Jewels, gold, silver, rhodium & more?!?!?  This coin is really unique and has an awesome backstory to it; I'm sure the future owner will be more than happy with the item.  ;D

Good luck with the auction!

I remember seeing this coin a while back, it's pretty unforgettable!  Although it's a one-of-a-kind, is there a particular maker you can associate this with?  (I forget who was originally selling it).

I ran the numbers on the value of silver being roughly $350, and another $200 for the ETH, so there's at least $550 worth of PMs and Crypto on it.  Can anyone estimate what the Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald might be worth?

Could you just pull out the hand set stones see the private key and then reset the stones?  This is really a cool piece and remember when whywefight put it up here.  Good luck with the sale.

You would need pliers to do that, and it would not only disfigure the smooth setting, but also the gold plating. Therefore, a successful attempt would require a silver smith and a re-application of gold and possibly rhodium plating.

elianite here..

The fact that I got locked out was unfortunate; it caused me to not be able to keep this thread current, and that led to a loss of visibility. I would have also marked it as a 'ENDING TODAY' in the title had I been able to log in.

It's clear that there was some confusion regarding the timezone, and there were many who did not have an opportunity to bid who wanted to. Since this is an auction for a client and I have a responsibility to them, I think it is reasonable if we extend this auction by one day. I hope you all understand.

----------------------
Increments of 0.05
End time: Wednesday, August 2nd, 23:59 UTC

Auction ends 15 minutes after last bid.
*I retain the right t o end the auction at any time for any reason.

How do timezones work? the time is:
5pm San Francisco
8pm New York

I may not be unlocked yet, so contact info@coinfirm.org (dont PM me on this account)

You couldve bumped this with your temp account though right?

Anyone with interest would see it and open it up, and couldve had your countdown.

The auction was over about 1.5 hrs ago... av8rjeff won with a bid of 1.05BTC

But I will let the OP make the final call.

shouldn't that be av8rjeff's call?

also be careful dealing with this coin as it bears a curse.

I know I am a newbie but right is right, and you don't have to be a legendary member to see that he has no integrity. Fattcatt, I don't agree with you but I can see your side. Just my opinions.

Ok i will bite.  Why am i a dueche.  I didnt even bid on this auction.  When you are good and ready i will be here for an apology

Wait...no integrity...wtf did i do to compromise integrity?

Wow, I just saw this conversation now. Somehow I only thought there was 1 page.
I signed a message about an hour ago so Cyrus should unlock elianite soonish.

Turns out UTC is not a timezone.. the more you know. That was my fault. I'm the douche if anyone here is.

I hope that extending by a day is seen by your guys as somewhat reasonable given the situation. I hope nobody will object if I declare Fattcatt the winner a@1.2BTC

av8rjeff, I'd like to send you a free copy of my book as an apology for this mess. I messed up this auction & I'm sorry. PM elianite and I'll get to you.

PPC Shooter, I'd like to also offer you a little something to welcome you to the collector community  :D  PM me.

As for the curse.. it may be true. About 30 minutes after I held this coin, I lost my credit card on a bus, and lost my phone on another bus the following day  :-X

From what I can tell looking back through Bitcointalk history, this coin has always been owned by wheresmycoin ... He even thanked everyone in this thread for bidding - In his post history, you can see that he tried to sell it once or twice but I don't think it ever happened.  Hey, wheresmycoin, can you tell us what isoneguy means? Thanks! :)

Well, I just got back from vacation and instead of finding a pm requesting funds I see I didn't get the win after all.  When I left for vacation, it seemed pretty clear that I was the winner, so I didn't feel the need to check back.  Not my fault that nobody knows UTC and MinerJones DID bump the thread prior to end of auction.

I think I will write back when I've cooled off because I'm finding it hard to be humble right now and I really want to be.

Well, Newbie....You should have followed through. Like stayed and "paid"....but you didn't. And then there was a "turn of events". Which CAN, and did happen. Therefore, if you had stuck around, you could have bid. No one here is to blame that you took off to go to a bar, vacation, Grandma's house, or a ho-down. The truth of the matter is THATS ON YOU!!!  :-\   ......yeah.

I think that it is not quite that simple.. and in any case, it is not fair to treat anyone differently based on how many posts they have.

I very much see av8rjeff's perspective as legitimate. Had I done the auction properly everything would be fine, and had I not been locked out, everything would be fine. Further, I had massive time-zone confusion from travelling through three continents in that 2 week period. I don't know how to make this right for everyone.

That said, Fattcatt has paid, and I don't think I can take that back.

av8rjeff, I am willing to offer you a book and a 0.15BTC ($500) transfer, which was the difference between your bids.
As I am only getting a portion of this auction, this represents a significant loss to me. It will be clear that I am not profiting from the extension decision in any way, but it is costing me.

WOW, that is beyond generous Elianite, to be sure.  However, it is completely unnecessary and I'll surely not have you digging into your own pocket to make up some perceived difference.  This was an unusual event and you handled it as you thought best.  I harbor no grudges.  Besides...this is a fun endeavor and I'll not let it be tainted by trivialities such as this, so I will just chalk it up to win some, lose some.

Again, much appreciation on the offer.

Cheers,
Jeff
