Right now, Genesis isn’t a full-time project. That’s because unfortunately, bills need to be paid and that means that for now at least, we have other jobs to help pay for our monthly expenses.

Dev, how are you going to stop cheaters signing up with usernames that aren't theirs to circumvent the account age rule?

Good question, seen it happen so many times.My details have been cloned in airdrops before and it is not nice to be kicked out of an airdrop because of some greedy twat trying to get multiple drops.

With regards to this, we think we've come up with a pretty good solution but I won't disclose it here as then it could potentially be worked around. We are checking every single application manually as well

Right now we have had over 360 applications, therefore it takes some time to add the approved addresses to the spreadsheet. So long as you're in the first 650 and are genuine, you'll be added to the spreadsheet and will receive your tokens in due course :)

While it's unlike you'll be able to stop everyone 100% of the time, we're confident that we should be able to stop it happening on mass and therefore limiting the impact.

As for the bounty, there's a pool 2.5m Genesis Coins for Bounties and that will be in operation well into next year. So there's no chance of that running out anytime soon ;)

As for the Mercantox listing, it's possible to pay a fee to get listed rather than going through votes. That option is there if someone went ahead and paid that fee. We've got a few exchanges lined up to try and get on which don't involve paying a fee but more on that shortly.

I like the responses of the dev thus far.   As I have said in the past - with these projects, it really just takes some good folks that want longer term success for the project.   None of these need to be 10 dollar coins,  but it isn't unrealistic to expect some of these to be in the dollar range with a few months of work and a good community behind it.   

I read throught the thread and by the looks of it it seems to be a good project, even though we don't know much about the futuristic tech plans the dev is active on here. I like the name because it refers to the Genesis block??

We're limiting it to one person in total. So if you're in the first airdrop, you can't apply for the 2nd, 3rd or 4th one. There are lots of other ways to earn Genesis Coins though through the Bounty program! As for exchanging, we're on Etherdelta and will be added to more shortly.

No, don't fill the form again.  It seems that the approved participant spreadsheet is not automatically filled from your application.  What i think is happening is the submitted form fills one spreadsheet which only dev can see, dev can then do some checks.  Once an applicant is approved then dev can put their address on the list of those who will receive the drop.

This might be a slow process but it is a great process to get rid of scammers and multi account folks.  We just have to be patient with dev here to do due diligence.  Doing multiple applications will just make the work all the more difficult for dev and it will take longer time for dev to assess applications.

Thanks for your question. The purpose of Genesis Coin primarily is to build a solid and active community on an ERC20 token that is run by a professional and transparent team. In the future, we will begin development on dApps which will use Genesis as a fuel. We have talked about this a little in our documentation but we're taking it one step at a time right now.

Right now Genesis Coin is very secure and fast, two of the most important values for any coin. Of course, this applies to any ERC20 token but that's why we opted for the Ethereum platform. After distribution, we will make some announcements that will Genesis Coin a more real life use as well.

We've had over 3500 people apply and only 625 were eligible for the first round so therefore we ended it now. We're looking into each application and then adding to the spreadsheet so it may be some time before it's the finalised list.

It's a first come first serve basis. So even though we had 3500+ applications, the first 625 will be the ones who get in. We're weeding out scammers right now so that's the first 625 legit people, to the best of our ability!

We will consider it. There's pros and cons to both sides of it but ultimately we want as many legit applications as possible while giving a fair chance to everyone to get in. We'll make an announcement soon about what will happen.

Firstly, we believe strongly in building a community. For us, that's key to the survival and uptake of any coin. Once the distribution process is finished we will push this heavily. We will also begin a marketing campaign to spread awareness of the coin in the hope of gaining some more interest.

We're also working hard on getting added to some exchanges and we're sure the community will be able to help with this as well.

Moving further into the future, the key will be showing a commitment to the coin from our side which helps to build trust and positive around the project. We've then got to build on that and give Genesis more of a defined use as let's face it, there's hundreds of other ERC20 tokens out there. We have to stand out from the crowd. 2018 will be when we really start to see some progress on that front.

We're taking things steady and don't want to bite off more than we can chew too soon. Right now we're focusing on getting Genesis Coins into the hands of the community.

I highly doubt that all those accounts are legit. It would be better to have another round so that it could attract more "new" people.

In the spreadsheet, every address you see will be receiving an airdrop. However if by the side it is green with a Y it means the coins have been sent. If its red with a N, it means they have not been sent yet but will be.

Spreadsheet will continiously be updated and will be finished in the next few hours. If you're not on the spreadsheet when it is completed, it means you weren't within the first 625 people. However there's bounties you can claim as well as joining the future airdrops :)

Just a quick update for everyone.

We've added around 450 addresses to the spreadsheet of approved applications. However verification of the rest of the applications is taking longer than expected, especially as Bitcointalk is a bit all over the place at the moment.

Therefore we're going to focus on sending the airdrops to the addresses in the spreadsheet for the next few hours until we can get back to verifying applicants.

So while the spreadsheet only has about 450 addresses, this airdrop is for 625 in total. If you were within the first legit 625 people, your address will get added at some point :)

At the moment we're leaning towards only being able to receive coins from one airdrop to prevent people getting coins from every drop. However with the bounties and regular giveaways we're planning, there's lots of chances to gain additional Genesis Coins. Plus the trading like you said. What's your thoughts on it?

The other airdrops will begin soon though plus there's lots of ways you can obtain Genesis Coins in the meantime such as through giveaways, bounties and trading for them.

I suggest to do an airdrop on Telegram. Get people to join Telegram and give out smaller amounts to make sure not to dissapoint people and to weed out multiple applications by the same person

Was your address on the spreadsheet? If not then you just missed out. If it was, the coins have already been sent.

Where are the signatures codes nothing on OP and the reward amount is fixed for noob to legendary account. You should make the interesting plan to attract the people to wear these signatures to promote this promote this project.

The 4000 GEN was for the airdrop however there were only 625 places. If you received 400 GEN, that means you claimed a bounty that has been paid to you. There will be more places in the next airdrop though that starts on October 31 :)

To both the posts above, there were only 625 places available to receive an airdrop and it was on a first come, first serve basis. Unfortunately if you're not in the list it means you just missed out in being in that first 625. You were essentially a tad too late.

However there are more airdrops planned with the next one being on October 31. It will have more places which means that more people will get in as a result. The time will be announced beforehand and the form will open again for applications at that time.

I applied for the first airdrop and apparently was not one of the 625 to receive tokens.  According to the rules, i'm not eligible to take part in the subsequent airdrops.  Is that really what the rule is supposed to read?

No, that is not the rule.  Only those who were successful in the first phase are not eligible to take part in the remaining phases.  As you didn't get the drop in the first airdrop phase, you will be able to apply in the second phase.  I am 100% sure of this.  I am not Dev but i work with dev as Moderator.

People you all need to beware of their tricks. They ask people to join the airdrop whilst they are actually themselves selling these airdrops!

All kinds of amazing purposes are shared. Nothing is ever done! The dev wants to profit from gullible and easily fooled buyers.

A lot of people have lost their money when investing. People who buy up a lot get dumped by the developers.

Is it a surprise that you are both 'Newbies'?  Set up a new account just to spread your FUD.  Everything about this project is transparent.  You can look it up for yourself.  Take your FUD elsewhere.

The simplest rule is requiring your audience to set their address in their BitcoinTalk profile. Then ask them to sign up with their BitcoinTalk ID. Additionally you could exclude Newbie accounts or accounts created before a specific date.

Yep I won't even link to their thread but I'm sure you can find. Basically copy and pasted our features list and other content and just replaced Genesis with their name. It's not even subtle!

Dude where's your proof? Study every transaction sent from the very start and you won't be able to back up those claims. Every single payment sent has been a either an airdrop or bounty payments which pretty every coin here offers. They're given for FREE by the way.

I think that you have to broaden your whitepaper before going to some big exchange. Right now it's to vague - people who like to know what they are buying wouldn't be impressed.

I think you are absolutely right about you first point.  I believe that this is something Dev is aware of and has plans to broaden.  The present phase is primarily free airdrop (NO ICO) and awareness.  I think it is also fair to be careful when you have these 'copy cat' deceitful project around ready to copy genuine projects like GENESIS.

The project is primarily running Free airdrop distribution model, at zero cost to participants therefore there isn't any issue with trust.  Obviously it is entirely up to you to make up your mind and draw your own conclusions.   I believe that Dev is genuine and working hard to ensure that there is full transparency in the way the project is being run.

The 16 million cap will certainly affect the price of this project. With that limited supply, i assure you that the demand for Genesis coin will be UP trend.

Roadmap should be updated and adjusted depending on the feedbacks of the community, not to lose the momentum. And also, as early as now try contacting big exchange sites because it might take few days or weeks before they'l list the coin on their system

The key phrase there is "big promises". You'll see that is something I have never made.

This is a community project where the community will be heavily involved in the direction of Genesis. Right now we are focusing on distributing the coins that will take until November.

After that, we will release some more information and hopefully our aim will become clearer. We want to prove that an ERC20 token can be successful and legit without needing to promise the world, use another coins name or outright lie and deceive. We've done none of those things.

I accept the if your looking for the next innovating cryptocurrency that's going to change the world, this is not it. Just like how pretty much every token advertised here isn't, despite their claims. I hope people can see that we are trying to be realistic, taking our time and putting the community first.

Our short term goal after the airdrop is development of a voting app which will allow anyone with GEN to vote on important matters. A vote will cost a small amount of GEN to ensure only GEN holders vote.

We will release more details about our next step soon but there's a web wallet planned as well as looking into building an exchange of sorts for Genesis. There will be more but we're taking it one step at a time and hopefully when you see the progress you'll see this is a legit project. I think that's the best way rather than laying all "potential cards" on the table, promising the world, over hyping and ultimately failing.

Sometimes you need to trust a project without having to have a "big payout promise".
A lot of companies have been built on the trust of people that believed in them.
So.. I'm not saying you need to trust all of them in cryptoworld, but there are trust worthy projects running that will make it and won't scam people.
I believe this one is one of them.. so, build trust, help supporting it, and make it grow.

everyone writing such thing in a whitepaper shows lack of experience in the industry. The dev just a 22 year old kid with another kid who could not even build a mobile friendly site. And saying that your not in it for the money shows that this is gonna be a hobby project to you.

Firstly it's not a whitepaper, it's documentation. A whitepaper would be far more technical and in detail. If a "whitepaper" is five pages long it's not a whitepaper.

Is there anything wrong with a hobby project? I've put way more hours into this than my actual job that pays the bills and if I'm not in it for the money then surely that shows my commitment. There's a lot of big coins that don't have a full time development team and do it when they can, Vertcoin is one example. Now I am no way comparing this to them but there's nothing wrong with it, if it's done right, progress is made and there's a true commitment to the project.

Like I've said a thousand times, the decision to take part in any project is an individual one. If someone doesn't believe in this project or think it's a false flag then don't take part. It's a free airdrop afterall.

If Coinomi has support for ERC20 tokens then it should support Genesis. You'll probably have to add it as a token in a similar way to other wallets. It's just not a wallet we have used so that's why it isn't listed.

The web wallet will be for Genesis Tokens. I can't comment if it will support other tokens and Eth in the future but so far it is planned just for Genesis.

On the contrary, Dev is very active.  Just that he's away for a couple of days but back tomorrow. 

I've actually responded to nearly every question if no one else has answered before me and I've replied to most posts that have need it still. I'm not going to waste time replying to posts saying I'm not very active when they haven't taken the time to even read the last page or two of posts.

Absolutely true... dev has been the most active dev i have seen for a long time on any project. the token is trading well on etherdelta and the project looks promising. the community is getting stronger and i know a lot of  the  guys who have joined in on the airdrop want this coin to be a success. dev is actively on telegram answering questions and getting involved.  the community is fully behind him

He hasn't develop anything. Just gives out airdrop like every other scamcoin.

List of things to be cautious of.

- Expecting us airdroppers to fall for his scheme. Ohw yeah free tokens?? That doesn't mean it is a legit project?
- People who buy this tokens will be scammed in about a few weeks after the airdrop, just like those people from Ethereum Dark and EBTC and others...
- Expect us to be dumb enough to fall for this and buy tokens, when he will dump on you and me.
- Wasting our time being busy with nothing really. We could be learning new stuff about how to earn money in a proper way.

So better not to get anything if you plan to dump it all for a few cents.
