Title: Hiddenoreo Trade
Post by: ScottJD on June 04, 2013, 04:53:15 PM
Currently trading with Hiddenoreo...

Bitcoin sent 17:32pm by ScottJD to Hiddenoreo.

Hiddenoreo confirmed receipt of Bitcoin at 17:38.

Funds have not reached my account and he has now gone offline.

I am afraid I have been scammed...

I will notify if anything changes but at the moment do not trade with this guy. I'm giving him another 15 minutes before I report

That's what I thought I saw your conversation with him and thought he was ok...

That's it - the last time I trade on here. some people.

How do I ensure everyone knows he is a scammer?

I know I think he's got a bit of a gambling problem. Only 1 BTC but still it's annoying - I was just getting into using BitCoin and this happens. I think I'm going to cash out - This BitCoin mullarkey really attracts some scum.

Ha Ha - I've only gone an found his address and full name... I feel like a detective.

He tried to sell 2 web addresses previously, so I did a tracker on those address and he had unsecured details on one. Which resulted in them showing his full name and address...

Can I post this on here publicly?

OP is full of shit.

I can show any reputable member my bank transaction over team viewer, along with his PMs to me to confirm I sent to the the account he told me to.

And no. He doesnt have my full name and address. He just sent me a PM saying "I logged your IP from your forum post".

1. YOU induvidually cant do that.
2. I didnt scam you.
3. Check your bank account.

Ok then.

I can either show you my online banking, or you CAN CHECK YOUR BANK ACCOUNT

Also just as a note "Faster Payments" is not always faster.
It can take up to 2 hours with some banks (HSBC, First Direct usually take the full 2 hours) to clear and Santander can take up to 16 hours or the next working day, amongst others.
Especially if it is after the cut off at 5pm... so I wouldnt be too quick to call scammer yet 2 hours havent even passed yet.
I have first hand experience both sending and receiving with bank transfers being delayed up to the end of the next working day.

Sounds good to me. I think its fair that the btc should be put in escrow, i am happy to foot the bill.

I can provide screenshots of my bank to prove it has not hit it. He has since private messaged me saying that because I have been childish he will not show me a screenshot of the bank transaction. He will only show and admin.

Are there any admins online?

Ok, he has sent a screenshot of the payment.

I may have to eat my words and pay him some compensation if it does come through.

Hiddenoreo - In the mean time as a sign of good faith I would escrow "after the fact" the coins at no cost except transaction fees if you are willing, until one of you proves that the transaction did or did not happen.
In future yes. You can see it yourself that any deal I do in the future is done with escrow by you.
But i dont deal with little kids anymore like OP:
"I have logged your IP with your forum post, I hope you didnt post your address online"
And, when I know as a fact my information is not out there, the next thing he says is:
"I got all of your info, return the 1 btc or I will continue".

Continue what?....OP doesnt have my address or name to begin with.

It wasnt a fast payment, it was a regular bill payment.

I know as a fact I sent the money, I dont need you to confirm that.

I did show you a screenshot, when I told you i wasnt going to send it, straight after that i sent a screenshot, just to prove i didnt scam you.

If its not there by tommorow, notify your bank, or message me and ill notify mine, just to make sure everything went through ok.

Although, i sent the payment 45 minutes ago, why is it still not showing?

As I said, some banks take longer to clear than others.
HSBC/First Direct usually around 2 hours, Santander anywhere between 2 hours to the next working day.
They are the 3 "worst" for being slow... most others are instant or under 2 hours.

Then it will most likely clear overnight.
So there.. mystery solved.
I also have a Santander account, which I rarely use now because they are really rubbish and not very helpful at all.
I personally have had payments delayed until the next working day (somtimes up to 3 days later if I sent on a Friday night and there is a bank holiday Monday)... made me look not very good and also got accused of being a scammer... which is why I got a different bank account and now very rarely use it at all.

Just google "santander payments slow to clear" you will find plenty of complaints.

Depends on the time of day, bet it was before 4pm? Either that or have you sent more than this transfer today either will have probably caused the delay.
Santander pick and choose which payments go through instantly anything over £300 is almost guaranteed to be delayed (this also counts if you sent one payment before of £150 and trying to send £200, the second payment will be delayed) or if it is after 4pm it is usually delayed and cleared overnight also.

Ok so assuming this cash was sent went hiddenoreo said it was sent 3.30pm yesterday. It was sent via faster payment. The cash still has not appeared in my account over night... Projects you mentioned the latest this usually takes is overnight.

Santander normally clear overnight.
If it isnt in by 11am then there definately is something wrong, I would give it a couple more hours personally, I have had payments clear between 9-11 if they do not clear overnight, but never any later.

i feel bad for grabbing my pitchfork

unless he took the time to forge that screen shot, he likely is paying for the shittiness of his bank.

There is a small chance he has NOT sent it FPS. Santander are a bit shit with that.

If it didn't go FPS it'll take 2-3 WORKING DAYS for you to get it.

I'll feel bad once the money arrives. Until then he has the goods and I am out of pocket.

Here is the screenshot:
https://i.imgur.com/A7zOVUm.jpg

It indicates that it has been sent via faster payment, which should not take almost 24 hours. It doesn't look like a forged screenshot.

Payments to new payees are sometimes (seemingly randomly) held for up to 16 hours for security checks.  That time has passed.  Time to call your bank and see what's up.

Mandate No.1 seems strange.

That would suggest you are the first person he has ever paid...

you're main issue here, imho, is greed.

Most people who get scammed seem to be people paying well over spot for coins.

Title: Re: Hiddenoreo Trade

Yep few things dont add up.
As I said earlier Santander do hold payments for up to 16 hours for security checks, even if it is sent Faster Payments, the next day the faster payment will be rejected and resent and cleared instantly.
If the bank had held the payment for fraud it would not show on the statement so it should be processing.
Mandate 1 is also very strange, he has no other payees on his account?
Also price is well over spot.. I dont want to rub it in but I did say you would be better selling to me for -10% under spot than selling to someone and getting scammed.
You would have got £15 less than what Oreo claims to have sent, but at least you would have had it instead of how you are looking now at a loss.
Things are not looking good at the moment sorry to say.
(All this is first hand experience with Santander)

Sorry to hear that, Bitcoin is great its just there are a lot of scumbags around here.
If you do decide to cash out please please either contact me or someone reputatable or use Escrow for your remaining coins.
I would be happy to buy from you and can guarantee you would get the money.

agreed, we need to tighten up around here imo and make it safer for newer people and have more precautions in place. if even 1/100 get screwed because of bitcoin, that dissent will spread. when everything goes right people don't say anything, but when something goes wrong..

Just to confirm that the cash still has not gone in. Can we now confirm him as a scammer. It's been almost 26 hours since the cash was "sent".
