Title: Does bitcoin's price volatility affect your gambling habits?
Post by: LuanX3 on September 08, 2017, 10:37:14 AM
So does this factor affect how you gamble?

If prices go up, do you lower you bets? For example, you normally bet 0.001 per bet, do you lower it to 0.0001 per bet?

If prices go down, do you place higher bets? For example, you normally bet 0.001 per bet, do you place higher bets like 0.01 per bet?

Of course! When bitcoin price move up too high I will make my bets a bit lower and vice versa. I think most people will do the same thing as well.

You would do that only if you value bitcoins in terms of liquid cash and not in "bitcoins".It's subjective as gambling websites don't lower their winning ratios as the prices go up/down.They still pay you the same.

Not most people.People would still use max-min bet combination.I mean if the prices go high and minimum bet is 0.001 btc you can't expect to make a bet with 0.0001 just because the prices are high.

Isn't it another way around? if you have seen that the price of bitcoin goes up, surely there are other gamblers that will make their bet up so they can get a higher sum, but in my case I don't really look at the value of bitcoin, but the bitcoin itself you are not playing a gambling game with your fiat but with your bitcoin so decide in playing with it, well when I play gambling I usually don't look at the value but I am setting an amount that I think I can be OK when I lose it,

For me it has for sure I'm not a person who gambles regularly but with such a increase in price i feel people should really stop gambling i have already decided not to gamble anymore even i had gambled only once , maybe the price factor doesn't really matter to the people who gamble their mentality might higher price means higher win amount

Yes it certainly does. If the price of the bitcoin is high it is good for me to use it for gambling because it means I can win higher by using higher amount of bitcoin. Other than that, for a certain equivalent amount I will need less bitcoin.

I don't usually gamble with bitcoin and I really do prefer using fiat. The volatility will surely make me regret if I wasted my bitcoin for gambling.

I think it shouldn't but for me it does. I mean I have a bankroll for gambling in bitcoin, so I guess I should use it and don't care about it's price in fiat, but the thing is, I only use BTC for gambling, and I don't use it to buy goods. So I will need to trade BTC to $ eventually, so I don't feel comfortable in risking to much $ on a bet, when BTC rises. If I didn't need to exchange BTC to fiat to buy normal stuff (like grocery) then I guess it would not affect me.

when the price of bitcoin is high i always bet on low ofcourse because i cant afford those chips that i can buy when bitcoin price is low. it's the matter of holding your money. if you buy a chips on a lower price wait till bitcoin price and then play gambling in that case you can make a good profit. just like holding your bitcoin.

I guess it affects me but not that much since I just gamble using small amount of my bitcoin. I am also scared of what may happen to my bitcoins since I am planning to keep and save them for a short period of time this year.

If the price go up, I am lucky if I have some balance in my wallet on gambling sites, still goes up or it goes down, I will be using it to gamble.

Of course not, if I bet using BTC, I will not always count the issue of the high btc price. Probably because of habitual factors that always make bets continuously

Oh yeah without a doubt, we alwayslowering the amount of BTC we use drugs to donate as the price goes higher, last year the $100 equivalent of BTC is now $900 am sure no one will bet that much now as they used to do a year ago.

Whenever bitcoin price is going up or going down, still the currency I used here is bitcoin and all bets are 1:1 meaning no matter how much the value of BTC per USD still the money used is bitcoin. Now for the concern of the amount per bets, still nothing changed and all my bets is according to my usual amount that I put everytime I placed a bet because like I said above, it's still 1:1.

Price volatility rellay can affect my gambling habits, up or down so be it.

Well if value or price of bitcoin goes up it means you losing more if you stick to the same wager amounts you used before so it would be a natural adjustment to lower our bets and this will also depend on the minimal allowed wager too.

If prices go down, do you place higher bets? For example, you normally bet 0.001 per bet, do you place higher bets like 0.01 per bet?
We have to be prudent here...going higher because of a dip in price wouldn't be a smart move but then again this will depend on how much we have in our bank

because i'm not addicted of gamble and always fear to experience huge lost then i have to says yes this factor had really effect to my behaviour in gambling because the value of bitcoin increase then automatically my cost for every gamble was very high too currently but usually to avoid more cost i had gamble with altcoin such as Doge or ETH and lower my bets

Well the price really does affect my gambling habits ,
Back when the price was just about $2000 I used to play almost every week because of the fee and don't really care about it i was just betting about .01 btc ,
But right now .01 btc is a high amount of money for me and the transaction fee is about .001+ so that would really be a huge amount,
And since I am only playing to past my free time it is really expensive way to do it.

Yes, definitely, I'm an old gambler and even if am gambling, betting on crypto now, my logic is fixed with USD so Bitcoin price changes will change the size of the bets I do. Because of I lose when BTC price was too high then the equivalent will be the double of whatever we were losing.

I agree with that. The benefit that we can get from the increase price in bitcoin  related to gambling is when we have a target amount to use and if we are going to stick to that, we will use less bitcoin. Loosing bitcoin in gambling is really regretful especially if bitcoin has high equivalent price.

When playing, I prefer using fiat because it is not volatile.

No, I wasn't thinking about this until i read it, i always play in a poker table wherein the stakes are high, I've been playing on that ever since the value of Bitcoin is still low until now. So i was not able to decrease or increase my bet amount.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of poker game so never bet in this game, but I usually bet in cricket matches and play dice game online. Yes, I have adjusted my bet amount because in cricket matches I usually bet around $50 to %100 per match depends on my analysis so that I will adjust Bitcoin quantity accordingly. Bitcoins are real money so I will never bet blindly in any game.

I dont think that the gamblers have got any affect on their betting even if the price is up. i gamble in sports betting and i still bet on my old bankroll system as i dont see the price only profit matters me.

i normally convert it into fiat value before placing my bet so that I'm sure that I'm not over betting as we knew that bitcoin value really fluctuates
from time to time, i understand that if you know how to convert your btc you will able to lessen and minimize your loses, so for me I'm always aware
that a certain fiat amount is the only money that I allocates for my gambling activity.

For me, It doesnt really affect at all since i do set up already the amount equivalent on dollars on which no matter what would be the amount on btc as long its equal on those fiat value then it should be find but sometimes i do feel that im wasting up more bitcoins when the price is still down because you do bet large number of satoshis but well this is gambling no matter which you would go,you would eventually lose up those bitcoins.

The volatility of Bitcoin's price not only affects gambling users but also pushes casinos and gambling sites to make various adaptations like adjusting the faucet values and minimum cashout amount which in turn directly affects the users. For me, I always set up goals and cash out if at all I reach there, irrespective of the price of BTC at that moment.

Of course, with the current price of bitcoin, its really hard to put a lot of bankroll to start our gambling habits. Now, I usually play at .01BTC only. For me, its the perfect amount because I don't want to lose more because if I convert my bitcoin to fiat its already enough for me. Unlike before that I can make deposits even more, but now I'm a little hesitant because of the price volatility. Only .01-.02 BTC is my max bankroll to enjoy and begin gambling.

In my case, yes it affects the way I bet because in my betting I have maximum money for betting as it is my way to control my capital.
Once the prices go down then my bet becomes higher as I am betting using BTC but once the prices goes up then my bet becomes lower.
It is still very important that we know how to control our self especially in gambling.

Yes, the bitcoin price does affect the way I gamble, if the price of bitcoin rise higher, I would usually start my martingale strategy in dice game with a lower bet amount, I believe most of the dice sites also adjust the site minimum bet to a lower amount according to the price of bitcoin.

I'm usually on the other side of the game - I prefer to invest in bankrolls instead of betting against them, but Bitcoin's price still affects my decisions. When the price grows, I divest my funds, because I don't want to risk more than certain amount of value. This includes both the risk of losing some of my investment because of lucky whales, and all my investment if casino will get hacked/seized/exit-scam. But many other investors chose to keep their investments regardless of price, it can be seen on the bankroll size charts of certain sites, there actually is no strong correlation between their bankroll size and the price of BTC. You can also gather statistics for betting volumes and see if and how they correlate with Bitcoin's price.

For a long time, most of the site minimum bet is 1 Santoshi and I don't know whether they can go even lower than 1 Santoshi. Casinos will not reduce their minimum bet anymore but gamblers need to reduce their maximum bet amount in bitcoins to stop the game if not they may lose more money.

Volatility to the best of my ability does not affect the my habit or ability to bet since I don't bet with fiat I bet with btc and that is constant irrespective of the amount of relationship to dollars. If I bet 1 btc with 1.5 odds the I should expect 1,5btc in returns otherwise, there is a problem which means if BTC was $1000 when I made the bet and I won and its now $2000 or even $500 that does not matter again.

Not really, It doesn't matter what is the current price for me when it comes to gambling. My bet was depending on how much is my balance and not in the price. Gonna do the same thing even in the near future no matter what the price is.

I think so. Sometimes i get frustrated when betting because sometimes when the price of bitcoin fluctuates, i gamble it. So when i loss that amount. I realize the value of the amount i just gambled. That's why i always look at price of bitcoin every time i gamble. Some gamblers doesn't realize that because they only care about the profit they could possibly get when they gamble. They are not looking at the price or value because the higher the risk, the higher the reward they could get.

Do you mean of betting by using bitcoin is fixed? Whatsoever price did you bet is still the same in return? I'm amaze how bitcoin is really coping into the modern technology. This is just the same if you uses an exchanges if you set your address to your own fiat currency it will be fixed too. If you receive the bitcoin in your wallet.

In sports betting the lowest I can go is 0.001 btc per bet because that's my sportsbook minimum bet. My answer before was no I don't change my betting strategy(from a different thread) but now that i've been losing more than I used to yes from 0.01 to 0.005 now.

This is what is puzzling me. Before, when I bet 0.001 btc per bet that means I am wagering about $0.8 back when the price of bitcoins were $800 a piece. Now that prices went up sky high, 0.001 btc bet is now $4.5! Which is significantly higher than what I used to bet. That is totally crazy. And there is no way to lower this bet in the sports books.

No, it doesn't affect me at all.
First of all I'm not buying BTC to gamble with it and I'm not earning it at my day job. I'm using the coins I had for years and the ones that I'm earning on the forum, and this amount doesn't change along with price in fiat. That's why I rarely count my coins in fiat, I rather try to get more coins, no matter the price.
If I gamble away 0.01, it's just 0.01, whatever is happening on the market at the moment.

Absolutely yes! It never bothered me when it used to be $250 and I lose 0.1 BTC in a single bet as it was my weekly budget to gamble over sports.
But now as the price is 20x, I have lowered down my total weekly bet to 0.02 btc and I hardly place them all in a single bet knowing that if I would lose, the loss would be huge in terms of fiat. So, I do it with smartness and place different bets with better chances of win. I used to gamble everyday before but it's not like that nowadays because now before gambling, I need to check the prices to decide whether to play or to withdraw.

You are absolutely right, It affect our gambling habits but we should control ourselves before place a bet with Bitcoin, if we can just see the conversion of Bitcoin price in local currency maybe we can learn how to use our Bitcoin and do gambling smartly.

Since the day bitcoin crossed 4k i never betted with it , i only played with fiat . Volatility is one of btc's best assets , if i loose my bitcoin funds i won't be just loosing a fixed amount of money , i'd be loosing the potential value that can add up to my funds .

I think it is a Yes, well it is like the Law of Demand of the price of an item increases just like bitcoin our demand for it decreases and if price decreases we demand more of it. We can apply it also in gambling and usually the bets we do is the one being affected and it really but it depends also on the person who gambles even if the price is high and he usually bets the way he does because he might want to get more wins because he knows the price is high.

Yes, because I set my limit using Fiat, so whenever the price go up I lower my bet, and I try not to waste my Bitcoin because the price now is very high, if I can keep it longer then I can get more wealth and during this volatility I seldom gamble because I used my money for trading

No, my gambling strategy doesn't change with the fluctuations in the USD/BTC exchange rates. I manage my bitcoin bankroll in terms of bitcoin only and I don't think about its conversion rates. I determine the amount of my daily gambling budget based on a percentage of my bankroll and I play at the stakes determined by that budget. The results are the same either way ---> 10% of $100 is the same as 10% of $100 worth of bitcoin ---> it makes no difference as long as the two quantities aren't unnecessarily mixed up in the process.

Sometimes it makes me think that it gets too expensive to play since btc rises in value and I may consider saving that use it for playing but sometimes we can't really stop ourselves so still give ourselves a chance to play.

Well of course it will.come to youe mind when you gamble but i agree, it won't really matter for hardcore gamblers because the price isn't important but sating their want for gambling. If you're keeping a capital of btc in your wallet, you're pretty much gambling with the same amount

Not really. I am one of those gamblers that mine the bitcoin with multi GPU PC-s which I own so the price of bitcoin when it comes to gambling is really irrelevant to me. However I should start taking this into account as betting 0.01 btc now for a bet is 40 or more dollars per bet. Not a low amount to bet when it comes in FIAT terms. I should be more careful and low my bet to 0.003-0.004 btc , 15 dollars is a more reasonable amount for a bet.

Hard core gamblers will not think about the price and all. First of all, they are ready to play all there money to win money in gambling. And in this process, if they lost everything also they don't care. So for them, it will not affect much. But i care for money. For me, bitcoins is equal to money. So if the price increase i will reduce my betting amount and if the price decrease I can increase.

No, price rise or fall doesn't affects my gambling. my bets are/will always be 1 mBTC or below, i usually bet 10k sats, sometimes i reach my max bet of 1 mBTC. it has been like that for quite long time now.

Because if it will going to be affect the price of altcoin with bitcoin..

Since the day bitcoin crossed 4k i never betted with it , i only played with fiat . Volatility is one of btc's best assets , if i loose my bitcoin funds i won't be just loosing a fixed amount of money , i'd be loosing the potential value that can add up to my funds .

I agree with you. By betting with fiat and holding Bitcoin because of the volatility you might feel like you're making money and spending something that's not increasing in value but that's only a feeling. In reality you're still splitting your wealth into Bitcoin that should increase in value and fiat that shouldn't. Fiat in the casino is still fiat and Bitcoin is Bitcoin. The only way you could save money this way is if you lost as losing Bitcoin while its value goes up could hurt you more than losing fiat.
If you believe in Bitcoin so much then it's best to convert all your fiat into it :)

It's strange to me how people will try to adjust their behavior by trying to equate one thing with another and then getting lost in the math involved in the conversions.  When the value of bitcoin increases in relation to the US dollar, then the whole bankroll increases. --> If you're following a sound bankroll management system, then the percentages of your bankroll you set aside for your session doesn't change. Ten percent of 1 BTC is still 0.1 BTC whether it's worth 1 dollar or a million dollars or whether it's exchange rate varies significantly throughout the day or not---> it's the same!  10% of 1 BTC == 0.100 BTC <--- always!

I have some specific amount that I use for gambling but it is in dollar metric system. When I use bitcoin for gambling it is always proportionally equal as I would place dollars instead.

The high price of bitcoin has certainly affected my game play as i am worried to lose a huge amount and now i am more careful and this will reflect the freedom i once had while gambling as is affecting my game badly, nothing can be done to sort this out but we have to adjust according to the situation and gamble wisely.

Not an issue for me, I am not worried about the price volatility being a gambler, what we need to do is just cash out at the right timing so we can have a the great value of our money. The volatility is normal but what we are seeing is the price going up in overall so it's better to start with a decent bankroll so we do not need to cash in and cash out every time.

For me it doesn't because I don't readily withdraw and spend after games and so if the volatility is against me today chances are that hat tomorrow it will turn in my favor and so I give no qualms about it's volatility when it comes to my gambling lifestyle.

Of course! When bitcoin price move up too high I will make my bets a bit lower and vice versa. I think most people will do the same thing as well.
Basically, the equivalent amount in dollars that you are willing to bet will remain same, but the decimals in bitcoins will change accordingly. Still playing the safe game! But using bitcoins for gambling, where you can lose your bitcoins very easily is not very smart after all.

It doesnt. My bankroll management basically only allows me to gamble set % of my total bankroll.

This is completely seperate from the USD value of the bet.

You are one of the few in this thread who understands the reasoning here.  It appears that there are a significant number of gamblers in the thread who are not aware of the advantages associated with maintaining a bankroll management budgeting strategy. It makes me wonder how they can continue to play ---> they should be broke already!

But, shhhh ---> as long as it's a zero sum game ---> I guess we win!  LOL

But also need to adjust your % of bankroll if Bitcoin prices go very high because if you still reserve the same % of bankroll every time to gamble then you may be going lose more money if prices are more. It is not a smart move because you might have bought these Bitcoins at a lower price but if you're losing Bitcoins when prices are high means you're losing more money.

Its not actually on percentage basis but you can also prefer to see on local fiat value. If you do follow this one then it would really be hard for you to lose your capital very fast on playing gambling.Value does rise but anytime we can able to adjust on the amount that we would like to bet which means its not really an issue if bitcoins price would rise anytime since we do base our bet on the amount on local fiat.

I think it is the opposite. When the bitcoin price increases, I change the decimal of my bitcoin to match my past bets because if I don't the value of it in dollars is so high for me to lose or to bet. But yeah, it is still better to play the safe game, though I just gamble when I feel it.

Yeah, i do it. Actually, bitcoin price does volatility affect more than other altcoin's price. Then it is better to use bitcoin in gambling, as you give us example. Usually, i do use more bitcoin in betting when bitcoin price down and whenever bitcoin price go to up then sometime i left to play gambling, the fear of losing my expensive bitcoin.

If someone is converting his bitcoins into altcoins just for the sake of gambling, it really is not a wise act. Crypto currencies can be used in more meaningful and beneficial ways. Bitcoins price will increase in a short span of time and that means his 10 dollars could have been more, if he would not have lost them in gambling.

Yes same thing I do, I really don't mind the price of the bitcoin since it really doesn't affect my gambling habits. I also convert my earnings into fiat because right now using bitcoins online are still limited in our country so most of the things I like to purchase need to use a fiat.

Your base bet is way too small imo, unless you play with martingale strategy... I don't think bitcoin price should change how much bitcoins you'll gamble, unless you buy bitcoins only to gamble them. Otherwise you shouldn't care how much 0.01 is when you gamble it.

Gambling with 8.37€ or 0.0027BTC or 10000 DOGE is the same thing. They all worth 10$! If you want to gamble with 10$ it doesn't matter which currency you will use to spend 10$.

No it doesn't because i always use the same unit size when gambling whether the price is high or not. The only difference is the total bankroll i play with. When the price is rather high, the bankroll is relatively smaller compared to when the price is down.

I am also not affected by bitcoin price volatility, I always use the same amount on bitcoin even if the price is high or low. I don't have any problem with that, It doesn't affect my gambling habits.

For exemple if the price of 1 btc is 4700$, I bet with 0.01 btc for a singel or parlay in sportbettings, the same thing if 1 btc worth 3700$.

I don't really think people change their habits that much. I think they just think more in terms of btc then in terms of us value. Most casinos also dediakt to a 0.001 or 0.0001 btc bet. It's scary playing then realizing he much BTC has gone up. 0.001 can quickly become multiple of 0.01 and I'd things go bad that into dangerous territory of close to a whole BTC.

From sports betting point of view I'm not affected by the volatility of Bitcoin that much and so I just follow through my limits on each single bet or parlay irrespective of the prevailing Bitcoin price and then place my bets. That discipline has helped me maintain a pattern whether or not Bitcoin prices rise or fall.

Yeah because whatever the current fiat equivalent of your bet is, it's still in btc form so whether you bet 1btc equivalent to 3k or 1btc equivqlent to 4k, it's still 1btc basically. Thoughbof course if the difference is a lot different, then that may warrant some considerstions

For exemple if the price of 1 btc is 4700$, I bet with 0.01 btc for a singel or parlay in sportbettings, the same thing if 1 btc worth 3700$.
some people with huge bitcoin investment / bankroll would really consider so hard to change their bet size from bitcoin to USD due so fear lost too much value. but for those people with small bankroll i think it won't affected much and would remain gamble with bitcoin rates instead switch it to USD , it's normal.

It doesn't really make any difference if you have a fixed bankroll that you're following. Whether the value of bitcoins rises or falls you stick to your fixed bankroll and bet without considering the market statistics and fluctuations.

Keep doing that useless action , you will get nothing but regret ,
Moving forward and don't count what you have lost in gambling , it could be so vulnerable ,
You could become an addict just because want your huge loss value back in your bankroll ,
All of it just a fantasy , change that mindset and gamble whatever the amount as long as you can afford to lose it.

Not so much, I still play with same amounts like before. But the feeling is different, couple days ago I had over 30 mbtc and in one moment I'm watching that amount and thinking how that amount worth more then 100$, last year it was like around 30$, what a difference. That night I lost all that, and a bit more and after that I was counting how much that is in dollars and how much I lost in dollars is much more then I use to play with. If btc rise more I will play with same amounts like I play now, it will be harder to earn that, but it will worth saving for that.

If you do gambling in low quality gambling site means you will find the amount you invested in the fiat value in USD or your country currency value. This will make you think that you are investing big fund in the site to get larger view. I will suggest you to quit yourself from the gambling site.

Yes it did change a lot with my gambling habit and when the price is higher I guess it's better and it is in my favor.

If prices go up, do you lower you bets? For example, you normally bet 0.001 per bet, do you lower it to 0.0001 per bet?

Yes, this is the advantage that I'm talking about, the price of bitcoin is affecting my bets and your example is what I really do.

If prices go down, do you place higher bets? For example, you normally bet 0.001 per bet, do you place higher bets like 0.01 per bet?

Not that really high, I'm just adjusting the amount of bitcoin and I'm still depending on the value of USD.

I dont have affect of price volatility as i have invested a bankroll and just following it and according to it i am gambling and what ever the profit i am getting i just convert them to fiat currency without seeing the price as i cannot use bitcoin for any purchase or other thing that is why i have to convert to use it in my real life.
At the present moment, the bitcoin is facing a very tough time and converting it into fiat just for the sake of gambling is not a wise action. Bitcoin is lingering between 3300 dollars and 3500 dollars. The value will still decrease. I think it is better to get more bitcoins at this time than spending it on gambling.

yes its not wise if we are spend our bitcoin for just playing gambling because we'd better to use for trading to increase our bitcoin amount or we can sell into fiat or withdraw into our account. but its different if we use our bitcoin for investing with the house because as long as we don't playing gambling and only make invest, then i think we can increase the amount although its not guarantee for short term but i think its work.

Yes same thing I do, I really don't mind the price of the bitcoin since it really doesn't affect my gambling habits. I also convert my earnings into fiat because right now using bitcoins online are still limited in our country so most of the things I like to purchase need to use a fiat.
I think it is the only limitation that we encounter every day and need it to be demolished as soon as possible. Bitcoin are not easily accessed in our country rather it is some sort of banned, we can say. So much difficulty it is to make daily usage of bitcoin, you must convert it into fiat and then enjoy. But otherwise i hope the day will become very soon that we use it very easily

Yes , it affected strongly to me, specially on 2 things: basebet and coin i choose to play. When bitcoin is losing it's price, the basebet gonna rise a bit depend on how much bitcoin lost it's price and it's opposite when bitcoin is increasing it's price. When bitcoin is down, i prefer selling bitcoin into usdt to hold than still keep btc to play. Better i play with others currency like eth or doge or ltc.

Bitcoin volatility does not affect me in my gambling habits.  If I used to bet in 0.001 i keep on betting on that amount.  I do not know, for me Bitcoin is separate currency and i always disregard the conversion factor of Bitcoin to fiat currency.  For me Bitcoin has the same amount all through out.  If it is 0.001 BTC it is 0.001 BTC.  I do not know if I can keep it that way though, if Bitcoin is equal to a million dollar.  ;D

That's how bitcoin betting goes your bankroll value could drop hundreds of $$ in a week then go back up after a month. I know a few sportsbook did lower their bet amounts to 0.0001 btc because of the sudden price increase. A solution to this is to find a different sportsbook where they'll convert your bitcoin to fiat everytime you make a deposit.

I think having a reliable wallet with complete options of exchanging bitcoin to fiat can be the best way to do prior sending amounts for you bettings. With that it's a very fast transactions to have and sportsbook gambling games will be much more profitable, although losing is prone always.

Yes it does since I am depending my bet in our local currency,
So if the price drop down that would mean that my bet in bitcoin would be higher .

yes it greatly affects my bets on gambling, for example if the value of bitcoin today is low then i bet high amounts because i cant earn much profit if my bets are low as the value of bitcoin is low already. but if the price of bitcoin is a high enough , i dont usually gamble my balance because i feel that my losses are big enough and ill regret it  much if i loose it on gambling so id rather save it up and wait again sooner or later if the value begins to drop again.

so you are just playing or betting when bitcoin value are low aren't you? you can always convert it first to fiat for you to check if how much money you can afford to lose before playing, for those who really attached with gambling they ain't needed to worry about the value since they are basing their bankroll with the amount of fiat they got, its also a safe precaution in order for us to use the money that we can afford to lose.

You people are freaking me out here ---> if you budget your bankroll by setting aside a PERCENTAGE of your bankroll for gambling, then that percentage remains the same.  It doesn't change --->concentrating on the exchange rates and mixing up the conversions factors, while playing, will only lead to confusion.  It's unnecessary.  If you have to worry about the exchange rates while you're gambling, then your bankroll management budget needs to be re-evaluated, or ---> maybe you shouldn't be gambling.

You either calculate your bet amount in fiat or BTC. But don't mingle both your calculation will become wrong. Suppose if you bet by counting in BTC after winning your bet, of course, you will receive more bitcoins. Your investment plus winning bitcoins. Here you just calculate how much BTC you received don't convert it into USD. Or else do betting by based on USD calculation then you will get one idea that you are in winning side or losing side.

It is a nice thought to save bitcoins. Those people who have invested in bitcoins in the past are enjoying a cherished life today and if someone will save bitcoins today, no doubt he will be securing a luxurious future. The best is to place a bet with a little amount of BTCs.

The thing is if you started gambling using bitcoins and prices go up, then the fact is that your bitcoins remain the same amount. So for example, if you had 1,000 bitcoins in 2011 and you are still gambling till today, do you lower the amount you bet or just retain the status quo? Since in this case you still are gambling in bitcoins and not in dollars.

Gambling with such a precious asset like bitcoins is also not supported by me. Some people say that they gamble in an amount of bitcoins that is equivalent to what they intended for fiat but unlike fiat bitcoin price keeps on evolving and this way the bitcoin gambler suffers more loss over time unnecessarily.

I am sure after few years when a gambler will be calculating how much they have wagered and how much they have had lost. If those figures sum up into million dollars, I could not assume how their feeling will be.

It would be catastrophic actually. I also oppose gambling with all digital assets, especially bitcoins. It is going to touch 10k dollars within two years and then of course all those gamblers who are carelessly losing it today will be regretting. It is better to gamble with fiat and much better to not even gamble.

Yes I do, i always deposit my bitcoin to gambling site is around $100 per week if i lose it all i will deposit again next week but if i can run it i will not deposit. When the price go up, i will lower my deposit and when the price go down, i will deposit more. For each bet, still same and don't care about the price.

Yes i think my gambling bet thru bitcoins varies on the value of each coin. However it is not lime how you described its changing. As for me when i gamble my coins i am basing it on the value if it on our currency. So once the coin gets a higher value i tend to bet less and when it ia its lower value i tend to bet more. Moreso I  am not so much into gambling my coins because its risky

Don't you think your bitcoins are actually being wasted away and you can utilize them in some more beneficial way?

Those people who have invested in bitcoins in the past are enjoying a cherished life today and if someone will save bitcoins today, no doubt he will be securing a luxurious future. The best is to place a bet with a little amount of BTCs.
Its always been advisable to save up bitcoin as much as we can and if we do decide to use it on playing gambling then just set out an ample amount which would satisfy our cravings for leisure.Im sure those people who lost lots of btc in the past are regretting as of now when they do saw that the price of each bitcoin is already valuable. This is why we should not tend to waste it as of now.

This would really be the thing on which you would lose up those bitcoins which later on on upcoming years you would able to calculate on how much you do lose bitcoins which would really give some regretful moments thinking up that we shouldnt use bitcoins on our gambling habit but its too late, things are already done and we cant fix that anymore. This is why we should think of on how we do spend our bitcoin wisely.

Yes, for sure. When bitcoin wasn't so valuable, you can bet I didn't care all that much. But when the price is increasing by leaps and bounds, it does make me think twice about putting down a large bet.

Right, but I think more people are most likely to use bitcoin in gambling when its price is high. They think that using bitcoin at high price will consume lesser amount of bitcoin. Well that is true but just like you, I am more likely to have a second though in using bitcoin if I know that its price rising. That is the time and is a good opportunity for me to earn profit so why would I waste it in playing gambling.

I bet proportionally to the Dollar price too, so it affects my game a lot and more than this, when I see BTC price is too volatile I prefer to don't gamble, better to wait the prices become stable again, the volatility can bring a nice opportunity of guaranteed profit that gambling doesn't offer us, so it would be a waste of BTCs to gamble while the prices are changing too much.

I think there are some crazy guys that still bet 1 BTC sometimes at once. $4000 is nothing for millionaires/billionaires.  :D

It is a normal behavior when we start our bet, if bitcoin price is in a high value, then sometime we feel consciously and avoid to play with a big money, and prefer to play with a small bet, and i think it is a right thinking for being a good gambler. For example, If we use our big money when bitcoin price is too high, and by chance we have lost our bet, then it mean we have our big lost. However always take a right step and decision, firstly see price value of bitcoin and then start betting.

I agree. You just tend to be conscious of your betting pattern specially when the price of bitcoin is too high. I remember I played with just .01BTC in a dice game. However, that time the price is too high so I just bet conservatively. Because if I'm going to convert it to fiat, its big money for me. But then I lost, so its really hard for me. That's why I only do play when I think that I can afford the bitcoin that I used in gambling. Because it really affects one's betting strategy if the price is too high, well in my case.

For me yes it does affect my gambling habits. First off because I gamble converting it to fiat currency. So for me the risk is determined under the prices of fiat and not really just bitcoins. If I don't change my gambling bet size it would be catastrophic for me. For example, back when prices were just $300 a bitcoins, a 0.001btc bet would have been just fine, but now that is big already for me.

No, When I will be betting/gambling with bitcoin I just go with bitcoin amount which I can afford to loss. I don't calculate how much I will loss or win in terms of USD everytime I bet, I just go with what I can afford to loss in bitcoin.

However minimum amount which I used to bet on per match 1 year ago was around 0.005BTC but now I am only betting like 0.001BTC per match.

I think it does not affect me since I just play using the faucet and not really the money I have in my wallet or either Bitcoin wallet. The bitcoin price might dump, it might pump it doesn't matter, what matter is I am having fun gambling without touching any of my balances.

Really that is the better idea because if you convert them into USD means it will hurt when you lose them in gambling. I think most of the people will calculate in terms of USD when they gain or lose through gambling. Those who compare with USD it will really effect to those users.

that is right, i also reduce my betting and i only want to spend 0.0013 btc for a week, no matter if i got lose in one game or not, i can only use that amount for playing gambling. but usually i convert 0.0013 btc into dogecoin and then i can spend in dice games. i think i can spend hundreds of dogecoin than spend 0.0005 btc because hundreds of dogecoin is no problem for me.

Yes it affects to all the volatilility of bitcoin. But now its normal already. You have to make your own tactics what to do so that you will not lose of bitcoin ,unless you're in need you dont have choice but to bet your coins. But if you win its a favor to hold your bitcoin and sell it later when you want to sold it in a higher value. Its a favor to have bitcoin in o lower price to get ready for price increase.Although some are affected especially the people having bitcoin who are in need they have to use their bitcoin werher they like it or not.

That would just cause more inconvenience to the gambler. Sportsbook like 5dimes accepts bitcoin then turns your bitcoin deposit to fiat and when you withdraw they'll convert the fiat amount that you requested in bitcoins. Another temporary solution to this is to bet with other crypto like ltc and eth or even in game items like csgo skins while the price isn't stable.

Really I am just wondered and astonished with the people who are even gambling with bitcoins. It is not bad to even gamble with fiat but okay let it be a little foolish but why people are just wasting their entire bitcoin wallet just for gambling. They think by doing so, their bitcoins could be doubled? Seriously? They are just fools, fools who never get their money again.

Because some people has no access to credit cards or a gambling account that requires so much KYC that they even require a selfie with your mom. :/
Bitcoins provided a way for people to gamble, not every body bought bitcoins for purposes of speculative investments, some uses it to gamble on casinos or sportsbooks.

This is why bitcoin gambling is becoming popular because of the convenience that it gives and there not hassle on following up shitty KYC rules. Bitcoin price volatility doesnt affect too much on how i do gamble but somehow you would regret later on because you would lose up soo much totally when price do rise up.

Unless someone converts USD to BTC, the price volatility won't create any difference. And even if you are holding some BTC and gambling the rest, I agree surely he/she will feel or remember the loss he made on gambling, but thats future. At the present mostly it doesnt matters untill I buy Bitcoins.

You are right! The volatility actually determine the level of bet you play when compared to its proportion in USD. You could have played with 1BTC about 7 years ago without being bothered but playing with that now is obviously a very huge risk.

However, most online gambling sites have been able to reduce the minimum bet as the value keeps rising compared to before, so they also understand the impact of the volatility as well as the users.

Well for me, if i m earning btc, then there's not much difference in it. Of course if i'm gambling from btc i've bought from fiat there probably would be second thoughts about the fiat equivalent but if i earned btc, its the same

those people with huge desire and have a lot of addiction problem would become greed to keep placing bet in bitcoin no matter how much it is in dollar value. they tend to take that big opportunity (for them it's an opportunity sometimes) to make a big money or just go home. i wouldn't do that as well , prefer to play safe and stay on the limit line.

Of course price volatility greatly affect gambling habits because if the price is high then I will earn more and more money and I will gamble a lot but if the price of bitcoin falls and I lose in that or my earnings are very little then I may quit gambling habit because of the money. Gambling relates only with money. The more money the more ambling, the less money the less gambling or no gambling.

I think if I want to gamble I will never gamble with my bitcoin because bitcoin is the only source of my income and if I lose my bitcoin my earnings will be finished. I think I will gamble only with the earnings from bitcoin and definitely the price volatility affect my habits of gambling. If I have no or less which is only for my daily necessities how can I gamble? I think it is not sensible to gamble with the money of your family needs.

Not at all because I never gamble and especially in bitcoin because I have no experience of gambling and if I put some bitcoin in gambling I am sure that I will lose that. So for me price volatility is only affected my earnings and not gambling habits. No doubt many people who are addicted of gambling will be affected due to the volatility in price because of the earnings but I suggest not gambling if the price is too low and so is the income.

The price fluctuation indeed affect gamblers behaviour in regard with the money they can afford to lose. If for example a person can afford to lose $50 in a single bet, he has to change the amount of bitcoin he use to bet to reflect the price changes. Today's price is increasing so hard and I am sure most gamblers will reduce the amount of bitcoin they are willing to bet.

Besides, I think Bitcoin's price may affect people to stop gambling. If you win some good amount of money and you keep it in your Bitcoin wallet. And then the price of Bitcoin going up like a rocket, you will get profit with no work to do. You realize that investing is better than gambling, then you will stop gambling. You can see my point right ?

But in this thread, we are only talking about bitcoin gambling, then sure bitcoin price effect on our gambling habit. If you are not agree on it, then why you are giving suggest to play gambling with other money?
No doubt gambling is not belong to bitcoin, but if you play gambling with bitcoin then bitcoin price matter. You take turn from bitcoin because bitcoin is expensive then you want to play gambling with other money or crypto currencies, it mean the bitcoin's price effect you, then you take turn.

I used to be easily affected by the price of the bitcoin to control my gambling needs. However, some time ago, i have shifted from gambling bitcoin to gambling dogecoin. Two of the best things about dogecoin are that the supply is huge and the price is stable in satoshi.

The price fluctuation indeed affect gamblers behaviour in regard with the money they can afford to lose. If for example a person can afford to lose $50 in a single bet, he has to change the amount of bitcoin he use to bet to reflect the price changes. Today's price is increasing so hard and I am sure most gamblers will reduce the amount of bitcoin they are willing to bet.
i do believe mostly adjust their bet amount in dollar rate , it is wasting too much money indeed when you don't care about bitcoin value , it is so precious now , don't make a bad decision by keep making the same amount bet in bitcoin .

in the future it will so difficult to earn bitcoin , save it now before too late. gamble only for small amount are enough.

For me it does not effects my gambling habits. When I gamble the base bet always depend on the total balance . As I always prefer to play with less total balance my bb is about 100 sat always.

For me the ever increasing price of bitcoin is a problem as i have not a ton of coins when it was easy to acquire and so every time i plan to gamble i have spend my money to purchase the coins and that is not always looking promising since it is really hard to make enough profit while i used to have in the past, the leverage is certainly restricted.

If you find out that it is hard then why you are still continuing to do such thing? You are just wasting of your bitcoin and at the same time you are wasting up your local fiat money. Bitcoins price volatility would not really be a major problem on playing gambling as long we are basing always on the equivalent or value of fiat but thinking off on piling all the loses you made on playing gambling on bitcoin form would really make you regret.

well if you are buying coins just to gamble and its right that you will be affected of bitcoin rising as you will see that every purchase
you made got a lesser value in btc that you bought so your bankroll would be much lower every time the value increase.

Yes, its affect me and others who started to gamble with bitcoins two years ago. Minimal bets in some casino's stayed the same, and that is a bit trouble for me. Now I need to deposit same amount of bitcoins like before to play some games, just now that amount worth much more then before while I have same minimal bets. Some bitcoin casinos will need to lower minimal bets if they wish to stay competitive. Nitrogen done that with sports betting, now minimal bet in sports at nitrogen sports book is 0.1 mBTC. That is great for us people who like to bet with minimal possible amounts.

Yeah that is true, back in 2013 when I was still gambling, I just readily gambled as much as 0.01btc a day on nitrogen, but now I can't even bet 0.001btc. I think it really does affect everybody's bet amounts. I think this is because people try to convert their bitcoins to fiat everytime they are betting. So I guess it depends on the person gabling.

Yes bitcoin prices will definitely affect how we play gambling. when bitcoin prices decline we will more often play gambling and when the price increases then we will be more careful and limit our spending. I think the benchmark to play gambling is USD dollars, because the USD is a sure thing, while if the benchmark bitcoin then we will be quite difficult. so try not to overload and play with the amount of bitcoin we have because it could be a regret in the future.

It matters whenever we play and when we play and realizes that the price we have to risk can increase when we just hold it in btc,as we see it's price now it's really increasing. So better use some alts if we really wants to play and were confused on using btc in playing.

It is totally dependen on the individual's preference but most of the time, gamblers tend to deviate from their priorities and statt exhausting all of their resources unconsciously. Perosnally, I would not mind if the price of my bitcoins are low, as long as I gamble then it's alright. This question is purely subjective and is a case to case basis.

But you should be betting same equivalent amount in a fiat currency right? But only bitcoins amount will go down if it's prices go up a lot.

I agree, if the price of Bitcoin goes up we can lower the amount of BTC we are betting, but I guess there are games that have fixed minimum amount of BTC needed to play that game so it means once BTC goes up the requirement goes up.  Lucky I looked at BTC as separate currency and never think of its USD equivalent when I am playing.  It is kinda stupid but well saves me headache of computing and calculating how much I won or lose in USD. ;D

Since I looked bitcoin value in dollar so yes it's affect my gambling habit when bitcoin value getting expensive.
I'm wonder if someone able still bet 1 btc per bet just like happen on three years ago, but yes...when you want profit, dare to take the risk or you got nothing !
those people with huge desire and have a lot of addiction problem would become greed to keep placing bet in bitcoin no matter how much it is in dollar value. they tend to take that big opportunity (for them it's an opportunity sometimes) to make a big money or just go home. i wouldn't do that as well , prefer to play safe and stay on the limit line.
I think it is not sensible to gamble with the money of your family needs.
sometimes people love to take big and bigger risk , by gamble use bitcoin you would have a chance to make your profit get doubled and even quadrupled due bitcoin price growth and your gamble winning happened at same time. but yeah you have to know that the risk in gambling are so crzay high , it's just makes people addicted mostly. there's no harm to gamble in bitcoin rates as long as you aware about the risk.

I usually bet 0.001 per bet and i don't care if the bitcoin price is going up or going down, because its still the same, in the end most of my bets are going lose. But when we do gambling and win many bitcoins and knowing that the bitcoin price so high, it feels good though.

That's good if you have like thousands of bitcoins and not really caring about how much the bitcoins are worth in USD or your currency. I guess it depends on the matter of perspective. If you are super rich then you would opt to just stick with what you were used to. Remember back in 2013 0.001btc is worth like 0.3 usd, comparing to today, 0.001 is worth about $5.2 usd.

Yes because whenever I see the price of BTC climbing up the charts it encourages me to play dice games or bet on my favorite sports. Its like BTC price is reminding mo to play a few hours of dice and spend some Bitcoin hoping for a big returns. I even play dice and change the settings of % of chance in winning. I guess its not only me who likes to gamble when price of BTC is up.

it has i stopped gambling once in for all few weeks back i saw the amount of loss i had and converted it to the current rate sums to a really high amount we could have made the profit we wanted from gambling just by holding the coin
You should take your losses into consideration that is the only way you will understand how much you have already lost and you should not gamble if you feel it is a huge amount you should instead try something else like trading to recover your losses

i will say forget about the idea of trying to recover the losses completely and focus on something else, chances are that you will become an addict if you go ahead and pursue those losses. It's better to perhaps start a business or do something tangible that you can control fully than taking chances

You have some point there. After all, who knows if 1 satoshi may end up being equivalent to a dollar in the future and the little you are making now can amount to something huge later on in future , ;D However, you should consider the fact that as much as you want to win, you can be losing some huge value into gambling which could amount to something much later on.

I do this as well. Since I always convert my fiat to bitcoins whenever I am gambling, then I always convert it in my mind whenever I place every bet. So this ends up to be that I am gambling with its fiat equivalent. I don't really gamble as much but whenever I do, I just set a limit like $1 per bet is the max I will do. I've stuck with this and really just keep doing it and not really losing a lot.

When I get to gamble, I think only in bitcoins, and the risk is still the same, it's just that the converted value is a lot harder and more scary to bet because you have the possibility to lose it all. I don't want to know how much it converts to unless I'm going to withdraw it, maybe because I might just regret it.

Basing with fiat equivalent is the most common thing i do when i play gambling because i dont really tend to use fix bitcoin amount knowing price might rise anytime which it would really change the local fiat equivalent and im not too brave on risking huge amounts on gambling and i would rather use it on other important thing than no playing gambling.I can play but only on spare bitcoins and on spare time.

I prefer to not to gamble with bitcoin because I want to save my bitcoin. There are a number of alts with which you can gamble where the chances to increase the number of bets also gets more. More bets means more number of chances to win.
The bitcoin price is highly volatile and it's very expensive nowadays.

Gambling with alts is also my primary lookout, but yes, if I don't find other than Bitcoin as a getaway I do use my Bitcoin. But I don't get affected by using either Bitcoins or altcoins because I don't use fiat to convert into BTC or alts to play.
The earning if received considering fiat equivalent, then I probably don't use them much for gambling, rather I withdraw it or store it. And if received in form of Bitcoin as a currency then I use them in gambling only after saving or holding some as investment.

Not just me, but most people would agree that the price factor does affect the way we use to gamble.
It was easy to lose even BTC0.1 when the price was $250 (a time when I gambled a lot). Then, a time came when it crossed back 1000 again and I have fixed my weekly betting size to BTC0.05 (not per bet, but total bets' wagering not more than BTC0.05). It means even if I lose, I would lose not more than $200 a month, which was affordable. Then, the price had a rapid increase and it gradually caught the attention of media as well as investors and 5x was made possible. I now bet not more than BTC0.1 a month (total wagering of BTC0.1) which means I can afford to lose $500-$600 a month (not compulsory that I lose only, but just a speculation). That's the difference it made to the betting sizes, hope you understood how I gamble.  ;)

This is how I imagined how this should be answered. Now my conclusion is that we, the users of bitcoins, are not using it as much as how satoshi envisioned it. From what I read and understood, bitcoins should not really be pegged at the USD price but that is how we do it. We still equate it to fiat. Though what's good is that we have an alternative to fiat which is far easier to use in gambling sites.

That's the difference it made to the betting sizes, hope you understood how I gamble.  ;)

True this apply to those players who keep pegging bitcoin to USD since they calculate their losses in terms of dollar not in term of BTC.  But some players thinks BTC as independent from USD and does not really care if it goes up.  I saw someone losing around 200 plus BTC when Bitcoin was around 1k USD and the guy just say that it is not real money just Bitcoin.  LOL.

Not just me, but most people would agree that the price factor does affect the way we use to gamble.

If the player only see BTC as the currency being played, probably it won't affect him much but think about it, if you were playing a long time ago 0.1 in a value of BTC at $250, it's just nothing and seeing that you are able to do it, makes you think that it's still possible to do in a $7000 value in BTC with also 0.1. Basically, it's the same thing, it's just that makes you more aware on how much are you willing to lose.

That is true, if you use bitcoins just as it is then you can go and gamble without even trying to see what the current price of bitcoins are. But the problem is we are not all early adopters that have thousands of bitcoins in their possession. Most of us are just playing with a few dollars and if that is the case then we would really need to consider how much are bitcoins at the time we are playing.

No, I do not think both of the scenarios are same. Bitcoin price volatility has serious impact on the gambling habits indeed but there are some exceptions too such as the addict people who never care about the level of losses and all they want is to gamble no matter the price is $250 or has increased up to a present value of $7,000.

As for me I have stopped taking risk at all and never use Bitcoins for the sake of gambling in present because taking such a huge risk is not a phenomenon thing at all.

Well perhaps that's because you're also thinking about the fiat value of what you're gambling with. There are people who doesn't even think about the equivalent value and is specifically focused on bitcoin gambling.

If now, yes. With very high bitcoin values now. I have reduced basebet as wel profit targets from everytime gambling. Usually profits target is 0.01btc per day. But now, I am just 300Ksat only. The high value bitcoin affects my habits in gambling.

If a person does not look at the USD price then he will not change his gambling habits and his bet size for sure. But for people like me and others that are similarly situated (probably 99% of all gamblers) will likely look at the price of bitcoins and adjust their bets accordingly. Since, for me and everyone else for sure we do not want to bet big amounts of money even if the amount of BTC has not changed but the price has greatly increased meaning per bet will change of course.

Yes bitcoin price volatility has a various impact on the gambling habit of the people but the whole scenario does not make a sense at al. this is because if the prices actually increase to  much higher level then instead of focusing on holding the Btcs the rate of gambling via digital assets gets increased to  an unexpected level.

So I think that one should stay away from this sort of practice and keep on collecting more and more of the coins as the price fluctuation are again expected to happen at the end of this year causing the value to eventually risen up to 8 k dollars in December.

It is true that bitcoin price volatility affect my gambling habits. According to the rate only I plan my betting as I am not a daily gambler I have a budget for my monthly family expenses. I never go out of my budget. Every two weeks once I use to place now it changed to once in a month only.

well that's really possible so instead of gambling your money better to invest it and treat this investing as also gambling between the time, bitcoin value
always fluctuate and if we invest by now and the value rises up for sure a big earnings will be given as a reward for those who place their money.

Yes it is, it's affect my gambling habits. I usually bet 0.01 per slip (I gamble on sportsbook) before but after the bitcoin price increasing so big, I decreased it into 0.005 per slip. If the price of bitcoin go down, of course I will back to 0.01 per slip. It's depend on the price of bitcoin itself.

There was a time when I used to gamble with 1 btc or more but at that time btc worth around 100-200$. Now I can't even think of risking 7.7k$ of money to make just a little profit. Gambling has changed a lot for me.

It most definitely affects the way a person would bet.
If they know they are betting nearly $10 worth in bitcoin as opposed to $1 it use to be worth for 1mbtc then it would affect on how much you put down per wager. :-[

With the current price value of bitcoin, I think it's not worth for gambling if ever the value becames so expensive. It's same with price as it went down to lower value, but gambling habits could not be affected at all because most of the people who played gambling doesn't care for price value as long as they're having fun on their bets.

That's good of you. This won't be done by majority of the gamblers, because even a small loss will end up in a big loss as the price has moved high. In specific I do gambling with bitcoin, but in a calculated form of dollars, because however high the value grows  we won't get affected of the same unless we become greedy.

But I always do another way because I set my bet amount in USD and I will adjust my bitcoin amount accordingly. If prices go up then I will reduce bitcoin bet amount to match USD price because it is a hard earn money and doesn't want to waste so much on gambling. I usually fix around $50 to $100 for each session of gambling and never go above that amount and play only once or twice in a month.

Isn't it another way around? if you have seen that the price of bitcoin goes up, surely there are other gamblers that will make their bet up so they can get a higher sum, but in my case I don't really look at the value of bitcoin, but the bitcoin itself you are not playing a gambling game with your fiat but with your bitcoin so decide in playing with it, well when I play gambling I usually don't look at the value but I am setting an amount that I think I can be OK when I lose it,
you have a point mate, gamblers greed mentality(maybe not all of them but most of gamblers)will only push them to bet higher because the bitcoin price is high.they will eager to make much more than what they usually bet.and virtual bet is different from acual money betting.you cant feel the value of your win or loss not like when your dealing physical money.

Yes. If the bitcoin's price is high then probably gambler would bet in higher amount possible but when the price is low then bet money will be in moderation. The higher your bet is the greater of your chance to win bigger.

Bitcoin price is at around $16k now (frankly, it's awesome). For sure, I will lower my bet amounts now to reflect this price changes. 0.001 BTC each session would be better for me at the current price.

No matter how much is the bitcoin price, it wont affect my gambling habits as I always using my own limitation in my local currency rate (IDR to be exact). Lets say my limit is 1,000,000 IDR so I will convert it into bitcoin. The amount of btc indeed will always change but my limit stays the same. My bet amount in btc will also change but not in IDR, so it will help me to avoid big loss if I have no limit in the rate of my local currency.

This would really be the main thing on here which it cant really affect our gambling habits since anytime we can make conversions basing on the amounts on our local fiat money which if bitcoins price did go up high but yet conversion would really be still remain depending if you are sticking on making bets on a certain amount not seeing on the value of btc putted but on the amount basing on your fiat conversion instead.I would say this thing isn't really a problem at all and making such issues or question because people can simply base their bets.

Some people do have the balls to risk on gambling and some are not which i can compare sometimes that those who holds of is much wiser since he do secure with just staking but expect less profits unlike on playing it on gambling possible profits might be huge but also the higher risk on losing your bitcoin instead of earning some of it.Just would really depend on how risk-taker you are.

In september it wouldn't be as serious question as it's today, price is very high. For example 3 years ago I could play with 1btc or more and make my great strategies but now it's so high, I can't even risk 0.1 btc and for some strategic players 0.1 btc = loss. Maybe you'll say start with 0.0000001 btc but what to do if that was considered in my plan 3 years ago? Now I can't release it because nothing worths to risk 16000$. So it really affects.

Even tho i don't support gambling at all and i'm very glad that i have stopped it for more than a year now , i wouldn't really think or appreciate the idea to gamble in bitcoin , especially for someone that has the bad luck that i got !
I do understand that whether you gamble with fiat or bitcoin it's the same because even if the value of the coin fluctuates it won't matter because when you win your bankroll will increase , same as whenever you gamble with fiat , but that's really for people who have a win average rate much higher than the one i got .

So gambling in bitcoin will be really a hurtful thing for my funds since i won't be winning any money and thus wasting the potential value of the coins i'm loosing .Whether when i gamble in fiat it means that i just lost the amount that i placed on my bet , not an amount of money that could multiply by 5 or 10 times in a very short period of time .

I lost like 2 bitcoins when it was worth 300-400$ gambling. That would have been close to 40k now, which is just unbelievable. I'm personally not gambling much if at all right now, it's just not fun for me anymore and knowing that I could be losing thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in the future by gambling now makes me not want to gamble nor spend any cryptocurrency ever again.

When we keep on thinking on how much our savings or holding will be if we not cashout it, if we not used it in gambling, we can really get frustrated and stress knowing we did bet almost worth 1btc in different sporys and dice but that's how it goes, it's really unbelievable that btc goes this high that's why as much as possible I'm trying to bet with some alts.

This is the real case where now everybody would start thinking actually to save btc rather than to use it anywhere . Because no body expected the prices to rise so soon that it has crossed 16k within short span of time. A year back one could easily gamble 0.1 without thinking much but now even to gamble 0.01 seems too risky because in 2018 we can see btc crossing 20k and creating new highs like 2017.

If prices go down, do you place higher bets? For example, you normally bet 0.001 per bet, do you place higher bets like 0.01 per bet?

If i gambling my bets is always constant as long  i have a  capital to gambling and this factor it would not affect in my way of gaming.we already know that bitcoin is volatile in the exchange market, but in order to achieve  my lucky pot  in games  of gambling i've did not decrease my betting because i have a target ,to earn a huge profits in terms of gambling.

You made a risky goal, but I am not sure whether you will reach your goal or not. Making money in gambling is not easy that everyone knows including you and bitcoin price is also high then also you took this decssion means great. I wish you all the best and achieve your goal asap. I personally don't encourage anyone to do gamble, but in your case, i think you have more confidence, so I wish you.

maybe for me nothing has changed even though bitcoin prices soared. because I'm gambling with bitcoin, and I've had a bitcoin budget to gamble since 2016. so even though prices are changing but nothing has changed in my bet .. because I have never bought bitcoin since the first time I made a deposit

Even if he's confidence is high or his luck but it does still affect greatly at your gambling habit when there is a volatility. If you bet using Bitcoin it is not recommended because it is a great loss. That's why you should prefer choosing fiat currency to bet because fiat is not that high in every fluctuation and also you can save thousands of bucks when using fiat currency.

I think this guy is really a lot of strategies that too confidence to says get a huge profits in gambling. But I don't know if he really get able to win in gambling by using whatever strategies that he has because all I know in gambling is more in risk and purely requires 100% to bet a huge profits or hit in a jackpot. But if that he really believe the best way to earn btc then, there's nothing we can do about it. Good luck for him!

I'm affected as I only have some dollar to use and if I converted that to btc it will turned to a small amount and for sure I wont enjoy my stay if I lose

Yes because when you start gambling lets say you only have $100 as a capital let's say acquire it three months ago with the current pricing of bitcoin today and you still have that capital that would be good enough because you don't do anything then your money appreciate and so the other thing around happen if btc price drops. The higher the value of bitcoin the more it triggers a player to do gambling

It doesn't directly affect them anymore because most of my current bets are done in the equivalent bitcoin of the US dollar and so no matter how high or low the value of bitcoin i am staking the fixed US dollar equivalent and not a fixed satoshis.

I don't see how the rise or the drop of the bitcoin value would affect my gambling proccess or habits, since if it goes up i'll be globally richer so i will not mind that bet value and if it goes down that bet value will also be minimal.

Some prefer to not depend their bets on bitcoins price volatility whether it gets high or takes low. For me, i chose to lower my bets when the price is high, for me not to feel bad when I loss. But still, the essence of gambling is taking risks no matter how much loss or gain from it. The decision is still depends on us, on how much your willing to give up and expect to gain out of your luck during the game.

With this current price it reached, i believe gambling with bitcoin is not a good idea at all. Even a small amount of bitcoin is valuable because that amount you spend will probably be more useful for you later if you keep it now. I spent most of bitcoin i earned on gambling sites. I did not realize it until now.
The high price of bitcoin definitely affects gambling habits. You become more careful with the games you play and you set limits for yourself.

Gamblers will likely to adjust their current bet due to the value of btc is very high. If they don't make any adjustment then probably they will lose in a short period of time. But we all know that gamblers are good at numbers so probably  they already know what to do when volatility  happen.

Volatility of bitcoin affects in gambling because if l won,  then the price is down of course it's like lm a loser. But if you won then the price value is very high it's like you won a jackpot. Volatility is good in trading you can earn a lot or more because of the price that will multiply into many. Bitcoin volatility is favor to all savers of bitcoin. They have the opportunity to earn a big amount and easy to become a millionaire. Volatility of bitcoin is questionable but it makes people to monitor the price and have a quick big profit.

I would assume that as bitcoin's price is very voltality, it makes some people who are invested in bitcoin to develop a living gambling habit.

As investing in bitcoin is a very risky movement, some people who are not used to such price movements(usually people who comes from the stocks market) will start having stress and may develop a gambling addiction.

Risky investments are not good for anyone.

Absolutely true, it does matters, for sure. My gambling is getting reduced gradually as one of the reason is this. I don't mind trading even its fluctuates as my profit percentage is higher than gambling. But even if it volatile, I might not completely leave it.

It is still a good idea for those who want to have fun and really do have a lot of money to throw around but when I considered the amount of money I have lost if I had left it in my wallet, then it totally changed my orientation toward gambling with bitcoin.

Until maybe they start having USDT to gamble with on most of these online casinos, then I may probably reconsider since I know at least that one is more of a centralized environment.

Everyone is thinking same now, who knows the bitcoin price will increase like this in just 11 months. Even me also sold and lost in gambling number of coins, and Now I am calculating if I hold those coins what will be my profit. Now it is very tough to recollect those coins. Apparently. When it all started and you could even and easily bet 0.01 bitcoin for a start, I doubt if there can ever be anyone who would even want to try that kind of shit now. A time will really come when probably betting even 1 satoshi will be a hard thing to do and then you see so many people just bailing out. The thing is that it will just keep reducing the amount at least for now as the price keeps increasing.

Obviously, no gamblers needs the guide that what he should do when the price of BTCs has risen in the market and when had fallen. They all have the knowledge of how much money they should bet when the price has raised or fallen.

However, the amount of bet completely changes when the change in price is found. Gamblers who played with double amount change them into single amounts and vice versa.
Yeah! You were so true. Gamblers are aware about every single update of BTCs and after making their static decisions, they come up in the market of gambling with their money.

They are well aware of all the rise and fall of the prices of BTCs because they cannot risk their money in order to have little or no knowledge. Only those gamblers are not aware about the rise and fall of BTCs’ price in market that do gambling for fun seeking.

Yup, it definitely does. I guess that's one good thing about the volatility of Bitcoin. Despite the low rates, you can make the most out of it especially in gambling. It feels like you don't have to bet on your usual rates, instead with low Bitcoin rates, you get to have more games to play. However, this also affects your winnings. I noticed that when you have a low range of bet, your winnings wouldn't be as high as they were. Either way, you get to have more rounds and more chances of winning no matter what.

But still we can gamble with cheap altcoins available on the market so it saves our money and also feed our gambling addiction.

Not on most cases because there are still some gamblers who dont actually care at all on their bitcoin to be spend on playing gambling and basing on its value it automatically adjusted on fiat value which means it doesnt generally affect on how we do gamble since we can anytime make basis on the amount based on fiat but if we do talk into other thing like valuing your bitcoins then it would be an another story.

Yep, maybe true gamblers won't bother too much with the price changing. All they know is just gambling and gambling. But for most  users who do gambling just an alternative way to collect bitcoin, I am sure they will adjust their gambling behaviour to reflect the price increase or even uses other altcoins to fulfill their habits.

I will not be surprised at all, that's why a lot of these cryptocurrency based gambling websites have now started accepting altcoins on their websites now, if not they were going to lose their markets to those who accepted them. But to those who are seriously addicted, they wouldn't even care one bit whether its low or high as long as they are gambling.

In some ways it affects on how we approach the game if the bitcoin value is lower some tend to play it more aggresively or sometimes safe because they want to keep their coins while if it is higher all risks are much higher and that is accounted for

I disagree with your statement that fluctuation in Bitcoin’s price affects ones gambling. Gambling is an addiction, haven’t you heard about that and once you start gambling, you don’t think about the rise and fall in the price of BTC’s because in coming years all the trading is going to be done in BTC’s which means that whatever happens, at the end the price of BTC’s is going to touch the top of market and then your btc’s earning during gambling will give you a lot of profit.

I think so. The limit depends on your decision how much to save or to bet. The low and high of bitcoin price does not really follow that when high price you will bet higher. Other wise, when the price is lower you will bet lower. Both situations have significance. I mean, when you bet at low meaning if you will loss it would lesser value. If you win at lower price it would be lesser value. So I guess its best to bet at high price to earn more the value. Its just simply winning at high price and loss at lower price.

When we buy bitcoin we always consider the amount we are buying and of course we understand the price volatility so we should cash out very soon the moment we will win, that's what I really do when I was just a pure gambler because my interest in using bitcoin is just to use it as a payment system. Now, that I am also a trader, I just put a little amount to gamble because I believe I can make more profit by holding my precious bitcoin.

It depends on the final goal. But in normally you should lower your bets if bitcoin goes up just not to lose all of your earnings.

If you are looking at the price conversion when gambling btc you will be more likely to change how much you are gambling. I'm sure 5 years plus ago people would not have thought twice about gambling full bitcoins.

I think many people might quit gambling with bitcoins due to its high price, and many want to hold their bitcoin for future purpose or for more profits.

If they do see much hassle on making bitcoin deposits because of confirmation matter then they would normally make use of altcoins which is really a good alternative and most gambling sites do have this option. They are clever enough to give easy ways on making a gambler could easily play on the site. Well done by most gambling sites do offer this. 8)

Your thinking in my opinion is totally wrong. People will continue to gamble with Bitcoins because playing with bitcoins can make more profits than playing with some real cash. Also the price of bitcoins is fluctuating in market all the time.

People leave playing gambling with bitcoins when its price suddenly rises because no one is willing to lose his bitcoins because they are going to be very helpful as all the trading is going to be done with BTCs in future.

It will not matter to those gamblers who are only into gambling, it will only affect those who just played gambling sometimes and do know how hard it is to earn bitcoin or those who are in trading, i tried to play with alt sometimes but the thrilled in playing in btc is really different somehow.

In some ways it affects on how we approach the game if the bitcoin value is lower some tend to play it more aggresively or sometimes safe because they want to keep their coins while if it is higher all risks are much higher and that is accounted for
Bitcoins price fluctuation doesn’t stop gamblers from gambling because mostly gamblers like to play with some real cash so that they can get their reward of double amount at the spot.

Also these gambler think that online gambling is difficult or in natural type of thing in which they cannot express all of the skills they have got which totally makes them unaware about online gambling and BTCs are involved in online gambling so they don’t care about BTCs’ price.

It don't effect much to my gambling habit otherwise it could simply effect to the amount of my base bet. I think i will decrease the basebet if the price is raising.

Yeah gamble with altcoins didn't as excited as when you gamble with bitcoin, the volatility in bitcoin often make you have a double benefits, when in altcoins sometimes you get a loss in value even you have won the game due its altcoins risk. But considering the high fee on bitcoin nowadays people would rethink to switch to altcoins for a while.

That's really the point when btc rise the actual base bet would be affected for those who care about their money, I think only heavy gamers and rich people who's not caring about money can continue playing using same base bet as they got a lots of money to consume while enjoying their habits.
