Heyyy Guys , what do you think about the Bitcoin futures listings ?

i think it is was great at the future because of its possibility to increase the amount of users so there is so much thing to happen at the future maybe its good or bad we know that prediction is not a reality so we find out that when it comes to the day!

We will see very soon :) Bitcoin Futures (https://coincodex.com/article/1122/bitcoin-futures-cboe-contracts-available-before-cme-wall-street-banks-push-back/) are launching in few hours. It could go both ways, crash to below $10,000 or pump above $20,000. But a crash is more likely.

1.) Remember that CME-BRR is Goldman-Sachs, aka ZOG, they own the western world and all its banking
2.) So ZOG now  owns BTC


First a little rally, then a wash, remember there is 300 billion USD of fiat paper that GS plans to steal from this market,  and the principal clients are like winkelvoss siamese-twins that must sells billions of usd worth of btc without collapsing the price or seizing up the transaction record, better to sell 100's, and buy insurance from goldman-sachs when the real selling causes the price drop.

The futures market is about to start trading right away. There are two factors: First, futures are leveraged so more money can be brought. Perhaps this is the fastest way for BTC to go to the moon. Answer to this question is quiet difficult. Since last one year bitcoin price is rising continuously with great pace. Its popularity is increasing day by day, its unexpectedly raised price is attracting investors towards it. Due to limited supply and increasing demand bitcoin has become the most volatile currency. If bitcoin developed with such a pace it has bright future ahead and may achieve target predicted by John Mcafee. But sudden rise in price also worried many experts, they term this sudden price rise as a bubble. Illegal activities also started using bitcoins in their trade. As a result many countries like China, Japan, India, Australia, Indonesia banned/ regulated bitcoin transactions. If this continuous to other nations then bitcoin future is not promising.

With the things bitcoin has done in the past weeks I worry about its future. It grows too fast in a short time and becoming bubbles can always explode. When it has too high it starts dump but it does not stop at any value which continues to dump. If the bitcoin continues to go crazy in the future, it will not last forever. I think we should not push it up fast and help it maintain a certain value so that it can build trust for everyone.

The future of bitcoin is great, year after year, bitcoin will known in the whole world because of its standard and its ratings.

i think the price of Bitcoin still icreasing because number of user icreasing day by day but number of bitcoin is limited.
may be some day another cryptocurrency can replace bitcoin but not now.

bitcoin as a digital currency has not yet taken place. people do not use it for transactions. basically see here an investment asset. :-\

I think bitcoin will grow very far in the future, and prices are getting crazier making the world slowly recognize bitcoin and make it as second money for payment after the currency they use. that's my opinion.

Real BTC price must not depends on price of BTC futures. But it depends  :'(
For example TEZOS futures dont have any common with TEZOS coins, which are not distributed yet, but price of TEZOS futures depend on news of TZS team.

Bitcoin future was pretty good as it is good today. Bitcoin price was continue increasing and it has a good effect on it for the future. Many people will going to used it and maybe sooner or later it will be accepted by the government. bitcoin future are successful because as you can see now bitcoin are a lot popular now to people and other developing country. there are a lot of investors that would like to invest in it because they think that they future will be good when investing in it. and for the value of bitcoin in future will increase .

The market is in an amazing bull run, if people want to short the future contract, they gotta own bitcoin first, not a few k, but 50,000 at least to manipulate the market at this point. In addition as I see CME and CBOE only limit 5,000 contract (5,000 BTC) per account, so it is a downside for some1 who wanna short. And the most importantly, the future contract expire in a specific day, so I do not think we need to worry about 10 Dec or 18 Dec, maybe weeks later on expired date.

I guess that's kind of what people are worried about... that the main reason behind this (extended) bull run is the big players loading up on coins meant to be used to push the price down. Didn't know about the specific expiry date, still, that would make a flash-crash only more likely since there'll be a lot of people with a strong interest to push the market down at this specific point in time.

Ya, but if they want to manipulate, they gotta do it on or 1-2 days before the expired date, too risky to push price down on the first day, and see it recover on the expired date. Do you know if CBOE and CME public the contract information? Like how much volume, how many contracts short, how many contracts long?

I think bitcoin futures is good to hear because as of now for all the users of bitcoin we that they also think that it is the leading organization which can give as support in terms of mOney and also to know a lot of things about it, and if really love to use it in the future its pretty awesome because we all know that this one is a trusted organization and a friend for us users.

I think there will be a good future ahead of bitcoin. I think its value will continue to rise just like what is happening now. It will continue to expand, more countries will recognize and accept it, and more and more will use, and invest in bitcoin. More businesses will accept bitcoin as payment for common goods and services. Bitcoin will never disappear on our system.

It seems to me that futures on bitcoin is perfectly. Therefore, traditional investors are becoming more confident in bitcoin and the exchange rate will grow!

But i am thinking that when bitcoin is still in the grey area then how come it will be listed in any country's trading exchange.I wish even options could have been started by this coming year 2018. Let's see is there any kind of hope in listing the bitcoin futures or not and who comes first in listing them in their country's exchanges.

Exactly my thoughts. I expected that bitcoin futures would help bitcoin continue rallying and looks like I was right. Bitcoin seems to have resumed rallying after the recent price correction and I feel it will touch 20k quite soon probably during the first half of Jan 2018. Exciting times indeed. Better to buy bitcoin now when its value is low since I feel it will double in value by this time next year.

everybody can predict bitcoin futures but no one of them can provide the exact predictions regarding bitcoin futures but i expect bitcoin will more good for upcoming year even more bitcoin users will good because it will makes bitcoin will be more popular and i wish will more government to accept bitcoin and legalized it

Bitcoin’s future hopefully it will be successful due to the high demand of value nowadays of bitcoin. As long as the value will be maintained and it will not goes down and many users will use it, probably the bitcoin’s future is very bright, indeed.

As of now, I see how the bitcoin works. From time to time, bitcoin price moves upward and it is possible that someday bitcoin dominates the world. Hi there Tomjames! Currently, the bitcoin future by the Chicago Board Options Exchange is trading with its ticker XBT. At first, their trading platform half twice which affect the traders in surge of buying the futures however, after several hours the price soar to more than 18k it definitely go on top of the current bitcoin price.  Then eventually at the time of this posting, the price play around $17.5k.  It could be good for the traders and miners. The good thing to miners is that even the price drop they could be pay based on the contract but when the price goes rogue and high, that will benefit the traders most.  ;)

This is not true, who really care about segwit 2 fork,,, There will be more hard forks in 2018, all those hard forks will never get good pricing as there are too many unneccessary forks.

It will be more exposed than today then every transactions of bitcoin will become more strict the price will be more stable but it's hard to get bitcoin in the future because they will going to become strict. So keep buying now.

 In my opinion, putting futures on liquid exchanges increases the likelihood of the US Securities and Exchange Commission to approve a stock exchange Bitcoin fund (ETF). This would attract more money to the already crowded market.
  At the same time, it is possible for institutional investors, who are negative about the prospects of a Bitcoin, to use the futures market to put money in that direction.
  Growth in the futures market places the Bitcoin more as a raw material than as a currency, and more so as an investment asset than as a technology that has the potential to change the finances.

Honestly I am not an economic guy, I dont even know why we need futures, let alone bitcoin futures
Why do we have to trade its future price when we can trade it at its current price? It's all money game created by wallstreet wolf too make small investors get wrecked LOL

But from the positive side, we can have more and more adoption by its listing as more investors are joining

IMO, Bitcoin ETFs will be having more impact on the exchange rates when compared to the Bitcoin futures. Because ETFs can increase the demand for Bitcoins, while with futures the situation is more balanced with the abundance of short-sellers. Hopefully, the first Bitcoin ETF will be approved sometime in Q1 or Q2 2018, and that will result in a spike in the prices.

I am not really great in predicting what will happen on bitcoin's future, but as I have observed this flunctuations in bitcoin's price is economically healthy. I think it is seasonal. It is Christmas and people tend to withdraw to prepare and to give their loveones some gift, however it dumped a lot and I am hoping for it to pump after this season.

It will definitely become a million dollar worth let us just wait for it to happen, be patient. Bitcoin will finally adapt by all other countries they are just observing the possible outcome of it, and how they will finally adapt it and adjust to go with the flow of economic circulation so they will know how much money is circulating in it.

For now, the launch of bitcoin in the first half of the year actually helped keep bitcoin rising for the first half of the year, but now it's not reasonable to have a small drop every day.

Based in my own opinion, I think Bitcoin still have a lot of things to offer to us and its future is most probably stable since more and more people have been registering to use it.

As long as they remain cash settled, which they are as far as I know, they are pretty irrelevant. Cash-settled futures are futures that don't require actual physical delivery of the underlying asset, which would be bitcoin in this case, but rather settling the associated position with cash, for example, dollars. Therefore, I don't think they are going to affect bitcoin prices in any significant degree if at all.

Nobody know what will be the future. But i am sure nothing will stay exist all the time. Will come the where everything down. Now speak about this year only, bitcoin is more popular and increase the price.

This is actually a big point that I didn't think of beforehand. This would have a big effect on the actual impact that futures would be having on the marketplace, and if it is true that they're cash-settled then there's going to be no real movement from the market aside from speculation and normal volatility.

It almost feels like cheating, to be honest. Not having to deliver a commodity and instead of covering the positions with a cash reimbursement? Seems like gambling and speculating on numbers more than a real investment or option.

Welcome to reality, bro! This is what the best part of the derivatives markets, be it gold, oil, or whatever, consists of. As you said, it is essentially gambling or even cheating, and real merchants, vendors as well as producers have to use special techniques such as hedging to get rid of the speculative part of respective markets. Hopefully, this is not the case with bitcoin so far. At least, not until both cash-settled and physical delivery futures are traded together at the same exchanges.

Right now market participants can tell real bitcoins from imaginary ones. That's the reason why the latter ain't going to affect bitcoin prices significantly.

I don't really see the point of this.  If you want to participate in the upside (or downside) of Bitcoin without having actual exposure to holding cryptocurrency, then you shouldn't be in this space in the first place.

Regardless, most people are in bitcoin exclusively for profits anyway, which are counted in dollars, euro, or whatever. When you are not exposed to holding real coins, you are not in that "space" by definition. Well, that's how I myself see it. Apart from that, if you are in for the downside of bitcoin, you are not exposed to holding any coins either if I got your point correctly. Do you refer to shorting bitcoin as being in the downside ?

I initially thought the bitcoin futures will let the bitcoin price is relatively stable, but for now, when the bitcoin futures on-line, so the price of the bitcoin looks more like a be manipulated.

Only mass adoption will eventually lead to a stable market, and even when that happens manipulation will be possible, as it is possible on stocks, that are very liquid. That's why they have very strict regulation, to try to prevent there, and even with that, manipulation happens, so we will hardly ever have a completely free of manipulation market.

With futures, the market manipulation actually increased in my opinion, because we know have big sharks in an unregulated pool, full of fishes like us. It's a feast for them, and they will take advantage of that while they can. We can't fight them unless we hold our coins, and more people start moving in. Even all their money is less than the money of entire populations buying into the market. So only when mass adoption occurs, we will have a stable market.

Oh the XBT, since its announcement in December 18 I think, there are thousands of volume traded, but after that its price continue to fall the same time bitcoin price fall. But after Feb 5, its price spikes and recover again just then again the bitcoin price. So basically, I can see XBT is a good option to be traded by those who need a more large and secure trading accounts. However, because it is more regulated and possibly taxable which ended in lesser income.

I somewhat disagree with this stance. While more investors will certainly make bitcoin more expensive, I'm not sure that this will make it more powerful. Speculative capital poured in bitcoin will only contribute to its volatility, and volatility is not synonymous with being strong and powerful. Investors are okay, but what bitcoin really needs is adoption, not speculation. These dudes are mostly profit-oriented anyway, and they will quickly withdraw their capital if something wrong should happen to crypto.

no one knows about the real future of bitcoin, but in my own prediction, as times goes by, bitcoin population are still growing and still growing.

Lol, the last few posters seem not to have a clue what the whole topic is all about. It is not about bitcoin future, it is about bitcoin futures. Though I agree that both these categories, despite them being completely different animals, look pretty weak and bleak right now. By the way, does anyone know what's become of these futures? Do they still trade them? Somehow, I doubt they are in high demand these days.

Can't say anything about it right now.I watched the price in December and came to know its about to die. When its start decreasing i thought its just a temporary and it will be cover soon day by day it decreases more. Seriously i was not expected that bitcoin will dump enough and become 6k from 20k. But as it is volatile so I can't give my 100% guaranty that it will die in future no one can predict its price and its future. We have to sit and wait for its price till the end of the year

In my opinion, Bitcoin in future will be increase the price, because of bitcoin our life have change from time until income, the future of bitcoin is full of success because the value is increasing so fast, it has great future, it has lot of advantages, lot of people interest it, many of involve it.many of invest it, I also think that bitcoin will have a good future and it will grow up in future like it will become currency that can exchange in all valuable things, I honestly believe, Decentralization is just beginning and there is a lot of improvement in the way, Bitcoin is very popular now they continue  increasing his followers and lot's of investors are wanted to join in bitcoin to invest, For me i think btc future is totally going to a good condition, and i wish bitcoin will grow up and being successful in near future.

I see that huge majority of the people in this thread didn't understand what bitcoin futures mean. It's like that unfortunately with everything, there are clueless people who think they will be millionaires overnight

No one can predict whats the future of bitcoin ethier it is good or bad but in my opinion bitcoin in the future have a lot of possibility to happen..Were aiming good future in bitcoin let's stay positive....

it would be better if we did not talk about the future. buy bitcoin and hold, then sell as usual. we do daily trading with a very thorough analysis. the price of the day, and the calculation of prices for the next few days. it's more like talking about a distant future.

well i think bitcoin futures will exist in the major markets because most rich guys don't understand Bitcoin and they don't want to work together and I believe that bitcoin futures will help to lower its volatility, We think that everybody and everywhere,  every company it accept in future.

well according to me i Think the future of bitcoin is very bright. cuz not everytime the bitcoins dump so bad also its price spike up. moon rocketing as if you know bitcoin reaches 7k to 20K in just 3 weeks

anyway there's no correlation between spot market and future market as many people say.
