Token details

• Token name: ACT
• What does this token represent: It is a reward token that governs the distribution of 15% of platform revenue to proposal curators (see white paper (https://www.daoact.org/whitepaper/))
• Total supply: 10 billion
• ICO format: All ACT will be issued and distributed during the crowdsale (ICO)

Roadmap

In January 2017, we built a prototype (https://youtu.be/8HW298MQYH0) of ACT on the Ethereum testnet, and full specifications have since been developed based on the final ACT White Paper. These specifications - including fixed pricing for the smart contract development work (identified as milestones) - will be published prior to the pre-ICO. Furthermore, a smart contract that only allows pre-ICO funds to be drawn from a 3-4 multisig wallet in line with the defined milestones will be implemented. A full analysis of this ground-breaking approach will be published as an article shortly.


Pre-ICO and Bounties details

The ACT donation campaign has three phases:

• Pre-ICO: 2pm CET 18th July 2017–1st August 2017
• Pre-release access: Close of pre-ICO — 18th November 2017.
• ICO: 18th November 2017–18th January 2018.

Pre-ICO bonuses:

• Platinum — 10x for first $250k
• Gold — 5x for next $250k
• Silver — 2.5x after $500k

Example: Donator “Sean” donates $100,000 on the first day of the pre-ICO (phase 1). Sean’s allocation of ACT Token at the ICO is therefore 10x his donation i.e. $1,000,000 worth of ACT Token.

Pre-ICO conditions

Please note: Platinum and Gold bonuses reduce by half (to 5x and 2.5x respectively) after the half way point of the pre-ICO (25th July at 17:00 CEST)

Pre-ICO limits

• pre-ICO soft cap—  to be decided after WINGS.ai price forecast event
• ICO cap — to be decided after WINGS.ai price forecast event (before the pre-ICO) and announced prior to the commencement of fundraising.
• Individual donation cap for the pre-ICO — $150,000.

Act token price = Total amount fundraised / 80 billion tokens

What are you trying to achieve?

ACT is a decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO) that supports the “enabling elements” of citizen engagement  - conditions that affect the ability of state and citizens to engage in systems of social accountability – including the freedom of citizens to associate, their ability to mobilize financial resources to fulfil the objectives of their coordinated actions and/or organizations, their ability to formulate, articulate and convey opinion, their access to information (necessary for their ability to exercise voice, engage in negotiation and gain access to resources), and, the existence of spaces and rules of engagement for negotiation and public debate.

What is the societal problem being addressed?

ACT seeks to boost the enabling elements described above and associated conditions in support of citizen action. The societal problem being addressed is social accountability, which is the extent and capability of citizens to hold the state accountable and make it responsive to their needs. ACT’s objective is to address the imbalance of power between state action and citizen action. Citizen engagement can be defined as the interplay of five constitutive elements: state action, citizen action, information, citizen-state interface, civic mobilization.

 
It is helpful to consider some hypothetical examples of the interplay at work:

Example 1: The rights of Maria Dzuba’s disabled daughter
The ACT white paper, website and explainer video all use the hypothetical example of Maria Dzuba from Minsk, Belarus to help explain the what and why of ACT. In summary, Maria’s 8 year old daughter Lera is disabled and local government refused to repair the elevator in her building for budget reasons. Belarusian law allows for a petition to be raised to create a “public letter” which can be considered. Maria asks the ACT community for $200 to fund her campaign.


Example 2: A journalist detained and in need of legal support
Sometimes when civic mobilization occurs within a hostile political system, the independent media that seeks to cover the story can get into hot water. For example, a cameraman could have his/her equipment confiscated and he/she could be detained by the police. In this instance, the person urgently needs the best legal support. ACT could support such an intervention, and even fund replacement equipment!

Example 3: Communities fighting coal mining expansion in the United Kingdom
Local communities around the world are fighting open cast coal mining that is harmful to their health and the wellbeing of their children. In some places such as Wales in the UK, expansion plans threaten to drive other existing and new employers from the area who do not want to be located where such health concerns exist. Such local action inevitably ends up weighing heavily financially on communities that initiate them. Consequently, they can ill afford to maintain them let alone expand them in line with the potential for real impact and change.

I have being struggling here since mtgox, Can someone in their right mind explain it to me? WTF is going on with 30-50 ICOs a day?

This project will be successful, the project plan is very noble, I am sure the investors will be very interested in this project. The only project that is concerned with social justice

What is the ACT action against current media injustice.
as an example :
1. media silence for child murder in palestin, syria.
2. media silence for the ban on worship for Muslims in Al-Aqsa
3. media silence for crime genoshida in syria
And many more social injustices that we feel especially the people of Palestine and Syria.

Will the price for pre-ICO be determined by the time the ICO is completed?
And we will get 10X bonus for participants who pre-invested in ICO?

It is amazing that there is an ICO project that will be centralized on citizens which promotes social accountability to get involved and manage their own financial needs. Also the largest part of the pie graph that an assumption of 80% of tge total allocation willbe distributed for donation which really focuses on citizens capability and support them all throughout this campaign.

Assuming you collected 1000 ether ($200k) in the first stage of the pre sale with ×10 bonus, when you want to calculate the price of 1 ACT, will you consider these investments as $2millions (×10 of the real value in term of Dollar).

This forum is a huge advertisement platform for innovators as well as scammers. If you're wondering why are there so many ICO's, you should also know most of this ICO's just want our money then disappear. Bitcoin and Eth popularity attracts more startups. And that adds up why there are so many ICO this year alone.

What is trouble you,let there be as many ICO as they want,if you are not interested in the project ,just do not bother about it as no one is forcing anyone to invest in any project,they are getting investors because they think that it is an interesting project.

Only a few days before the project ends, the ACT project is about to achieve the expected success of over 1000 ETH. I am sure this will be a successful project because they are supported by many leading partners

I like this project, a project related to social justice is difficult to develop, seeing more injustice is happening, but with a careful plan, I'm sure this project will work well.

Very good project, I'm really interested, I'm sure there will be many investors who are interested in this project, have a very good plan, I hope the team can be relied upon, they look very professional, good team, hopefully run well

The team should be responsible enough on how they handle their ANN so this thread will not be closed again.
Also, since the duration of the Pre-ICO is really long, and the early supporters might leave, they should at least give us updates once in a while to keep us in the loop and be reminded that ACT is still alive.

Its not fraud or or anything it just that the first thread was lock/deleted by the mods and the ICO that took place and ended is just a pre-ICO main  crowdfund will start somewhere in september i guess.

Fraud is probably too strong a word but they don't answer to PM's either, so that doesn't make them look good.

You can check dao act twitter, he has been collected 1.3k ETH during the pre-ICO, but dev is now rarely active, probably because because the time of ICO is still long, I've heard the news that they will open bounty for ICO, but not yet information to date

The initial x10 bonus was so attractive for an ICO to do it but ACT came up with idea and hopefully as the official ICO kick off many would realize the important of this project.

The distribution will be after the ICO. I doubt devs or project owner are checking here. If you want to follow the project twitter is the only way currently.

So looks like the ICO might start in March. I think this project is very promissing. Fraser is doing this very professionally hitting one convention after the other while the professional dev team is working on the implementation.

Yes most likely the ICO will begin in March. Yes, see from his team this project seemed promising, especially by creating a portal bounty I think they demonstrated their earnestness in implementing the ICO and support the bounty hunter. This project will be successful for sure.
