Care to explain what is actually here? It seems to me that there is some sort of a silent panic happening all over the Bitcoin holders worldwide. Some are listening to the FUD that Bitcoin is about to die and be replaced by Bitcoin Cash soon...how true can that be? This is one of the most uncomfortable times to be in cryptocurrency where people in the same industry are killing each other...oh I forgot it is all about greed and opportunism...we are still dogs anyway!

I’m not an expert but my reading of the situation is that since BCH has gone up the miners have decided to move some of their hash power to BCH since right now that is more profitable, that has made bitcoin slower and that is why we are seeing the ridiculous fess you need to pay in order to get a confirmation, this is creating panic, but when the price of BCH dumps or the difficulty goes up miners are going to move once again to bitcoin.

the main reason for BCH pump is Korean exchanges, offering trades for 0% fees.
also, someone pushed so many small transactions into bitcoin I think for a reason ( most transactions are 1 Sat/Byte which is very less and only congests network )

second bitcoin cash is having all the temporary hashing power, as unconfirmed transition increases most people will start solo mining bitcoin.

don't forget that BTC is apis are widely used in various sites, bitcoin is always 1st when it comes to cryptocurrencies, BCH on the other hand not even have a proper android or IOS wallet

I don't think any of this is really being perpetuated by FUD, I'd be more inclined to believe a lot of the market happenings are because of the pump for BCH (which is having its own fork iirc and they're trying to pump it so it stays relevant, along with take a ton of money in the process). There was a selloff of BTC, followed by the BCH pump, I have a feeling the two are closely related and a lot of whales were the cause of the market movements. There isn't anything else that would have caused the market to experience a downturn, of course, unless my predictions of a correction finally happening were true.

Still positive from where it was before though. It's not like Bitcoin is in the negatives, and this very well may have been a bubble.

Too late, I sold all my btc a few hours before the announcement. I was really lucky. I had planned to exit BTC for the Segwit2X fork. I knew it was going to be messy. I moved my money to BCH. Now it has more than doublet. I'm not complaining.

number of unconfirmed transactions has nothing to do with mining. they don't change the difficulty.

it is not "scam" it is called pump and dump.
for example in case of bitcoin gold, they gave us nearly 0.2BTC per bitcoin we held then it got dumped. and like any other altcoin when it reached the bottom it started getting pumped again.
you sell on top, buy at the bottom, sell on top again. rinse and repeat. you add to your bitcoin cold storage like this.

I still believe that bitcoin price will still recover and will increase again that's why I'm still holding on my bitcoin. I'm not an expert- but here's what I know (quick explanation) - if I say something not perfectly correct please do not get on my ass - I'm just trying to help :

The blockchain will get validated by the nodes (miners).  

As soon as you have a majority of nodes ( 51%) confirm (approved) it would become the longest chain - then it become legitimate.  

Right now the majority of the miners are for Segwit 2x so they will confirm any bogus blockchain that coming their way...thus tons of blockchain could potentially be illegitimate (fake).

Then again the attackers could be from anywhere: China, US, Russia...they could be using the VPN with fake IP addresses...

This is unexpected that BTC is falling and BCH has surged a lot. I always thought BTC is a good investment option as compared to BCH but this sudden surge in BCH valuations makes me thinking if it is a good idea to also start investing in BCH. Is it possible that BCH can reach parity or pass BTC?

I wish bitcoin will recover the price and will be stay at the top of all coins. although bitcoin is getting attack but I am sure that bitcoin can pass this and will be increase again soon. but I am surprise that bitcoin cash can reach more than $2xxx for the highest price and fortunately I can make a little profit from buying and selling bitcoin cash so I am waiting bitcoin price is increase again so I can make another profit from bitcoin too.

All I know is that it detracts from and competes with bitcoin.  The publicity from this attack can only be bad for the price of whichever coin ends up on top.

It's a real concerted attack, with miners deserting BTC and the BCH price being being pumped at the same time.  Is there also a flood of BTC transactions happening at the same time?

I can't sell my BCH because I want to move my BTC off the same addresses first, and transactions aren't being confirmed fast enough.  Currently 46 minutes since the last block.

because it is harming bitcoin. you don't see people go around and say how they hate XYZ coin when they get pumped! that is because any other altcoin getting pumped just means that altcoin getting pumped and some traders shift and enjoy the profit.
but when bitcoin cash gets pumped that means hashrate travels from bitcoin to bitcoin cash and when hashrate drops on bitcoin network it leads to slower network so to speak. blocks are found slower and that leads to this huge back log and then the higher fees.

all damages caused by bitcoin cash. you can see be fore the BCH pump bitcoin was fine, no back log, empty mempool and extremely low fees!

After sigwit2x cancelled, it was expected that BCH will be the first priority for people looking for their money to invest. Bitcoin will be back up soon as this BCH pump goes down.

Please give me a link for the news (about sigwit2x cancelled). This is really beyond my scenario and the news is very surprising to me. But bitcoin will remain strong despite a lot of pressure with bitcoin.

I hope this attack will finish soon, i believe in bitcoin but if the price will go down 5k i will start panicking.
Maybe this attack will make bitcoin stronger then before, who knows! at the meantime, the community have to figure out a way to stop such attacks in the future.
Anyway, i think it is a good opportunity for traders to make extra profit, a trader should know what to do even in bad situations.

I don't think that bitcoin will go down i think that bitcoin will keep going higher and higher in value. So i will keep investing and keep making money.

The situation is already back to normal after the BCH price started to fall now the number of pending transactions is about 60K,it has been significantly lowered in two days.So you can make the transactions as always.But the fee is little bit higher due to the pending transaction is higher than the normal level of pending transaction which is about 30K .

Having the belief to btc will not gonna put us in vain and it looks like the BCH bubble is slowly popping out, getting the price from $3000 down to $1000 that still continues to dump.

The transaction will also slowly getting back to normal as I tested out to pass a some sats to my Friends wallet and got confirmed within 1 hour so it is not bad because i used to increase the transaction fee a bit.

It looks like that this attack make's bitcoin more expensive as it is getting to $8000 very soon because btc suddenly jumps to a price of $7454 which is a promising one.

This doesn't mean its an attack. Some group has been trying to pump the price value of bitcoin cash causing price drop with bitcoin. Btc has finally retrieved and BCH's temporary pump is finally and gradually getting over. BTC is once again set to reach new all time high.

The difficulties doesn't seem to go for bitcoin . Now Koreans are backing up BCH .
Even though many people are dumping bitcoin and backing up BCH , bitcoin value has still come to $7.2 k . I seriously don't understand why there are so many panics through out the bitcoin community . In the past , many people have backed up an another altcoin but they ultimately ended up coming back to bitcoin . That's because they weren't. It was the Chinese. Bitmain switched to mining it, slowing down the Bitcoin network as a result.
I've read that the Chinese government could ban mining. This should be the end of BCH pump and the Chinese manipulation. It wasn't an attack on Bitcoin but rather a way to make money on BCH pumping, but we can see by the falling prices that it did not go as planned. Or did it? :-X

Hi Kureijibitcoin, Based on my opinion, you would never know when the dip would happen. If I were you, I would buy bitcoins now since as you can see the charts at https://www.coinbase.com/dashboard, you could see that the price of bitcoin is on the way up. You could just invest your bitcoins now, and let it increase. Afterwards, if for some reason you find out that the "dip" would happen, just sell your btc and you could even buy more btc with that price you got. Just keep on being updated with the news in bitcoin and find out the results of segwit2x and hardforks if it would increase or decrease the value or on how it would affect the value of bitcoin.

These days, it reached way below 7k, because of the chinese pump on BCC. I was waiting, perhaps, for it to happen again, since i want to buy as low as i can. Unfortunately, my money didn't get to the exchange on time to buy at that price. Guess i'll just have to live with it and buy at the current price, which isn't too bad actually.

It is becoming hard to say anything about bitcoin cash or predict anything, the boast has made me to gaspe in astonishment at the worth of bitcoin cash, it is really questioning to start investing in bitcoin cash, but i don't think that bitcoin cash will beat bitcoin, that is even more promising and gives a high output, rise and fall are part of every currency and bitcoin will also boast

No other currency can replace bitcoin, bitcoin will be king forever because it is providing good opportunities to its users to earn more and be among rich in future. It is more promising and helping investors to get into promising projects and earn a lot. Many currencies can give bitcoin a tough competition but will not be able to replace it
