Can someone explain me the term of airdop in crypto community?
Is there any topic with the terms we use here on forum?

An Airdrop occurs when someone who wants to promote his new cryptocurrency plans a controlled and periodic release of some coins to people that meets a specific set of characteristics - e.g. user ranking and activity -. An example could be the recent Deep Onion AirDrop initiative - search on this forum to find more - 

I don't know of a particular thread with the terms, but the search function is pretty useful.

As the user above mentioned, though, basically it's where the coins are given away for free as opposed to an ICO where you have to buy the coins. Besides Deep Onion, you can find examples in Minereum and Timereum.

Airdrops generally seem to be met with more support and less skepticism than ICO's. At least, that's the trend I see on these boards.

There is some project that will have done an airdrop as soon as possible, you can find them all in the announcement section and try to read the title first, because that will always be mentioned in the title about the airdrop in the future. That was so easy to understand for you.

In the past, it was an opportunity to receive free coins or tokens just from signing up and meeting their requirements such as "no newbies".  Nowadays it's more like a bounty, you have to do a variety of tasks in order to receive the coins or tokens.

Airdtop is a usually free coins which you need to joint them and follow some intructions and youre good to have and receive their free coins.

And deepcoin now have a high value in some major exchanges. Actually this thing got to my nerves that I want to give a try with these. Maybe when my campaign ended I'll give it a try.

I would say it would be somehow hard to join directly since as far as i know those airdrops do require a specific forum rank which im sure newbies wont really allow but depending on the airdrop and to their rules. No it's not very hard to join them if you can pass to their requirements then your all good to have their airdrops  but you should follow the rules so that you can pass to their criteria and able to receive the deserving award for yourself. maybe you should try to seek an idea with deeponion and masternodecoin since they where the best coin giving a nice airdrop today.

It's basically when the developers of a coin decide to give away some coins for free, usually to those who already hold coins. I agree, deepionion and masternodecoin is two of most good airdrop did happen on this year which their prices rise up on a short period of time after the distribution.This is why airdrops are gems when it comes to claim free coins. They are really not hard to comply as long you do follow the instructions but there are really some airdrops do require forum ranks not just accepting new accounts or newbie members.

Depends if the coin is listed on an exchange or not. Deep Onion for example is on Novaexchange, and it's trading for about $1.6 a coin. When it was first listed a month ago (maybe two), I think it was at < $.30 so it has gone up quiet a bit in a short time.

You are on point. I have seen some hardly known coins without any community around it pumped so high following release to the exchange. I think is all about how much Bitcoin the owners of the project got to throw up and down on the coin when listed on the exchange.

No, if you are equated airdrop and giveaway are the same thing that is not true. Because, the airdrop need an action from the participant, like you have to promote the project with a predetermined time and you will get the exact amount of reward. But you are participate with giveaway then there is no guarantee that you will get the reward. Most of giveaway just will be choose by developer that deserve to win the event and also you just need several task to participate.
