I think climate change, also called global warming, refers to the rise in average surface temperatures on Earth.Other human activities, such as agriculture and deforestation, also contribute to the proliferation of greenhouse gases that cause climate change.

The number one reason of climate change on earth are the fluctuations in the sun's activity. You can determine that by observing also climate change on other planets of the solar system.

The earths climate can be affected by natural factors that are external to the climate system,such as changes in volcanic activity,solar output,and the earth's orbit around the sun of these, the two factors relevent on timescale s of contemporary climate change are changes in volcanic activity and changes in solar radiation.

Earth's temperature depends on the balance between energy entering and leaving the planet’s system. When incoming energy from the sun is absorbed by the Earth system, Earth warms. When the sun’s energy is reflected back into space, Earth avoids warming. When absorbed energy is released back into space, Earth cools. Many factors, both natural and human, can cause changes in Earth’s energy balance, including.

One could be pollution and abuse of nature such as tree cutting.  Abuse of use of environmental resoursces.

First of all, this is the pollution of the atmosphere. Additionally nuclear weapon tests affect the climate much and cause its changes.

  The greenhouse effect of factories and plants, the creation of artificial reservoirs
  pollution of industrial waste and vital activity.

Climate change in fact happens in every season, this is why the winter is cold while the summer is warm.

It is a simple fact that if the density of certain gases (termed greenhouse gases) in the atmosphere increase then temperature will increase.
There are two ways gases in teh atmoosphere can increase.
1. An increase in output of these gases from the earth
2. A reduction in the earths ability to naturally absorb these and break them down.

The main increases:
Burning fossil fuels; for electricity, heating homes, driving cars/buses/planes
Farming of animals; they produce large amounts of methane which is a much more potent greenhouse gas than CO2

Main decreases:
Change in ocean; the ocean is the the main sink of carbon and as it warms it becomes less effective at absorbing carbon, this increase in temperature also means less algae grow which also absorb large amounts of carbon. This is a runaway warming effect as the warmer it gets the less can be absorbed and so on.
Deforestation; we cut down trees primarily for farmland to farm animals. Forests absorb huge amount of co2.

in my opinion, the one cause of climate change is pollution especially now so many vehicles in our country even if they cut off cars will still continue to increase pollution due to increased smoke of vehicles and especially smoke of factories.observe the sky it's not the colorful sky blue then.

If the real cause of climate change is the cutting down of trees, what the hell has been these NGO protesting climate change have been really doing, they just funds from those who donates and they do absolutely nothing at all even if population is high, planting tree will be able to counter that. With the advancing technology, humans have become more and more neglectful to his environment. Humans have failed in the aspect of giving back to nature. The cause of climate change is pollution, deforestation, water pollution, etc. It destroys our ecosystem that causes landslide, soil erosion, and floods. We need to plant more trees to lessen the pollution in earth.

Planting more trees is not the right solution. What is the point in planting a few trees, when tens of thousands of square kilometers of virgin forest is being deforested every year? If you want to neutralize the effects of deforestation, then you need to plant millions of hectares of forest. It is plain impossible, because that much land is not free.

Pollution, that is the number 1 reason why climate change exist, out atmosphere cant handle too much pollution anymore and our forest and mountains that serve a shield for a strong typhoon to make it weak are gone and some are destroyed or polluted.

There are lots of factors that affects climate change. Cutting of trees, pollution that causes by all the harmful chemicals used in everyday life.

The use of fossil fuel and environmental pollution is one of the reasons why there has been global warming in the world nowadays. The more factories that are being built pollutes the air and this in turn destroys the ozone layer and make the suns harmful rays enter the earth atmosphere.

Climate change is the culmination of all the activities of humans to advance ourselves technologically. Now, more than ever the effects are stark. It saddens me to say this but our planet can't be saved anymore. It took almost a century of abuse to get the planet in this condition. A decade of doing good won't change that. Solution? Culling of the human species.

I think the climate changed is influenced by changes in the state of the earth caused by the damage and negligence of humans in preserving the natural. Many people today are less concerned with environmental sustainability resulting in damage and disaster in this earth.Therefore the state of the earth changed and affected the climate in around us.

Well, as far as I know we're currently getting out of an ice age that has lasted for thousands of years. It is only natural that it's getting warmer. I don't really think it's warming up because of factories/deforestation/cow farts/whatever. There are reasons to believe that climate fluctuations are cyclic, and that we do not really affect climate. The planet is simply too big for our activities to matter.

The mean cause of climate change is the excessive amount of air pollution,as much as the factory produces smoke ,and is one of the consequences of increasing the number of vehicles.

The main cause of climate change is that many people are getting sick because sometimes its cold and sometimes its hot, like me im getting sick and my nose is bleeding because i feeling sick.

Human activities are the only responsible for climate change. Using fossil fuels and not using reneweable energy is causing global warming. People are destroying their planet with their own hands. If something does not change, climate change will bring mankind's end.

Earth's climate is dynamic and always changing through a natural cycle. There are a number of natural factors responsible for climate change. Some of the more prominent ones are continental drift, volcanoes, ocean currents, the earth's tilt, and comets and meteorites. Many facts can cause climate changes, some as I know were

A. Continental drift - About 200 million years ago they were joined together! Scientists believe that back then, the earth was not as we see it today, but the continents were all part of one large landmass. Proof of this comes from the similarity between plant and animal fossils and broad belts of rocks found on the eastern coastline of South America and western coastline of Africa, which are now widely separated by the Atlantic Ocean.

B. Volcanoes - When a volcano erupts it throws out large volumes of sulphur dioxide (SO2), water vapour, dust, and ash into the atmosphere. Although the volcanic activity may last only a few days, yet the large volumes of gases and ash can influence climatic patterns for years.

C. The earth's tilt - The earth makes one full orbit around the sun each year. It is tilted at an angle of 23.5° to the perpendicular plane of its orbital path. For one half of the year when it is summer, the northern hemisphere tilts towards the sun. In the other half when it is winter, the earth is tilted away from the sun. If there was no tilt we would not have experienced seasons.

D. Ocean currents - The oceans are a major component of the climate system. They cover about 71% of the Earth and absorb about twice as much of the sun's radiation as the atmosphere or the land surface.

While it is true the earth has gone though hot and cold periods throughout its billions of years history. It is also true that the removal of plant life on a large scale coupled with industrial and industry pollution has sped up this current warming process a fair bit.

I believe that we are part of the earth's destruction. It maybe very hard for us to admit but we humans are the ones who are responsible of climate change. Being irresponsible and lack of discipline are the reasons why we are experiencing global warming. These things are the consequences of our negligence for our environment.

I would say that the most important factors which are responsible for the environmental damage are the burning of fossil fuels, and deforestation. And the ultimate irony is that these two can be easily prevented if the government is having the will power to stop it. All major climate change is caused by the sun. Right now the sun seems to be going into cooling mode. That is, the amount of heat the sun is outputting is lessening.

Because of human activities too much on the ecological system, the environment. Due to the plant, waste means often emit harmful daytime. Burning of fossil fuels and deforestation remains as the most important causes. I am glad that the fossil fuel consumption is going down. But unfortunately, the decline is not sharp enough to save the planet. There hasn't been much progress with the electricity-driven vehicles during the past 2-3 decades. The Lithium/Cobalt batteries remains very expensive and we need to invent new technology to replace it.

The main cause of climate change is the people's neglience to the the nature. Many people have no respect or dont give importance to our environment. They just want money, so they sacrifice nature.

The main cause of global warming or climate change is human's behavior. Why can i judge like that?! Because the human's behavior like throw the garbage out of place (in the develop country, the citizens like to put their garbage to the river, tossed from car, dumped in the ditches, etc). They have bad habit that they can't imagine will destroy our world.
Besides of that, development of the technology become one of the effect of global warming or climate change. People make refrigerator, air conditioner to fulfill the people's needs. These products must have advantages and disadvantages. As we known together that if we use refrigerator, etc which is contains CFCs, HCFCs it can be effect climate change or global warming. That can make ozone layer thinning and the balance of nature disturbed.

But we are well out of the Pleistocene, we were in the Holocene, which was the interglacial period which followed the Pleistocene and started roughly 11,700 years ago. However, we are now actually in the Anthropocene, which is an epoch defined by humanity's impact on it. We are living in the era in which us, humans, are the most significant actor on all planetary systems.

The climate changes for a whole host of reasons yes. We have a pretty good idea of what changed the climate over very long time periods in the past, as you say, changes in sun output, amount of absorption of CO2 and other gases by vegetation and the oceans, the earth is a dynamic system and there are so many feedback loops that send it one way or another for a multitude of reasons. But the warming trend seen in this century has been the fastest and most rapid rise of temperature at any time in the history we have observed. Not only is it unobserved in the last 900,000 years we have records for but the correlation is almost exactly mirrored by the amount of CO2 which we have been dumping into the atmosphere.
Humans are the main cause. This is undisputed by over 97% of the scientific community.

i'm going to assume we are speaking of man made climate change, not natural cycles. i don't think there is any "one" reason and if i had to chose one it would simply be the word "people" while you can argue the impact of this or that activity the sheer amount of carbon we are putting into the atmosphere isn't a good thing. on a small scale you can walk into a city, temp is often 5+deg/f higher than 20 miles outside the city. you have all these heat sources in the city. more people = more cities and more consumption. i don't think anyone really knows what the increased levels of pollution are going to do exactly it's just getting to be pretty obvious that it isn't good. the other white elephant in the room is crude oil. there is only so much left. we know where it comes from. we know how it formed. it's finite. while there are renewables and we can recycle many materials there is absolutely nothing in the works which could provide the same number of BTU's indefinitely as we get from crude. world has a lot of coal and thorium reactors could be quite possible but it's all finite. all of it. society can not continue this growth trajectory forever. my personal theory is those in power know it and it's why entire continents like africa have been intentionally kept poor. just looking at today we simply do not have the resources for every person on the plant to have the same energy usage as the average westerner. even countries like saudi use words like "medium term" when discussing oil in the future.

The most common cause of climate changes in the past has been the light of the sun being blocked causing an age of ice as the planet freezes over. The years known as The Ice Age is one example of what happens when the sun is unable to penetrate the atmosphere and warm up the Earth.

I think that the main cause of climate change are the activities that we do that always affects our environment. Those activities are under our control so we are the ones who are responsible about handling it. Climate change is a serious case that we might do something about. You are right. The planet is not capable of sustaining such a large human population. As per my calculations, it may be able to support a human population of around 2 billion, which is about 1/4th of the current world population.

And this proportion is going down on a constant basis despite preservation efforts. If you want to decrease the concentration of CO2, then something must be done to stop this rabid deforestation.
