Title: Litecoin vs. Bitcoin Cash
Post by: Weider on December 18, 2017, 07:22:44 AM
Hello guys. Which currency you prefer? I don't have any of them and I am thinking about investing in one of them. Which will have bigger success?

Or you think I should invest in original Bitcoin? Is Bitcoin Core planning to solve scalability issue anytime soon?

I would spread around all of them.

Eventually bitcoin will solve the scalability problems, but the others will pave the way and be a test ground. Especially coins like litecoin.

LTC has grown pretty fast in dollar price past week. Here below you can see good comparison between BTC, LTC, BCH and DASH.

I prefer Litecoin to Bcash, but there are much more innovative altcoins. Litecoin is basically just a copy-paste of Bitcoin. I'm happy to trade its occasional pump cycle, but it's incredibly painful to hold historically. Once the bull market is over, get as far away from LTC as you can.

It sounds like you are considering "investment" in Bcash. I'd reconsider. Think about why Bitcoin is valuable: its network. So there is very high demand and a very limited supply. Bcash doesn't have that network value. It's got a few big names pushing it, but that's it. Cheap transactions obviously aren't drawing Bitcoin's network to switch to Bcash.

Core's been fighting the good fight for years. Now that Segwit is active, Lightning transactions are being tested on the mainnet. I think we're looking at exponential scaling mechanisms inside of a year or two. Pretty amazing.

When segwit 2x + off-chain improvement through the lightning network will be implemented. But I don't know when that will be happening in the future. Litecoin and bitcoin cash just improvements version of the bitcoin with better scalability. But the bitcoin still become the main actor in the crypto. When community will be deciding to do another fork and it may help the bitcoin to fix its scalability problem.

neither of them are really currencies because you can not spend them on actual things!
and both can be good and can be terrible at times. you need to work on your timings. buy before the pump and sell before it ends and then you can say you have made a good investment. i doesn't matter which coin that is.

Or you think I should invest in original Bitcoin?
you should always have some investment in bitcoin no matter what!

does it matter? LOL. it seems not. although i believe in the long run scaling may bite bitcoin in the ass but in short term it doesn't matter it seems like!

If we look at those two altcoin, I prefer investing in Litecoin because for me it has a higher success than Bitcoin Cash. Here's why I don't think Bitcoin Cash have a higher success, BCH don't have segwit, and it is a hard fork coin and huge of its supply is pre mined that is cheating while Litecoin started from scratch and still faster to transact compared to Bitcoin Cash. But overall I would still choose to invest in Bitcoin, yes core developers are trying to solve scalability issues, they implemented segwit to reduce the transaction fee and to make it faster to transfer but still not enough, now they are working with lightning network and hopefully it solves the problem that we are all waiting for.

Investing in bitcoin is normally the best choice when it comes to crypto, since it's the coin with the best dev team behind them. Also, if bitcoin fails other will probably fail as well. Investing in an altcoin might be a great option for fast profit, because given to their still low price, they probably have a lot or margin to grow.
About making a choice between bcash and litecoin, I have no doubts about going for litecoin. It has amazing growth portencial, is listed on coinbase, has a good dev, and let's nor forget that is already testing lightning network as well. Bcash is going all in on the short term, and all they seem to be doing right now is increasing the blocksize, and now they seem to be creating a credit card. They want mass adoption, and they want it now. They are ahead of bitcoin in terms of fees and speed, I wont argue with that, but they will probably have a fast death, as soon as the lightning network gets deployed. So even if they win the race now, other coins will still take their lead in the future, so I don't think they are a good investment.

I would prefer litecoin over bitcoin cash. I personally like litecoin developer. He always talk realistically. Calling out mistakes and truths. By the way bitcoin cash stands good but not good enough to beat bitcoin.

Litecoin all the way, not a hard decision at all.

LTC's been around for ages, it's proven the test of time.
After all these years it still has an community backing it up and active development on it.
It is widely accepted and the most important part, it is widely used to directly trade into fiat and also can be used to directly buy alts (instead of converting to btc first then buying).

Now BCH, hmmmmmmm, born out of a fork of btc that not didn't have community consensus.
Developers using all kind of shady tactics to "overthrow" bitcoin.
Fails, so artificially pumps the price.
No one believes or supports it but uses it just to get a quick buck.

So, which one do you think has a better future?
The actual price of coin is like the 5th thing you should consider when trying to pick a coin that has value.

Is in it to late to invest in BTC? I bought some 4 years ago for $124/each and I sold it for profit not even $100. So I am still pissed and feel like idiot buying now for almost $20k.

Correct assessment. In fact, Litecoin is the obvious choice for me against Bitcoin Cash. It has Segwit, it will have lightning network, it will have atomic swapping, and who knows what next? It keeps moving along at the rate of "fast" when it comes to development, while Bitcoin Cash is too busy making political moves and marketing. Litecoin also has a very positive community, closer to that of Bitcoin, and makes no enemies. Bitcoin Cash wants to be aggressive, with us or against us. I cannot abide by that type of attitude, really. Litecoin is more honest, drama free. What happens when BCH folks disagree one day? Another quick fork?

Litecoin and bitcoin cash has lots of similarity like low transaction fees, both are only used for payment and doesn't offer smart contract feature but litecoin is pretty old than bitcoin cash. I will rather trust LTC with my money than bitcoin cash which is basically backed by few millionaires who can easily dump all their free BCH on our buy orders.

Or you think I should invest in original Bitcoin? Is Bitcoin Core planning to solve scalability issue anytime soon?
Yeah there is plan for lightening network which will allow off chain transactions with almost zero fees.

According to me Litecoin and bitcoin cash both are looking good and you need to invest your capital into diversifying portfolio rather than in anyone.Litecoin is been increasing and gaining strong demand from past three weeks and it is the right time to invest over there as there is still more space left over there.I have been wondering whether you are tracking them regularly or not because chances of entries will come on dips and I request you to invest at that time.Apart from litecoin and bitcoin cash, i request you to invest in Neocoin, Dash, Zcash where the demand is similar to litecoin and bitcoin cash.

Litecoin is underrated and is considered as a testing coin for bitcoin though it has been said by others, I'll prefer to get into Litecoin than bitcoin cash. Bitcoin cash isn't unique and is manipulated by many of it's whales backed out there which is just a product of a hard fork and litecoin is just a simple coin that also offers lower fees and it's still one of the best altcoins that you can choose but with bitcoin cash, it's a no for me.

Totally agree with this.  Litecoin is the original solution to the Bitcoin scaling problem.  I sometimes wonder if Litecoin would be worth more if it kept the Bitcoin name like the BCash folks did.  There really isn't a reason to have BCash since we already have Litecoin.

There are test before that was about to be done for bitcoin but litecoin did the testing and it was successful on it. We can't blame and stop those people who are keep on promoting bcash because of their own purpose to let the people know that their coin will be the next bitcoin or whatever they call it. Litecoin is even admirable than BCH and well this is cryptomarket everything is existing.

You have a point on that. BCH, I think is still not mature in the market unlike LTC. So there's a chance that BCH will be gone in an instant once those rich holders decided to get rid of their bch. I believe btc is still worth investing as this is the frontrunner of all cryptocurrencies.

Just make up your mind and focus on a digital currency that really gives you real big profit. Yes, there are altcoins who are making some big run early this december but you have to see it for yourself if it will really continue next year or it is just a pump and dump scheme that's going on. On the other hand, bitcoin seems too be tireless in its price hike. So it's up to you where your money should go.

To be honest. I really hate bitcoincash. Literally. I never even bothered to get my free share of bitcoincash to this day. I just see it as a total overpriced shitcoin. Which is why i do not supoort it(but it still is better that btg though). Litecoin on the other hand, is a pretty great coin with a very huge potential to be bigger and bigger as time gies by. I thunk litecoin is a pretty good gamble.

But still. Bitcoin is best to invest in. Since i am hearing rumors that bitcoin is getting a fix in terms of scaling and fees. Not so sure about this though.

Jan Haipo, founder of ViaBTC, compared Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin. In his interview for Bitcoin.com, Haipo spoke about the advantages that Bitcoin Cash will be able to compete with Litecoin as a payment tool. According to him, BCH has more active supporters than LTC. Having seen such a wide user base, crypto-currency wallets and exchangers will launch Bitcoin Cash to attract it.

Jan Haipo: Bitcoin Cash may well occupy the niche of Litecoin Also, according to Haypo, only BCH can now provide the most adaptive block size, Litecoin also needs to increase it to at least 100 megabytes. In addition, he noted that all crypto-currencies are separate brands, each of which needs competent promotion. The creation of Bitcoin Cash Fund will allow us to more effectively deal with the marketing part of the process. Haypault does not think that BCH can have problems with promotion because of the lack of an official logo, like that of LTC. He believes that this is temporary, and so far the community simply needs to agree on what it will be like

both litecoin and bitcoin cash have the same chance of getting success but we don't know when is coming. I prefer to invest litecoin of 60% and 40% in bitcoin cash and you need to invest too in bitcoin too. I think bitcoin core will fix something to solve the problem that we faced it.

Well, seeing at Bitcoin Cash is worth 7x that of LTC right now, and that LTC is climbing VERY quickly, you could buy more LTC with your investment money and gain a lager profit if they both stayed rising at the same pace as they have been. I did notice both have increased a bit over the last couple days, but for the person who has less to invest, LTC is the obvious choice.

Sooner or later Bitcoin will solve all its problems (transaction fees, speed, scalability) and then Litecoin/Bcash will disappear quickly.

For me,  i would like to chooce bch in terms of stabiity of pumping of price in the market,  because in litecoin the price hike of this coin is slow to got/earn profits although the long term of this investment project is already exist and proven from the time of its publish. But the more potential to earn a good profits is in the bch,  or you better to switch in the original bitcoin for more better result.

I think LTC is enough for low txn fee and its high speed for transactions. Bcash is just a quick get rich project from Roger Ver and his friends. LTC has a great future when people realize how usefull it is.

Agreed.  Lightning Network and Atomic Swaps coming soon with LTC development team.  Roger Ver's worst nightmare.

I think ehtereum is best option compare to BCH and LTC both can dump any time more than 100% or the same amount of Pump . Ethereum is slowly increasing and its growth is study check the price chart . I think ethereum and waves are best option compare to LTC and BCH.

Both of them are good coins with huge development in 2017. But with my personal though, Bitcoin cash is better to get profit than Litecoin. It is predicted can replace Bitcoin in the future

BCash can be used only for the speculative purposes and that, very carefully. With this coin and his creator Roger Ver everything isn't simple, any transparency. A half masternods are located in AliBaba Group cloud, and it means that they are under control to one group of people and can disappear at any time. On Github to a branch of this coin the activity of community of developers is extremely small, it means that nobody is going to enhance it. It is traded too actively at the exchanges, under control and affiliated with her creators, it means that the imaginary trade activity is simulated. Has no opportunity based on its blockchain to create sidechain, smart contracts, etc. For its public relations dirty methods in media are actively used.
As opposed to it, litecoin which is completely decentralized, with strong community, the stable and successful coin which is constantly enhanced, checked by time and society.

Roger Ver did not create Biotcoincash

There are at least 7 development teams.

It can create sidechains as easily as any blockchain.

smart contracts,
Op codes are being re introduced. Bitcoin core removed them. these will enable smart contracts etc.

Hello guys. Which currency you prefer? I don't have any of them and I am thinking about investing in one of them. Which will have bigger success?

Or you think I should invest in original Bitcoin? Is Bitcoin Core planning to solve scalability issue anytime soon?
my opinion is 7 tx/s is ridiculously, hilariously low, the fact that I once had to pay a $50 fee to move my money (when i held BTC) is insane, the energy usage is unsustainable. and the development direction is questionable - if BTC had upped blocksize to 8MB nobody would have died, fees would not have rose crazily like they did, BCH would never have happened, LTC would have no reason to compete, BTC would be seen as a more viable currency.

I'm a Nano fan - fast, free, and as scalable as it gets pre-sharding - only issue is whether there is enough incentive to run a rep, and whether a system will evolve to spread the vote allotment of reps (currently a few dev reps have >50% of voting power because they are the default reps in current wallets, which is centralization, but people are free to choose other reps and decentralize it - and my bet is they will over time) which we will see. with the tech of nano available, and BTC still not adopted most places (and actually losing adoption sometimes), i see nano or similar as inevitable.

if you are all about direct incentives, ETH will be cheap, fast and sustainable once PoS and sharding come through.

XLM is a strong contender as well, very cheap and fast (bad investment at the moment in my opinion due to large supply in control of creators)

i also think privacy features may be necessary for true censorship resistance. nano and BTC doesn't have that, but if you want full censorship resistance, you may be inclined to go with Monero.

basically, I think BTC has a lot of competition with huge advantages compared to BTC, and BTC's network effect is not large enough to prevent them from taking over.

i dont really get what you mean by "be gamed at a low market cap".

The sharp increase in the cost of the Ethereum crypto currency last year was noticed by almost everyone, and it's not strange, because we watched more than 100 times the increase in the price of the air. But, Litecoin's crypto currency showed not much less growth, and set its maximum at $ 372.
In my opinion,  Litecoin is a weak coin and there are no great prospects! it is better to still choose bitcoin cash!
