Gonna take a stab and say this is why: https://bravenewcoin.com/news/bitcoin-gold-a-friendly-dividend-fork-or-bitcoins-disaster-recovery-plan/

The last fork that happened in July or August caused same problems for altcoin market. This seems like it is the standard when forks happen.

Toinks! LOL!  ;D ;D Is this your first time trading or monitoring the charts? Have you been out of cryptocurrencies lately? This is very normal as for me. Do not expect that the altcoins will always be happy days and profit-earning. There will be downs along the way. Price fluctuation is after all very normal in crypto. It does not mean dying. It means, it is much alive.

It's just a little bit of a correction. With the average volatility of altcoins this level of price movement is normal.

It's just a matter of course. The number of Altcoins that fell in price, indicating that there is good news and bad news. And this signifies we need to buy at this time.

The btc dominance rating is already more than 50% now. Ofcourse it's all about the upcoming BTC hardfork where aeverybody will get free bitcoin gold and/or some another hardfork coin.

it is a common thing to happen
when the BTC price goes up, altcoin will goes down. as many people sell altcoin with the intention to profit in bitcoin
So do not worry, if you still hold altcoin please do not panic selling, hold your coins till you got profits ;) because this is something normal in the crypto world ;D

Same thing as when BCH was coming out everyone sold their alts in order to horde btc. Just wait it out or start buying some more altcoins and it'll readjust after.

i am not too surprise if altcoin in the red zone because bitcon price is increase again but i think not all altcoin is in red zone, we can see that there is other coins that is increase too. just wait for a while, i am sure that altcoin will be back normal after bitcoin reach stable price position or make a new high price.

Usually this is temporary only because price of BTC going up and altcoin that paired with BTC will dropped in price and the price of altcoin will return to normal again if the price of BTC decrease or stay normal. This case happen many times already.

Remember we are dealing with cryptocurrency. Its exciting but extremely volatile.

Its all about speculation at the moment. Bitcoin gold. Everyone is trying to convert their ALT coins into Bitcoin to get free Bitcoin gold.

A better strategy is to buy the ALT coins cheap.

But for real it wouldn't be always this way some traders take this as an opportunity to buy some alt-coin while the price is low.

Well explained! Everyone should learn that we don't control the movement of the market, it is not stable so we must not expect that it will always rise as we expected, but that is what we hope for to be everyday. But since price fluctuation is always congruent in digital cryptocurrencies, then it is a normal scenario that must be accepted every time it happens. It does not mean that we can conclude it as if it is a dying cryptocurrency, its just a scenario we must get use to upon entering crypto world.

As per bitcoin went to a higher price the altcoins turn out to be red. And bitcoin is more important for you to invest as many countries accept it as a method of payment.  But the altcoins only can be exchanged with bitcoin.

welcome to the dumping season ;)

the altcoin market is like this. it has always been. there is a happy period when everyone thinks to themselves that they are trading gods because whatever they buy gives them profit. this is what we call "pumping season". we have the best one this year where all of the altcoins were pumped.
this leads to big bubbles all around the market for all the altcoins that were pumped.

then starts the next phase, the "dumping season" when all these bubbles pop. it happened a couple of months ago but most altcoins kept their value up and struggled to keep it up but you can't do it forever.
a simple news like bitcoin rising up, some crap about its fork and free money (airdrop) can hasten the process of alts dumping.

This does tend to happen every now and then, it could have something to do with the upcoming fork where we will see bitcoin gold coming into play as there was a lot of 'free' money with the bitcoin cash fork so I expect people will be getting their bitcoin ready for the snapshot and hoping to make some cash.

I call it signals of altcoin market collapse because it is obvious that we just need bitcoin and few altcoins. If it is a crash caused by bitcoin fork , collapse is soon as well don't worry.

Title: Re: what happen to all altcoin?
Post by: leslie4u on October 09, 2017, 10:31:18 AM
I think the red is because of the upcoming fork and reminds me what happened few months back. Also the red is caused by some panic sale executed by weak hands. To be honest it is good that the alt coins are red, atleast for me...I can go and do some shopping now. After fork, all these will be pumped for sure. However there are some coins which are truly holding it's value.

Let just wait and see the dip and rise.

Happy Trading fellas

Looks like from your question that you are new in cryptocurerncy trading. This is regular, the alts had reached an ath during july and are cooling off now because of bitcoin fork news. If you have already bought alts, hold them till q1 2018 atleast, if not then this is a good time to buy some.

Well that is the smartest thing to do, to hold all you coins and wait for its pump in value. To make a lot of profits to your investments and all your time effort.

One of these people's fault is that, they are selling their coin once they've actually received it. That's wrong because they will never have the chance to get their coin to a more profitable state.

The easy way to make money is to buy after a dip in market prices.

Next, wait for the price to start moving up and then dump every thing.

as Long all the Coins Go down. alt coins and Bitcoin.
they are still in Ratio .. the only bigdeal is
they just change the Exchange in USD.
The proportion of the  coins is Okay, if all of the coin is affected in price drop.
and they will go price up a soon as possible ..
it always happen.

It is because of the rising of btc. GO and take profit at 5200 usd. And after that it might be the alternative coins turn in making itself grow after the growth of bitcoin. And with the growth of altcoins there could be the downfall of btc.

In my opinion, this is not surprising, if you are an experienced in the cryptocurrency market you will find it very normal. Altcoin is so, its value is constant fluctuations, there will be all the same decrease and also at the same increase. They may also be affected by the value of Bitcoin, but Bitcoin is slowly recovering.Bitcoin prepares the next hardfork, which may also be the reason they are falling, I think so. But do not be too anxious, maybe it will quickly recover and increase again :D

This is regularly happening for last few years as Bitcoin price rising Altcoins going down very badly and as its hold in bitcoins its time for altcoins to become in action currently bitcoin is going to touch new highs and most of peoples looking for good profit from this just because of this they are going down but they will rise again currently time for buying some solid coins

The reason why altcoins are in red because Bitcoin price is rising steadily now, therefore altcoins are weaker compared to Bitcoin.

Traders tend to cash out altcoins to buy bitcoin for receiving Bitcoin gold during the forks.

Take it as a chance to buy altcoins at a discount. The altcoins will recover, just hold.

most of the traders wanted to hold their precious btc for some free btc gold and as we knew alt coin will be affected because holders will sell
their alts hoping to have much bigger rewards from the btc gold fork, but for sure everything will be back to normal when btc reach its new ath
and rest for a while or make some corrections.

I'm holding both BTC and a bunch of altcoins.
There is so much conflicting information out there so I'm confused.

I understand the recovery of BTC after all the FUD and also about BTC Gold hardfork 10/25.
So far I expected altcoins to go down and decided to hold rather than do anything since I'm more or less a long term holder at least as defined in cryptoverse and don't want to risk trading in and out of BTC.
I don't care about BTC Gold.

My question is how about the segwit 2x in mid November? What do you guys expect to happen to alts then? We've never experienced two forks happening in such a short period of time
so if anyone has any opinions or speculations I appreciate it.

Cheers

BTC is moving up which usually indicates ALTS will correct to their respective USD value in BTC but these oversold markets are due to the upcoming hardfork. People are hoarding BTC to get as much BITGOLD and B2x as possible. I would be lying if I didnt say I was doing the same.

I don't know. I would say that everyone is selling their alcoins in order to buy more BTC, and then get more bitgold out of the fork that will happen in 22 days from now. A lot of people made some very good money with the fork from b-cash, so maybe they are hoping they can do it again. I'm not sure this is the reason, but I don't see any news that could affect alts or ICOs, so for me this is the best possible reason for what is happening.

It is very normal in times like this. There is a whole lot of dumping going which makes you to see the altcoin charts giving the slide pattern as people are opting for bitcoin pretty fast. Moreover, it even seems more interesting as the rate at which bitcoin is mooning is all indication that no one wants to miss the free coin BCC wants to offer. However, you just have to get use to it. Once the fork is over, this should correct itself.

This was always like this. Bitcoin and ethereum became the stable assets for market shifts. And staying in there is much more logical nowadays. But we didn't know this before the shift occur.

Exactly. Just after the hardfork alts should be pumped for sure.
No doubt about that as people will quickly want to buy back at dips and we will end up seeing the value of these coins shooting up pretty fast after the fork. Bitcoin on the other hand should have much push ups than we already have as so many will also be dumping their BCC for BTC.

Thinking of buying few alts anyway, once the dips are fully levelled as they huge comeback will be as good as having free coins as well for the altcoins.

I think until the end of October, people will stay in BTC, or eventually cash in FIAT, should BTC experience a major retracement.
Then, ALTs will gradually recover.
When BTC is down, ALTs are down, when BTC is up, everyone is buying it and ALTs are down. In my opinion, ALTs just need a period of low BTC volatility.

It is always necessary to take into account that the crypto currency has a very high volatility. Against the backdrop of the recent negative reports from China on the suspension of the ICO and the prohibition of crypto-exchange exchanges trading in Crypto currency, the rate of all digital currencies fell sharply. Now the crypto-currency market has practically stabilized, bitcoin is already trading at $ 4,800, and therefore soon you should expect a good growth in the price of other altcoys.

look like all crpytocurrency is dying except for btc

People are exchanging into BTC to get more Bitcoin Gold when fork takes place.
This is happening always in the market the red blood days. Altcoins low price when the btc price rises high, maybe one of the reason is the upcoming hard fork and yes possible for the preparation some to have bitcoin gold. Well lets observe the altcoins price it will recover eventually.

Bitcoin is the only one Blue Chip on the Crypto Market and this is how the market works, despite a lot of math there is almost no rationale on price movements beside the already told BTC forks.

Bitcoin fork is coming on 25th of October, thats why all altcoins are going red and everyone are investing in bitcoin at the moment. Just wait until november and everything would be fine.

It is common fact that people take interest in growing products. BTC is popular now seeks everyone their attention, altcoin holders convert their tokens into Bitcoins and that is why other altcoin now red. Don’t worry it is always like this, every altcoin will be back up after btc falls a bit down. So my advice is to hold your coins and do not get fooled by this crazy market.

Looking at it, would simply fall down to one. The hardfork for bitcoin is coming. Come oct 25th the.notion that all who has btc will have free money then everyone is selling their altcoins and buying btc. This is not nee. This has happened before in the previous fork.

Well its not that complicated you see, based on my observation if the demand and price of the altcoins increase then the bitcoin will definitely drop. But when the demand and the price the altcoins decrease then the bitcoin will definitely increase its value.

I try to invest in a certain project if it has the right amount of features that has the people wanting to get more usage of the coin. For instance, Ethereum is one of the coins that feature a smart contract.

We keefp getting important news. Like we got from Russia yesterday. It is normal for markets to get affected from big news. Especially there are lots of crypto users in Russia and China so they have a big affect on markets when they do something.

Finding the right time to invest in Bitcoin is one of the things that most traders on here have an issue with. I suggest that you make your purchase ASAP.

I think the altcoin market will not be so crazy as shown a few months ago, so maybe you should sell them if the price is 2 to 3 times of the ico price.

I'm definitely worried on WAVES, i have 15 waves and waiting for the trading to have a higher price but the price keeps dropping, should i wait more or should i dump it. This is really frustrating, Anyway i should be strong emotionally and capable on this kind of drops. I think i might wait until next year to watch what will happen to waves.

This is normal especially when the price of BTC rises, then altcoin is definitely down, some altcoin will return to normal if the price of BTC down again stay normal. In addition, the hardfork issue on 25 October also caused many investors to sell altcoin and buy BTC to get free money from chain split of Bitcoin called Bitcoin Gold.

The majority of people strive for profit, so they are not so interested in supporting altcoins. they would rather buy btc instead

pump and dumps and getting ready for the fork would be my guess.
You're right, that fork that might happen is going to cause a bunch of the altcoins to have different dramatic price changes.

All right, just most people bought bitcoin before the hard fork in order to get more bitcoin gold. After a hard fork again, altcoins will begin to grow and bitcoin will start to fall.
