Title: CoinBomb.com has just launched!
Post by: CoinBomb on May 05, 2013, 09:53:46 AM
CoinBomb has just launched! You can check it out at http://www.coinbomb.com.

Coin Bomb is is similar to the game Hot Potato, once a bomb is bought (grabbed) then a countdown timer will start. The owner of the bomb then has 24 hours to find someone else to buy their bomb for up to 35% profit, or can buy the bomb again themselves for another 24 hours on the clock. Fail to sell the bomb and it will explode and the person holding the bomb will only get a consolation prize of up to 20% of the profit so far, so make sure to tell everyone in order to get the bomb out of your hands! If they do manage to sell the bomb then they will receive their original purchase price plus interest. Each time the bomb is grabbed the price goes up

Anyone wants to take a hold of my bomb at coinbomb will be appreciated.. take BOMBERMAN for me :D
During this period of BTC and LTC mining incremental difficulties... good to have some other source to make up the loss time.

thanks :D

I just witnessed the gigaton bomb running out of time. It was at 0.625 BTC (+0.625 BTC profit), awaiting payment, and when the timer hit 0:00:00 it reset to 12:00:00 at the same price again. What's up with that?

i dont understand, how is it available for one round when it has already been bought and i can now buy it?

One round means once it blows up, it's gone.  Every time someone purchases a bomb it's timer goes back to 24 hours.  If this timer ever gets to 0 the person holding it loses, and the round is over.

So, the bomb has been purchased but hasn't blown up yet, so it's still the same round.

I've had good luck with Bitpotato in the past, so I decided to give these guys a try.

Claimed my bomb, paid for it, and the bomb was mine after two confirms.  No problems there.

A few hours went by, my bomb sold.  As soon as it sold I had received a transaction with my payout!  Ended up making about 2 LTC.

So, I can confirm that this service is legit!  Buy bombs with no fear!

But, again, know what you're getting in to.  There is a chance you could lose, which would result in you losing most of your coins.  Don't risk anything you're not willing to lose.

Bear in mind that coinbomb is currently using a bot to lock out every potato on bitpotato right now just to advertise their URL. This is costing people money because their potatoes will expire without anyone being able to buy them. This is the kind of immoral and irresponsible behavior you do not want in people holding your LTC should something go wrong. Avoid.

There really isn't a good description of how things work, so I'll do my best.  The same applies for bitpotato.

There are 3 different states a bomb may be in

Countdown state - This when when the bomb/potato is available to purchase.  The timer shows how much longer until the bomb/potato expires.

Awaiting payment - Someone has clicked the button to purchase the bomb/potato.  The person now has a set amount of time (usually around 5 minutes) to send the coins to the correct address.  The main timer isn't counting down during this state.  If time expires and a payment hasn't been sent, it will go back into the countdown state for someone else to claim.

Verifying payment - This state is entered when coins have been received.  The potato is locked and waiting for the transaction to get some confirms.  Once a certain number of confirms have occurred, the bomb/potato's price is increased and the potato goes back into the countdown state.  This usually takes anywhere from 8-15 minutes, and I think they allow up to 2 hours for this.

Things work slightly different for coinbomb and bitpotato, so be sure to watch for a bit and observe before you get in there and start bidding.

Please don't spread slanderous rumours, we had absolutely no part in whoever was doing that. Do note that they were also advertising cryptobounty and bitcoinsforpaypal which we have zero affiliation with. Most likely thing is bitpotato has made someone upset for some reason. The owner of bitpotato (tralawar) is notorious for slandering the competition with lies. (Proof here: http://trollboxarchive.com/search.php?search_type=username&search=tralawar)

So you request that i do not make a 'slanderous rumour' and proceed to make one of your own? It seems you have displayed your discontent and therefore motive for doing such a thing to the bitpotato site. I think you wont be doing it again.

Sorry, one of our admins got a little heavy handed with his words. we edited the post before you'd replied though.

to do something again implies there was a first time. There was not. As we've also told you on twitter. Are you a part of bitpotato too?

Another accusation. Isn't this just the most professional team. I obviously do not work for bitpotato, i deeply sympathised with the 6 potato holders that had no hope of selling when the whole site was being locked out and lost over 350ltc between them.

edit: and i see you have taken to the bitpotato thread to further publicise and hypocritically slander their team. You wont last long, not with this kind of unprofessionalism.

Title: Re: CoinBomb.com has just launched!

There was no accusation there - it was a question.

(PS - as I understand it, no one lost anything during that time, when the potatos are locked, the main timer is unaffected)

Our position on the matter is now stated....Returning to regular programming.

Title: Re: CoinBomb.com has just launched!
Post by: CoinBomb on May 10, 2013, 01:42:09 PM
you mean the BOMB...right? ;)

there are no random resets on coinbomb.com The only reset is when the main timer hits 0, then the round is over.

The timer restarts at 24 hours (or whatever the round length is on that bomb) when someone purchases.

uh...sorry about the potato reference, not enough coffee yet this morning.  ???

These sites are great, with the mining difficulty increasing and the current stagnant/slow exchanges, it is difficult to make much profit right now. Hope I don't get blown up!!!  :'(

It would be nice if the transactions were a bit quicker.

Unfortunately we can't do much about that, we have the transaction confirmation as low as we can go while still ensuring the site will run properly for everyone involved.

The only remaining factor is the time it takes for your transaction to get included into a block and the subsequent blocks that confirm it. Adding a fee to your transaction will usually get it into the next mined block, transactions without fees will sometimes not make it into a block within time, if that is the case email us at admin@coinbomb.com and we will look into it for you.

MIRV BOMB LAUNCHED!

New bomb type : MIRV

This bomb, in addition to having a massive profit / multiplier has one completely new feature. When it expires, it will split into 4 smaller bombs (still with a higher than usual profit)!

Check it out!

My main complaint would have to be the UI of this site.  Everything works fine, but the UI is just terrible.  All the font looks the same, and it's all much larger than it needs to be.  The 5th bomb is kind of down there by itself.  Also, add some borders around the bomb information!  It is hard to see where one bomb's information ends and the other begins.

With that said, the prices start much lower on this site than bitpotato.  I know it seems like a small thing, but it's actually a HUGE difference.  Each bomb is purchased maybe 7-9 times before finally reaching a price where no one will purchase it.  This results in a LOT more winners.  Their win amounts may be smaller, but there are more winners.

Another problem would have to be traffic.  If Bitpotato or coinbomb were to implement something which showed how many visitors were currently at the site, I think it would drastically help!  If a ton of people are there, there's a good chance I'll buy a bomb or potato.

Since using coinbomb, bitpotato, and almost all the other game like this very frequently, I can honestly say that coinbomb is better and has their shit together more than bitpotato and the others.  On bitpotato, no one even buys the potatoes anymore past the 3rd and sometimes the 2nd purchase, so if you don't beat the bots when the reset occurs, you're going to lose money if you buy a potato.

Reasons why Coinbomb is better:

•Unsuccessful locks will extend the main timer by the same amount of time.
•The verification process seems to go faster on coinbomb.
•The 24 hour timers are awesome and should stay that way.
•The amount remaining to pay is nice to see (because you can see if the person is actually trying to pay for it).
•It's way easier to get a bomb.
•The timers don't lag if you stay on the page for a long time.
•The one-time bombs that appear allow for a huge profit and are a nice change up.
•Supports LTC as well as BTC.

Coinbomb is amazing and seems all around more stable.  I hope things stay this great. Thank you guys for creating such a great site.

This is interesting. Where is the 50% bomb and 75% bomb. Also, asking that users don't use BTC, but then ask for BTC address so we have to do the conversion for LTC?!

Lastro : I think you've misunderstood. BTC-E is a popular exchange (http://www.btc-e.com), but withdrawing from them to us directly is a problem (as they batch outgoing payments) - they frequently come in late, meaning the player has missed their chance to purchase, and we need to refund. We accept both BTC and LTC payments (click the drop down selector in the top right of the page)

Explained to you in the bitpotato thread.  Not everyone who honestly enjoys something works for the company. With your logic, if someone says they like Coke better than Pepsi and states their reasoning, you would say that person works for Coke.  Everything isn't a conspiracy.

Title: Re: CoinBomb.com has just launched!

Doesn't this rely on people gullible enough to buy it? You buy it. Then you start a spam campaign to sell it for 24 hours. When you can't find someone gullible enough to buy it, you lose money.

So I guess the way to determine if it is a good investment is the gullibility of the contacts you plan to sell to. Altcoin forums are probably a hoot!

I can think of less stressful ways to have fun and make money in 24 hours. Hint: get a job.

Might want to stay away from this site, been a lot of complaints about coinbomb stealing peoples btc and ltc, some people are saying they will sue too -
Sorry dude, but that sounds like FUD somebody waiting to pick up some cheap bombs ;)
There are plenty of sites like it, and if I wanted a cheap bomb I would just wait for a reset, or buy the LTC bombs that are already cheap -...  I rather use Satoshi dice -

All payments can be verified on the block chain. We're not out to take anyone's money - or DDOS. Demoniality - give it a rest. We've spoken with the BitPotato staff - there's no beef there, we're both competitors, but that helps EVERYONE raise their game.

I've been talking in both threads.  I like both sites.  I'm trying to get both sites exposure. Competition means both sites will strive to be better.  Exactly what he said.  Also, the more popular both sites are the more players, and the more players the better your chances of winning.

I can 100% absolutely confirm that coinbomb does pay out.  I've been playing with them for a few days and I've received all of my payouts as soon as the next purchase is confirmed (same at BitPotato).  Like he said, you can verify this by looking at the blockchain if you want.  They provide links to transactions in the previous winners section.

I've offered some suggestions in previous posts.  I love the interesting things like one time bombs and the splitting MIRV bomb.  One thing I think is sorely missing is a quick action bomb.  The 24 hour bombs are great for big amounts.  I would love to see a couple 12 hour bombs just to keep things interesting all the time.

Good suggestions. As for quick action, there is one 6 hour bomb (sub Mirv). Another 100% interest bomb would also be nice.. although kinda tricky because of the huge multiplier I guess ;)

I like Coinbomb's overall site layout better than bitpotato's, but I guess both sites work fine.

coastermonger : unfortunately, this is a problem with the bitcoin community at large. Any new site comes up, everyone screams "SCAM" - think about it. how would we EVER be able to drain a users wallet? they send money to us, and that's it. We dont have any other access to ANY information, wallets, etc. It truely is an uphill battle with some people, instead of forming an informed opinion, they jump in with absolutely no facts.

It is absolutely awful that this user got his wallet drained, and I truely feel sorry for him (there are some AWFUL people in the world :( ) - but if you read carefully, he says the ONLY REASON he has any money LEFT is because some of it was tied up with us and another site.

ok so is this a game of chance or skill? it seems like it would take some skill to determine by probability the likelihood of making a profit but it does also seem like just straight chance.

Title: Re: CoinBomb.com has just launched!

I'd say its a mixture of both.

There is skill (/experience) in judging what the top of the market is.
There is also a luck factor involved.

Grab a bomb early, and your chances to see a return increase dramatically.

It's really combination of observing, skill, luck, and just how big your balls are.

There have been times I've bought a bomb and instantly regretted it.  I've lost some money due to bad purchases, but I've also made a ton of money from some of these purchases.  It's really just a matter of how brave you are.

Your "braveness" is gambling, nothing more. As long as you think that's what you have to do to be brave you are in an high danger of losing all your money.

When there are more than 4 bombs, the last few get pushed down to a second row.  Since your bombs are so tall, I feel like no one will see these lower bombs, so no one will buy them.  Seems kind of unfair honestly.

The styling changes have made things look a lot better though.  I still think the font on the bombs is too large and all looks too similar, but it definitely has improved.

Each time the bomb is grabbed the price goes up
I checked it out its awesome thanks!

Post by: BTCoder on May 14, 2013, 08:46:59 PM
I just witnessed the gigaton bomb running out of time. It was at 0.625 BTC (+0.625 BTC profit), awaiting payment, and when the timer hit 0:00:00 it reset to 12:00:00 at the same price again. What's up with that?

Your still awaiting payment hopefully you get it soon.

Nice idea, good work!

One possible problem: if you click grab bomb and then change idea, will the bomb stay locked for everyone else for 5 minutes?
i.e. can someone chain-lock a bomb preventing anyone from grabbing it?
(I've noticed someone stating that the timer won't go down during that period, and that's good)

Dear Coinbomb owner and friends,

Does anyone know the odds involved in this kind of "Hot Potato" game?

I mean: at least an estimation about the gambler's odds and the house's odds.

It seems that game is not 50/50, right?

Is it, at least, +EV (positive expected value) for the gambler?

Is there any documentation about that topic around?

Maybe that info could be included in the FAQ section.

It's not 50/50, someone grab your bomb = win if not = you loose
Look the price of bomb max bet etc untill the timer reset ;)

I advice to watch some rounds to evaluate before starting playing ;)

Do you know some more games of different styles, not clones of this?

Satoshidice is fun too but completely different :)
Satoshidice is pure-luck, hence it's not a game, it's "just plain gambling".

ok guys, some BIG CHANGES just uploaded!

The site now uses PUSH notifications. That means bomb updates/drops will be near instant. No more missing bomb drops, and needing to refresh.

NEW BOMB : GROUP BOMB

We all know these type of games have a ceiling - the value of the bomb just gets too high, and no one buys. NOT ANYMORE.

Players pool their funds together to buy the bombs, so (for instance) 3 players can buy at a level, and all get the same % profit on their investment. Check out the FAQ for more details.

Bombs start as normal, and then become group buys as they get too high. Watch the Saturation / Carpet bombs.

The Carpet Bomb has not converted to a Group bomb yet - It will do so if the timer runs down far enough. We have updated the site to make it clearer which bombs are group bombs when trying to grab one. We will look into other ways to make it more obvious too.

I saw the 0.5 BTC come in and will refund it to you as soon as it has confirmed in the block chain.

Title: Re: CoinBomb.com has just launched!

We're using this one as a test. Currently we have it set to if the timer goes below 80% of its starting value it will convert across to a group bomb (so, at about 19 hours on a standard bomb) - this gives people the chance to grab it as a single buyer, and lock in 100% of the profit if they wish.

Your site looks good.
One suggestion:
Implement some sort of consolation prize.

For example a bomb with 1.5 multiplier and 25% gain could have a consolation price of 30% for the last player,
meaning he gets 30% of the coins he paid back. This would leave you with 20% of the last price as profit (+part of the initial value) and nobody would have to risk everything.

Title: Re: CoinBomb.com has just launched!
Post by: CoinBomb on May 27, 2013, 08:14:24 PM
Macros : The consolation prize on other sites doesn't work like that. You get 30% of the profit made. so, 30% of 25% = 7.5% of each round - its barely worth it - we initially started with a consolation prize, but moved to an instant win system. that way you can get your entire purchase price back instantly, then on sale, get it back AGAIN with the profit. (upto 200% profit on special bombs)

Also - we don't keep all of the payment on the last round. Each payment goes backwards to the last owner.

Title: Re: CoinBomb.com has just launched!
Post by: macros on May 27, 2013, 08:40:30 PM
Thank you for the answer, but I know my math ;)
A "No, we wont" would have been more honest.
An Example: starting at 0.1, multiplier 1.5, gain 25%, consolation prize 50%:
Code:
pot is 0.10000000 Bomb is at 0.10000
if game ends here repaying 0.05000000 Win is 0.05
pot is 0.12500000 Bomb is at 0.15000
if game ends here repaying 0.07500000 Win is 0.05
pot is 0.16250000 Bomb is at 0.22500
if game ends here repaying 0.11250000 Win is 0.05
pot is 0.21875000 Bomb is at 0.33750
if game ends here repaying 0.16875000 Win is 0.05
pot is 0.30312500 Bomb is at 0.50625
if game ends here repaying 0.25312500 Win is 0.05

And so on.
A consolation prize below 50% would give out higher profits, the higher the Bomb gets.
For example: 20% consolation+10% to instant Win Pot would leave you with 20% +0.05 BTC Win.

Why not try it? You could launch a consolation test bomb after the carpet bomb has stabilized.
Btw: I like the group bomb principle too

Title: Re: CoinBomb.com has just launched!
Post by: CoinBomb on May 27, 2013, 09:40:43 PM
I'll re run the figures for you... :P

1) value 0.1 - no profit returned here.
2) value 0.1 * 1.5 = 0.15 - returned 0.1*1.25 = 0.125. consolation 50% of 0.125-0.1 = 0.0125
3) value 0.15 * 1.5 = 0.225 - returned 0.15*1.25 = 0.1875. consolation 50% of 0.1875-0.15 = 0.0125+0.01875 = 0.03125
4) value 0.225 * 1.5 = 0.3375 - returned 0.225*1.25 = 0.28125. consolation 50% of 0.28125-0.225 = 0.028125 + 0.03125 = 0.059375

Consolation pot total = 0.059375 on a bomb value of 0.3375 = actual return, 17%

That's with a "50%" consolation pot. Its usually way less than that.

Thanks for the suggestion, but like i said, we'd rather have every player the chance at 100% return rather than 1 player at the end of the chain get a small amount back. Plus, if you're worried about the risk, the group bombs are an excellent way to spend whatever you are comfortable with.

Title: Re: CoinBomb.com has just launched!
Post by: macros on May 27, 2013, 10:38:56 PM
There is a big difference in the approach:
You calculate with 50% of players profits per step
I calculate 50% of last bomb buyers payment as example (this is the extreme where you can go without making loss)
Of course you would set it to something lower to make profit per bomb sell and not only profit per bomb round.
My pot is the total profit you have made before the last player would get the 50% refund.
If you continue your calculation, you will see the 17% rising. This is because the 0.1 are missing completely in your way of calculation and make still a big part of the 0.225.

Doing it like I mean (last buyer gets <=50% back) would still leave previous owners with profit =gain*their buying price and would lower the risk for buyers.
Of course the lower risk should mean, that consolation-price-bomb payers have lower or no chance to get the free jackpot.
A player which buys a Bomb at 1 BTC will never have the chance to get 100% return even if he is the last buyer, because your jackpot never got nearly that high.

Title: Re: CoinBomb.com has just launched!
Post by: CoinBomb on May 27, 2013, 10:45:35 PM
Your system is not in use anywhere else, and would not work in practice im afraid. I've given you an example of exactly how another site uses consolation prizes. We do not, and will not.

Regarding your last point - you are correct, he will win whatever value is in the pot at the time. It could be 1 BTC, it could be less. Most purchases are currently covered by the instant win pot.

ahh! Now I understand correctly. Our competition is not a secret - there's plenty of action to go around.

There is a huge difference between 50% (your number) and 40% (their number). infact, 51% is loss making with those rules. (With BTC anyway - Did you take into account fees? litecoin is a loss maker from the very start)

We advertise externally (at our cost), to bring in more players. With margins that thin, we couldn't do that.

Title: Re: CoinBomb.com has just launched!
Post by: suryc on May 28, 2013, 07:07:51 AM
This is a real interesting concept, and sounds like a fun game, but I would just like to make sure I understand logistically what happens...

Is it correct that there is a spread between the multiplier and the interest and that spread is kept by the site runners (presumably some portion goes to funding the instant win jackpot)?
For example, if I buy a bomb for 1 BTC that has 35% interest and 1.5x multiplier, it will be re-listed for sale at 1.5 BTC and  when/if it sells I will get 1.35 BTC and the .15 BTC goes to coin bomb? And, the coin bomb gets the BTC from the exploded bombs as well?

Sorry if that's an idiotic question or if the answer is obvious, but I read the FAQ and this forum and I didn't think it was clear. Maybe I need some sleep.

Title: Re: CoinBomb.com has just launched!
Post by: CoinBomb on May 28, 2013, 07:57:52 AM
Hi suryc,

It's kind of a difficult concept to get your head around at first, no problem!

you are mostly correct yes (except the final profit portion that goes to us is less - after fees, refunds, instant wins etc) - we also do not get to keep the last bomb value as it has been returned backwards to the previous owner (and also the price you see is the price to buy - it hasn't actually been bought).

If a group bomb is not 100% funded by new shareholders when the timer runs out, they are refunded. (the owner shareholders lose out)

On purchase (of a full bomb or shareholding) you have the chance to win your purchase price back instantly (your purchase still goes through as expected, so you can get the instant win of 100%, then get another 100%+35% of your purchase back on sale)

Hope that helps! any more questions, feel free to ask some more!  :)

If the bomb is not 100% funded in 03:24:xx the owner of the bomb (H) loose and the shareolders on the current round are refunded, then the bomb no longer exist anymore after that

ScottJD : on our site, a round is from when a bomb is created until no on purchases, and the timer has run out. You are buying in at a certain level - the levels go up each time someone buys, within the round. (I hope that makes sense - the round is the entire chain, the levels are the links in it)

We launch special bombs for one round every so often to keep people interested and coming back to the site, or things would get a bit stagnant.

I hope your shareholding gets fully funded, then you're in play for real! :)

Your shareholding + interest % = return payment

so 0.5BTC shareholding + (0.5BTC * 50% interest) = 0.75 BTC back.

the next level price for the bomb will be total price * multiplier.

Please send us an email at admin@coinbomb.com with the payment address you used and which address you sent it to and I will look in to it for you.

Congrats! There's always more to win. Try the group bombs if you don't want to risk too much! (50% Profit right now!)

We've converted all bombs to group bombs now - if no one buys solo, then they will convert over, and people can pool in.

I'm sure it will confirm soon - we've just upgraded to bitcoin 0.8.2, which lowers the default fee, maybe the network needs more miners to move over as well.

Hello Dude.

I'd like to give you some suggestions in order to improve the bussiness:

1) Why not setting only 2 Group Bombs (BTC: Powder & C4 - LTC: Dirty & Nitro)?

That way you could concentrate more potential customers in few "shareholders pools" and make the money flow faster so gamblers would also cooperate converging their resources bringing more leverage for all participants.

2) The remaining bomb in each cryptocurrency type could be used eventually as MIRVs bombs or any other type of bonuses: they're the second best original feature available at the website.

With that in mind there won't be so many resets so soon.

Nice job and congratulations for your effort in bringing original and inovative features to the old school hot potato game.

Keep up the inovation!

We have just relaunched the Gigaton and Gigajoule bombs for a single round! They will also go through the regular group bomb conversion so you can pool funds together with other players to profit even more.

100% Profit on both bombs!

When does the "group bomb conversion" happen? I saw in the FAQ it says "If a bomb is too expensive for a single player to grab, it converts to a group bomb." But, that's a little vague

And am I right that the timer gets extended when it becomes a group bomb? How much time is added on and how is that going to work for the Gigajoule/Gigaton bombs?

Thanks

Suggestion: Why not creating an weekly bomb that pays the gambler that holds it at the moment of explosion?

Sure that bomb is gonna increase its value fast because everyone will wanna hold it until countdown (24h) finishes.

I think that bomb could be funded with some jackpot resources and nobody ever tried that innovation before.

It might be an idea worth testing (a reverse hot-potato game), don't you think?

Cheers!

"that pays whom holds"

I don't understand. (...)

Let me try to explain it a little bit more:

I just suggested a kind of bomb that you get paid the value accumulated in jackpot only when the bomb explodes (countdown times up) and you are the last holding it.

Example of reverse coinbomb (10% Interest & 1.25x Multiplier & 1 BTC Jackpot):

1) McCartney first buys the bomb for 0.1 BTC;

2) Lennon buys the bomb (before 24h countdown) for 0.125 BTC (McCartney gets paid back 0.11 BTC);

3) Harrison buys the bomb (before 24h countdown) for 0.15625 BTC (Lennon gets paid back 0.1375 BTC);

4) Starr buys the bomb (before 24h countdown) for 0.1953125 BTC (Harrison gets paid back 0.171875 BTC);

5) Ozzy buys the bomb (before 24h countdown) for 0.244140625 BTC (Starr gets paid back 0.21484375 BTC);

6) 24h countdown finishes without any additional purchase and the bomb explodes. Ozzy wins the jackpot prize of 1 BTC or + (there could be a progressive jackpot that increases itself with every additional buy)!

That's it!

I'd rather choose the idea of using the funds to increase the jackpot for future bigger prizes instead of returning them as consolation prizes.

I guess that's better for gamblers and so it is for the house.

The 1 BTC jackpot prize is just an example of a progressive accumulated prize that will be funded with some % of every additional purchase, so its funding is going to be distributed for various gamblers, not to only one "loser" in particular.

Well, that's just a Beta idea...development and thinking is still required.  ;)

You should add a cool-down period right after a payment is verified, during which bombs are still locked. It could be randomly set to 10 to 60 seconds. This would actually give people a chance to buy a bomb before a bot does.

ok so is this a game of chance or skill? it seems like it would take some skill to determine by probability the likelihood of making a profit but it does also seem like just straight chance.

It is chance + guesswork, i.e. guessing when it is more likely for people to buy back your bomb.
Only problem is that you don't have much information to guess that correctly, so it's more luck than anything.
Still nice, though.

Avoid.

Any proof to back up this very strong claim?

Andy B

We were as perplexed about that as everyone else, as we had nothing to do with it

We spoke to the bitpotato staff, and made sure they knew it wasn't anything to do with us. As we said at the time, honest competition is great, it forces innovation and makes everyone step up - that's how we compete, not underhand tricks.

I just wish to have more similar services and this level.

And just a little suggestion - change either Bomb Locked or Grab Bomb colors as they are too close now and it's common not to see when the status have changed.

All the best

And another suggestion: make the small deposits with only 1 confirmation. E.g. <0.1 - 0.2 BTC.
Because it's too annoying to wait 2 confirmations on 0.0039 for example. Especially these days when the blockhain got spammed.

what happens in case after 2 hours payment is not verified?

and just my 2 cents is that the 10% bomb starts to low because of miner fee

Btc bombs require 2 confirmations. We allow up to an hour for this to happen. (5 minutes to see the zero conf, and then 60 minutes for the 2 Confirms, but ideally it will take 20 minutes or less) - I don't think we'll be changing this, for safety.

Regarding other currencies, we can set this up as a revenue share franchise, if you're interested, send a PM.

Bomb prices go up, hit a ceiling then go down to the minimum again. That's how it works.

There is an affiliate program. If you think you can provide great results, get in touch and we'll see what we can do about a better payout!

what if after 60 minutes no 2nd confirmation? what will happen then?

If you don't get 2 confirmations after 2 hours, then something is wrong is your transaction. You will lose your slot and someone else can grab the bomb.

If the transaction never confirms, you haven't spent the coins.
If it does confirm eventually, then email us for a refund.

Regarding the prices. Each bomb starts low. The timer starts high, and ticks down.
There are 2 options from here :
1-If someone grabs the bomb, the price goes up, and the timer resets to high.
2-If the timer runs down, the price goes down to the start price, and the timer resets.

Group bombs work the same, but multiple people can grab and share the price between them. Check out the Faq at the bottom of the site for a bit more of an explanation.

Any questions, we're here, or PM / email us.

We can add more coins, but the problem is dilution. Each extra coin needs a separate marketing strategy, and we can't do everything.

If someone wants to work with us on that, then get in touch!

You've got two options, basically. You can either think about how this "game" is devised and the position it puts a "player" in, cross-referencing this with your knowledge of various scamming schemes (because you do know what these schemes are and how they work, both in theory and in historic execution, so that you can be an informed market participant, right?) and coming to the only available conclusion, which is that the "player"'s role here is to transform himself into a marketing chimp for the operator at said chimp's own risk.

Or, if thinking and studying aren't your sorts of things, your cues from people who do actually enjoy these activities were here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195701.msg3327545#msg3327545), here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195701.msg2119802#msg2119802), here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195701.msg2119828#msg2119828), and here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195701.msg2122788#msg2122788), as a very cursory for instance.

That several other idiotic "bitcoin gem" games have cropped up over the years isn't a selling point ("It's like hot potato!!1" isn't a hint that the thing's credible, it's a hint that it's stupid). That the sensible posts in this thread were practically drowned in low post count shills and a few idiocy addicts isn't a selling point. And no, it's not the case that you might as well say "what the hell" and "try it"; there's a serious downside here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=106391.0).

Stop giving money to scammers.
