thank you

Hi, just to give you an update. My Giant is working again for some weeks now. What worked for me is to clean the whole boards with isopropyl alcohol. This worked for me when repairing my old smartphone and it helped here too. After cleaning I let it alone for some days and it worked again. I don't know if the isopropyl was the solution or if it would have worked anyway, but you can give it a try.
But earnings are very, very low with the giant now and I'm not sure if it's worth bothering with it anymore.

Thx for answer, but my 2 A900 works fine, just 1 of it does not see one of the blades when I(pool) change the algorithm from 11 to any other or from 13 to 11 and the same... i donno why. And its only on 1 A900, second A900 works fine with this situation.

Even I have the same problem the car has no physical problems

Only if you change protocol often suffers if you use nicehash
often one of the blades remains idle :(
Succeeds also with the @baikal 600 but most often with the giant 900

Baikal is far from updating images and the firmware for these products I think we feel a bit abandoned we hope they will continue to develop these products and soon create a firmware or SD image
which solves this problem.

I also have difficulty remote control because I'm behind a non-public IP
and there is nothing left for remote control of baikal without having to use it
a common PC

I did not understand how the Private key in Remote control is generated
And how this part works.

Thank you

Yeb enable at sgminer options enable-nicehashsma:true and be sure you have enable  Extranonce  at miner settings too  , restart and the miner should now connect now automaticly to nicehash !

I didn't have to do enable-nicehashsma: true

for some weird reason it started working on its own.. and all the pools are alive now with nicehash.

Title: Re: Baikal miner Problems,Tips and Help
Post by: saviothecnic on November 15, 2017, 09:22:10 PM
A few hours ago I followed the advice and set my baikal
with option enable-nicehashsma: true

I did not have the problem of the dead pool
I had only happened a few times

But now that I have enabled this parameter I see that actually now often change the protocol now for example they are all on X13
and is actually having more profit than before
who was standing with the Quark protocol

So actually it's a good thing to enable and add option
enable-nicehashsma: true
In this way our Baikal if we work with nicehash minions always
on the most profitable protocol at the moment.

Control this option enabled for a few days
so I understand if it actually helps

sometimes I use enable-nicehshsma is very helpful but I more often do manually to add options because more thorough but enable enable-nicehshsma is very helpful to do in a job in a solid time

I own baikal X10.

After turning on the power for a while, the green lamp turns off, the blue lamp flashes, even if I try to open it from the browser it will be Miner down.

Even if you press "Cgminer softu reset", the error message "Miner: 111 Connection refused" will be displayed.

Do you know how to solve this error?

Please help me. Please.

I have the exact same problem. Got Baikal X10 here and the blue LEDs will only blink, but no miner wants to mine, which is strange as the previous owner claims to have tested the miners and confirmed them to be fully functional.

Static IPs given, Orange PI Image used, mining pools configured. Still "Miner DOWN" displayed in the web interface.

Could any one please please help me, to get these running? Mailed the Baikal support, yet didn't receive feedback (yet at least).

Thanks!

I'm not sure if there is an 'admin' account. I looked around in the web root and it's not like there is anything there that you aren't seeing when logged in as 'baikal'. If you SSH into the machine itself, the sudo password (root access) for machine is also 'baikal'

I encountered such a problem, my Baikal giant (2 Gh/s) began to lose connection (blue light blinks) with the Internet (connected to the router by a cable), only the physical restart of router and miner helps for a few hours. In the same network there is a Baikal CUBE who does not lose connections. What could be the problem? I tried to change the access point, but the problem remained.

try baikal as a password

baikal works for baikal login not admin.

tried, root, baikal, admin

You don't need root password.

sudo -i

Password: baikal

Hi ppl
I've been using X10s but I have a problem with my brend new Giant B.
As I plug it, leds turn on to red and stay like that. On the main page of it, it says No devices running. Pools loaded but no device, no hash. I downloaded and installed the latest orangePi image to another sd card but it didn't worked as well.
Do you have any idea what would it be?
I have got no response from baikal neither mail nor skype.

Has anyone else been getting the silent treatment from Baikal?

I sent them multiple emails over the last couple weeks regarding purchasing units and I haven't heard anything back. Even asked friends to send them email thinking my email may have been blacklisted for some reason. Nothing. I know some people are buying equipment just to resell online, but I'm trying to actually run a farm.

Ok they reply my mail and told me how to find them on skype. Then when we talked on skype they ofered me to swap the pi with one of my working X10 miner.
Then I realize that the Giant B start to work but the X10 stoped. So I bought a brand new orangePi and all of them are working.
P.S. if you do so, don't forget to keep sd card which belongs it self, not the orangePi.

I tried to change the access point, but the problem remained.

try to change utp cable from miner to the router. Sometimes it helps.

i have a similar problem with Baikal Giant+
No connection to the router, but already at the start

Did you solve the problem? Who can help?

Hi Guys,

Having a problem with a Giant B here

I can access every single page on the web interface other than 'miner' where I obviously need to access to point it to my pool.

Any way to fix this? I was told this was a new machine but its quite obviously used, so could someone have locked this page?

Really appreciate any help and will offer a BTC reward to anyone who can solve this.

Thanks

So I got the following problem.

I tried tos et a static IP on my Baikal Giant B, and probably made a typo or some such when configuring the interfaces file. Now the Miner is not getting an IP anymore, so I can't access the web interface anymore.

Is there any way to access the Miner via USB or something? I've tried plugging in micro usb into it, but my Computer isnt finding anything. It's really a shame this thing doesnt just have a reset button.

Tried contacting support already but they've been unhelpful to say the least.

Bought used one baikal x10 on ebay. Basically miner loves to stop hashing. First it won't let me log in and after a while just stops hashing. Red blue lights flashing. Any clue how to fix it?
Messed up ebay refund and paypa refund they asked for paper work from repair shop as proof that miner is really broken but how to get something like that. No one deals with asics

Hi there,

Just got my BK-B, and I am having difficulty connecting to Nicehash.

EU/USA pools, for all coins are shown 'dead'. I tried rebooting the miner, the router, to no avail.

I also pinged Nicehash and put the IP stratum+tcp://159.253.132.18:3356 as a pool, also dead.

Can anybody help?

Thanks!

Try resetting / restoring the stock example pools in the backup section. Change the existing lines with pools with your new pools according to algorithm. Delete not needed lines with stock pools afterwards and save.

@Andartis

You my man, are brilliant!

I was ready to start flashing a new image to de SD-card, and was getting desperate. But this is a really easy solution.

I write it down so everyone can find it through Google.

Baikal BK-B Nicehash Dead Pools Problem?

Trouble connecting to Nicehash Pools? If all pools are working, but Nicehash is showing DEAD, than restore the sample pools and afterwards replace them by your Nicehash Pools. Do not 'add' the Nicehash pools as new pools, they will show DEAD, but replace the existing pools by the Nicehash pools.

All credits to Andartis for this solution!

Here is the next one:
Hanging miner? Hashrate dropping? Pool shows dead?
Restart the miner every 12 or 8 hours by crontab to avoid problems:

Log in to terminal with login "baikal" and pass "baikal".
Besides: "sudo reboot" reboots manually if you prefer to do it manually when needed.
Warning: some times the webinterface hangs and you need to power off and on again (not very often but happens).

To reboot automatically:
Type "sudo crontab -e", chose nano.
Add lines at bottom:
0   00   *   *   *   /sbin/reboot
0   08   *   *   *   /sbin/reboot
0   16   *   *   *   /sbin/reboot
(Add space by pressing tab.)

This will reboot miner at 00, 08, and 16 o clock.
You can check if the reboot worked by checking the uptime. Simply type "uptime" in the console and it shows how long the miner runs.

Cheers

Bought a used baikal mini & the Orange pi keeps sending the cpu error unable to set 1536Mhz.  Saw this mentioned previous.  Is there any solution?  Also the login 'baikal' says wrong password on the site.  Assume this is due to the orange pi error.

Thanks for any help.

Hi there,
I have the famous "no devices running" issue on a Baikal Giant N.
Pools are fully configured and are loaded.
Yesterday, I had a power outage and since then the fan does not speed up full speed anymore.
It just spins very quietly, stops spinning for less than a second and spins very quietly again.
All hints for the issue which I was able to find on the internet and in this forum did not help resolving the issue.
Does anyone know how to further troubleshoot or even better, fix this issue?
Image has been re-flashed. I even changed the Orange PI already but all without success.
thanks in advance

So I decided to update my Giant X10 to get the new algos added. The miner was working perfect, except missing the additional 2 new algos. When I fired it back up, both ethernet lights stay solid yellow and green, and there is one blue light flashing on one blade, and one green flashing on another. I am unable to find an ip address for it. I used PI Zero GX10 V1.2. I have powered it on and off several times, and checked all the pins to the pi controller are seated perfectly. When I used windisk imager , it said successful. Any ideas? Please help, this really sucks :(

Does anybody know where I could order a fan for a Baikal A900? (I'm in the US) I have a unit that has three broken fan blades. I don't care if I have to cut wires and splice with the wires from the old fan, just want to find a replacement that will work. Please and thank you.

Maybe take a look at ebay or amazon guess there will be a few that sell this Fans , You can also buy another one he just has to have the same connection plug and specifications as the old, manufacturer should not care, maybe you'll get one of the quieter than the current one !

Hello,

I'm trying to set up a Giant B (BK-B) for the first time.  I think it's a BK-B at least.... there isn't any stickers or writing on the outside to indicate what it really is.  If I go to the miner tab, it has preset pools for decred, Sia, Lbry, Pascal and Vcash.  It has 3 cards with (2x) 6 pin connectors each.  One standard high speed fan on the front that pulls air in and then out the back where the power connectors are.  It has what appears to be a micro B usb connector and a standard USB type A connector.  Lastly it also has a standard Ethernet jack.  Maybe that will help identify it.  I am familiar with the Antminer and Innosilicon GUIs and I also am familiar with how to set up GPU miners/software.  This one seems a little hard for me to figure out though so I am reaching out to you for help.

The first thing I would like to do is to set a static IP address.  I found the "MimerIPConfig" software but that appears to need a SD Card.  Mine does not have a SD card slot that I can find.

If anyone still has the pdf instructions for this that I can download. then that would be greatly helpful and appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help

hi, looking for a little help. my brothers miner was working good and i sold it on ebay for him, after a month the buyer says it doesnt work and ebay let him return it. now i just got it back and i think it is a different one and the buyer screwed me over. it connects and says it is mining LBRY but i am not getting any accepted or rejected shares. i have taken it apart and the boards do not look like there is any damage. i have flashed a different sd card with firmware and tried that and it does the same thing no shares. i emailed baikal and have not gotten a response and i have been searching google for days and have not seen and threads with the no shares problem. does any one have any suggestions? or know what the problem is? i was going to order a new pi but, if it connects i would think it is working but, i do not know much about baikals  ???

well i ordered a new pi and that did not help, i also flashed a new card and it did not work with either PI. i am open to any suggestions  ???, also if anyone has a link to the latest firmware i would appreciate it. i downloaded the version from baikal which is pizero_gb_180105 and i noticed the other link there is for 180115 but i cant figure out how to download it since it is in chinese and google translate isnt showing all the information. also i still have not gotten a response from baikal i guess they are out of business? they have nothing for sale any more.
