Title: What do you think about Stellar (XLM)?
Post by: silenthawk on December 23, 2017, 03:22:18 AM
Stellar has increased dramatically and currently ranks 13th on coinmarketcap, its current price is only $ 0.2.
In the top 15 only XLM and NEM are priced less than 1$
Do you think stellar will rise to 1$ by 2018?

Stellar is a decentralized, hybrid blockchain that is fully open-source. It is infrastructure that exists to facilitate cross-asset transfers of value, including payments. With just one integration into the Stellar Network, you will join an open, global financial network where all actors – be they people, payment networks, or banks – have equal access & economic participation.

I think newcomers to the crypto world will jump on one of these coins just because they are cheap, thinking they will rise and will be worth a lot and they will ignore the quantity of it. But, overall, the projects are good and have potential. You won't lose money if you invest in them.

Great post that sums up what are XML, as for OP please consider reading what is coin about and don't simply jump on the price and try to earn some money - profit is nice I don't say it isn't. But what is more fulfill if you get to know the projects, get to know community and try to help out not just simply because of money that will bring.

I am actually eyeing for this coin to invest this 2018. I've heard good news about Stellar in the past few days and considering its price now that is less than a dollar, I think it is worth a try investing in this coin.

This coin is a small price but if many capitalizations will be felt once the effect. If you only invest a very small does not feel the results obtained because it tends to rise but is not increasing rapidly.

XLM is mostly just following XRP, and when XRP goes up, XLM goes up, and when it goes down, XLM goes down, and I don't think that XLM is going to go beyond XRP, so I'm not good at it.

I think Stellar is a good coin, the price is low, and has potential to rise higher.
It's a coin that almost anyone can invest in with a small amount.

It looks very high likely. I have some and I try to buy a bit more. Its technology is very solid and it is starting to hold another good coins on it. Recently Smartlands managed their ICO on stellar platform. So if others start to use it for their ICO it can be more popular and more valued.

It is decentralized. I tried stellar when i was still a beginner here in the field, I do profit some from it coz i bought some when it is still low and it grows and sold it then it goes down quickly.

It is infrastructure that exists to facilitate cross-asset transfers of value, including payments. Thus its technology looks very , its demand and use will increase in coming days, so Steller will touch 1$ easily in next 5-6 months.

Stellar is a network that connects banks, payment systems, and people. Lumens are the native asset for the Stellar network. With that being said, I like Stellar because even if cryptocurrencies are regulated, banks will continue to use the Stellar network because it is far superior, faster, and more cost-effective than current payment systems. With government regulation the big word around the cryptocurrencies in 2018, Stellar is probably the safest pick on the market right now.

i never liked the model that Stellar used. specially the distribution. it is a centralized coin with a terrible distribution technique. i remember them asking for your facebook log in before they even allowed  you to begin claiming your tokens and that is a terrible invasion of privacy from a cryptocurrency which is supposed to be respecting the privacy and try to remain decentralized!

You must be thinking of Ripple (XRP). Ripple has the same founder, who fixed the centralization problem with Ripple, by developing entirely new code for the Stellar network, making it truly decentralized. You must have downloaded a wallet from a third party developer as Stellar knows 0 information about me, with the exception of maybe my IP address. The Stellar Wallet is 100% free and asks for 0 personal information. Also, Lumens aren't a token, they are a coin.

Got a few hundred that i won't touch before the 1$ mark, but i doubt i'll invest any more in it.
Too much in circulation for the price to rise dramatically.
Good project though, with promising partnerships. Both XLM and XRP are decent investments for 2018, and i'm 100% they will 5x by the EOY.
We shall see.

If you want to make money quickly, then Stellar (XLM) is not very suitable for this. Its course is very hesitant. I've been watching it for a long time. These are strong fluctuations. If you are planning an investment for at least six months, then you must buy it. This coin will show growth, since the project is powerful and a good team.

Strong fluctuations? Not really. The coin has been stable for a crypto over the past few weeks.
I wouldn't hope for it to 10x soon though, too many XLM in circulation for that to happen any time soon.
We could hit the 1$ milestone soon-ish though

The upgraded version of the Starbucks, which is based on the Swiss coin, has also begun various large-scale developments. XLM has made many improvements on the basis of technology, especially related consensus mechanisms and verification algorithms. The performance of the star network operating nodes has been improved, and the demand for node resources is very low. Among the many improvements, the biggest change is the stellar payment system's support algorithm SCP (Stellar Consensus Protocol), which is known as "the safest kind of Byzantine algorithm at the moment." The stellar payment network uses the stellar currency as the base currency. The user can transfer any currency, including USD, EUR, RMB, Yen, or Bitcoin through it. This is easy and fast, and the transaction confirmation can be completed within a few seconds. 50% are distributed to the world through direct distribution programs, 25% are allocated to non-profit organizations through increased coverage plans to give financial services to people who lack, 20% are allocated through Bitcoin plans, and 5% are kept as operating expenses stellar coins.

This is what I think of Stellar. I am currently invested so keep that in mind. Alike NEO at the early stages, it has lots of potential and does not have a large amount of utility at the current moment. I am invested largely due to FairX and I love the ICO platform being built on it. Whether it fails or not, I believe in the project and I believe it will grow exponentially if it is successful.

Stellar Lumens or commonly known as XLM value units, is one of the Blockchain-based Open-Source platforms as in common crypto currencies, such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC) and 1320 Altcoin. Currently Stellar Lumens (XLM) occupies the 13th position of a total of 1320 crypto currencies that are now scattered throughout the world. Stellar has been able to have a Total Market Rating of over $ 4 billion, just within 3 years of its creation. In my opinion, XLM is a very good investment coin with good quality, has many advantages and a team of experienced developers. I see the future of lumens stars very bright.

Stellar is a completely decentralized project, which, compared to Ripple, attracted investors very much. The developers of the Stellar network took into account the errors of the makers of Ripple and made the correct distribution of coins. Another aspect that can attract attention to the platform is the possibility of creating new tokens, on the basis of Stellar it will be possible to conduct ICO, and in the plans of developers, to take part of the audience of Ether to itself. Based on these considerations, I believe that the price may even exceed $1.

But, The future of Stellar is I guess very bright,  Stellar is a network that connects banks, payment systems, and people.

It means very close with our actual life environment, So if crypto currencies are regulated, banks will continue to use the Stellar network.

Therefore, Whether Stellar is exist it would valuable.

Stellar is one of the most promising tokens. Stellar protocol is more secure than Ethereum’s platform. Stellar has micropayment functionality, and the ability to handle 4000 transactions per second. Stellar aims to let you transact in your currency of choice (fiat or digital). The hope is that the currency itself will be mostly a behind-the-scenes currency and that the Stellar network will help provide more liquidity between currencies. The only problem I see with them is the total supply, it's just too much!

Well, just like every digital currency is unpredictable, you can't be so sure. But definitely it will be higher because Stellar is another prominent coin that has a good future. I don't want to compare it to Ripple because every coin is unique on it own. But just know that they are similar a bit in the sense that their transactionscan be instantly and with next to zero fees (this is the reason why most people are investing in it).

I think they have been created by the original founder of ripple which can only be a good thing if you look at the success ripple has went on to have. Stellar for me is miles better because it promises almost the same transaction times whilst being decentralised unlike ripple. They also aim to bank the unbanked which is a noble challenge

Wow... what the hell happened to the quality of this forum? None of the people who replied here have any clue to the background of Stellar and what it is actually doing.

Stellar is OWNED by Jed. It's not decentralized, it's a copy of Ripple tech in the most intimate detail. It's not a mistake, it is owned by him directly, through a so called non-profit, which is actually a for profit organization. They did a so called XLM user reward a while ago, where most of the coins ended up in the account of Jed's company because that is how the reward was designed.

Except for IBM, which no one knows exactly what is actually doing with Stellar, there are no other partnerships. Not with banks, not with anyone else.

All of the technology in Stellar is copied line by line from Ripple, renamed and inserted in Stellar as brand new developments. When Jed left Ripple, he tried to bring the whole project down by dumping XRP on the market and hurt the company as much as possible, which lead to a lawsuit that he lost with Ripple. The "Stellar Consensus Protocol" is actually the renamed Ripple consensus protocol.

Some dude said in the comments that they took the errors from Ripple and improved the distribution of tokens. So... that is why Jed's "non-profit" owns the majority of coins? What are you talking about people???

I used to come to this place to find reasonable and good information and great people, with the occasional FUD and disinformation. Now it has turned into a regular P&D forum, where everyone is pushing everyone to buy their coin.

Stellar is based on a consensus algorithm instead of mining. this means transactions confirm in a few seconds.
The supply of lumen increases at a hard and fast fee of one% a year.

Stellar reaffirms the integration of the Lightning Network by the end of 2018.
The Lightning payment will give XLM the following advantages:

- Can be confirmed immediately
- There are no fees
- Not open
So I think last year Stellar will have amazing growth stages.

the market value of XLM will naturally increase. First of all, this is due to the increasing popularity of the crypto currency. It is already clear that the developers have really succeeded in creating a more reliable, convenient and, most importantly, decentralized version of Ripple.Obviously, with each new major investor and each contract entered into, the demand for XLM will grow. Accordingly, the price of the coin will also increase.

I think it would be hard for XLM to reach $1 price this year because if you do the math just multiply $1 to available supply which is 18B  and you get the total of $18B dollar. I doubt if the other altcoins will accept that easily that they have been overtake by stellar lumen.

By investing your savings in Stellar's cryptocurrency, do not expect to get a big profit in a month, because this project is more long-term, and to win fans, he will have to work a little more. I am of the opinion that investing in the Stellar project, you will need to forget about your wallet for at least 2 years. This, perhaps, will be the best solution.

I am contributed to a great extent because of FairX and I cherish the ICO stage being based on it. Regardless of whether it comes up short or not, I have confidence in the undertaking and I trust it will develop exponentially in the event that it is fruitful.

Stellar (also called XLM), or Lumens, is an electronic currency developed on the Blockchain platform to raise capital for global transaction development projects, particularly banks with high security and extremely low transaction costs.
Stellar is built on the Stellar Consensus Protocol. It is the base currency in the network of consensus among network nodes, with supply increasing by 1% per year.

Yes, I think Stellar is quite a promising coin, which can quickly increase in price when the market starts to grow again. It has good functional indicators and, given the low cost of this coin, it is now quite attractive for investment. Of course, it can increase fivefold by the end of this year. because there are many other good coins that will become rivals up to the top of the coinmarketcap.

Stellar (XLM) is always one of my favorite coins so far.
This altcoin has the interesting platform and progress. It is trusted, having big volume, and also offering the nice future of the platform work. We can make some profits from this coin.
I'm starting to get interested with Stellar but I still don't have it until now. After the adoption and inclusion that blockchain.com made to this coin I think it really has impacted the coin. Stellar isn't exempted for the market dip that we experience.

1 $ this year? I think it's impossible. I have suffered losses due to holding XLM. Slow rise, sharp drop. I think XLM for 1 $ will take 2 more years.

I think Stellar has a very good development project, their developers provide highly sophisticated products and technologies for their users or consumers. It is evident from the very long established stellar technology that can still survive today and many still use stellar.

In the top 15 only XLM and NEM are priced less than 1$
Do you think stellar will rise to 1$ by 2018?
Well, stellar as strange in 2018 on the contrary did not fall much relative to bitcoin , but on the contrary increased its capitalization and I think that in the future it can easily reach $1

XLM is close to its 10 months low (in SATs) in Binance. It has now been bleeding for more than 2 months starting from 11/20/2018. Right now, it is still tracking close to its past behaviors (i.e. 2+ months of bleeding and then sudden rise), but I would be wary if this continues on for more than a couple of weeks. Perhaps this time, it might be a more prolonged descent.

XLM one of my fav coins.
Fast transactions, very cheap. Great infrastructure, and exchanges.

About price above 1$ it depends at market situation. XLM itself won´t rich 1$ in 2018. Only if total market will make x3-x5.

I always paid attention to this project, first of all I was always surprised by its ability to withstand the market and keep the price stable. Throughout 2018, STELLAR showed the unheard of stability of its coin. Yes, the price fell, but not as much as the others. Stellar gave up its position only a few months ago, but all the same such a behavior is impressive.

The price of $ 1 is the highest benchmark price of the XLM coin and it will definitely happen again when the price of the main coin has risen very high again but if that does not happen, it is not possible for XLM to rise to high even though there is big news because the development of coins is also very good but it still does not affect prices on the market.

Besides that Stellar also operates networks with blockchain technology such as Bitcoin. and Stellar used to be popular, and now he can grow again and maybe in the future he can become more popular.

Stellar is a good coin to hold and its success lies not only in partnerships but also funding from Stripe.

stellar is good but I don't like long-term investments. holding on for too long is not good, I once lost because I bought XLM last year. like this altcoin stellar is still unable to withstand the impact of the decline in bitcoin prices. so it is very long-held holding when the price of bitcoin is still falling.

but for short-term tranding I think Stellar is good and can generate profits in a short time.

Everything depend on market. Now every coin is on their downfall. I think if anyone want to invest on Stellar(XLM)should think about a long term investment. Market will take time to recover the golden coins of crypto than other coin will start to improve. So,think about a long term investment when you are going to buy XLM

I never tried Stellar platform yet, but this exchange was one of the decentralized platform where you can able to make some trade anytime you want.  And their blockchain  platform also can be use by some new ico token to promote their project as well. And also for me it has a potential to reach 1$ although we do not know when is that possible to be happen.

Stellar Lumens is also one of the great cryptocurrencies in the crypto market and also a very nice portfolio to invest into. The price of XLM is very down at the moment and i guess this is the right opportunity to invest into it. We are already in 2019 and the price of stellar is still very low. Although, this is due to the current market situation, which affects so many coins in the market. Even the newly lunched coins are affected.
The issue i have with XLM is that it is centralized, which makes it not to suit the main agenda and purpose of blockchain. This could be more reason it is experiencing some pumps and dumps.
Despite that, i still see it with the possibility of bringing some profits to its holders, but might also be affected by a lot of factors.

I am looking at XLM's previous big runs and there were always some positive momentum before the big run. For example, in the one week that preceded the last big run, there was a slow incremental increases in SATs over a span of 3-7 days before it went up like 35-40%. And in the previous runs, we saw something like this as well. I suspect that there is no point in getting into XLM right now if you are a trader and you can just wait until it shows recovery and perhaps buy stop limit higher than like 10% of its current price. I seriously think that if XLM breaks 3000 SATs, it will not be a fake out so you don't have to worry about losing value from the stop limit buys.

I think the low price because they (Stellar) are doing big airdrop worth $125M. So the XLM price was dumped and BTC dump also effect to XLM price.

It's hard to believe if it could come back to $ 1 this year, if that comes to me, I think that bitcoin has surpassed $ 20k. So I want to talk about the value of the project more, I know that one of the founders of Stellar is also co-founder of XRP, so I believe its future is very bright.

- It is one of the best coins or not, I dare not confirm that problem but if you say it is a coin with value is very stable in many different market conditions, that's really something I agree when the history of stellar proved it very clearly. But maybe I will never invest in it because as you say, the price of stellar is very difficult to increase, it always needs a very long time to receive the pump, pouring money and time into it will not be a wise choice, we still have many other options and better in the crypto market

XLM is a standout amongst the most encouraging tokens. Excellent convention is more secure than Ethereum's stage. Excellent has micropayment usefulness, and the capacity to deal with n number of exchanges every second. Stellar intends to give you a chance to execute in your cash of decision.

The expectation is that the cash itself will be for the most part an in the background money and that the Stellar system will help give greater liquidity between monetary forms. The main issue I see with them is the all out supply, it's simply excessively.

I think Stellar is a great project and should be very good to hold long-term for the future. Like most alts it does look underpriced against bitcoin at the moment. I suppose we'll see what happens once BTC growth slows down. Usually the alts take over at that point.
