Well some one is still dumping on Cryptopia so I will sit back and watch.

I don't know the current status of the project but it didn't let good impression because information on opening page is still in chinese language probably. It should be in proper english to be easy for everyone to understand the basic information about coin. I will search all the available over the previous pages about this anyway.

This method of selling coins on a exchange is old and it never worked out. Bittrex and C-Cex used to do this type of ICO offerings in the past. Most of them don't recover from the dump. ICOs today are more organized and many of them are careful enough not to let whales hoard the coins and when we have these coins spread out between investors the chances of being successful are much higher. For all these reasons I don't think this is the best choice to make an ICO on a exchange like MagicCoin did. I will be watching from the sidelines until I see that this project is good enough to buy.

well, I stuck 1K on these coins at what I call high risk, the only reason I did that was that I was feeling generous and had made a huge amount of another coin.
But I am getting a bad feeling about this coin now, magic coin  ??? or a coin of magic: ::) one minute you have something worth investing, next you have nothing,  :'( I feel this could be the later.

actually, the home page kept me amused for a few seconds, hmmm yeah I am easy to amuse watching the pattern of everything move around as the mouse moves over. actually, it is not a bad web page.
Others say it isn't in English but on the right headers on the front page says English or Chinese, click on the English and your all good to go.

They ask you to make an account to sign in, I did this and even was able to give myself a username of Jack, which I thought, pretty neat, it was very easy to make the account and didn't have to go through the bullshit of waiting for an email but logged straight in.

I do not recommend that one invests here as looking at the benefits they are pretty steep if you want to draw out early, losing 50% of your investment.
if you did stay for 299 days investing $1010 to $5000 your interest will be a whole 0.35% commission, I am unsure if that amount is daily, if it is an investment of $1010.00  which is the minimun then you will get $3.535 per day for 299 days. which seems too good for what you get, bringing back what your Dad used to say, if its to good to be true then don't go near it.

I have edited here.... once you have downloaded and installed your wallet it does not take long for 87905 blocks to sync, there were only 8 connections and I did not see a .conf file in the folder.

it will only pay out once you reach 5 MAGE. Many others have been mining and getting payouts including myself. Like I said, I am shutting down the pool soon simply because we can no longer compete with one of the vietnamese pools which has 3TH. I do not know where this pool is or if it is private.

You will get whatever coins have not been paid once I set payout to 0.1 and restart the pool. I am waiting for the rest of the miners to remove their miners before I can do this. There is still 36.GH at the pool.

I can also see in the log that they orphaned quite a few of our blocks. I cannot say why the blockchain did this, but is is all in the pool stats.

If I can just get the last few miners to leave, I will deposit more coin from my own wallet to cover any shortfall before the payout.

Hi Guys, I'm back and I see things are back to normal. Please tell me you have seen some payout by now. I'll ask again, anyone with concerns or that think they are being scammed, give me your address and I can check what is up and what you are owed.

I am getting a little tired of the people here trying to accuse me of scamming. I am simply trying to provide a service. My own wallet has only gotten 1 X 5 coins since yesterday and I am mining with 2 X L3+ on this.

Once you get your payout, please come back and apologize for your scam accusations, not particularly elegant.

wallet is  Maintenance

Your design looks fine, but should use only one language on your thread, might be better for readers.

It seems MagicCoin is preparing for a hard fork, but they have not announced it to the community. This is why the cryptopia wallet is in maintenance. I suspect that noone will be able to mine very soon as they have not released wallet source or a new wallet for that matter.

This is Magic Coin (MAGE), not Coin of the Magi (XMG). MAGE is a lending platform like Bitconnect or Regal coin.

dude, does not matter who gets the block, the pool payout is proportional. Every block is only 0.5 MAGE, check the block explorer.

I have already paid out over 100MAGE from my own wallet because of orphaned blocks and you still call me a scammer. Dude, get a grip. This has cost me a lot of money which is why I stopped the pool.

The shake is shaking? WTH? I don't understand this. There is noone at my pool as it is not online, at least not to the public, at least when the coin daemon takes exorbitant transfer fees, I will owe myself and not you guys. Sorry, but I cannot run a pool for everyone if it is going to cost instead of make money, especially such a high amount. I made a loss of over $600 by running the pool for 1 day publicly. I will spawn pools again for other coins, but definitely not this one. I suspect we are all being scammed considering the wallet is now in maintenance mode at Cryptopia and the stated reason references some article about Coin of the Magi (XMG).

I have logged a support ticket with Cryptopia, but I suspect that this is something similar to what is going on with Bitmark for the last 14 months.

Please, if anyone from the MagicCoin team is still monitoring this, explain what on earth is going on.

Solo mining would be futile unless you have a warehouse full of GPUs. You need a stratum server to mine with ASICs.

no, the pool has been shut down for now. I will only start another pool once we get some clarity from the Dev team about some incorrect behaviour from the wallet and a status on the Cryptopia deposits. If we start a new pool it will be MPOS so everyone can manage their own payouts and see their profit. Only way not to have accusations of fraud and what not.

Here is the Exact message on Bitcointalk. It seems that they have indeed disabled the wrong coin. LOL

This release schedules a hard fork at block #1606950 as a solution to the current mining issue that miners cannot mine blocks:

- The PoW / PoS block generation rule is disabled.

- Difficulty adjustment algo switches back to MQW at #1606948.

- Block drift time is limited within 5 min.

- Remove IRC and add DNS seeds.

Quick guide:

- Windows: unpack the files and run the wallet directly;
- Mac OS: unpack the files and copy to the Application folder, and then run the wallet directly;
- Linux: unpack the files and run the wallet directly.

Quick startup I (without touching the block-chain):

0) Backup wallet.dat;
1) Launch the new wallet.

Quick startup II (replacing the block-chain):

0) Backup wallet.dat;
1) Download block-chain data from here: http://m-core.org/bin/block-chain;
2) Delete all of the contents under the .magi (unix-like system) or Magi (OS X or Windows) folder, except for wallet.dat and magi.conf;

Things explained..

Firstly, I admit what's going on isn't good to the situation, and I do see there are needs of further works to fulfill the purpose of the coin.

There is no rollback. I learned few requests about actions on the miners who mined (future) blocks that the generic miners can't mine, and for that, rollback is one of the approaches. However, taking into account the overall situation that time to time transactions are involved, especially exchanges, there will be more damage to the coin when we cease the chain or perform a rollback.

As explained shortly in previous post, what happens is associated with the PoW / PoS rule in combination with the fact that 2-hour future blocks allowed as in the original design. I do see in this rule weakness because of the PoW block generation capable of being on a 10-min pattern without the PoS blocks. The another feature of MAGI's network that is intentionally kept at low hash rate comes a likability that one with a reasonable amount hash can launch a future block attack, the chance of this is increased by a fact that generic users can't make valid blocks owing to the PoW / PoS rule; these blocks are supposed to reset the block time.

By overviewing the situation, I see there is a difficulty in maintaining low-hash rate network, as individuals can always acquire big hash rate. In contrast, advantage lies in a network with huge amount of hash that individuals can't compete with. Nevertheless, it's not our intention to compromise the purpose because of the weakness. The PoS is supposed to dilute such weakness; I'm seeing the merit of the PoW / PoS rule when used beautifully. We shall make efforts on this aspect.

I put 157 coins in a wallet and let it sit since Jan 12 and it's staked and confirmed 4 times. 6 other times it staked, but they resulted in orphans. As for this lending program, I have no idea how it works.

To tell you the truth, I only bought $1k of this coin because I was bored and decided to buy the shittiest ICO I could find for shear entertainment. If anyone put any serious money into this, I suggest you only run this wallet on it's own isolated vm on an isolated network with no other wallets installed. Also, don't use the web browser on that pc either. This thing screams of some sort of scam. I just can't figure out if it's just a ponzi, exit scam, or something even more sinister. Whatever it is, this thing really smells bad.

yeah just send it to a wallet and leave it on. I think the bigger the amount the shorter the average time to stake. it would be an interesting experiment to run 1 wallet with 100 coins vs 5 wallets with 20 coins for example. I don't know which would be ahead in the end.

BTW when I put the first 157 coins in there, the first stake didn't hit for 5 days. Then it started staking basically once per day after that, but majority were orphans.

When this stakes, you just get 2.5 coins. I guess if you had enough coins, you may be able to stake twice a day in theory, but what would be the point really of putting any large sum into this just to make 5 coins/day?
