Title: [ANN] CryptFolio.com - keep track of your cryptocurrencies!
Post by: soundasleep on May 01, 2013, 11:03:07 AM
Hey everyone,

Today we're releasing a public rewrite of a site that we've been using internally for about a year now.

Normally I have different amounts of different currencies on lots of different sites (e.g. BTC/LTC on BTC-e, BTC on Havelock Investments, BTC/LTC pool earnings, NMC on Vircurex, BTC/LTC/NMC on my own sites, ...), so I made a site that keeps track of how much is on which site, and compiles summary reports. It's so useful that we've developed it into a real site for the cryptocurrency professional: CryptFolio.

Some of the reports:

  • Total conversion (e.g. my net worth in USD or NZD)
  • Equivalent BTC (e.g. what % of my investments are in BTC, LTC, NMC, ...)
  • Distribution (e.g. what % of my LTC are in securities, exchanges, hot wallets, cold/offline wallets, LTC-enabled websites, ...)
  • Historical exchange rates (e.g. BTC/LTC on BTC-e)
  • Historical miner hashrates (e.g. MHash/s for BTC, KHash/s for LTC)

Features: (https://cryptfolio.com/features)

  • Cryptocurrencies: BTC, LTC, NMC, FTC, PPC, NVC, XPM, TRC, DOGE, XRP, MEC, DGC, WDC, IXC, VTC, NET, HBN, DRK, VRC, NXT, RDD, VIA, NBT new, NSR new (more coming)

  • Mining pools: 50BTC, BitMinter, BTC Guild, CoinHuntr, CryptoPools DGC, Cryptotroll DOGE, d2 WDC, dedicatedpool.com DOGE, Ecoining PPC, Eligius, Elitist Jerk, Eobot new, GHash.io, Give Me Coins, HashFaster (LTC, FTC, DOGE), Hash-to-coins new, lite.coin-pool.com, litecoinpool.org, LiteGuardian, Litepool.eu, ltc.kattare.com, Mine-Litecoin, Mining Foreman, MiningPool.co, Multipool, MuPool, NiceHash new, Nut2Pools FTC, nvc.khore.org, Ozcoin (LTC, BTC), Pool-x.eu, scryptpools.com, Slush's pool, TeamDoge, TripleMining, WeMineLTC, WeMineFTC, WestHash new, ypool.net (more coming)

Thanks for all your feedback! I'll be pushing out an update over the weekend including: Feathercoin support; will look into adding cryptostocks.com, flexcoin.com, Bitfunder, a bunch of LTC mining pools; and clean up some errors.

@icoin: Piwik.org is a web analytics package..?

I've pushed out an update today:

  • Added feathercoin support, using BTC-e as the preferred BTC/FTC exchange
  • Added Cryptostocks securities, using BTC and LTC
  • Added mining pool wallets: Slush's pool, WeMineLTC, give-me-ltc
  • Various bug fixes and layout improvements
  • Now accessible over Namecoin's .bit: http://cryptfolio.bit (e.g. through proxy.dotbit.me (http://proxy.dotbit.me/browse.php?u=http://cryptfolio.bit))

I couldn't add Flexcoin because AFAIK there's no API yet for retrieving balances (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=57732.msg2022077#msg2022077). I ran out of time today to add Bitfunder, but that's next.

Neat, can you support BIPS ? https://bips.me

I made read-only API for getting balance only because of cryptfolio.com just now.

Also BIPS supports exporting to Excel, PDF, HTML, I bet you can use that.

Thanks!

Nice work, something like this is needed ... too many asset classes to keep track of manually.

I've added tons of stuff today:

  • Added pages of historical data (http://cryptfolio.com/historical), where you can browse through historical ticker data (e.g. 180 days of Mt.Gox USD/BTC (http://cryptfolio.com/historical?id=mtgox_usdbtc_daily&days=180))
  • The range of your historical graphs can now be selected (from 45 days to 1 year)
  • Added exchange wallets: BIPS
  • Added mining pool wallets: BTC Guild and 50BTC
  • Cleaned up the external API status page (http://cryptfolio.com/external): you can see for example that Vircurex is down right now...
  • Invalid accounts or addresses now display relevant error messages
  • You can now change your e-mail address, or unsubscribe from e-mails at signup
  • Added some icons, tutorial boxes, reduced unnecessary graph whitespace
  • Lots of bug fixes and layout improvements

I sadly couldn't add BitFunder because their API is still under development. What fiat currency other than USD and NZD should I add next - I'm thinking either AUD or CAD?

Any plans to add bitfunder.com?

I tried to add Bitfunder last week, but their API is still unreleased/in private beta. I asked for an update (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=130117.msg2108200#msg2108200) but no response yet. Hopefully it's out soon; you could also post there and ask them nicely to release it sooner. ;)

Thanks! Yeah - I use it on my Android phone all the time through its web browser without any issue, but it's not using responsive design yet (future work).

Posted an update today with lots of interface improvements:

  • Created an announcements mailing list (http://groups.google.com/group/cryptfolio-announce) (hosted on Google Groups)
  • Added Euro support, using Mt.Gox, BTC-e or Vircurex as an exchange
  • Added technical indicators to all exchange and summary graphs: Simple Moving Average (SMA), Bollinger Bands (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bollinger_Bands) (BOLL), Relative Strength Index (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relative_strength_index) (RSI)
  • Graph types, sizes, date ranges, and technical indicator properties can now be updated from the graph itself
  • Cryptocurrency addresses can now have titles
  • Address and account lists can now be sorted
  • Improved the reliability and error reporting of certain jobs
  • Lots of bug fixes, layout improvements, and usability improvements

Unfortunately I don't have any historical EUR/BTC data yet for each of the exchanges, I'm trying to see if I can find some.

Worked on a massive update today:

  • Added AUD support, using Mt.Gox as an exchange
  • Rather than manually entering in BTC/LTC addresses, you can now import them from your bitcoin-qt or litecoin-qt client
  • Your miners' hashrates can now be tracked & graphed, if your pool reports it (still testing this feature!)
  • You can now track the value of individual Litecoin Global, BTCT.co or Cryptostocks securities (and this information is available publicly too (http://cryptfolio.com/historical), e.g. LTC-GLOBAL (http://cryptfolio.com/historical?id=securities_litecoinglobal_ltc&days=180&name=LTC-GLOBAL) or ASICMINER-PT (http://cryptfolio.com/historical?id=securities_btct_btc&days=180&name=ASICMINER-PT))
  • Added mining pool wallets: Hypernova and LTCMine.ru
  • When you sign up, you will now have an initial 24 hour period of frequent updates to get you up and going
  • Updated screenshots (http://cryptfolio.com/screenshots)
  • Lots of bug fixes and layout improvements

If you find CryptFolio useful, please consider purchasing a premium account - they let me host the site and add new features. :)

Thank you! Yes, adding Havelock Investments is a great idea! The API looks good - you can set up a key without trade permissions. I'll add it to the site in the next update. :)

Is there any way to get the number of seats owned by a particular user? I tried going into Settings but it said "for members only" (presumably because I don't own a seat).

Worked on an update today:

  • Added the Exponential moving average (EMA) technical indicator, with periods up to 300 days
  • Added support for Havelock Investments (https://www.havelockinvestments.com/) securities (BTC)
  • Added mining pool wallets: Mining Foreman (LTC)
  • Added external API (http://cryptfolio.com/external) status graphs (will take some days to be populated with enough data)
  • All Litecoin Global, BTCT and Havelock Investments securities will now be tracked, rather than just those purchased by users
  • Added historical composition graphs for each of your currencies, for example:
  • Inactive free accounts are now removed after 30 days of inactivity, to dedicate system resources for active users
  • Added status of the job queues (http://cryptfolio.com/external) for free and premium users
  • Improved e-mail notifications
  • Lots of bug fixes and usability improvements

Thank you for all the feedback and e-mails (support@cryptfolio.com) - keep them coming & I'll add what I can! My next big project is Coinotron's API but I'll need to deal with OAuth2...

For the curious: So far, the site's processed ~560k jobs, ~190k account balances, ~502k address balances and ~679k summaries.

Thanks for all the support and ideas :) Premium accounts help a lot.

Worked on a nice little update today:

  • Added currency support for PPCoin (http://ppcoin.org)
  • Added mining pool wallets: Mining Foreman (FTC)
  • All premium users can now access a generated "Your Securities" page that lists all of your held securities, and their current market value:
  • http://cryptfolio.com/img/screenshots/profile_securities_400.png (http://cryptfolio.com/screenshots#screenshots_profile_summary)
  • Report graphs now include a link through to historical data (http://cryptfolio.com/historical)
  • Partial premium account payments are now supported, but not recommended
  • Previous premium payments are now displayed on your user profile (http://cryptfolio.com/user#user_outstanding)
  • Updated BTC-e and Vircurex ticker supported currencies
  • Lots of bug fixes and usability improvements

Sure! I'll add this in the next update. I think I need to spend some time refactoring the currency infrastructure so adding a currency takes minutes, not an hour.

I'd rather not right now, since the API to get account balance requires your username and password, which would mean an attacker could make trades and transfers. CryptFolio is designed to be secure and read-only; even if there was a security breach your funds must remain safe.

I've submitted a support ticket to ask if CampBX can add a secure read-only balance API - I suggest you do the same! https://campbx.kayako.com/Tickets/Submit

Released a big update today:

  • Added fiat currency support for Canadian Dollars (CAD), using VirtEx or Mt.Gox
  • Added exchanges: VirtEx (CAD/BTC) and Bitstamp (USD/BTC)
  • Added mining pool wallets: BitMinter, LiteGuardian and Mine-Litecoin
  • Added fiat exchange rates from TheMoneyConverter (http://themoneyconverter.com) - once we get some data, we can look into adding arbitrage graphs
  • Currency composition graphs now include blockchain and offset values
  • Security values will now display wallet balance and securities value separately
  • Made it easier to add new graphs, by sorting graphs into categories:
  • Updated BTC-e ticker supported currencies
  • Lots of bug fixes and usability improvements

We're currently looking for experienced CryptFolio users that might be interested in writing up some tutorials or tips on how to use the site effectively - send me a PM if interested.

Not sure what the sign up thing is about.

CryptFolio is designed to track the values of your coins/securities/etc along with the values of individual securities. The historical charts for Btct/etc are a nice side effect. :)

We've been working very hard to update CryptFolio with some new features, including new wizards that make it much easier to add accounts and graphs to your reports.

With the pending closure of BTC-TC and Litecoin Global, we've added support for BitFunder securities to make the transition easier.

We're also now on Facebook - like us (http://facebook.com/cryptfolio)!

Just started using it. Looks really awesome.

One thing I would like to know, if there will be more cryptocurrency added.
Currently I have Novacoin and would like to see some reports for it.
Mining novacoin with nvc.khore.org (they have api key which you could use to retrieve account information)

Since BitFunder has closed to US customers, we've added a new feature that lets you value private shares (e.g. in ASICMINER) according to a public security exchange. e.g. If you own 10 ASICMINER shares privately, you can track the value of 10 ASICMINER shares if they were in Havelock Investments under AM1, or any of the other passthroughs. This way you don't have to have a security in an exchange to value it.

  • Added currency support for Novacoin (NVC)
  • Added nvc.khore.org mining pool support (NVC)
  • Added support for tracking individual/manual securities across any of the public securities exchanges
  • Added new "Your Currencies" graphs
  • Added a new "Your Currencies" page (available to all users), displaying all of the values of each of your accounts for each currency:
  • Lots of bug fixes and usability improvements

Yes - we can add any cryptocurrency that has an Abe port, we just don't want to add currencies that nobody will use :D

Yeah, the site's got a lot of new users right now (premium user delay (http://cryptfolio.com/external) recently peaked at 1.4 hours, normally it's 0-5 minutes). Once you've added accounts and addresses, you will get another e-mail when your first reports are ready, which should be within the next 30 minutes. The site automatically redistributes load over time.

Performance improvements, new exchanges, and a new homepage redesign in the update released today.

  • Added CEX.io and Crypto-Trade exchanges
  • Added new commodity currency GHS (from CEX.io)
  • Added CEX.io and Crypto-Trade wallet balances
  • Added Crypto-Trade securities
  • You can now "test" your accounts to force an update or to test that a new account works
  • Redesigned the home page, and added a new features (http://cryptfolio.com/features) page:
  • Performance improvements for adding addresses and accounts in the wizards
  • Lots of bug fixes and usability improvements

Internally we've been doing a lot of refactoring, and setting up unit and release tests.

I haven't tested signup with Wordpress but I'll double check this.

There was a bug where you couldn't log in without filling out some text in the OpenID field, this has now been fixed and you should be able to sign up right away. Thanks for pointing this bug out.

first of all: great site! i really like the way you can setup and arrange your own reports!
your subscription plan (free/premium [0.2 btc / 8 ltc per year]) is reasonable priced - i'm really looking forward to buy a year.
+1 for accepting LTC!

a few thoughts on your user interface:

- as a new user, i instantly clicked on "configure accounts", set up everything and then... was stucked at the question "how can i set up litecoins/altcoins".
your wizard automatically starts at the 2nd position "Accounts" instead of "Currencies" and i was really confused for about 30min, until i realised where to
define my currencies.

- this is just a minor issue, because it will become obsolete when all report are ready, but maybe you should recheck the way your report windows are moved up/down when arranging them the very first time.
i had some troubles with empty windows (where the report wasn't ready yet) having a slightly lower height than windows that already showed their graph. Those windows with a lower height blocked the windows that were located directly below them, because they snapped in the free space and broke the horizontal line, so they were unable to move further up.
Well, it's hard to explain, so maybe this illustration helps (that's how the bottom line of my upper row boxes looked like. [2 boxes with a graph, one without, 2 boxes with a graph])  _ _ -- _ _

- the only real issue i found is regarding the prices you fetch for Crypto-Trade Shares: I think those are the buy orders, right? It would be more precise to see the last trade price.
i.e. CT-LTC shows '15' (buy order) but it's actually '16' (last price where a trade was fullfilled).

Keep up the great work!

Best,
Grinny

P.S.: 2FA as an additional security layer would be cool.

Released a big update today:

  • Added exchanges: Bitstamp (USD/BTC)

Has Bitstamp disappeared from the exchanges list because of their 'new' API? Are you going to re-implement it in the near future?

Hi Grinny, thanks so much for your excellent feedback!

- as a new user, i instantly clicked on "configure accounts", set up everything and then... was stucked at the question "how can i set up litecoins/altcoins".

You're right, we'll fix this in the next update, so that everyone configures currencies first before configuring accounts. Normally the user flow starts at the currency selector anyway.

i had some troubles with empty windows (where the report wasn't ready yet) having a slightly lower height than windows that already showed their graph.

We'll look into this. Should be an easy fix.

Yeah, I've been wanting to rewrite the securities code to store both buy/sell/last. Originally CryptFolio only tracked securities for summary values, which is why only buy prices were tracked. Adding sell/last will take some time but it'll be done.

P.S.: 2FA as an additional security layer would be cool.

Because one can't ever execute trades/etc with data/keys stored in CryptFolio this is low priority, but this could be done through your OpenID provider - I don't know of any that support 2FA off the top of my head though.

Has Bitstamp disappeared from the exchanges list because of their 'new' API? Are you going to re-implement it in the near future?

No, we never implemented Bitstamp wallet API because their old API required username/password. I'm glad Bitstamp is now using permission-based keys though, we can add Bitstamp in the next update :D

The next update will be in the next two weeks or so, and it will be a big one. Thank you to everyone who's purchased premium accounts to support the site - we will be moving to two new servers around the time of the next update, which will make the site much faster and we can then add SSL. The migration will be posted on our Twitter (http://twitter.com/cryptfolio) and Facebook (http://facebook.com/cryptfolio) so follow them for status updates.

The Bitstamp API was updated in September:

https://www.bitstamp.net/account/security/api/

More or less the same code as CEX.IO API:

example:
             message = nonce + client_id + api_key
             signature = hmac.new(API_SECRET, msg=message, digestmod=hashlib.sha256).hexdigest().upper()

-- customer

The Bitstamp API was updated in September:

The last time we tried to add Bitstamp was in August. When we requested a permissions API Bitstamp replied saying they'd let us know when the API was updated, we never got any notification.

Nevertheless Bitstamp wallets will be added to CryptFolio in the next few days and we'll update everyone via this thread, Twitter (https://twitter.com/cryptfolio), Facebook (https://facebook.com/cryptfolio) and the mailing list (http://groups.google.com/group/cryptfolio-announce).

If you have been watchin the mining pools the last couple of months, you would have noticed this newcomer, behemoth,   called GHASH.IO  (mcxnow's mining server).

https://blockchain.info/pools

On the graph you can see in order of magnitude:  Ghash.io (28%), BTC Guild (25%), Unknown (16%), etc.

This is from the new and exploding open market for cloud-based bitcoin mining GHS.

Do you think you could add this?  Or is it possible for me to create a modules?

CryptFolio already supports the CEX.io GHS commodity and your current BTC balance, added in the last update - they've recently added NMC/etc merged mining so soon this will be also tracked in CryptFolio.

Over the last 48 hours we've migrated from shared hosting to two new servers, and the move seems to have gone well (with only 20 minutes of downtime). The site is now much faster and supports more concurrent requests. Thank you again to everyone who has supported the site so far with your premium purchases!

Today we're releasing an update, mostly of bug fixes and cleanups:

  • Moved to two new servers to improve performance
  • Added Bitstamp wallet balance
  • Added 769 Xchange securities exchange and individual securities
  • Added ltc.kattare.com mining pool
  • Individual securities will now also display on your Your Securities (http://cryptfolio.com/profile?securities=1) page
  • Multiple securities will no longer be displayed on your Your Securities (http://cryptfolio.com/profile?securities=1) page
  • Configure Accounts will now default to Your Currencies wizard page first (thanks Grinny)
  • Fixed bug where removing Securities Exchanges accounts would not remove some data from your reports
  • Enabled NVC hashrate tracking
  • Lots of bug fixes and usability improvements

In the next week we'll be working on another update. Please let us know (http://cryptfolio.com/contact) if you find any issues with the server move.

Due to the changes in market prices for Bitcoin and Litecoin, we've dropped the prices for CryptFolio premium accounts effective immediately.

Premium accounts (http://cryptfolio.com/premium) help pay for server costs and maintenence; give you access to exclusive features such as graph pages and technical indicators; and your accounts, addresses and summaries will be updated every hour (instead of every 12 hours for free users). Current prices:

Bitcoin: 0.01 BTC per month, or 0.1 BTC per year
Litecoin: 0.5 LTC per month, or 5 LTC per year

We're also participating in Bitcoin Black Friday (http://www.bitcoinblackfriday.com/) - this Friday only, get 75% off CryptFolio premium accounts!

Thanks to everyone who is currently supporting CryptFolio with a premium account.

Sorry for the daft question.

Does that mean a Years service on BTC Black Friday will be 0.025BTC?

Currently prices are 50% off because we're still in early beta, so a year of premium on Friday will be 0.05 BTC (75% off the normal price of 0.2 BTC/year). The Black Friday prices are listed on the home page. :)

Today we're releasing a huge update:

  • Enabled site-wide SSL, https://cryptfolio.com - you may need to reauthenticate with your OpenID provider
  • Added support for Primecoin (XPM) cryptocurrency
  • Added support for Chinese yuan (CNY) fiat currency
  • Added support for Eligius, Litepool, CoinHuntr and lite.coin-pool.com mining pools
  • Added support for BTC China (CNY/BTC) and Cryptsy (many alt-coins) exchanges - we cannot add wallet balances yet, since these APIs are not read-only (http://cryptfolio.com/help)
  • Enabled NMC support on CEX.io wallet balances
  • Graphs are now loaded asynchronously, making viewing your reports (http://cryptfolio.com/profile) much faster
  • Graphs will now display the most recent value (e.g. exchange rates) as a subheading
  • Failing accounts will now be disabled automatically after repeated failures
  • Added more graph colours, particularly for the historical composition graphs
  • Lots of bug fixes, usability and performance improvements

There are some pretty big architectural changes in this update, but it has been tested thoroughly, so please let us know if you see any errors.

This all very nice but why do you need an open id. Just for some stats. Why would we give you this information. Just a login should be enough.

And you are asking everyone who uses this to trust you with there financial information.

Why should we trust you.

And you are asking everyone who uses this to trust you with there financial information.

Why should we trust you.

An OpenID is at least as secure as username/password, if not more secure. OpenID is as secure as your OpenID provider, and even if you don't trust Google/etc you can roll your own. Check out this StackOverflow thread (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3191531/how-safe-is-openid) - the main issue is the security of the OpenID provider (such as Google), not the consumer (CryptFolio). An OpenID is just a URL - there is no other personal information. You can't tie an OpenID to an e-mail address, for example.

Not storing usernames/passwords also means that even if the site was hacked and data leaked, nobody could use that data for anything (except associate accounts to OpenID URLs). This site takes security very seriously. That's also why all accounts must have read-only access (and why we can't add Cryptsy, BTC China etc yet).

If you don't like sharing OpenIDs, you can always create a new OpenID with another provider using a traditional username/password and use that OpenID exclusively for CryptFolio. You can also add fake data.

Finally you can also deploy your own instance of Openclerk (http://openclerk.org) locally and run the exact same software that CryptFolio is based on.

What's the easiest way of creating an OpenID account?

Check out http://openid.net/get-an-openid/ - you probably already have an OpenID account with Google, Blogspot, LiveJournal...

hey soundasleep,

i finally managed to configure all aspects of my cryptfolio account and just wanted to say that you did an excellent job with it and that i really like your site.

one minor/cosmetical fix i would appreciate in the future: all table reports like "USD balances", "BTC balances", "LTC balances" etc. show a grey scroll bar on the bottom and on the right side of their box.
this doesn't look so good and destroys the clean and simple black design. so maybe you can eliminate those scroll bars some day ;)

and am i wrong or are not all graphs beeing updated automatically every 10 minutes? some of them show "45 min ago" even though i'm premium user.

one last thing: maybe you can add those two new IPOs from crypto-trade to the securities section?
- GALTS-GULCH-ORGANIC https://www.crypto-trade.com/tradex/ipo/ggb_btc
- ACTIVEMININGCORP https://www.crypto-trade.com/tradex/ipo/amc_btc

thanks :)

best,
Grinny

Coinbase support is planned, I just need to write an OAuth2 connector (it's the only API that requires user interaction rather than API keys). Ghash.io is supported through cex.io, I can't see any API through ghash.io directly - I've emailed the webmaster asking for them to add an API.

one minor/cosmetical fix i would appreciate in the future: all table reports like "USD balances", "BTC balances", "LTC balances" etc. show a grey scroll bar on the bottom and on the right side of their box.

There shouldn't be any scrollbars displayed if the table is smaller than the graph. Try resizing the enclosing graph by editing the graph layout. I'll check out the default layouts though and make sure they're looking good for new users.

and am i wrong or are not all graphs beeing updated automatically every 10 minutes? some of them show "45 min ago" even though i'm premium user.

The graphs are being updated every 10 minutes - it's the underlying data that might not be updated so often. BTC/USD etc will be updated every 2-10 minutes, but your account data such as summaries will still only be updated once every hour (if you're a premium user). I don't think I can increase the account data update rate until we move to a faster server.

Basically, data is updated on a separate server rather than on request. This means you don't need to log into your account every hour so that they update. I've updated the knowledge base article on graph live updates (https://cryptfolio.com/help/graph_refresh).

one last thing: maybe you can add those two new IPOs from crypto-trade to the securities section?

Sure! Other exchanges have their securities updated automatically, but when I added Crypto-Trade they didn't have any API to list available securities.

Any plans to add PTS? (http://protoshares.com)

Sure - we'll check it out and see how hard it will be to add PTS.

Today we're releasing 0.16, which adds a new major (optional) feature - automated e-mail notifications.

For example, you may want to be reminded if:

  • Exchange rate on Bitstamp for USD/BTC decreases by 10% within the last day
  • My converted USD increases by 10% within the last day
  • My total LTC hashrate is below 0.1 MH/s within the last hour

Notifications are still experimental so there are bound to be some bugs - you can try them out in your notifications wizard (https://cryptfolio.com/wizard_notifications).

  • Added automated notifications (https://cryptfolio.com/help/notifications) for exchange rates, reports and hashrates
  • Many graphs can now show changes (absolute value/percent value), and these can also have technical indicators:
  • https://cryptfolio.com/img/screenshots/graphs_delta_600.png (https://cryptfolio.com/img/screenshots/graphs_delta.png)
  • Added currency support for Ripple (XRP) and Polish zloty (PLN)
  • Added Justcoin and Bitcurex exchanges
  • Added HashFaster DOGE, Multipool, WeMineFTC and ypool.net mining pools
  • Added GGB and AMC Crypto-Trade securities
  • Disabled the 50BTC mining pool, since it no longer has an API
  • Updated the example graph screenshots used when adding new graphs
  • Improved the historical data (https://cryptfolio.com/historical) interface, and various improvements to site performance
  • LTC premium prices (https://cryptfolio.com/premium) have been reduced by 40%
  • Lots of other bug fixes and usability improvements

I selected Bitcoin , Litecoin and Ripple as currencies, but on the next screen, only BTC and LTC accounts are available. No way to enter Ripple...seems odd. Or is it a premium feature?

We support Ripple as much as Ripple currently can be supported (https://cryptfolio.com/help/add_currency). There is no blockchain explorer that provides balances for an address, so we're waiting for one to appear. We have plans in the far future to run our own blockchain explorers for each crypto when the site can afford to.

  • Bitstamp is now the default USD/BTC exchange instead of Mt.Gox
  • Added Coinbase exchange and wallet support
  • Added GHash.io mining hashrate support - note however the GHash.io hashrate API appears to be broken (https://support.cex.io/entries/38145493-GHash-IO-Hashrate-API-returning-Permission-Denied)

How very odd. Never seen that error before. Fixed it a couple of hours ago and put some fixes in place to prevent it from happening again. Thanks for the heads up. :)

Yes, please.

Also, any plans or progress for PoS type assets? Like BitShares PTS or NXT?

Hi,

Is the Blockchain.info wallet supported? It would be nice if I can connect cryptfolio to my blockchain.info wallet, so every time I add a new address, it is automatically watched in cryptfolio.

there it says, add security exchanges.

Can you explane me what security exchanges are?
And what does Openclerk do exactly?

Thanks

Today we're releasing 0.21, which adds password login. Over the last week we've been upgrading our servers and purchasing a third server to make everything much faster. This release has also involved a rewrite of the project build scripts and tests, so we can prepare for adding some great features in the future.

  • Added support for e-mail/password signup and login
  • Upgraded all servers and purchased a third server
  • Openclerk (http://openclerk.org) now uses Grunt for its build, uses SASS rather than CSS, and supports site extensions natively
  • Fixed ypool.net accounts
  • Fixed Terracoin and Novacoin addresses not updating
  • Various bug fixes and usability improvements

If you have had issues with your existing Bitstamp accounts no longer working in CryptFolio, please note that Bitstamp revoked all API keys due to Heartbleed and you will have to add your Bitstamp accounts again.

If you'd like to contribute to the development of the underlying Openclerk open source software, please consider purchasing a premium account (https://cryptfolio.com/premium) or donating (http://code.google.com/p/openclerk/wiki/Donating).

Security exchanges are sites like Bitfunder, Crypto-stocks, the defunct Litecoin Global etc, where you can trade "securities" of things like companies, websites, co-op groups etc. It has nothing to do with account security, for example. In CryptFolio you'll see "Add Security Exchanges" has the same interface as adding mining pool accounts, currency exchange accounts, etc.

Openclerk is the underlying source code powering most of CryptFolio - for example, the code to retrieve balances, to generate reports, to send notifications. You can also deploy an instance of Openclerk yourself if you don't trust the security of CryptFolio, though this does come with a significant maintenance burden. You can check it out here: http://openclerk.org

Thank you for your quick reply back.

The security part is clear to me now, tnx
however the second part is not clear just yet.

You are saying that openclerk is used to retrieve data for the balances. But I thought that information is retrieved by the API issued by for e.g. BTC-e.com. If this is not the case where do we need the BTC-e API for.

Regards

The BTC-e API provides the data; Openclerk downloads the data, then performs calculations to create your summaries (such as the equivalent value of all your cryptocurrencies in USD), and also stores historical data so you can see graphs (and some other cool features coming soon). If you only used the BTC-e API you wouldn't be able to get that functionality directly.

Today we're releasing 0.22, which adds some really exciting features: market price averages (https://cryptfolio.com/average) (for all supported currency pairs), the start of a new major feature through Your Transactions (https://cryptfolio.com/help/transaction_creation); and better user interfaces.

Market Price Averages

  • Added market price averages (https://cryptfolio.com/average) for every supported currency pair, from every currently supported exchange:
  • https://cryptfolio.com/img/screenshots/market_averages_400.png (https://cryptfolio.com/average)
  • These market price averages can also be used for your summary calculations; more exchanges will be added in the future to provide better data
  • For example, USD/BTC (https://cryptfolio.com/average?currency1=usd&currency2=btc#average_usd), BTC/LTC (https://cryptfolio.com/average?currency1=btc&currency2=ltc#average_btc), BTC/NMC (https://cryptfolio.com/average?currency1=btc&currency2=nmc#average_btc), ...

Your Transactions

  • Automatically generate historical daily transactions for all of your accounts, mining pools, and addresses
  • https://cryptfolio.com/img/screenshots/your_transactions_400.png (https://cryptfolio.com/help/transaction_creation)
  • You can enable or disable automatic transaction generation per account, or regenerate historical transactions at any time
  • This feature is still under development, so there may be some weird issues - please let us know (https://cryptfolio.com/contact)
  • In the future, you will be able to edit, delete or create individual transactions, and export these to CSV

Interface improvements

  • Your accounts can now be disabled through your wizards, to preserve historical data for dead accounts
  • You will now be notified when your graphs may be out of date due to recently added or removed accounts:
  • Added more graph sizes: "Huge" (880px) and "Massive" (1100px)

Other changes

  • Added Kraken exchange support
  • Added South Korean won (KRW) fiat currency support
  • Fixed a bug where deleting an account would not delete historical hashrate data
  • Added RapidHash DOGE, RapidHash VTC and Cryptotroll DOGE mining pools
  • Fixed DGC and WDC addresses to use new CCE3 interface
  • Various bug fixes and usability improvements

If you'd like to contribute to the development of the underlying Openclerk open source software, please consider purchasing a premium account (https://cryptfolio.com/premium) or donating (http://code.google.com/p/openclerk/wiki/Donating).

Today we're releasing 0.23, which adds some functionality that builds on the new CryptFolio Finance (https://cryptfolio.com/your_transactions) functionality.

  • Added manual transaction creation
  • Added transaction categories
  • Your Transactions can now also display the daily market average (https://cryptfolio.com/average) exchange rates for each transaction - useful for tax or accounting purposes
  • Added transactions export to CSV for premium users (https://cryptfolio.com/premium)
  • Disabled accounts no longer count towards account limits

If you had a CEX.io or GHash.io account that has recently been failing, you will need to create a new API key for CEX.io/GHash.io and add it again to CryptFolio. It looks like CEX.io removed all existing API keys without notice.

We're also in the process of upgrading the site to support multiple languages (i18n). If you would like to contribute to the translation of Openclerk, please get in touch.

Today we're releasing 0.24, which translates CryptFolio into the following languages:

  • German
  • English
  • French
  • Japanese
  • Russian
  • Chinese (Simplified)

Almost all content is translated, except for the account-specific help files (https://cryptfolio.com/help); these will be translated in a future release. To change your language, select the new language selector in the top-right corner on any page.

These first languages are mostly machine translated, and we would love any help to improve the translations (https://code.google.com/p/openclerk/wiki/HelpTranslate) of the Openclerk project. To help in the translation of Openclerk, join the Openclerk Transifex project page (https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/openclerk/).

Address balances for the FTC, DGC, WDC, NVC, TRC & PPC coins are temporarily unavailable, as CryptoCoin Explorer has decided to discontinue these explorers (http://www.cryptocoinexplorer.com/discon/index.html). Please consider donating to CCE (http://www.cryptocoinexplorer.com/sponsor) for your favourite coin; otherwise we will be moving to alternative explorers shortly.

Just signed up and have to say this site would be AMAZING if I didnt only use bitcoin. Tracking all your different coins is probably a huge pain but with this site it would probably make it much easier. However since I only use bitcoin its not really that useful to me, the blockchain wallet shows the balances of all my wallets in btc and fiat value.

I ordered the premuim but I still getting the free stuff.. Why doesn't it switch to premuim after I buy it via BTC 0.1  ?

I tried to email support but no answer. I paid for 1/year of premuim and I should get a refund if I don't get it.

I didn't get the service I paid for.... why??? Please help me.

I checked your account and it looks like you do already have a year of premium? It takes six confirmations for a payment to be received and then it can take a little bit of time to process (depending on system load). Sorry for any confusion!

Thank you for the support :D (she*)

Surprised to not see Dash, Monero & Shadow on your list of supported coins. Any thought on these?
I suppose we could fork from openclerk.org and add them ourselves. Just curious.

You are welcome to vote for new coins (https://cryptfolio.com/vote_coins) to be added in the future :)

You can also directly fork some of the Openclerk components such as openclerk/cryptocurrences (https://github.com/openclerk/cryptocurrencies) and add support there.

You can add support by forking and extending the openclerk/mining-pools component: https://github.com/openclerk/mining-pools

Otherwise I've added it to the feature request list and will add support when we can :)

I tried to sign up on your service. I give it up after three attempts. Why is it not impossible just to sign up with an email address and a password? Is it really a must to sign up over one of the listed services (Google, Facebook, Stackexchange, Blogspot, etc) ?  ::)

Hi everyone,

Last year we began a full redevelopment of CryptFolio (https://cryptfolio.com), with a new, modern mobile-first design; a commitment to user experience; and a cleaner, long-term platform view. Our goal is to provide helpful services for both inexperienced and established crypto users, and to improve the quality of our software and the wider crypto ecosystem.

I'm happy to share that the new site is now live and fully functional!

Thank you to everyone who has suggested features in the past - we've implemented many of these on our new site (including support for Ethereum etc) as part of our new architecture, and we want to add more.

Check out our new thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3329824.new#new (We lost access to our original account when bitcointalk got hacked...)

---

EDIT: For those users with existing CryptFolio accounts, check out our migration guide (https://support.cryptfolio.com/i62-migration-from-old-cryptfolio-com). Essentially:

  • old.cryptfolio.com (https://old.cryptfolio.com) will remain fully operational until at least April 2018.
  • A migration tool is currently under development - sign up here for updates (https://goo.gl/forms/JcQ1xG16E4pfJMaG2).
  • The migration tool will allow you to connect with your old.cryptfolio.com account, and retrieve a copy of all of your accounts and offsets - including exchanges and wallets that are no longer operational.
  • Your premium account status (https://cryptfolio.com/pricing) will also be copied over.
  • When we need to take the old site down, we will send an email notification to all users. This will include an option to either migrate your account to the new site, download your existing account data, or delete your old account.
  • Your old accounts will not be used, processed or sold in any other way.
