In this year January btc price was $800 — $1,150 and now it is around $7100.Can we imagine it will increase like this year?

This year has clearly been the best year for Bitcoin in terms of ultimate price. I don't know if Bitcoin can keep up with how much it's gained this past year. With that in mind, however, I don't doubt the ability of it to go up to around 15k (doubling what it was this year) by the end of the year next year. I'm just hoping we see more steady rise rather than volatility.

we can never know because a lot of unexpected things can happen in the future that have the potential of changing the course of price rise a lot. for example this year we had the Japanese mass adoption which started early on this year, we had the end of bitcoin scaling debate or at least end of most of the debate. and these two were huge unexpected changes that led to huge unexpected rises.

so the future rise may not be like this year but there will be more rise in 2018.

We cannot just say that kind of things, the future of Bitcoin is uncertain especially on it's volatile price, after the hard fork a lot of Bitcoin holder might sell Bitcoin for some reasons and those reasons are first: the Holidays-Christmas to be exact, Second is the possible rise of Alt coins and the current  issues on Segwit 2X.

We never may never know exactly what the price of bitcoin will vary on the 2018 one thing is for certain that bitcoin that bitcoin price continue to gradually increase by the month imagine being a price of 7,000 US dollars and up in this month. Maybe we can expect the price to be 8,000 by the start of year we just have to sit back and watch the growth of bitcoin in the industry.

I don't think so but people are hyping about the bitcoin futures trade. They are all not knowing what they are talking about. The wallstreet was full with a lot of the high profiles with unlimited money.
We will see about what will be happening in the future. this time a lot of people are knowing about that was a very good step to the bitcoin to be the mainstream speculation trade. and not a massive payment adoption.

No one knows what's going to happen to bitcoin and so predictable price predictions,
but we can only hope to continue rising bitcoin and accompanied by rising prices and popularity,and i think it's quite realistic if bitcoin prices will reach $ 8000 - $ 9,000 by 2018.

I think this bubble will end before the end of this year or at much the first half of 2018. Resulting in a long lasting bear market. But before that there will be some more bull runsans and price will touch 10K or even 20K.
My crystal ball said it.

I will not give specific predictions. Bitcoin has had a growth spurt. As the demand of customers for digital money market growing then the Bitcoin price will continue to rise in the  future

From all the past experience in the bitcointalk the price of bitcoin at the end of 2018 will be $9000 approx because nows a day demand of bitcoin is raise very much every people take interest in the bitcoin to earn the lot of money and invest the money in bitcoin to gain more and more profit which help them to become a rich person in the world. The price of bitcoin is increases very rapidly at their demand and reaches $7000 approx at the end of 2017 and $9000 approx at the end of 2018 .

Price can be any. Officials announced that the richest people kept offshore for more than 8 trillion dollars. This amount will be enough to make everyone on earth received $ 1,000. Recently this method of storing money becomes unreliable. If they choose bitcoin the price can be really cosmic.

We can keep on speculating anytime we want, but I think a small percentage here would really get it right, but I think many are expecting a good speculation every time they go here, I am seeing this yearly and I really think the value of bitcoin this end of 2018 would be in the middle of $7600 to $7900 if we are lucky enough a value of $9500 is a great All Time High for now, bitcoin had reach an unexpected fluctuation towards this year and we can really see it After the Fork.

In 2017 year lot of good and bad things happened, like japan accepting bitcoin and legalizing it same way other country also started it. two hardfork happened and still one is pending, this has drived the bitcoin price up and one bad news of china banning ICO and stopped the exchange to regulate it. Same way if it happen in 2018 then the price can go more then enough which cannot be imaginable. I expect the price of bitcoin to go above 15000+ in 2018

Well that's really big to yhink that from below a value of thousand it will increase to thousands in less than a year. It is now prices at 7400$ which is way far from its price before. Also, the price is coninuously increasing i am expecting that earlier in 2018 bitcoin will have a value of more than 10000$.

I really and truly did not expect this year to end up like this. I have no expectations for next year. If it goes sideways it'll still be amazing.

Even if there aren't price fireworks, adoption and infrastructure is only going to continue in one direction.

Another factor is assuming 2X is a damp squib what's the next thing whales can scare the market with? They're starting to run low on ammunition.

I think that next year will not be the easiest to bitcoins. If in November all goes well we will see in the early years of the war miners and developers. I am sure that situation will take advantage of the whales and will certainly try to undermine the situation on the market. This may reduce the inflow of capital into bitcoin and in the beginning of the year we will see a decline in prices. Stable growth will start only in March.

No one honestly knows for sure and we can just keep staying optimistic and hoping for the best. So many of us are expecting a lot of news in upcoming years or before the end of this year from Goldman Sachs, amazon and the rest which we all know would pretty much cause a huge surge in the price, but we just have to wait for the period to come first before we raise our hopes too high. Regarding segwit2x, we do not know how that would play out, but I do not really see it becoming a big issue as no user is really ready to support a coin that brings an attack on decentralization.

Sure.We could expect such huge price increase this year also.This year,there would be no influence of china on bitcoin price.Also,CME has entered bitcoin market by announcing that it would release bitcoin futures which has triggered the market.More countries could be expected to legalize bitcoin the following year.Also,it is said that amazon would soon announce that it would accept bitcoin payment.In short,we could even say that 2018 would be the year of bitcoin.

I think there will be very big correction just after this fork but my speculation can go wrong if there are lots of other hidden reasons behind this year long big pump. If there are really big whales playing with bitcoin's price right now than we are here for huge roller coaster ride.

I almost 7x in just a period of a year is too good to believe, this growth might not be the stable one.

nobody will know how the development of bitcoin prices in 2018, I myself still do a little research with this. but all I get is a reprimand from another. I myself believe 2018 will be a very good year also for bitcoin, I estimate it will reach more than $ 10k. I am not so sure with the corrections after the hard fork.

Everyone will agree this is so far the best year of bitcoin the value has greatly affects the demand bitcoin has today it is because only this digital currency gives so much opportunity to a lot of people. We are heading to 2018 and I know many are hoping that if ever the price of bitcoin don't go higher than this year atleast it stay to this range atleast.

I can't believe bitcoin price was $800 in january and now its $7,000 looks like bitcoin is very popular now then december maybe it will $10,000 so in the next year maybe it will $30,000 because maybe some countries are legalizing bitcoin.

No one has perceived that Bitcoin will surprise us with its tremendous increase in its price within just a year. Everyone was surprised when Bitcoin suddenly jumped to 2000 then continuously increased in value. The demand for Bitcoin began to increase gradually since the acceptance of Japan. And from that point, the increase continued.

From the year 2010 to 2017 bitcoin record shows that the price has its rise and fall. Within that 7 years, there was 19x increased and 11x decreased. As of November 6, 2017 it rose up to $7300 but there would be a tendency of price fall before the year ends. These only mean that the bitcoin price in 2018 will be much better, higher and more productive.

Honestly I do not see that coming. The past few years bitcoin price do not go that way. But I admit I am so happy and feel bless with it. I think we all feel the same way. What happened this year is really amazing, and remarkable. Correct me if I am wrong but I think it the first time in the history of bitcoin price. When bitcoin reaches 2000$, I assumed that it will just remain on that price until this year end. But I am wrong because it just not double from 2000$ it triple, now big potential to quadruple. So quick. I hope this remains happening even in the next years to come (next year, 2 years 3 years after) .

So many things could happen imo.
I mean in terms of fundamentals it lokks better and better every day. CME launching futures pretty soon. This will be the first step for or a later ETF approval. And with that you will see real big money coming in.
With SegWit now being activated and further implementations like Schnoor Sigs and MAST on the way, Bitcoin will evovle and progress even further. This will a total different beast compared to 12-18 months ago. The Lightning guys also are working pretty hard.
With all these forks we've seen Bitcoin shows how resilient and strong it really is. That's all extremely bullish imo.
So we could see a further rising price of course. Maybe not that strong or crazy as this year but still enough to impress!!!
However we should also expect some short term bear or at least consolidation phases. We can't just go up. Healthy corrections are always needed!!!! So buy the dip when you see an opportunity!

its proven that many people are using bitcoin this year so maybe it will add more bitcoin users in the next year maybe increase the price 15,000 to 20,000 in 2018.

There are no hidden reasons behind this increase. It's just a combination of several factors, from which the most important aspect is the increased demand. I however think that we're past the level of seeing prices that are purely the result of the demand -- speculation makes up 25% of the market at minimum, so it's safe to say that this factor is now what's boosting this market. We'll see how much of current price is left after the hard fork has been initiated. It's not just a miner thing -- it involves basically all entities being part of this ecosystem, so it's for sure the most important happening of the recent years.

i expect bitcoin could able throughpass the current achievement on that year and i'm so excited to see the results of many people predictions that bitcoin will worth as $10k or more on 2018 but in my opinion as long as there is no massive dumped for bitcoin which makes bitcoin price dropped rapidly i think that's enough for me

I don't dream too high. 2018, i am only have predicted yes bitcoin will be in the range $10K. I think, this increase is affected by fork as well. To be honest, value bitcoin as now is a very precious gift for me.

Well for me i definitely think the value of bitcoin will reach $20,000 by the end of 2018. If you look at number of hedge fund investors that invested over $100 million dollars in bitcoin last year they were only 30+ and in this year 2017 there are over 130 hedge fund investors in bitcoin. Bitcoin is now stronger than ever and that is the way that it will continues to be in 2018. Bitcoin is here to stay to make people millionaires, so buy now before it's too late. ;D

It's not that bad to dream too high but do you know what's wrong to do? When you are aiming higher amount and you are starting to be greedy. In this situation when we are seeing the price rally of bitcoin, many of us are hoping that at anytime price of bitcoin will be increasing. My opinion on the price isn't accurate too, $10k - $12k is possible to be reached by next year and who knows if something wrong happens.

Such a positive thoughts about bitcoin but bitcoin is volatile and we don't know if the price of bitcoin will be continue to increase more high Because the price of bitcoin start from 1st fork the price is getting increases a lot so if after this coming novembers 16 segwit 2x fork are done expect that the price could be drop a lot..
So $20k is a large speculation so for me in my own the price could be reach until $15,000 this is  my own speculation..
But if amazon and other company online are accepting bitcoin as payment expect that we will see a huge price increase at more than $20k can be increase if amazon and other big company use bitcoin as payment processor.

The pricing for 2017 has been wild and very much unpredictable. I think the pricing would be in 2018 would pretty much be the same also. At the end of 2018, I expect the pricing to be a $18000.

Based from what I heard, this coming November 16, 2017 will be a fork that will split bitcoin once again, making it into three (3) categories now. Also, the fork that will soon happen will be one of the largest and most contentious forks that happened in the cryptocurrency world. So I think that once it happens, expect prices to dramatically decrease and maybe it would revert back to the $4000-$5000 range. Following the year 2018, I think that bitcoin has the potential of reaching the the $10,000 mark by basing it on the price history chart. We will never know until we actually experience it and we must take the opportunity to invest while prices are still down.

As of now the price of bitcoin is already 7300 doolars and i hope the price will continue to increase so ae can make more profit. If the same scenario will happen on bitcoin next year there is a big chance that bitcoin will reach $15000. This will surely encourage more investors and maybe governments will start realizing that bitcoin is good to our economy and that more people became financially stable because of bitcoin. At first, I honestly didn't expect that it will increase as this high. The continuous increase on the demand that it is getting from the market as more countries are making it legal, made this possible in my opinion. It is now already expensive, and there's still a possibility for its value to be more expensive because of the fork. And maybe in early 2018, it will be already priced at 10000$ if the segwit2x in November will be successful.

Bitcoin price is not fixed. I am suffering now for not buying btc in early 2017. Seems that in Q1 2018, bitcoin will hit a big price. It can be 10k-12k. Sometimes it can be down for some reason but it is sure bitcoin will run a long way.

I think that the opposite. If segwit2x will be successful then we will get two coins which are in great demand. This leads to the fact that the capital now invested in a single coin can be divided into two. No matter in what proportion. If the price of bitcoin will not drop we may be faced with the fact that the price growth will stop.

If the year 2017 bitcoin prices have risen up to 750%, then I'm not sure I can repeat as of 2017, but in general the price will continue to rise and will reach at least $ 15,000 lowest and $ 25,000 the highest price.

right now we can see the price is surging like craze due to many reason,for example we're facing the split.
many people missed their first split and lost an instant profit for more than $100 each Bitcoin a few months ago.
afterward another split happened and we can see the price is moving so damn crazy due to free airdrop.
we should see another correction in the next few months,
at least if nothing goes wrong we need to stabilize it first before make another move.

If the winner of the 2X struggle can be decided soon, then the winner price will rise a lot. Otherwise, the Bitcoin Cash can rise a lot.

actually, I think that bitcoin prices in 2018 may be reduced, especially if there is no further development. well, maybe the price increase that happened in this year is so big. so I think like that. but, on the other hand, I also believe that bitcoin prices will go up.

Imagine if those business man and other companies will use bitcoin will became more than your expectation i already imagine and always looking forward for what will be the best thing that bitcoins becomes.  IT will become around 11-10,000 usd dollar per 1 bitcoin and i believed in that. This year was definately best year for Bitcoins and its price. Will we see some year repeating something like this, I don't think so. In next year we can expect rise in Bitcoins price, but not like in this year. I guess that price in January could be in price range of 8000-9500$ . But there are small possibility that next year or some after that will be even better than this one.

Well, predicting it to the positive way. Since the value of bitcoin today is high and strong, i think it will hit it's highest point by end of this year.

I think bitcoin price will continue to rise in 2018, I am basing on the good standing of bitcoin in crypto industry for this year (2017) which have been a great year for bitcoin. More investors are putting their money in bitcoin as it becomes popular and more people are becoming familiar and gaining knowledge.about it. So I think 2018 would still be a good year for btc and price will continue to pump up.

We really have to just keep waiting to see what would happen in the next future with bitcoin. Like you said, we have had some pretty big speculations coming up with the wall street stepping in and some big merchants adopting it which of course would mean a lot for the usage of digital currencies.

Moreover, so many developments would also come up at long run that would make payment adoption to become massive and then people can start using it as a real life payment means which I am so optimistic about.

Acording to my experience, bitcoin is still young and i think it may increase $8,000-$10,000 by the end of 2018 in condition governments do not affect it

Government support is very important because if the government provides support then Bitcoin will be able to grow much better. see the current condition then we can not confirm how the bitcoin movement in the next year. but certainly we can see that the current Bitcoin continues to grow and the fact that the price of Bitcoin has been heading in an extraordinary direction.

I think the possible price of bitcoin in the next year 2018 is become 10k dollars so if you have extra money invest now in bitcoin with your extra money. But they have possinle the price decrease like today it will continue to decrease the price.

Honestly, No. I did not imagine that. It was very quick, very fast, it is amazing. This year is so remarkable. And take note, according to other bitcoin user, earner, holder, before the end pf this year, bitcoin will be able to reach 10,000$. If that really happened, it was the best christmas gift for us. It is so inspiring, so motivating. Sleepless nights of working just to post is worth it.
But if bitcoin does not reach it, by early 2018, it will reach 10,000$ like the price increase early that year. From that, it is the start of more increase next year. "History repeats" I just hope, only the good thing happens again and not the downs.

Bitcoin is obviously full of surprises and no matter the predictions we make, it might either exceed our expectations like we already have this year or totally not just meet up to our expectations like we have had some years back.

I am not sure from this state we are that bitcoin reaching $8000 - $9000 in 2018 is realistic; because there is every possibility of reaching that even before the end of this year. I am optimistic to see bitcoin around $15000 - $18000 next year ending if everything goes much as expected.

If we compare this year with last year so I think this year was much better than last year because in this year a lot of countries have support and accept bitcoin and many of them make it legal and I’m sure end of the year some more countries will join bitcoin so next year will be the lucky year for bitcoin more and more countries will join bitcoin.

I cannot predict what will happen with the price of bitcoin on 2018. Because of what is happening right now with the cancellation of Segwit2x that affects the price value of bitcoin that goes down 4 percent. For sure in a few days time bitcoin will still goes up, but after all the issues of the hard fork we just don't know if they will still continue to launch the Segwit2x hard fork on the year 2018 that will also affect the value of bitcoin and brings chaos to the bitcoin community. Actually the highest point of bitcoin price last week is $7,900. And no one expect that bitcoin will reach that amount in just 2 months after China banned bitcoin. But like what the other say , that the price of bitcoin was very volatile that it move up and down oftenly. And the $7,900 price fall down into $6,450 in just 3 days. How unpredictable the value of bitcoin is.

This has been the time for resistance gaining to move forward with good momentum. The price has been recovering and hope this will grow above $7500 at the end year paving an initial growth support to reach above $10000 by the starting months of 2018.

Having in mind all recent events and the fact how fast and unpredicted the price was moving in all directions it's realy hard to give any prediction, because everything is possible. But since I'm an optimist I believe that all this mess will be cleared up soon and that Bitcoin will once again have the open road to rise. I think it would reach 10000$ mark in the early months of 2018. Im sure that it will show sudden increase in few months. It might be unpredictable but we can assure it will continue to rise because it continously gaining large demand. But the value would still depend on the support of people. There will be attempt to make people transfer with other coin which definitely affect its value. One thing is for sure, bitcoin value may drop but it will eventually regain its value and go over its highest peak.

No one can predict what is gonna happen in the future but as per the experts says the bitcoin price will hit $ 15K by the end of 2018.But the recent scenario of bitcoin is quite worry the price crashed about more than $ 2000 but it is recovering from the loss slowly.So i hope in the future the price crash won't happen if it happens the reaching of $ 15K is harder to reach at 2018.

Many people have imagined a lot of bubble ending and then we just kept seeing the value increasing over time. I remember sometime on this thread that someone said bitcoin can never go past $15 and then even if it does, would come back to 5-10$ and stay within that lane. Well, we are here today and it has even gone far more than anyone back then would have expected. I guess so many people sold a lot even at that value back then and they must have been regretting it now.

For me, I guess bitcoin price in 2018 will goes than this year. Sometimes there is a possibility that bitcoin price goes down but I guess in this kind of job, we need patience for us to gain more for the following years. Bitcoin is a big help for many people who was working here. Eventhough bitcoin's price will drop then there are many people who was selling there bitcoin's then I guess I agree that they regret on what they do.
