Is there any service charge if purchased from mobile credit? If I purchase for 5$ for example, 5$ is deducted from my mobile balance, will I get 5$ worth of Bitcoin or will it be less, if less, how much will we get?

A couple of you asked about the fees. It's always been very common for operators to put a big price premium on numbers dedicated to payment collection. In addition, due to the nature of the service, VAT is also included in the price. Therefore, depending on the country, the amount of Bitcoin paid out is around 20%-50% lower than the actual real-time value, as unfortunate as it is, and there's literally nothing we can do, as much as we would like to. Nonetheless, so far we've been quite successful with the new feature, and there are quite a few people who have bought bitcoins from us using this method. We're sure our numbers will only grow as there are plenty of use cases for this - using your leftover monthly balance, emptying SIP trunks, among others.

We've now added several more countries to our Mobile Purchase feature, and here's a complete list of countries currently supported for buying Bitcoin with mobile balance / phone credit (in some countries landline purchases are also available):
Austria, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Norway, Finland, Denmark, United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Greece, Poland, Cyprus, Hungary, Slovakia, Israel, Israel, and Canada.

So far 18 countries in total, with more coming soon...

Hi, I am interested in your service and I would to know if CoinGate supports mobile credit that is prepaid instead of charging the phone bill. Have been looking for a way to buy BTC with my extra mobile credit so I would keep a lookout for this service. Hope to see more supported countries and good luck! :)

This would be great service IMO, but the sad thing is my country (Philippines) is not supported yet for this, but I will wait until you added some countries included ours too.

I wish that you add more countries too as I am seeing that my country is still not in the list of supported countries. I will like to buy bitcoin with my mobile balance as it will be more convenient for me to buy bitcoin than any other way to buy. In my country it is a little hard to buy and mostly I use local exchanges to buy bitcoin.

Apologies, we missed your question! Prepaid credit is also supported, it does not have to be a regular phone bill for you to use the feature :)

May I know if there are any fees for this service? It does not say anything about extra charges for the service at your site so I would like to confirm before I try it out, thanks!

Hello and sorry for the delayed response. There are fees, unfortunately, associated with the service, and they are primarily due to charges of phone carriers in various countries. Also, due to the nature of the service, there is a VAT included in the price. I wish we could have more control over this, but there are a lot of parties involved (different phone carriers in each country, to be precise), and they have the final saying and fees are in their hands. You can see an approximate number of bitcoins you will receive in the buy form, displayed just below the amount that will be billed to your phone.

Meanwhile, just to inform everyone, we now support Denmark, Czech Republic, Hungary and Israel!

Hope you relaunch soon and look forward to reviewing the service once you go live again.

Why don't you try to make a deal with Vodafone, which has already spreaded to sooo many countries. I mean thats at least what I wish for :D We have Vodafone here in Turkey and we're not in your previous list unfortunately :)

CoinGate team is happy to inform that we have enabled the option to buy Bitcoin with Mobile Credit!
So now you are able to buy a few Satoshi by calling or sending SMS to a premium number again. This feature is perfect if you'd like to buy a small amount of bitcoins, more or less worth of $50.

For the first turn, we have introduced buying Bitcoin with Mobile Credit in 19 countries: Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.

For the nearest future, we are going to expand this feature to other countries and allow to buy other cryptocurrencies with this method.
However, we would like to note that now we are asking users to register and verify their identity before making a purchase due to security reasons.
