So what is your worst injury? I myself haven't had many injuries, except:


Cracking my skull on a radiator, twice.
Breaking little finger.
Tearing ligaments in foot.


If you can give us some detail how you did it, that would be great ;)

well ive only had 1 injury i had surgery in march i had an inguinal hernia thats where the hernia sneaks down into your scrotum and i also i had a hydroceletomy  where a fluid filled sack is also in your scrotum so it had to be removed so they had to cut into my ballsack and under my belly my ballsack ballooned about 3 times its normal size so they had to cut skin away and sew it back to get it back normal and if havent grossed you out enough i'll keep going  ;D

Head injuries are the worst.  I've had some when I was younger.

I nearly chopped off my toe once when I was doing woodcutting :D

I broke my medulla oblongata.

It happened when reading the title of this thread.

2004 - High Speed Wobble

I got caught in a nasty head wind while rideing a motorcycle.  Caused the bike to enter a high speed wobble at about 85MPH (The speed limit) after trying to power out and loseing control I drifted or wobbles into the median.  I ejected from the bike tumbleing down the highway. The bike actually vaulted three times in the air.  I ripped half my nose off. Fractured 8 bones in my hand.  Had lacerations everwher.  Broke my baby toe knocked several teeth out.  And road rash to boot.  The doctor I had said I was a rare case.  A full face helmet would have killed me.

2012 - I drove a concrete nail. A rather lrg one into my right foot.  Shattered 4 bones and went straight out the bottom.  It actually looked like QT's hand on from dusk til dawn.

Broken pinky toe.

I've always been a very cautious person even when i was a child. I've never been in a car accident, never had stitches, never had even a minor surgery.

Broken fingernail for me ;D

Actually it would be a sprained ankle or something similar. Luckily haven't broken any bones (yet)

Was riding double on a bike with a friend and flew off the handlebars and landed teeth first on the concrete 46 years ago.

i've only broken a finger, or strained my ACL.. i guess i've been lucky.

a few weeks ago i saw a guy with his foot about the size of a boot.. he had infected hardware on his ankle, and was profusely bleeding everywhere.


i know a guy who was going 50 MPH downhill on his bike.. ended up breaking his clavicle, distal radius, humerus, and something else. cycling is a really risky sport.. maybe not as much as riding a motorcycle, but still.

The only worst happened was dislocated my shoulder.

KOd for half an hour playing rugby, some of the players had though I had died lol.

Its pretty scary waking up in a neck and back brace surrounded by paramedics not knowing what the fuck is going on.

Apart from that  I have broken my wrist, 3 fingers, and have over fifty stitches in my body - all from sport.

My worst injury?  A broken heart.
Physical one?  Uhh...  Stapled my own thumb they took it out with a knife.  Was really young too.

I was in my early 30s and I simply jumped to touch the ceiling, felt like a simple pulled muscle, ignored it for about a year until I could barley lift my arm, finally was diagnosed with frozen shoulder as a result of injuries and non movement for so long... lesson is, stretch before doing anything like that and don't wait a year to see the doctor.       

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  :o Worst fear outside of having a needle go into my eye while open. I swear I have a nightmare about that fucking needle going in every night. I've never had a severe injury. I stick to getting at least one significant infection in intestines or lungs per year, which I write off as building immunity. Long-term investment.

The first and last time I rode a motorcycle, I hit a car head-on doing about 50 mph. Just before impart, something told me to take the bike down. The bike went under the car, and I sailed across the hood into the windshield, off the windshield into a single split rail fence, snapping both ends off at each post, then rolled through the grass.

Received a bump on the head, nose bleed and minor bruises, but no broken bones or sprains. My buddy drove me to the hospital where after a scat scan they said I had a concussion and that I should go home but not sleep, of which I went home and slept. Perhaps, that's why I'm TMIBTCITW.

BTW, this happened in Muse Part in Jackson, TN, round about 1986.

I agree. I hate thinking about that.
How much does that surgery even hurt?

I broke a toe once. Nobody thought it was anything to care about, but I really couldn't use that foot for a week!

Also, had gallbladder surgery 6 months ago that counts too

Cliff Notes - Football Injury - Tore groin muscle completely off the bone, thought it healed, played football again, tore it off the bone again.  Fast forward - bone grew out to meet the muscle instead of the muscle going back into place.  I sprouted an extra bone about the size of a grape on my pelvis any running, cutting, jumping caused said bone to dig into the muscle.   Fast forward - Surgery - Cut open, extra bone chiseled  and vacuumed out muscle reattached.  Years later fine, but the orthopedic oncologist said it's the absolute closest a male will ever see to a C-Section.

In 1972 I turned a 1968 Pontiac Bonneville four-door sedan into a 1968 Pontiac Bonneville two-door convertible tricycle.

This feat of legerdemain was accomplished as the result of falling asleep on the highway and running underneath an old Ford two-and-a-half ton hay truck.

Shattered my nose, broke the cheekbone (Zygomatic arch), blinded in one eye from shards of my sunglasses, had over two hundred small stiches to sew my forehad skin back on, had about another 150 to seal up a laceration which ran from the front of the left side of my skull clear across the top and down to the base of my neck.

Not to mention the other minor facial cuts, bruises, aches and pains which resulted.

My face is slightly off kilter from the bone breakage and the insertion of various bits of plastic to replace powdered bones.

Too bad; it was a really nice car!

flipped over on a mountain bike going down a hill in SF (giant crack in the street, i was looking at the lights), went flying about  5 or so meters.

tore some tendon in my left shoulder, but i had to sacrifice the shoulder or else I would have no face right now.  just makes a weird click sound once in a while but after 1 year i was able to start doing push ups again.


luckily i did not crack my skull as i landed my head right on my left temple.  my vision in my left vision eye is a little blurry compared to that of the right.

I wonder how nobody noticed that the title is wrong.

And in '77 there was the somewhat hard landing of a '64 Maule survey plane in which I was a passenger but actually at the controls....................................................

We were pretty much uninjured except for back problems that continue to today but what really pissed us off was that we broke the damned plane!

Damned thing had a stall speed of only 28 MPH and I managed to stall it out about 50 ft above the ground.

These days highlighting bad grammar and spelling appears to be a condemnable offence in itself; however, the fact the OP repeats the mistake in the title and the post suggests this wasn't a simple slip.  It's a shame our beautiful language is so abused but symptomatic of so much...

I try my damdest to forget about injuries I've gotten while riding. I like to think instead of all the good times.

Breaking my leg several places at once takes the biscuit.

English is my 3rd language and I'm still trying to improve it and have have difficulty remembering some parts of the language. I have corrected the title, thanks for pointing it out. Although this was done a few months ago. I have now improved slightly (I hope).

How long did it take you to recover? Are you still riding? That would shake me up a little.

Busted knee from accidentally driving a 68-ton EMD locomotive in to the back of a parked line of flatbed wagons.  Disused line + weeds = no grip.   :-[

A year later (just before the surgery for the knee) missed the last step on the stairs and sprained my ankle.  Sprained ankle on one leg, knee surgery on the other.   ::)  Oddly, the knee was better long before the ankle.

That's got to hurt, daamn.

Fell from a big ass tree @ age 12 = Broken Knee + Dislocated Shoulder + broken wrist + bruises everywhere

Actually, I've broken a few bones but now I come to think of it. My shoulder really did hurt when I broke it.

A broken knee is a pain in the ass. I spent nearly 2 month in rehab therapy , pain full as hell. But I didn't get to be 100% fine again. If the weather is too cold or humid, it starts to hurt, and mobility-wise I can't react as fast as I could.

It seems someone has their priorities mixed up.

The car and airplane are just objects.

You are fortunate to even be alive.

Did you learn anything at all from your experiences?

Peoples lives are more important than those objects.

Yes I learned the following things:

(1) Do not fall asleep while driving.  Falling asleep at the wheel can cause things to happen which hurt.

(2) I learned the truth behind the First Law of The Air:

"Maintain Thy airspeed lest the ground reach up and smite Thee in the ass!"

Not picking on you but from the tenor of your post I would assume that:

(1) You have never flown on anything but a commerical airliner, much less been at the stick.

(2) You have no empathy or understanding of automobiles.  Not that it really has anything to do with anything but my personal highest provable recorded speed is 196.5 MPH (316.23 Km/Hr) in a Plymouth Superbird and I have never felt so fucking ALIVE as I did as I watched the broken white stripes turn into a single white line as I did on that day.  You know, I think there was another 20-30 MPH in the car but I ran out of room.

A buddy has a 'bird and one day we might just find out.................................
