We are not using pushpool. Pool engine is written in c#, is fast and reliable.

Coinotron advantages:
-  security is our priority, users passwords are hashed and salted
-  we are startup pool, so odds of DDOS attack are at this moment slight
-  anti-cheating score system punishing pool-hooping cheaters
-  long poll support ( mining efficiency raises about 2% )
-  SSL
-  automatic payouts
-  Stratum

How can you join us?
1. Register here: http://www.coinotron.com/coinotron/AccountServlet?action=register
2. Create worker(s)
3. Configure your mining application to point to our server - examples:  http://www.coinotron.com/coinotron/AccountServlet?action=help
4. Start mining

Nice. :)

-  Proportional payouts. For each block generated in our pool we get 50 BTC. Next we split these coins between miners proportionally to amount of work delivered.

-  anti-cheating score system punishing pool-hooping cheaters
So it's not really proportional, or is it? (Can you explain a bit more about your reward system?)

If security is your priority, why don't you use https - at least for register/login, so passwords are not transmitted in plain text?

Here you have exact formula :

Share Score = exp ( C * time span from beginning of the round to share delivery time / round duration )

Payout = 50 * sum( miner’s share scores ) / sum( all miners share scores )

For C = 0 we have Share Score = 1 for each delivered share i.e system is proportional.
When we raise C value, system becomes similar to Slush’s method. Most precious are shares delivered at the end of the round.

Currently we use C = 0 – pool is small, round duration is measured in days.
But when we observe increase of pool-hoopers activity we will set this value to about 6.

Workin on it :)

Today we’ve launched new version of Coinotron.
Now you can mine namecoins!

In few days difficulty in namecoins chain will decrease from 56000 to 23000.
Mining namecoins should be then very profitable.

Is there a JSON API? I've got all of my 3Ghash in your pool and would like to be able to monitor it without logging in.

Any chance of getting more details statistics in the blocks solved page, eg how many shares you contributed and the value received?

The "Current Round Reward" seems to have borked and is just stuck on 0.00000000.  The unconfirmed seems to be updating when a block is solved though.

The "Duration" on the statistics page is wrong as well, eg:

41    16768    2011-07-22 00:28:03    0:31:38    116 to confirm
40    16767    2011-07-22 00:26:17    0:31:38    115 to confirm
39    16757    2011-07-21 23:54:39    0:30:44    105 to confirm
38    16756    2011-07-21 23:49:45    0:30:44    104 to confirm

I was dead serious, why the HELL are you limiting the length of passwords?
I can only think of ONE reasons to such a limit:

1) Storing passwords in clear text (VARCHAR(12) for example)

It's pure idiotic to demand low security for passwords on a site that actually handles any kind of currency - virtual or not.

EDIT: Tried out the site with something really, really low security - "password" is 8 chars.
Then the next issue came up - 20 chars limit for e-mails? WTF?

mynameis@hotmail.com makes exactly 20 chars.

I would suggest you to remove the password limit completly, the username limit is up to you - i don't really care.
And increase the e-mail limit to at least the double for people that actually have long emails.

EDIT2:
Also, learn to santize your inputs to avoid these kind of issues:
http://xkcd.com/327/

Full XSS-vuln on frontpage all pages, no CSRF protection, possible SQL-injection issues.
Really, really, really bad security. No santizing of inputs WHAT so ever. Even possible to register with <script>alert(1);</script> :)

Maybe he uses the same password for the miners (bad idea), which have a limit (I forget what) on length of username+password.

Worker credentials are user-choosen, not using same password.

38    16756    2011-07-21 23:49:45    0:30:44    104 to confirm

More elaborated statistics were planned for this week. I even started to work on graphs. But this rapid growth of pool during last 2 days is just overwhelming. I'm only answering questions, fighting with bugs and resetting passwords :)

The "Current Round Reward" problem looks strange. I’m not observing such behavior on my account. Are you sure that:
-your workers are working,
-your internet browser is refreshing page properly
Try sign off, close your internet browser, start it again, sing in and check if value has changed.

"Duration" bug is annoying but no calculation depends on these values.

Thanks for this info.

The current round issue sorted itself out.   Seems to reoccur every so often but it looks like some sort of delay after a block is solved.

All good :)

what's up with the NMC payouts? Mining solo I would have earned a block in the time that I only get 14nmc on your pool?

edit: not really an accusation, but it seems like they're really low, just looking for any explanation?

You may have caught an unlucky period, Ive been on mining for last day and i can surely tell you overall ive earned more btc than I would have solo'd, so i got a big piece of the luck ;)

There are very fast rounds. Fastest I remember took only 11 seconds!
Maybe you were unlucky to deliver enough shares.
Please email me your username and email address and I will look into it.

People need to put more ghash into the BTC pool at CoinoTron - we're never going to solve a block if it's just me and one 600mhash guy, and we a lot of shares actively submitted that are never going to payout if no one mines BTC. Maybe some people can put 50% of the mhash into BTC? Please!

BTW, the stats are reporting my Mhash incorrectly. It says I have 1.037Ghash but I actually am running (confirmed on my cards and proxy), 3.2ghash/s. What is the averaging time period for the stats mhash/s value?

I appreciate your work shotgun. Actually I'm considering some kind of lonely miner award for you :) or title: the Last of the Mohicans.
You are totally right. People got mad about namecoins. When tomorrow difficulty rise over 100,  “the last will be first, and the first will be last”.
My only hope is that they stay and mine BTC.

Regarding your hashrate. – I see c.a. 2400 in BTC and 300 in NMC. Averaging period is 10 minutes.

Most likely a huge portion will leave after nmc rush however you might want to consider paying some incentive promotional BTC out of your own pocket during the month of july in order to keep users and make things grow onwards after nmc rush.

There's something wrong with the pool server - the miners keep getting empty queues and sitting idle. I've been forced to switch back to BTCguild for the time being until the Coinotron pool servers respond correctly. @ other pools right now I get zero idle time and no empty queues. Kind of starting to feel like I've wasted 1.5 days mining here, which means I've not made 2BTC when I should have. What is going on?

signed up to mine NMC, but GUIminer gives password / username errors. I checked - they are fine. I'm going to take a wild stab and asume that these errors are because GUIminer is looking for the namecoin exe? I think what your help instructions on the site are missing is actually telling people to get the name coin exe and where to place it so that GUIminer can work with it.

I don't have any issues with GUIminer and the 3 pools I am using - just coinotron and NMC mining. Help!

To everybody else:
This pool is INSECURE.

If it had a "instant payout" or similar, i could easily steal your coin's without you even noticing - or worse, spread a worm that stole everybody's coins.
(Not that I would ever to something like that, but i really, really suggest that OP do read a fucking basic course in web security.)

You do realise there isnt an instant payout cause he is fixing up stuff still and manually processing payouts atm ?

Why keep trolling his thread with "if this, then I could do that" situations.

I tried this pool out for the ixcoins support. Unfortunately, I messed up and submitted more than 400 shares to port 8344 before realizing something was wrong. Are these shares lost forever?

I switched it and the shares seems to be going by a ton faster. Weird.

I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't test such scenario so here are my speculations:

When you tried to connect to port 8344 you didn't send any shares but info that you want get new work when new block will be found. Server responded to your miner when there was new block, sending to you new piece of work.
I'm not 100% sure how your miner program handled this situation. But it should rather reject these messages.
In my database first proper share received from you 2011-08-14 00:10:59.890 (assuming your username is zoomerzaos). If you remember when you switched to 8322 this should answer your question.

Today we introduced to our pool support for ixcoins.

Currently difficulty in ixcoins chain is pretty low. So we can mine a lot of coins :)

What is the point of wasting GPU cycles on something, entirely created by the owner of the blockchain, to attempt enriching himself?

It offers *nothing* bitcoin doesn't, it has zero incentive for adaption, all the easy coins were mined & are being distributed like candy on the forum

Plus the owner is under a pseudonym (by a surname that does not exist)
& using a photo of a japanese actor called Hiroyuki Sanada.

Identical to BTC down to the supposed japanese author and front site
At least namecoin has a purpose

Thanks for the response, I just changed the server from ars and forgot to check the port. The miner appeared to be mining, so I left it alone for a while. I'm entirely sure what happened, but given the small amount of shares, it's not a big deal. Nice pool by the way, my stales are much less than 1%.

I'm glad that you like our setup. Currently stales may be even higher than usually because of ixcoin rush. Yesterday shortest round lasted only 16 sec!
Regarding stales we are quite liberal. We accept shares even few seconds after new block. But we don't accept the same work sent twice, works from other pools :) , etc.

2011-08-24 New functions added:

- new worker type: AUTO ( Systems automatically chooses what coin to mine for. There is no need to point your workers to other sites, ports etc. Just choose AUTO option for worker and everything will be done by system! Calculation is based on current exchange rates, difficulties and number of coins generated in blocks. )
- support for SolidCoins
- profitability ratio for each coin type - you see what coin is best to mine
- user interface improvements

On your system I would like  Way to see the shares submitted while on auto. Also It would be cool if you could post the BTC to ALT currency exchange rate directly on the main page, next to the ratio. Most importantly, while the mining is on auto select, an automatic selling feature of the coins mined to ensure that BTC is gained and not lost by missing the sell window. As even if it was more profitable to mine an ALT currency at a specific time, it would be usless if one missed the sell window at the given price that made the mining worthwhile.

shares on auto
I've done it but worked slowly and temporarly turned it off ( There is no index in database to support required select )

BTC to ALT currency exchange rate directly on the main page, next to the ratio
I will add it and probaly I will add difficulty too

Most importantly, while the mining is on auto select, an automatic selling feature of the coins mined to ensure that BTC is gained and not lost by missing the sell window.

You are right. That would be cool option.

You could do it by trading the ALT coins on your own, or a different bitparking account and then posting the coins to our coinotron account. Also since we are on the topic of auto switching mining between coins, how about submitting 1 share to each of the mining pools and then sharing in the bounty of all the pools. It could be thought of as a kind of merged mining without the actual need to merge the block chains.

Other simple options I thought would be great to add; could you include in the 'My Account' screen a count of how many coins have been mined in the last 24 hours. That will give us some ideas as to how our mining is actually doing.

Yes that solution is obvious but has disadvantages. It generates a lot of manual work for pool operator (trading at bitparking, runnung batches, answering all questions relatated to exchange rates. )

Personally I would prefer some kind of automated exchange but since bitparking doesn't provide us with api it is actually not feasible.

Also since we are on the topic of auto switching mining between coins, how about submitting 1 share to each of the mining pools and then sharing in the bounty of all the pools. It could be thought of as a kind of merged mining without the actual need to merge the block chains.

ATM it will not work because client for each blockchain requires different proof of work. As far as I'm know merged mining addresses this issue by changing block acceptance algorithm.

I just checked to see how the pool runs at low difficulty and had confirmed payout "processed" I guess since it was confirmed then removed after it hit payout threshold.

The payout however isnt/didnt reach my wallet after nearly 100blocks now.

OK. You setup everything correctly.
There is small bug in pool. It doesn't harm any rewards or payouts but is confusing.
When rounds are superfast sometimes process which calculates unconfirmed rewards misses them.
So you don't see unconfirmed rewards for these fast rounds. But when block is confirmed, comes second process and calculates confirmed rewards. After that process payouts are being sent.

When you wrote your messages your shares were submitted to these unfortunate rounds. But now blocks are confirmed and payouts are being sent. Please check it out on your profile.

Apologies for the invonvenience.

PS
I’m fighting with this bug  but it is very hard to pin point.

2011-09-13  New features added.

1. New improved version of AUTO worker is available. Now you can choose what coins can be mined using this kind of worker!  For example if you want to enable automated mining only on SC and BTC :
- go to “My account” page
- set checkboxes in column “Auto” for BTC and SC
- deselect other coins
- click “Save” button

2. Realtime calculated hash speed of workers

3. Performance improvements.

How do I get my username of the "statistics" page?

It's easy for hackers if they know at least a username and compare it to a list of passwords (stolen from forums, mtgox, etc).

Disable button (BTCmine does have this) would be nice.

Maybe a nickname and an accountname, so you can still show up in the stats with your nickname without showing your accountname.
Would be safer and still be fun :P

2. For NMC, IXC, I0C, SC added links to multichain block explorer http://blockexplorer.sytes.net/ (http://blockexplorer.sytes.net/)
3. Links to multichain block explorer from user payouts list.
4. Pool's performance improvements - miners idle warnings almost eliminated!

Is there an ETA on the JSON API?

Atm no, there isn't. I'm working on pool improvements and integration with Solidcoin 2.0

2011-09-28 New enhanced version of to auto-worker.

1. We've added possibility to set handicap for each coin. It affects algorithm of selection of most profitable coin. It can be used together with auto-worker. It works just like handicap in soccer betting.
If you prefer some coin over others you can set handicap to positive value. This coin will be selected for mining even if its profitability is below 1.0.
If you set negative value then coin will be selected only when its profitability is much higher than profitability of other coins.

Let's see how it works. Let's assume that we are interested only in BTC or I0C mining and BTC profitability is equal 1.

Example 1.
User wants to mine i0coins even if their profitability is below 1. He sets I0C handicap to +15%. Worker will be switched to I0C at I0C profitability = 0.87 ( 1/(1 + 15%) ). Below 0.87, worker will mine BTC.

Example 2.
User wants to mine i0coins only if they are significantly more valuable than BTC. He sets I0C handicap to -20%. Worker will be switched to I0C at I0C profitability = 1.25 ( 1/(1 - 20%) ). Below 1.25, worker will mine BTC.

Honestly I'm afraid of these 1-2 sec rounds. This will generate a lot of network traffic that may stress my VPS server too much :)
Instead I'm considering Tenebrix. Solidcoins 2.0 will be available as soon as it is restarted.

So it's not really proportional, or is it? (Can you explain a bit more about your reward system?)

Here you have exact formula :

Share Score = exp ( C * time span from beginning of the round to share delivery time / round duration )

Payout = 50 * sum( miner’s share scores ) / sum( all miners share scores )

How has this changed, if at all, for the BTC side ?

I like the free market approach to all these forks as opposed to DoucheExpress' dictatorial approach... So here is an idea for the people who want GG in coinotron:

Try a donation/inverse-bounty payable in any of the currencies you work with such that when whatever $$ amount is reached to be able to upgrade your server big enough to support the extra load you will upgrade and add it?

If GG has enough supporters it shouldn't take too long to drum up the cash to upgrade the server(s) I would imagine?  Plus you might get some donations from other chains hoping to monopolize on the shared increased performance to them as well?

It may not be feasible but if so this could be a good idea for you.

That is very good idea. And it looks feasible, although there will be some work to perform. If it works, I will send you a bounty :)

Yesterday I had to disable statistics calculation due to performance issues caused by high load in SolidCoin 2 sub-pool. Currently only lists of solved blocks are being refreshed. Best miners and main pool stats are not refreshed.
I hope to re-enable those stats soon.

Congratulations on adding litecoin (LTC) to the site.

It was added right above namecoin in the list of the types of coins that are allowed to mine.  My automined coins were set between bitcoin and namecoin (the rest were unchecked).  With the addition of litecoin, bitcoin and litecoin were checked, namecoin was unchecked.  You may want to check your settings to make sure your automined coins are set properly.

Please do not use worker type AUTO for mining LTC. Currently auto works only for BTC and NMC.

Due to performance issues I had to temporally suspend some stats related jobs and job calculating current round rewards.
In the following days we will move pool to new dedicated server (now it runs on VPS). I hope that will stop performance issues we experience currently.

Does anynone has problem with mining SC on coinotron pool? Mining seems working in miner (khs are showing, shares are sending), but account balance is still the same (at least 10 hours), pool stats for SC are strange too (last 15 blocks has still "14 to conf." status). And withdrawing SC doesn't work too.

Yes we had some issues after moving to new server. Most of them is solved now.
Payouts (bug affecting all SC pools) is very hard to pin point. Today I managed to gather some "good" logs, send them to RealSolid. Meanwhile we are performing payouts manually every 4-5 hours.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

That is the reason of both issues you are writing about. Current round reward just hasn't been calculated for 10 days.

It seems the blocks found on the 8th are showing confirmed on the stats page, but the rewards aren't being moved to the confirmed column to be paid out.
Might be having a similar issue as before not being calculated yet?

Can the admin take a look and see if things are working as it should?

Yeah, I remember your post about that.  The minimum really should be 0.1 and there should be some notice as to why you're not getting your payouts.  Instant pay would be nice too, but isn't that critical.

The calculators say I should be getting about 30 SC/day, just over 1/hr, but after leaving it on over night, I've got about 1.9 SC

Am I missing something?

I've been mining for a while with just over 200 kH/s and my payouts are way below what the SolidCoin calculators are quoting. Am I misunderstanding how the shares are split?

The calculators say I should be getting about 30 SC/day, just over 1/hr, but after leaving it on over night, I've got about 1.9 SC

Am I missing something?

DGM reward system in BTC pool !

We are changing our BTC payout algorithm to Meni Rosenfeld's Double Geometric Method. This method has been designed to limit reward variance and is hopping-proof. Details about DGM you can find here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=39497.0
We chose following values for DGM parameters:
 f = -1
c = 0.5
o = 0.25

Edit: DGM will be enabled in next round, ie round number 56. Current round (55) will be payed out like previous one, as proportional.

As far as I understand DGM, such downtime doesn't change miner's reward because algorithm of reward calculation doesn't depend on time when given share was submitted.

Here is quote from Meni's thread about DGM:
"In the capacitor analogy, every miner has a capacitor which is charged as he submits shares, and its charge level affects how much he gets per future block found. The pool at large does not have a capacitor which charges as blocks are found and affects the reward for future shares submitted. The pool's history has no effect whatsoever on the rewards for future shares."

2. We have made major improvement in Long Poll support. Now LP works fine even if all your miners are pointed to one worker. Previously there was limitation 1 worker = 1 mining program with LP or many mining programs without LP

3. DGM is working fine.

Hey
You must have at least 10 PPC confirmed coins: http://coinotron.com/coinotron/AccountServlet?action=home (http://coinotron.com/coinotron/AccountServlet?action=home)
Automatic payouts are processed every 10 minutes.

Now, I'm finishing downloading whole bitcoin blockchain (block # 190 000). Pool will be available as soon as I download blockchain.( 2-3 hours )

Any chance of having an auto exchange to mine one thing and convert to another or trade 1 coin for another ?

Currently I'm not planning to provide such functionality. It would require a lot of hard work to setup and probably would be used only by few miners.
I will reconsider this idea when alt currency networks grow in size significantly.

We are introducing PPS/RBPPS payout algorithm in our Bitcoin Pool.

New system will be turned on at the beginning of BTC round #112. Simultaneously DGM system will be switched off.
All existing BTC workers will be automatically switched to RBPPS.
All remaining ("buffered") DGM rewards will be credited to miners balances at the end of current round (#111).

Shares delivered via PPS/RBPPS worker will be rewarded with constant rate:
RBPPS share value = 0.98 * 25 BTC * Share difficulty / Current BTC Difficulty
PPS share value   = 0.965 * 25 BTC * Share difficulty / Current BTC Difficulty

RBPPS means Round-Based Pay Per Share. It works like Like PPS with one exception: payouts are delayed till a block is found and confirmed by the network. If a found block gets orphaned, earnings relative to it are not paid.

What is the reason for LTC having so high payout threshold? Looking at reward per share, I think 1 would be more appropriate value.

Almost to each transaction below 10LTC litecoin client adds 0.1 LTC transaction fee. In case of 1 LTC payout it is 10% !
Relatively high 10 LTC threshold was easiest to implement.
Another solution is small payout fee for payouts below say 10-20 LTC.

Title: Re: [ 400 GH/s - combined all subpools ] - COINOTRON pool - PPS/RBPPS in BTC pool!
Post by: coinotron on December 02, 2012, 11:17:32 AM

So high transaction fees could kill Litecoin. Anyway, thanks for clarifying the threshold.

When it comes to Terracoin, pool is still not linking payouts, e.g. payout address(es) to Terracoin explorer. Login > click on executed TRC payout > fail!  :P

Have you considered adding Namecoin as merge-mined with Bitcoin? Quite a lot of pools have such setup.

Those fees were designed to protect LTC chain from spam attacks.
I completely forgot about payout links! I will fix it ASAP.
I don't like the idea of merged mining in general + a lot of work to implement = no MM in Coinotron :)

Useful info to add would be how often auto-payout triggers. Few people I sent to Coinotron went mad on me because it's not
instant, LOL! They were expecting that payment will be made as soon as they have enough confirmed coins, set payout amount
equal or higher than minimum value and click on "Save".
Yeah, that must be irritating.
Instant payout is on my dev. list.

considering your lower fees.. for a 24/7 miner it is worth it to have to wait a little bit longer for the coins if you are getting more of them :)

that said.. I REALLY wish you guys would track # of share submitted by miner....

We are tracking and storing # of shares submitted by each worker for all coins since beginning. However there is no UI to view actual values. Simply there was always something more important to do :) Currently for example Stratum/GBT seems to be such thing.

1. Please use latest versions of following miners: cgminer, bfgminer, guiminer, poclbm <br />
2. Stratum mining is available in the following pools:

BTC  = coinotron.com:3333
LTC  = coinotron.com:3334
TRC  = coinotron.com:3335

3. Share difficulty may differ from main getwork pool.

Currently 10% of BTC miners switched to Stratum. I think we can start comparing getwork vs stratum efficiency.

Here are the numbers:

getwork efficiency = 99.39%
stratum efficiency = 99.92% ( 14 stales in 17000 submitted shares ! )

When more and more miners switch to stratum we will have more reliable data.

Hi, I have stopped mining litecoins, and I have 5.50340927 litecoins stuck on the pool. It won't let me pay out because there is no manual payout button and it's below the 10 litecoin automatic payout threshhold. Could you please force a payout of the remaining balance to the litecoin address on file? My account name is ssateneth

you need stratum support now for his trc pool only on port 3335 so you may need to update to the latest cgminer

Hello,
I'm mining LTC with a Radeon 5850 clocked at 575MHz(1.038v)/700MHz(GDDR5).
CGminer show actual khash 210.4K/s but on Coinotron website it seems very low (like 28K/s).

What's the problem?
This is the command line:
cgminer -d 0 -I 12 -v 1 -w 128 -o stratum+tcp://coinotron.com:3334 -u xxx -p xxx --scrypt

Catalyst 13.2/AMD SDK 2.5/Windows 8.

You probably have bad cgminer configuration. I'm not an expert on this topic.

TRC difficulty

often there is a significant difference between TRC difficulty on Coinotron page and the well known

http://dustcoin.com/mining

So when I mine at Coinotron at any given point in time which difficulty is the right one? What am I mining against? If dustcoin says 500%+ and Coinotron homepage says 60% what the @#%$!! should I do?   :-\

The difficulty on TRC changes every hour unlike most coins. I'm not sure which one is more up to date but I would guess Coinotron would as it's actively mining it.

TRC changes even faster - my site averages out for the given hour to reflect current difficulty, but I'd be weary enough of TRC's difficulty as it is.

Is anyone else having this problem with PPcoin, I am using guiminer and it will connect and get shares for about 10 to 15 minutes, but then will go to connection problem, only does this for PPcoin, and I have tried ports 8322 and 9322.  Why would it mine fine for a bit, and then all of a sudden have a problem?  And it isnt a localized event, the same thing happened to my friend who tried to mine PPcoin at Coinotron.

I've been pointing my CPU at your LTC pool for a while now, using mining_proxy and minerd. It works slow but gets shares.

I finally installed a Radeon 6570, and use cgminer. When I point it at ANY of your pools, using default settings from your Help section, I get very few shares. I have tried it on BTC and TRC, as well as on LTC (using scrypt, of course). In other BTC pools I have tried I get shares (about 80-85 Mh/s) but in your pools I get very few, if any. (I was connected to TRC pool for ten minutes leading up to the time of this point, and got two shares only.) Has your pool been rejecting connections, or should I be doing something special?

Coinotron pools send shares of higher difficulty than 1. So you submit shares less frequently but they are more valuable.

Here you can find actual values: https://www.coinotron.com/coinotron/AccountServlet?action=home ( BTC stratum uses share difficulty 4)

1. Pool uses DGM method, not PPS
2. In last 7 days pool didn't find a block.
3. Your total reward includes only estimation of current round reward.
4. DGM is a hybrid between PPLNS and the geometric method. That geometric part is responsible for behavior you are observing. It is hard to explain more accurately without going into technical details. DGM algorithm is described here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=39497.0  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=39497.0)
5. DGM will add those "missing" coins to your balance in next few rounds.

Yeah, the problem is coinotron is essentially a LTC pool now.

LTC miners outnumber BTC miners by around 200-1, so finding blocks is gonna be very tough, even with youpieie pulling 30k mh/s

I know how DGM works(ish). and your delusional to think I am going to get paid 3 BTC from the blocks that were solved 6 weeks ago. Or makeup that loss over the next blocks.

From the time of last post, I left 500mh on coinotron, and put 500mh on a different DGM pool.
Coinotron still the exact same balance as two days ago. Already up to .08 btc on the other pool. Coinotron; not a single number has changed in two days.

And your going to tell me my missing 3+btc is your DGM? hmmm. I'll get flamed; but its clearly the pool op skimming off the top. Maybe I am wrong, but this pool is trash ether way.

Coinotron's statistics page shows the last block found was on 4-17. Once a block is eventually found, miners will get paid based on their DGM scores. No, you don't get your 3 "missing" BTC because it isn't missing. It's a long round, and everyone shares the bad luck. Just like in short rounds, you'd all share the additional profit (and make more than PPS would have paid for the short round). Over a long period of time, the good luck equals the bad luck (in a mathematical sense) and it evens out. Of course, any stretch of good or bad luck could last for years, being random and all.

Is the withdrawal limit (without fee) 10 for PPC ? The Reward System page says so but I am not sure if it is up-to-date, because it also says the limit for LTC is 1 (in contradiction with the red statements in My Account page).

Mining LTC on Coinotron has a higher rejection (stale) rate than other pools. It is 5+%. It is because the miner-difficulty is too high.

So far the pool finds a block every 11.8 minutes. My miner generate a share every 1.7 min. When the pool finds a block and "close the door for the round", I have have a probability of 1.7min /2  / 11.8min = 5.5% not being able to register the work I have done with the pool. I measured the actual stale rate in 12 hours and it is 5.2%, in good agreement iwth my estimate.

So how can I set the difficulty for me lower? It is 198 now (my miner is 160kH/s). I would like to get the difficulty 60 or lower.

Same thing happens to me but much worse! I am trying to mine TRC but can hardly submit a share when difficulty is low. With frequent new blocks, my reject/stale/discard rate is sky high. Please either lower the difficulty or provide an option to choose our own difficulty. Much appreciated.

Newb here...Mining litecoin with 650 hash/second. Few weeks in and i have a bit over 14 Confirmed rewards. I was wondering why it wouldn't pay out and noticed the box where you can set your payout threshold. I set it just below what Ive got confirmed and its been a couple hours with no payout. Is there something i am missing? I'm not in a panic for them...i just want to get my first deposit into my wallet.

I'm new to litecoin mining.    I've signed up and configured my miner and its connected and working at around 100khs.

Is it normal to get 'pool request that work restart'   and stratum connection to pool 0 disrupted'  quite a lot??   Only got that now and then when Btc mining.

Thanks

thanks,    I went back to a basic cgminer config and and added things step by step.     My hash rate has dropped by 20 hashes but at least its a bit more stable, and not as many connection problems.

EDIT: i'd like to report it was driver issues causing my issues.   and a matter of finding the right intensity

FYI

Due to lack of popularity we are closing BTC pool.

Please withdraw your coins until 2013-08-31.

EDIT: Please wait with withdrawals until last solved block reaches 120 confirmations.

Sad to see your BTC pool shutting down.
I've been using your PPC pool in the last 2 days since the D7 pool had problems.
So far, its good. Keep up the good work.

emailed you a withdrawal request. sorry to hear that your pool is shutting down. i was making pretty good rewards there off of only one Block Eruptor. was wondering what the deal was when cgminer switched to a different pool and i couldn't login to my coinotron account. kinda worried it was a scam or something. anywho, sorry to see your pool go.

BTC pool got about 1% of other Coinotron's pools hashrate. One month to solve single BTC block. This was just too painful for me and miners.
You are welcome to mine alt coins on Coinotron :)

Are there known issues with the hash rate being under reported?  I'm mining at 199 but only reporting as 139 on the site.

Hashrate is calculated from the number of shares submitted so it will fluctuate depending on your luck finding shares.

Yes. :)

Is it possible to remove the minimum withdraw threshold for bitcoins  so everybody could just withdraw their
remaining coins without emailing any cash out requests?

It is not a big deal to send email with cashout request.

I'm not seeing all of my hash power and even tho shares are accepted it is not adding up.

Is this the official coinotron thread?

I post because I see some errors in my miners. Pool requires getwork restart, or some shares lost. I don't think this is a network problem, because avalons are working just fine.

Do you have the same problem?

nevermind, I installed p2pool locally, and it works much better. And also has a very nice www page with stats.
