Gonna take a stab and say this is why: https://bravenewcoin.com/news/bitcoin-gold-a-friendly-dividend-fork-or-bitcoins-disaster-recovery-plan/

The last fork that happened in July or August caused same problems for altcoin market. This seems like it is the standard when forks happen.

Toinks! LOL!  Grin Grin Is this your first time trading or monitoring the charts? Have you been out of cryptocurrencies lately? This is very normal as for me. Do not expect that the altcoins will always be happy days and profit-earning. There will be downs along the way. Price fluctuation is after all very normal in crypto. It does not mean dying. It means, it is much alive.

It's just a little bit of a correction. With the average volatility of altcoins this level of price movement is normal.

It's just a matter of course. The number of Altcoins that fell in price, indicating that there is good news and bad news. And this signifies we need to buy at this time.

The btc dominance rating is already more than 50% now. Ofcourse it's all about the upcoming BTC hardfork where aeverybody will get free bitcoin gold and/or some another hardfork coin.

it is a common thing to happen
when the BTC price goes up, altcoin will goes down. as many people sell altcoin with the intention to profit in bitcoin
So do not worry, if you still hold altcoin please do not panic selling, hold your coins till you got profits Wink because this is something normal in the crypto world Grin

Same thing as when BCH was coming out everyone sold their alts in order to horde btc. Just wait it out or start buying some more altcoins and it'll readjust after.

i am not too surprise if altcoin in the red zone because bitcon price is increase again but i think not all altcoin is in red zone, we can see that there is other coins that is increase too. just wait for a while, i am sure that altcoin will be back normal after bitcoin reach stable price position or make a new high price.

Exactly. Just after the hardfork alts should be pumped for sure.

Usually this is temporary only because price of BTC going up and altcoin that paired with BTC will dropped in price and the price of altcoin will return to normal again if the price of BTC decrease or stay normal. This case happen many times already.

Remember we are dealing with cryptocurrency. Its exciting but extremely volatile.

Its all about speculation at the moment. Bitcoin gold. Everyone is trying to convert their ALT coins into Bitcoin to get free Bitcoin gold.

A better strategy is to buy the ALT coins cheap.

I think you are new in cryptocurrency you should get used to this,
But for real it wouldn't be always this way some traders take this as an opportunity to buy some alt-coin while the price is low.

Well explained! Everyone should learn that we don't control the movement of the market, it is not stable so we must not expect that it will always rise as we expected, but that is what we hope for to be everyday. But since price fluctuation is always congruent in digital cryptocurrencies, then it is a normal scenario that must be accepted every time it happens. It does not mean that we can conclude it as if it is a dying cryptocurrency, its just a scenario we must get use to upon entering crypto world.

As per bitcoin went to a higher price the altcoins turn out to be red. And bitcoin is more important for you to invest as many countries accept it as a method of payment.  But the altcoins only can be exchanged with bitcoin.

welcome to the dumping season Wink

the altcoin market is like this. it has always been. there is a happy period when everyone thinks to themselves that they are trading gods because whatever they buy gives them profit. this is what we call "pumping season". we have the best one this year where all of the altcoins were pumped.
this leads to big bubbles all around the market for all the altcoins that were pumped.

then starts the next phase, the "dumping season" when all these bubbles pop. it happened a couple of months ago but most altcoins kept their value up and struggled to keep it up but you can't do it forever.
a simple news like bitcoin rising up, some crap about its fork and free money (airdrop) can hasten the process of alts dumping.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

BTC is definitely not going away ever. Many others will fall away in five years.
