I made a similar mistake last year and have over 2 BTC on defaults and its a large amount considering today's Bitcoin price. Another thing I would suggest is never accept collateral's that cannot be liquidated easily/quickly. I haven't been following this forum for quite some time now so I don't think I am currently best suited to list some good/bad collateral examples but there's a very detailed explanation by Vod in this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577765.msg6311902#msg6311902) sticky thread. 10k TTC might be worth ~$25 ATM but things change quickly in the crypto space these days. After a couple of hrs someone want this alt loan offer,makes a request and without Op posting here,we have a transaction (deal) quoted from the borrower. It's either that or the tried and tested collateral scam. The vouch knows he is safe. If the rest of the "loans" go south, not his problem and his account is left scratch free. Low sending fees and fast transfer is why i chose TTC.
