btc hit $ 1 million, how big the market will be, the number is terrible haha, i just know one thing that the crypto market it was different from the 2012 period when people still think dotcom but till now the whole still can and bitcoin not just 1 but a lot!

That is unrealistic, I think that it can make it big but not a trillion value that is very impossible in my opinion, That the price would just pump into a trillion dollar in just a year, I myself would want that but I think a million USD is enough for bitcoin, I really there there would be an issue and a problem if bitcoin's gonna make it in that trillion boundary.

I absolutely believe that it will reach 1 trillion. I do think by Dec 2018 the year has potential to be even be better than 2017. Yes we will have lots of setback on our journey to the moon.

1 trillion is unrealistic it would not even reach 1 million in this year because too many people are scared because of the news/rumor that bitcoin is dangerous to invest money. I think it would be hit 100k per coins in this year i hope that bitcoin will dot it.

i read my friends discusion, bitcoin market now still under 50 percent, thats possible to reach 1 trillion, but not in 2018. also bitcoin competitors is trying replace bitcoin at top market, like bch or ethereum

My answer is YES, even the BTC market value itself can reach 1 trillion - if not this year next year.

I believe that this year will be the year of the bitcoin's price going to high and it really going to explode and be exposed this year. We all know that bitcoin's volume and the circulating supply are getting more higher and almost bit the total supply. But I was thinking about bitcoin will hit trillion I think it's nit yet because I predict about 40,000 to 50,000 US dollars before this year ends. That's my prediction and I believe bitcoin will hit this one but not trillion already everything is possible but this trillion is not this year.

It seems impossible to hear but it can happen.Because many of the peoples are learning and gathering knowledge about cryptocurrencies.i saw many of my friends who have no idea about cryptocurrencies but they are now investing many of icos.so in future cryptocurrencies market are going to create a history i think.When the more peoples accept it then surely market cap will increase.And as a btc is one of the most valuable cryptocurrencies ,so why not will hit 1 trillion in 2018. In one year one trillion target is very unrealistic. But during the bitcoin journey it multiply by large factor. So some future it may be achive this target also.

This would only be justifiable if Bitcoin had already figured out a way around its high fees and slow transaction speeds for its users. Once it has overcome these obstacles, the sky is the limit for Bitcoin.. at least that's my view point in all this congestion issue.

Its good that it is making progress. But it is still speculative to say that it will go big in 2018. Especially with all the altcoins making waves. But considering the amount of market cap and the value bitcoin has held during the past week, it just might cross the $20,000 mark by the end of this year. Good time to invest though. One can expect a considerable return if they invest now.

I very much doubt this will happen.. It could understandably rise to around 20/25 million dollars easily.. However I can't see the chance of these unreal growth rates up until .... well the 21 million BTC is out in the system.

I think it is utterly impossible. Bitcoin's price can surge up pretty high after some time but 1 trillion is a very large amount. And as of the moment, we're still in the ten thousand of price value. The gap between the two is very wide that's why I think it is too impossible and unrealistic. Taking into consideration that the bitcoin price as of the moment is still having a hard time keeping its price growing.

If the market continues to follow the current trend, it is possible for the encrypted currency to reach one trillion. But this rapid development is not necessarily good for bitcoin, I think it should grow slowly, which is a healthy growth.

It sounds impossible. I don't think bitcoin can hit 1 trillion in 2018. I predict that the price of bitcoin can only hit $ 35000 in this year.
As we know that nowadays there are a lot of cryptocurrencies appear and try to take over bitcoin. So, maybe some people will be more interested in another cryptocurrency.

I agree. I am a total bitcoin supporter, and I think it has a lot left in its tank to increase in value. I also know that it will keep on going in stride as to how much it would increase in the next few months and years. However, having it to reach one trillion would be so much of a long shot to happen. Even the stock market or any other investment-based ventures have not reached that amount in the long years it has been present. I think millions mark would be more probable to happen.

Market capitalization is a useless metric to determine bitcoins user base or market saturation. It means absolutely nothing.

Market cap = number of coins x price per coin

A market cap of 15 million dollars can be 15 million coins x $1 per coin and 15 million people each own one coin.

I think no, because even btc is increasing, it is still very impossible. Because trillion is very big, it can increase upto billion but not trillion, because even it is very karge and big, still many people doesnt support it and many people are against on it.

Bitcoin will not hit 1 trillion dollars the overall cryptocurrency market will surely but bitcoin alone will definitely not. I mean who would pay that for one btc nobody even has that much money individually so why would a digital store of value reach that much for one coin, it just doesn't make sense i'm afraid.

I can not conclusively say for now that in 2018 Bitcoin will hit 1 trillion because any thing can happen, but I know for sure that bitcoin will continue to appreciate and rise in price to the great surprise of many.

That's too high and unreasonable. Among the many threads that discuss about bitcoin prices, this topic provides the highest predictions. Well, that does not mean it's impossible, but not this year. There are still many countries that do not legalize bitcoin, it's one of the problems. Bitcoin prices are certainly going to rise this year, but not that big.

2018 is very critic for the crypto world we have two options we will drive lambos each of us or we will continue our life as we were before with a monthly salary and turned away from trade at least this is what I think.

No doubt in it, end of the year we can see the market cap touching a trillion, because when we go through the different assets that were available most of the altcoins too are with good growth. The same will contribute, and particularly more the capital market more will be the adoption from user community to reach next levels of growth.

It is tough to prediction about the price of Bitcoin for 2018 as it was ony $700 beginning but $13000 in the dec of 2017. So, it goes without saying that bitcoin holder are the golden egg holder. ; :D

Having almost 300 B USD Market Cap at the moment, there is a very high possibility for BTC to touch the 1 Trillion mark soon as the demand increasing day by day in a great extent. So it should be during the end half of the new year, 2018 and the price of BTC will move in an interesting way according to my view too.  ::)  ::)  ::)

Bitcoin will hit a very high price  in 2018 its true but hitting  1 trillion i think its  quite ipossible.

You only know one thing that crypto market is different from 2012 period when people still think dotcom but until now the whole world can still and bitcoin not only 1 but many.

If the issue of the general cryptocurrency, then 1 trillion will be in 1 to 2 months, if one looks at growth. If the capitalization of bitcoin, I think that in half a year it will reach 1 trillion.

I don't understand your question. Kind of misleading. I thought your question is whether Bitcoin market cap will reach 1 Trillion US dollars in 2018. And then your post is asking whether the total crypto market cap will hit 1 Trillion US dollars in 2018. Which is which really? But anyway, here is my answer. Bitcoin might not be able to hit 1 Trillion USD in the year 2018. But the entire cryptocurrency market cap might easily do that. We have so many coins that are going to be huge success in this year and they will definitely make the total market cap a lot bigger.

For me,it's very impossible to reach 1trillion this year but there is a big possibility to hit that value on the coming years but not this time.

I see that bitcoin is not to be counted, but to be believed. if technically a calculation, it seems unlikely, but if it is believed, it could happen. 2018 reached 1 trilion.

At t h is moment, the total market cap of all the coins is around 770B$ already so there is a big chance that it will hit 1 trillion this year. More and more coins will be listed and it will help at the increase of the total market cap of all cryptos.

To be honest 1 trillion price in this year are far far away to be realistic I will bet for 3m to 5m before the year end it so hard to predict what will happen in the future but I am sure they will be big explosion this year more altcoin will launched and bitcoin will rise up again the cypto market are so big they will be more investor will see bitcoin potential.

We are almost there, although I am not sure. Right now, the total crypto market cap stands at $781 billion, and the Bitcoin dominance is 37.5%. I am OK with the market cap of Bitcoin, but that of some of the other alts (especially Ripple and Ethereum) looks hyper-inflated to me. In future we may also witness the capital flowing from alts back to Bitcoin.

But, seeing the development of altcoin may be under it a bit. It will not be difficult to reach the next few months, we'll see what will happen later .

In terms of the whole crypto market marketcap, we are pegged at almost $800B now. So for me its possible that we can surpassed even $1T this year because crypto is taking the world by storm specially bitcoin. Its still early 2018 and I'm sure that there a lot of things specially in bitcoin that will really push the price to even greater heights. Plus altcoins take a big leap as well in 2017 and continuing this year. Ethereum reaches 4 digits for the first time, while Ripple surges past Ethereum as the #2 coins in terms of marketcap.


Did you really read the question of the OP, its says the total crypto marketcap and not the price of bitcoin. Of course its impossible for bitcoin to reach even 1M this year. You guys really learn how to read first.


If bitcoin dominance climbs back to more than 50%, I'm sure that we can hit $1T easily. As far as Ethereum and Ripple is concern, they maybe overvalued, but we can't deny the fact that almost altcoins in the top 10 are also in the same boat. But that's another discussion though.

Possibility to hit 1 trillion is more because more and more people are now taking interest in BTC and doing investing in BTC so we hope BTC will hit 50K$ in this year and also legalization of BTC in some countries are possible.

As of the current status of bitcoin, I don't think that it will reach 1 trillion in this year may be 1 million to 5 million will do. OP discusses the total capitalization of bitcoin and not the price, so we must not misinterpret those things.

For the bitcoin alone it will take longer but eventually it will be the case too if nothing major appear to break BTC. So it is good because discussion about price will guide people to use bitcoin and to make it useful. While buying anything we must think about profit and price at priority, so in 2018 bitcoin price will be very high and it will give them high profit buying today and holding for long.

In 2018, perhaps the total market value of all crypto money can exceed 1 trillion dollars. This goal can be achieved. But I think it would be a bit exaggerated to pass 1 trillion dollars of market value of bitcoin in 2018.

I think the highest price bitcoins can achieve this year is around  $70,000 per bitcoin. I think it is a bit of an underestimation considering how much bitcoins cost now and how it moves fast from 1 price to another, but consider a lot more competition and forks as well.

These days there are also people who theorize that capitalization of cryptos could actually also drop in 2018. Sometimes you have also things like bear markets.

BTC hit 1 trillion? That’s a huge number. I think the total number of btc including those not yet mined are 21 millon.

I think OP meant the marketcap of Bitcoin hitting 1 trillion and seeing how it is roughly 200 million right now that means a 5x from now. I could certainly see 50k bitcoin in 2018 but then again I could also see 100k bitcoin in 2018 and lastly I could also see 30k bitcoin in 2018. We won't know until the end is closer but if I was a betting man I would feel confident it could eclipse 1 trillion mcap.

1 trillion what? You didn't mention any currency. But if you were referring to dollars, then I think it's impossible. Even if everybody, as in every single person, in the whole word engaged in BTC I think that figure can't be reached.

The OP should be more clear and say what he means.  The capital could reach 1 trillion it is almost a third of the way there. It will definitely be higher then 1Trillion and beyond after years from now.

I think you made a wrong title....You mean total crypto market cap as stated in the post.

I believe Total crypto-market cap can easily hit 1trillion by end of 2018. As per the figure, global market cap was  $17.7M in Jan 2017 which has increased to $565M now, hitting highest $813M. Seeing the increasing popularity of cryptos...it seems that $1trillion is not a hard target to achieve. If in 2018 Govt. of any big country approve BTC as a legal entity than this figure can to double also.

The marketcap of bitcoin is slowly growing and i think that after a few months after the price of bitcoin pump again then it will be able to make the market capitalization of bitcoin to hit 1 trillion because the flow of money in the bitcoin market is so fast so i think hitting that target will be easy as pie.

1 trillion was really such a great amount to have and is quite impossible to be met within this year of 2018. Because even if  Bitcoin was fast rising, it will be still hard to raise such a great amount and it will be too expensive to be affordable by small time users that wanted to buy their own Bitcoin to obtain larger amount of income since it will be more beneficial having a large quantity of Bitcoin in your account. But maybe , we are just underestimating Bitcoin's capability to grow but if that so happens that Bitcoin will reach such amount, then it will be beneficial.

Bitcoin can hit that target, we see last year third and fourth quarter how total market cap of bitcoin grow so fast, and why not? All the anticipation from hard to soft fork drive bitcoin price to go crazy, and with this down we have now, surely big news about transaction development will come out that can manipulate the price greatly and so can drive more investors to put in money, in 2018 btc will hit 1 trillion possible but I think more than 1 trillion in the next fourth quarter.

I am thinking if in this year the bitcoin will hit 1 trillion, but for me it is impossible for the bitcoin to hit one trillion this year, it can rise up but not in the way of it can increases one trillion in a short period of time,

No, I don't think it will happen this year. Way back 2017, last quarter, it reached 19,000 $ per 1 bitcoin. In my country's currency, it is 1,000,000+. if you could observe the growth of bitcoin's price this last months of 2017 you could see that prices are keep on growing very fast each time with that expect a correction of its price this early months of 2018 and pumps will resume after the dips bitcoin will become bullish once again.

Not to be a pessimist but I think it won't happen this year. Based on how things are going for Bitcoin at thid moment, I think its not possible within this year especially if there's nothing will happen which is positive or in favor with Bitcoin. It is unfortunate to see the market value of Bitcoin is suffering right now affecting its market cap. But it is still a long way for this year so I hope things will go in favor with Bitcoin on the remaining of 2018.

That is crazy , its a stupid question with a really simple answer , the answer is that bitcoin cannot reach that value , its just to much, Bitcoin will never reach that value but it could reach maybe 50k this year but just maybe  , we can't predict any of this . Are you sure about reaching 1 trillion dollars because it's only 10k till now? Honestly, I do not think that anything it reaches that point because it will make almost impossible for normal users to reach a whole complete Bitcoin my working hard on the internet. Well, if it's about that I honestly do not really know for sure. I do not dare to answer because I can not predict the future. I will never know what will happen in the future. It could be that Bitcoin's price reached that number, it could not. But the exact name and decline of the Bitcoin price increase is certain and always changing all the time. Right now I just want to focus on collect Bitcoin and invest as much as possible. I want to collect as much as possible and save as long as possible. I hope with my new job, I can have a prosperous life and have a good investment. To me, no matter what the price of Bitcoin will go down. REaching 1 trillion isn't impossible but reaching such high value this year, i doubt it. Though the year just started but i don't think it will reach such high value especially when bitcoin value is way too low compared last year. no, its far from reality.. as of now its only on a 21 million.The total number of bitcoins, as mentioned earlier, has an asymptote at 21 million, due to a technical limitation in the data structure of the blockchain - specifically the integer storage type of the transaction output, this exact value would have been 20,999,999.9769 bitcoin. Should this technical limitation be adjusted by changing the width of the field, the total number will still only approach or be a maximum of 21 million..hitting trillion is  impossible this year.

I think this is impossible. Although I am optimistic about the development of Bitcoin, the figure of one trillion is too unrealistic. It will not be possible for Bitcoin to reach that amount in one year. Of course, Bitcoin will occupy a growing market share that is necessary.
