Title: Proof of Foolishness
Post by: VanceCrypto on October 24, 2017, 09:19:52 AM
About 18 months ago, I took all of my saving to invest in Bitcoin.

I did that without telling my wife. She was so angry and said how foolish I was.

Yesterday, I show her my BTC wallet and the current price of Bitcoin...  ;D ;D ;D

"Honey, please look at my Proof of Foolishness" I told her. "and I will foolishly continue holding these BTC untill the price reach 500,000 USD. I wish by then I will once again show you how foolish I am"

Wow, this is a nice foolish story of yours and congrats to your foolish 6 times profit.  Do you mind sharing your wife reaction after she saw your foolish BTC wallet?

Joke aside, you were brave to invest all your savings in BTC. When BTC reach $500,000, you will have a good and easy retirement. All the best to you.

Wow.

If you are serious, then it would be a good idea to sell enough bitcoins to cover your initial investment. Just to keep your wife happy and the relationship working even if something unexpected would happen to bitcoin value.
Other vice you will be hearing about your "foolishness" for the rest of your life...

You are a brave man with lots of luck :)

I wish I was that foolish 2 years ago  ;)
I just hope that it will continue to grow the same way like it happened in a recent two years!

That’s extremely a good story to tell. Since my wife know bitcoin then this won’t give no effect to her. I will make my own story that as much entertaining and profitable at the end. I will post that in due time but for now, I will make a screenshot of this one and show to my wife afterwards. Thanks for sharing ideas.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D Proof of foolishness and if thats what your wife thought she should wait until you buy her that foolish house and car. Am optimistic BTC will hit $500,000.00 someday so just hold on tight.

If I may give you an advice.
Nobody knows the future, so you should at least cash out the amout that you initialy put. In that case, even if there is an issue with BTC, or a big crash, you would have at least loose 0$.

Anyway, compared to what you earned, it's not a risk at all to just cash out what you put at the begining.

Have a nice day :)

A proud and successful husband and I feel it dude ;) . How happy of foolishness you have sir, but sometimes you need to be humble and keeping the positive works. Hoping I will be the next you Sir, lol. I think, its possible to reach BTC on that amount but it takes a long long way run after all.

I took all of my saving to invest in Bitcoin.

if you ask me, that was a foolish move. it really doesn't matter if now you are in a huge profit. what matters is that you took a very big risk, the risk that nobody should take like this. what if price went down?

hell, lets just forget about the price. what if you lost your wallet? your private keys in a fire or some other disaster? that was "all your savings" gone.

If this is true then it was a very risky move and some would say a very stupid move and taking half would have been more sensible.

Glad it paid off but please take out your initial investment at least, this reminds me of an article I read where this family sold their house and everything even the kids toys and are living in a tent putting it all into bitcoin, crazy.

This story is very interesting, I want to feel the stupidity you have, the arrogant husband who boasts of his stupidity, I think is a positive stupidity. stay humble and work positively. Because to achieve the desired value takes a long time. Do not forget to buy his wife's house yes. Let your story be a motivation.

Maybe its a foolish thing to trust too much in Bitcoin ,crypto currency or digital currency that is what other think who does not know about Bitcoin they think that why do you invest or turn your money into a Bitcoin if you can save it in Banks well they think that your money will not grow because they think it was a scamming. But its a foolish thing if you are not trying the Bitcoin  and just judging the Bitcoin.

I can relate to your story but unlike you I did not purchased btc  years ago to avoid quarrel between me and my wife. And today I was desperate to earn 1 bitcoin and I regret not buying bitcoin. If I did I am already a millionaire today but anyway it is not yet the end of the world I can still continue to save bitcoin and enjoy the profit later on.

I did the same thing, I am a graphic designer who accept design payments via crypto. My wife was so mad of me few months ago because I refuse to accept payments via paypal. So I thought her the potential of BTC. Now both of us are trading BTC.

I think this is in any case a risky move, but which at this moment certainly paid off. What would be wise to do and someone has already advice you,at least cash out your initial investment so you will have your money and BTC to wait your expected price.

Compared to the family who sold the house and everything else and invest all in BTC this is a little less drastic example, but I agree that this was still gambling. What is the risk here we are talking about it is unknown to us because we do not know amount OP is invest.

It goes to show that not all of us here had a decent amount of salary in our current job if we had we will have have known bitcoin at all and will not get interested in this kind of investment scheme earning, and I think there are many here that not have a savings just like OP has that is why we don't have guts in giving a go with all of our money with bitcoin yet.

this is called taking a big risk. i just hope you had a back up plan when you did this investment. because this type of risk taking is like a double edge sword. it can cut both ways. you may become rich or you may become poor. that is why this type of risk taking doesn't have that many interested in it.

my suggestion is that you take some thing out now. 18 months ago price was $800-$900 and in order to take out your initial investment with profit you only have to sell nearly 15% of your investment. for example you can sell 2.25BTC out of 15BTC! you can sell 3 to even have profit out too. and that is $17000

Only, people who don't know the potential of bitcoin would think that it would be a foolish act to invest in bitcoins. But unfortunately, majority of people in the world are still foolish.

But nowadays, this situation has started to change slowly. Now,more people have started to buy bitcoin as a huge return giving asset.Bitcoin's price was just $650 an year ago and now its price is $5,665.No body could expect such a return from any other asset or stock.

But still, some people like jamie dimon are trying to make people fool by terming bitcoin as a fraud and its very unfortunate that even their tweets cause a fall in bitcoin price.

Here this happened also with me , Because in the starting when I bought bitcoin then its price was about 330$/btc which was really a small amount in my opinion but after that I leaved the bitcoin about 0.1 btc Because I thought that I made mistake of buy bitcoin and now I can't sell Because if I will sell then surely the trader will buy at low price and also I will be charged for the transaction fee ( since was the small fee but still I was looking at every point of loss everytime ) .
But after 6 month I come back in the bitcoin but just forget my wallet but  when two months ago when I comes to know that I have a wallet that have few fraction of bitcoin then I recovered and found that what I left and what I got today .
So here it gives us a lesson that what should we have with the bitcoin as our wish and what we can done if we can make investment again.

Unfortunately, only a small percentage of the many "foolish" decisions all of us can be making in this life will turn to be as great as your story. It is just fortunate that when you feel the need to be a fool you used Bitcoin as the object of that decision. And what a big WOW it turned out to be.

Reading your story, I concluded that you are one of the few people in this world that got into a very lucky streak with Bitcoin. Again, not all people are awarded such a magnificent bounty. Yes. That was true, I agree with you 100%, friend.

The only thing I didn't tell in my story is, I heard about Bitcoin in 2012. I did rejected it once, when the price still in very early stage.

I have spend nearly one week to research and study everything that I could find about Bitcoin before I make my purchase.

And yes, I did sell some of my BTC 6 months later to have all of my investment back, plus some cool and nice stuffs for my wife.

I watched the news man sold all his possessions, even the house and invested the money in bitcoins. That is the case. Everyone thinks that bitcoin will rise in price always but I think this is a big mistake. In the pursuit of money, people lose and you can stay and live on the street. It seems to me that all you need to know the measure. If you have to have income to return the money invested and continue to earn income.

Yeah, I think you need to get back first your capital or first investment. We are not sure what happen in the future or even what goes in your life in next 10 seconds. Don't commit too much risky decision, and just realize its too late dude. There is always a chance of unfortunate consequences by engaging in a risky moves. So don't be hasty specially on BTC industry.

Very good points; to invest all you have into anything, really, but especially something as volatile and comparatively risky as Bitcion is just not a wise move, but congratulations to the OP, and I'm sure there are many, many instances of such great outcomes.

I know a lot of "foolish husbands" can relate to this story. ha ha ha! Actually, the same happened to me when I purchased 3 bitcoins back in February and March of this year, when the price was roughly at $800. My wife didn't talk to me for a while because of what I've done, but now she became as sweet as a ripe mango. Man, I haven't gained as huge as this in the stock market... no regrets in migrating my money to bitcoins.

Haha good work bro, be careful being 100% in bitcoin though. The price is so much higher than 18 months ago so you’ve made great profits. Maybe take out what you originally invested so everything from now on is free money for you.

Your foolishness is interesting. I may ask how to that? For its not foolish is method you did. Perhaps if you have deep understanding with bitcoins you will appreciate how it works.. there no need to elaborte i believe its a brilliant idea;)
