CoinBomb has just launched! You can check it out at http://www.coinbomb.com.

Coin Bomb is is similar to the game Hot Potato, once a bomb is bought (grabbed) then a countdown timer will start. The owner of the bomb then has 24 hours to find someone else to buy their bomb for up to 35% profit, or can buy the bomb again themselves for another 24 hours on the clock. Fail to sell the bomb and it will explode and the person holding the bomb will only get a consolation prize of up to 20% of the profit so far, so make sure to tell everyone in order to get the bomb out of your hands! If they do manage to sell the bomb then they will receive their original purchase price plus interest. Each time the bomb is grabbed the price goes up

I just witnessed the gigaton bomb running out of time. It was at 0.625 BTC (+0.625 BTC profit), awaiting payment, and when the timer hit 0:00:00 it reset to 12:00:00 at the same price again. What's up with that?

In theory, there's no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

One round means once it blows up, it's gone.  Every time someone purchases a bomb it's timer goes back to 24 hours.  If this timer ever gets to 0 the person holding it loses, and the round is over.

So, the bomb has been purchased but hasn't blown up yet, so it's still the same round.

I've had good luck with Bitpotato in the past, so I decided to give these guys a try.

Claimed my bomb, paid for it, and the bomb was mine after two confirms.  No problems there.

A few hours went by, my bomb sold.  As soon as it sold I had received a transaction with my payout!  Ended up making about 2 LTC.

So, I can confirm that this service is legit!  Buy bombs with no fear!

But, again, know what you're getting in to.  There is a chance you could lose, which would result in you losing most of your coins.  Don't risk anything you're not willing to lose.

Bear in mind that coinbomb is currently using a bot to lock out every potato on bitpotato right now just to advertise their URL. This is costing people money because their potatoes will expire without anyone being able to buy them. This is the kind of immoral and irresponsible behavior you do not want in people holding your LTC should something go wrong. Avoid.

Any proof to back up this very strong claim?

There really isn't a good description of how things work, so I'll do my best.  The same applies for bitpotato.

There are 3 different states a bomb may be in

Countdown state - This when when the bomb/potato is available to purchase.  The timer shows how much longer until the bomb/potato expires.

Awaiting payment - Someone has clicked the button to purchase the bomb/potato.  The person now has a set amount of time (usually around 5 minutes) to send the coins to the correct address.  The main timer isn't counting down during this state.  If time expires and a payment hasn't been sent, it will go back into the countdown state for someone else to claim.

Verifying payment - This state is entered when coins have been received.  The potato is locked and waiting for the transaction to get some confirms.  Once a certain number of confirms have occurred, the bomb/potato's price is increased and the potato goes back into the countdown state.  This usually takes anywhere from 8-15 minutes, and I think they allow up to 2 hours for this.

Things work slightly different for coinbomb and bitpotato, so be sure to watch for a bit and observe before you get in there and start bidding.
