Ethereum is now at $469 and rising. together with Ethereum classic, they are the top gainers in the last few days. Is Ethereum the future? majority say that it is not scalable. how true is this

Ethereum cannot be the future as long as bitcoin is also rising. But nevertheless, its the best alt coin out there.

Not scalable? Ethereum is more scalable than bitcoin or most of the currencies out there. Thats even why its the #2 ranked crypto currency based on market capitalization. If you ask me, ETH actually has a more active development team that both constantly works on the coin as well as branches out and really tries to get some real world use to it (via the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance). Speculation says ethereum will rise even more before the year ends.

I was waiting for this moment for a long time. I believe it has an even bigger potential.

Well, I'm not surprised that it happened. During the battle between BTC and BCH all cryptos were red while ETH had a stable balance between 300 cnd 310 USD. Start of its movement was just a matter of time.

it's very good rising , i see it every day and it take the green light to rise from 290 to 469 till now , i think he will touch 500$ soon . but take care .

Well it's a good news if ETH is rising although i think it's normal that its value to increas, but ETH will never takeover bitcoin if that's what you're thinking, bitcoin is the genuine and almost all altcoin is based on bitcoin maybe 1 altcoin rise and takeover bitcoin but i don't think that that altcoin already exist cause all the altcoin that is created are just innovation so i don't think they can replace bitcoin but if a coin is created with its own genuinity and a concept that is really comparable to bitcoin then i think that 1 coin can takrover bitcoin.

I think Ethereum is the second bitcoin :D And it will cost more than 2000$ in two years.

yeah today ethereum raised more than 13% from yesterday, i dont know what is going on with ethereum but its a good news, hahaha i hope that ethereum is have a same value with bitcoin or bitconicash  ;D ;D

It's been a very good day for all alts. Very green and very good gains. We could be in for an interesting remainder of the year. All it takes is for the train to start moving and then as more people jump in the momentum will increase.

I think ethereum is the best coin after bitcoin,as its price has been rising. Bitcoin will still remain the best with higher price and most popularity as it was the original one to come, so until bitcoin faces a hige price drop or something that leads to the price drop for bitcoins or more people's interests turning towards etherum or  other coins, ethereum may surpass bitcoins then. I don't see that happening anytime soon though.

increased ethereum is a process that can already be guessed by crypto players. I think this happens because of the rising bitcoin prices. to pursue ethhereum market share, then it will increase the price.

News re Casper and other positive news are now carrying ETH price IMO. That's real value, not hype or fake news as for most altcoins in their early stages. At the moment there is the expected correction and I believe that already this weekend we will see new all time high. Great thing about ETH price is that it does not fluctuate that much. Sign of a established coin and very mature community and development path.

I always prefer Ethereum after Bitcoin. Ethereum is my most favourite Altcoin.

Ethereum is the most developed smart contract platform with great support. I don't think that it's correct to compare it with BTC due to another class of crypto, so ETH should be succeed despite of bitcoin price. I believe in 1000$ in the beginning of 2018.

I think ethereum deserves this attention right now; it has been stagnant these past few years. I think this attention could be linked to the booming of ICO's this year so it's safe to assume that it will continue to rise next year as long as ICOs are not regulated yet

Based on my weekly chart Ethereum will still pumps upto $700 lets hope alts market will grow more.

Ethereum is not the future IMO. I believe it is rising because of the fear of some people on the rumors about operation dragonslayer. If you don't know about it, just search about #operationdragonslayer on Twitter. The gist is that it is a plan for bch to overtake original btc and for some reason, some people who heard about this news move to ETH to hedge and to avoid the drama that is to occur. The only question is that when it will happen? The only indication that it has begun is that when btc price starts plummeting.

IMHO, ETH price will continue to rise if the ICO model continues with ETH.

The thing that can stop ETH is an alternative model for ICOs.

of course eth has a future, you can see for yourself how the development of eth during this time. eth prices are now starting to rise, as well as bitcoin prices. i judge this is a good sign. the price of bitcoin and altcoin at this time has begun to stabilize.

I think ETH has a great future and will rise more. It is the second most widely used cryptocurrency in the world, it is much more efficient than bitcoin, faster, cheaper. And it is more affordable, people are not afraid to invest in it, like thez are in the mastodontic bitcoin. Also people who dont like the fees will switch to ETH not BCH, because the latter is still somehow fishy due to the recent attacks.

I have always advocate that Ethereum is the next Bitcoins. L ICO uses ETH platform. So I think is the next bitcoins.

I think the price up and down is very common

Currently there is a rise in ethereum price being seen concurrent to the price of bitcoin rise and bitcoin cash rise. Though I am not sure of the reason behind this but my assumption is this that people are stocking up on crypto before Christmas and this is what is pumping the price. You can say its a Black Friday sale of crypto at the exchanges. There may be a dump after this by the whales if this pump is being made by whales and not by legitimate traders who value the price of the crypto.

We already knew that ethereum is a competitive altcoins since before. And its proven for the fast years that it can really to take challenge in the market place.

And I believe that due to the strong and fast movement of bitcoin, it gives a huge impact to all altcoins. But because ethereum is mostly a base for all tokens, it will help to manage for a huge surge of bitcoin. This is signifies that ethereum is getting on the field of huge competition and it become stronger.

It may rise into $500 later this year and $1000 in 2018. A good altcoin to invest to. 

Ethereum as the leader of the Altcoin group will be eventually rise and that's the good news for all Altcoin holders. As we can see this last quarter of the year Ethereum and other top Altcoins are performing well and probably will give us good profit next year.

Ethereum is a promising altcoin with the potential to be at $10k . Ethereum smart contracts are being used by many companies nowadays. Many ICOs are using ETH coin to trade their tokens. This is a very long debate, people are divided for believing bitcoin is the future, others are saying bitcoin cash and some says eth is the one. Depending on what you believe since ETH whether will be the future or not it is a profitable coin that everyone can hold. And surprisingly the price of ETH now is $471 and I guess it's really to break $500 now.

Ethereum has increase significantly in recent time this could be attributed to the recent increase in the market value of Bitcoin lately to almost  $8800 of which ethereum rise to almost $470 as the time of this post. Am of the believe that ethereum will continue to increase in the nearest future and now is the right time to invest in ethereum.

I don't know why we're still comparing crypto prices to the dollar. When you look at the Bitcoin value of Ethereum, you'll see it has fallen hard the past month, so an upward correction was due. In June it was 0.151 BTC, now it's only 0.054!

I think this is a massive change for ETH as its price increased really high just after a few days. Although ETH couldn't be the same as Bitcoin based on what I am seeing now but hopefully it'll stay on top as one of the trusted altcoin in the crypto world.

ETH is definitely not a currency. Its main function is smart contracts, dapps, etc.

Well if we talk about next year, ethereum will be into great challenge as it might encounter more drops of price because of more eth contract been relying with it for a long time since the start of this year. The difficulties to rise the ethereum price value isn't like with bitcoin or other crypto currencies who gained better price so fast but fast to decline. With eth, even if we see that price got volatile for a meanwhile but I see it not so fast to change with its current value because many holders will wait until further increase of its price in the trading marketplace.

Exactly Ethereum is one of the most stable coin in the market. There are so many coins based on ETH. Price rise of ETH is slow compare to BTC but i think ETH  is the only coin that can overtake BTC. I am not saying that it will but as of now it is the only coin that can.

I really do believe that Ethereum is the future, but I can't say the same for Ethereum Classic. What has happened back in the day was that Ethereum got hacked, and basically in order to save the funds they had to make some updates to the protocol. Ethereum Classic is basically the people who decided not to follow these protocol changes because the protocol should be considered "holy". What a nuts idea. I mean how are you suppose to continue developing in an ever evolving market? You are meant to make hard decisions if they will benefit most of the people. Since then ETC has offered nothing significant, the only significant enough thing was this hedge fund creating this sort of ETC index, or pool which attracted quite some investors, besides that there is nothing new that ETC brings to the market.

Ethereum is really increasing their price in the crypto industry, I think many investors are starting to attract and  to invest in this coin. Maybe because they used it for payment of token in crypto currency that's why ethereum value are raising up in the market rapidly. I'm looking forward to the continues increasing of this altcoin. I think if the capitalist starting to enjoy using this coin, maybe in the future they support it so much that possibly results of continues increasing of ethereum value in the market.

It was all clear from the start. I don’t understand why people are so surprised from ethereum’s rise. Ethereum is the best alt coin with out any doubts and one of the most trustworthy coins around. It’s all part of a natural process for me.

Im very happy because finally the price of the ethereum increased again. I hope it will increase more so we can make a lot of profit in the future. I just said the price of Ethereum is decreasing. How can you even think about it increasing more when it is dropping? The dollar value? Right now you're losing dollars if you hold Ethereum instead of Bitcoin.

I've sold all of my ethereum @0,07 for each ether. At this time the price was doubled rather than sell my ether right now.

Yes, Ethereum has made its price hike lately and could rise to thousand dollars by next year but i don't think that Ethereum or other alternate coins that runs under its platform would one day be the future of cryptoworld as long as bitcoin is around.

ETH has fallen down today. There are many investors have changed to invest in Bitcoin before the hard fork in the middle December. I think this is the good time to buy ETH. Its price will recover in 2018

I used to see Bitcoin only, and did not want to see another cryptocurrency, but I now realize that Altcoin also has potential. Ethereum is the best Altcoin and suitable to be an investment solution after Bitcoin. I also had the idea that Ethereum could be a backup plan for Bitcoin so that when Bitcoin gets into trouble, we do not panic. We still have hope with the Ethereum investment.

Ethereum is rising and now is above 600 dollars that is good for ETH and its investors, now I do not doubt that ethereum is going to have lots of applications in the future, but bitcoin is going to be there in the top spot, many people may think it is unfair but the first mover advantage of bitcoin is very big.

I am also hoping becuase of cryptokitties ethereum network got quite bad effect last two weeks now its stable and will rise the value for sure . Ethereum for me is still undervalued. The price should be around $1000 or more today. It should be really next to bitcoin, however, it didn't happened because they didn't get the trust of most traders that's why the price didn't took off.

Lately there has been several occasions someone stating that 1BTC costs too much for investors and there are cheaper options like ETH or other altcoins are more suitable. I really do not understand what the coin value has to do with anything. You can buy 0.0001 BTC and less even, if you cannot afford 1BTC. If your investement grows 50%, you have 50% profit. It does not make any difference if the 1 coin costs 700USD or 17000USD, it is still 50% profit. And to make it clear, these statements actually refer to coin value, not the potential growth of the value.

It is really great news. Some of these coins have done really so well and so many of them will also do even more in coming years as the devs keep working hard and announcing the development so far. The thing that is interesting is that, it is a tough market even for them and only those who can do a great perfect job as devs will last in the market and will survive.

But in long run, I always doubt with any altcoin even for its survival as a new innovation will be more than enough to make eth to fade away from the investors portfolio which will do in terms of trader's perspective too.

The current price of Ethereum has stepped on $800~ that means it has gone up almost 2-fold within 1 month. I think that proves how potent Ethereum is. I think looking at the stats it is very worthed and recommended to have other investments besides bitcoin ie Ethereum investment. let alone the growing ethereum community. is not it possible the development of eth will be very rapid and may beat bitcoin?

No one is even expecting it to defeat bitcoin. This is not a contest, but one thing for sure is that Ethereum will always do well in the market. This is a coin with a lot of active devs and even despite all that has happened; this is a coin that has been dusting any complications and issues and still doing great in the market. With a lot of projects that Ethereum has given birth to, I would say it is just a start for it.

All of those coins are good for long term holding but you also need to balance your portfolio and hold some other coins with lower market capitalization that way you can make even more money in the short term with those investments, while the coins you mention give you long term profits.
