Hello everyone!

We've just launched a feature that allows users to buy Bitcoin using mobile credit simply by sending a text message, or making a call to a premium number!
The payment is charged directly to your phone bill.

To buy Bitcoin with your mobile phone, no registration is needed, an no verification whatsoever!



To make this happen, we partnered with an Austrian carrier billing company DaoPay. We have rolled out in 9 European countries right now: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, Slovakia, and Spain; and we already have approval for 35+ countries, which will be added on gradually.

The feature is great for buying small amounts of Bitcoin ($5-$100 worth of), for example, when you are short a few mBTCs to make a purchase, or if you are just starting out with Bitcoin and are looking for an easy way to try it out. For people who get their mobile bills paid by employers, this is also a great way to cash out a few extra bucks at the end of the month

Is there any service charge if purchased from mobile credit? If I purchase for 5$ for example, 5$ is deducted from my mobile balance, will I get 5$ worth of Bitcoin or will it be less, if less, how much will we get?

It's great idea and i never think about buy bitcoin with mobile credit since the fee when you buy something with mobile credit is very high, so i wonder what's the rate/fee of your service.

A couple of you asked about the fees. It's always been very common for operators to put a big price premium on numbers dedicated to payment collection. In addition, due to the nature of the service, VAT is also included in the price. Therefore, depending on the country, the amount of Bitcoin paid out is around 20%-50% lower than the actual real-time value, as unfortunate as it is, and there's literally nothing we can do, as much as we would like to. Nonetheless, so far we've been quite successful with the new feature, and there are quite a few people who have bought bitcoins from us using this method. We're sure our numbers will only grow as there are plenty of use cases for this - using your leftover monthly balance, emptying SIP trunks, among others.

We've now added several more countries to our Mobile Purchase feature, and here's a complete list of countries currently supported for buying Bitcoin with mobile balance / phone credit (in some countries landline purchases are also available):
Austria, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Norway, Finland, Denmark, United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Greece, Poland, Cyprus, Hungary, Slovakia, Israel, Israel, and Canada.

So far 18 countries in total, with more coming soon...

This would be great service IMO, but the sad thing is my country (Philippines) is not supported yet for this, but I will wait until you added some countries included ours too.

I wish that you add more countries too as I am seeing that my country is still not in the list of supported countries. I will like to buy bitcoin with my mobile balance as it will be more convenient for me to buy bitcoin than any other way to buy. In my country it is a little hard to buy and mostly I use local exchanges to buy bitcoin.

Apologies, we missed your question! Prepaid credit is also supported, it does not have to be a regular phone bill for you to use the feature

Hello and sorry for the delayed response. There are fees, unfortunately, associated with the service, and they are primarily due to charges of phone carriers in various countries. Also, due to the nature of the service, there is a VAT included in the price. I wish we could have more control over this, but there are a lot of parties involved (different phone carriers in each country, to be precise), and they have the final saying and fees are in their hands. You can see an approximate number of bitcoins you will receive in the buy form, displayed just below the amount that will be billed to your phone.

Meanwhile, just to inform everyone, we now support Denmark, Czech Republic, Hungary and Israel!

Why don't you try to make a deal with Vodafone, which has already spreaded to sooo many countries. I mean thats at least what I wish for We have Vodafone here in Turkey and we're not in your previous list unfortunately
