No, the thing is that the massively inflated insider trading prices that YAK (fucking name.. makes me crack up every time) has been selling for here (not really selling though of course, just a group of friends pretend-buying to keep the price high) won't hold once it's on a public exchange (not that bter.com really is an exchange. More like a hobby project that would accept cow shit as trading instrument if someone bribed them enough).

As usual the close group of scammy friends that instamined it will make a few 100 BTC and every other schlomo gets stuck holding worthless coin.

In a few days you will see someone calling for YACoin holders to boycott bter.com because it's a scam and they are trying to 'drive' the price down :P

YAC takes a minute for 4 confirms. BTC takes 45 min for 4 confirms. Plus the coin isn't even visible on front page. Would be wary of any price (high or low) at least before then.

bter is a touch of death for a coin to go first there.

They launch it as a 'test' where only the sellers know about it for the first day or two. That has a bear-ish effect on the price.

My point still stands. Most people would agree that YAC has more merit than either of those on account of its CPU-mining.

How often do you hear someone talk about tenebrix or geistgeld? They used to be on the exchanges. Now they're kept alive by some miners and are stable at a value of nearly 0 ;)

I think the CPU mining thing is huge, it if can keep that and stand the test of time. I bought some cheap on the new exchange, and am keeping mine. It's definitely got more going for it than CNC and FTC.... but I think people just have a lot of altcoin fatigue now so it's novel technical features are getting discounted.

Pretty much. People with more money than sense drove up the price of CHN and FTC, they're being more cautious now.

YAC isn't just another copycat so I don't plan to dump. Even if the price stays where it is for awhile people will continue to mine it unlike FTC and CHN because it's CPU only, which will allow it to co-exist.

Exactly... that's why I'm betting it will be a winner if it can stand the test of time and keep the GPU miners off (or make it so that GPU mining is only marginally more profitable than CPU mining). The fact that it can be co-mined is huge, and means that a much larger, more diverse pool of folks will be taking on YAC than would otherwise happen if it was just another GPU coin.

The N++ changes may be interesting as well as far as generating periodic bouts of buzz around the coin.

If cpu mining is important, atleast make a new coin with a better name and release...

Calm down people, YAC was selling OTC yesterday at 1BTC+ / 1k YAC, and demand was crazy.
As you know, people won't be buying OTC before the coin is listed if they aren't getting a really cheap price. So 0.001+was the OTC cheapy.
There is no way the most innovative CPU-only coin after LTC is going to settle long term lower than 0.002.

FTC and CNC were copy cat. YAC is really innovative. even as a pump and dump coin its fair value should be be at least 0.003.

That behavior is just reflective of being loyal to what they have at the moment, and they won't approve of a coin that is not on their site at that second, regardless if it is actually coming or not or if they know. It's just basic PR, and trying to not pre-pump or be associated with market manipulation or revealing insider knowledge. And lastly, you're right about the CNC thing. What's interesting to note is how they banned everyone mentioning CNC before they added it. Their mentality of "coins-not-here-at-this-moment" and as a consequence their banning of people mentioning it likely shows it is going to be added eventually rather than a reflection of them not adding it. Way to go YaCoin.  This will increase liquidity.  Next stop-- merchants accepting YaCoin for payments.  Why not?  It's tons faster than Bitcoin and litecoin.

YAC is on a slow downward descent to 3-4 cents a coin. It will stagnate there for a long time and if it shows worth it will gradually climb upwards. Bad news for people who wanted a quick buck, good news for the coin as slow, steady growth is the way to avoid bubble pops.

Yacoin early miners have the weakest hand ever in the history of crypto-currencies. That was a quite pathetic and very amateur pumping, and they liquidated most of their early mover advantage for peanuts shells. They even managed to drop the price lower than the cheapest OTC price ever. Very entertaining panic demonstration.
Anyway, now that early adopters are done peeing in their pants, and the coins moved to stronger hands, we can start seeing real growth for that one-of-a-kind CPU only cryptocoin. Expect the exchange rate to make a major rally once people understand that the price already hit the bottom, and YAC isn't going away.

I don't think merchants are going to accept it any time soon, but for OTC trading and fast fund transfers between exchanges (very useful for arbitrage), YAC is a killer.
I've been buying and selling OTC over the last couple of days, and it's pretty amazing how fast your are getting confirmations.
YAC is probably the best thing we have to face Ripple and its 10-second ledger confirmations.

Soooo, I'm an early miner, but I understand that if I sell all my coins now, I'll get near $1000. It is rather small sum. But maybe many of these panic sellers are people who need any amount of money "just now", no matter how many - 10, 100, 1000 dollars. But it is good in my opinion - good cryptocurrencies need strong hands (not like CNC\FTC).

Now that's interesting because people who missed the train and didn't start mining / buying early are given a unique chance to make up for that. I dumped my coins last night when the price rallied back up to .001 after reading that. If you think it isn't going to fall any lower at this point, good luck.

I dumped half my coins at 0.0071 and then when it fell to 0.005 dumped the other half.

I'll hold onto 300 YAC that I mined from the pool in case it soars in the next days :P

YAC is a better coin that FTC and CHN which were just LTC's clons. It had some problems at the beginning and some Linux miners have mined much more than Window's and took advantage of that. But it has been already been discovered and solved. I've had all 3 coins (FTC, CHN and YAC) and I like mucho mas YAC concept than the other ones. This is why I bought more of the last one and got much more involved.

In the following days we´ll be seeing this improvement being reflected cent by cent in the marketplace price too.

I think the cpu mining sets it apart from the LTC copycats.  You guys never know, I'm holding my coins.  And continuing to mine.

So far YAC's "IPO" on bter.com has been very successful and quite different than that of CNC and FTC.

1) FTC and CNC both opened high and closed low.

 * YAC opened low and is currently above the price it opened.  Suggesting strength and also a good buy (since it opened low).

2) FTC and CNC had nothing behind them technologically, no upcoming events which could cause a rally or continued interest in them

 * YAC has dynamic N factor and upcoming events when the N-factor will change and difficulty will drop, giving CPU miners some incentive to mine.

And it keeps going until GPUs don't have enough memory.

So, I am extremely bullish on YAC.  And I think the current price is a way early buy in point.

I was "pushing" yesterday for a fast growth of YAC's price but now I'm very happy it stabilized and it's going up slowly and steadily. It's a much more "organic" growth and it has.

It COULD become THE CPU coin just as BTC became the ASIC coin and LTC the GPU coin. Obviously it's far too soon to say something like this but it's not absolutely crazy to think something like this. There were other CPU coins that are just corpse now :)  but this one has a very natural and organic acceptance.

I like it and I like the way it's behaving in the market. I'm far from selling now.

If you want to mine bitcoins you'll need asics (spend a lot of money up front and wait several months), but if you want to mine yacoins you'll need servers with two or four cpus (buy them online and wait 5 days for them to arrive)...yac is going to be a better option in the long run to keep the power decentralized

How long run are you talking here? Asics will be cheap ( I'd argue they already are ) and everywhere eventually.

Buying more YAcoins at market price and will hold them. Its sure has more potential than FTC and CNC.

At least CNC seemed to be much weaker coin comparing to YAC, but it was added to BTC-e and Vircurex fast. Why are they not interested in yac? Maybe they look into "agreement" on bter and beware...

Doubt YAC has much of a future.  Was a few days of nostalgic fun for CPU miners but, other than as a penny stock on exchanges, it has no useful role in commerce that can't be filled by BTC, LTC, or any of the million other alt coins

I can't stand Bitcoin for it's transaction time. I just don't see how some other coin/currency won't replace it at some time, it's useless to wait one hour to receive transaction.

When I first time used CNC I felt like born again and YAC brings that feeling to extremity, I receive transaction in less than a minute. Not sure about security stuff, I don't have a clue about that but the coin that manages to incorporate fast transaction with enough security followed by good marketing will wipe bitcoin out of the scene.

I wonder why would anyone place a 16 BTC sell order on Bter more than 10% below the next sell order and the prices at Vircurex too. Practically throwing them away.

As more time passes the the N keeps going up and every time the amount of coins you can get essentially gets cut in half. The price will go up and down but in a few months there won't be large dumps any more until the price gets "good" IMO.

N goes up, Difficulty goes down, Block reward returns to higher level. I'd call this extended early adopter period.

After popularity skyrockets the difficulty will go up too. After that price will go up too.
