I know one of the reason you are here is to make money, but know for a fact there is no free money in the space, do you research before you invest into any project and do not invest more than you can afford to lose, because there will always be another good opportunities

First of all you need to decide whether it will be a hobby or a full-time job. If a hobby, then you need to do everything for your own pleasure. Slowly you study precisely those parts that you like most. Over time, you will begin to understand and related topics. The whole pace is unhurried, at the level of your understanding.
But if you want to fully occupy your day with the world of crypto currency, then it will take much more time and effort. Reading of specialized literature and forums. Tracking trends and the market. It will take a full payoff to begin to understand this at a good level. All as in any work. Loafers do not get anything and stay behind. So the choice is yours.

the global cryptocurrency market exceeded $700 bln, reaching an all-time high in the valuation of all cryptocurrencies combined. Market capitalization amplifies an asset’s value by that asset’s overall amount in circulation. The spike occurred as a result of the increase in the value of more than 1,400 cryptocurrencies in use considering the growth opportunity, traders and investors are starting to get more involved in the crypto world. Now, more than ever, people are looking at cryptocurrencies from an investment perspective. However, crypto investing doesn’t compare to picking stocks on e-Trade because e-Trade is a third party between the Stock Exchange and an investor. Intermediaries or third parties don’t exist when trading on decentralized exchanges.

Read a few tips from me on investing in projects, if you suddenly want it:
1. On preico, the team must have a contract for automatic transfer of funds with prescribed conditions for early investors - not handles like many do, namely those prescribed in the smart contract - otherwise the collected funds can simply enrich the funders or conditions will change during the play - cases of lots.
2. The contract for preIOO should be part of a large ICO contract - not by different coins - it is not safe in terms of vulnerabilities and withdrawals.
3. The contract for preIOO and then the ICO should be registered lower and upper barrier - if this is not the team does not know what it wants - just a scam.
4. The contract for ICO should be escrow of the funds received as a result of placement - it can be a frieze or multisec with a voting condition. This will give you a guarantee against the expenditure of funds earlier than the team completed the previous stage.
5. In the contract, an unconditional refund should be prescribed in the event that the lower limit of the collected pool is not reached. It is in the contract and not in the white book, if it is not - scum.
6. All contracts must be posted on GithHub, this will enable third-party developers to check the contract for the vulnerability if the team has not taken care and before the ICO has not posted a bounty on the vulnerability.
7. The contract must specify the conditions for the team and for the bounty.
8. The contract must specify the conditions for not traded tokens - with clearly defined deadlines.

Stuffs in this forum has been updated and the rules you previously knew might be unfamiliar to you now. Aside from the knowledge you can acquire from reading threads here, you also need to rank up. Ranking up is not so easy eversince the merit system happened. You need to have quality posts. You won't get any job here if you will remain as a newbie. Higher ranks get all the benefits of this new merit system and will probably get most of the jobs here. That is why I think, the first thing you should know is how to rank up. It's not as easy as it was before.

I have any tips for investing in Bitcoin and Other Cryptocurrencies for you as:
1.Learn to buy and properly store major coins before trading.
2.Don’t diversify for the sake of it.
3.Market cap matters more than coin price.
4.Don’t take profits unless there’s a change in circumstances.
5.The goal isn’t to be right as often as possible.
6.Crypto worth should be measured against both USD and BTC.

Hello there newbies! I am already ranked as Member in this forum but to be honest I still lack the knowledge or shall I say, I still don't know everything about cryptocurrency. My advices are, as what everybody has to say, always have time to read and reread threads in the forum. Also, you need to exert extra effort by researching more about the cryptocurrency world. It is also important to be open-minded. Do not hesitate to ask questions on those who are in high rank coz for sure they have more knowledge about this. Just explore, learn and enjoy! Welcome here!

Just continue to expand your knowledge in cryptocurrency through reading more articles and news about bitcoin.  You can also watch videos in youtube and different ads.  Through this, you will gain deeper understanding about bitcoin and other cryptos.  If you already gain enough information, it is time to get out of your shell and try to involve in trading or investing.  Through that, you will be benefited from the knowledge you gained and start earning cryptos.  Good luck to your crypto journey.

Good move to come to the forum and read into the topic.

Not sure if you have started trading. I would just recommend reading up projects that interest you and hold that.

Avoid margin and day trading.

If you want information on potential ICO's and general info on crypto check out Ian Balina's youtube channel.

good luck!

One thing that has made an impact on me is learning not to focus on the USD price. You can become a bit fixated on it however with alt coins you need to be mindful of price against btc as ultimately its all relative. I have known people to sell their alt coins as they have increased significant in USD however when it comes down to cashing in they got no more back in btc than first invested. Keep track of all you purchase prices. Good luck

It is good to hear that there are still newbies like you that wants to build knowledge first before engaging into posting a lot for bounties and causing chaos here in the forum.

The only advice i can give you is to continue lreading and learning. Never ever think that you have known a lot already. Always think that you still know very little and have to learn even more. And if you already think of investing, make sure that you have already invested a huge amount of time in learning as much as you can. Doing this, you will have great knowledge amd experience which you can obviously benefit from in the future.

Good day man. Good luck and welcome :)

Welcome to the world of crypto. A few tips to help u to navigate this complex world of crypto.

If you are brand new and do not know what to buy, just grab some BTC or ETH when there is bad news in the market. I know this is hard to do but just buy a little amount and hold it. The experience of buying BTC or ETH will give you the practice that you will need to understand how to buy and trade and also how to transfer coins and the mechanics of opening a wallet. Transfer that BTC or ETH to your own wallet.

Then with this new found experience, you will start to understand other altcoins and you can start reading articles on coindesk and cointelegraph. These 2 news sites will provide some fundamental information to start.

Do not buy ICO if you got no idea what you are doing. Learn first. Opportunities in the ICO market will come every month so do not rush.

Have fun in this brave new world!

Good advice to all the newbies. If you written this on beginners and help section this might more helpful to them than you done here. Since the value fluctuates more in the chart you no need to worry about the trading investments.
Please invest on the trading altcoins you can check the price value properly you will find the price bumped more in the chart.

Try to learn most of the basic things in trading if you are planning to trade someday, start reading here or in investopedia thats where i learned basic technical analaysis, you need to know how the market works and how these coins will grow, the most commin mistake of newbies is not learning the most imporrant thing which is the basic.

the global cryptocurrency market exceeded $700 bln, reaching an all-time high in the valuation of all cryptocurrencies combined.
This is a certified shitposter, the OP is asking for some advice bro people like you are the main reason why the merit system has been implemented,
Back to the OP's topic, newbies must have some basic trading strategy when you are planning to trade in the future, know most of the imporatant thing like how the market works, how it cycles and never stop learning everyday make it a habbit learning a lot of things will give you more confident in most of the things about cryptocurrency.

Welcome to the world of cryptocurrency.
You need to have a wallet to be sent your reward. and then flipping pages with a bounty of companies that will like it, subscribe, read the rules, and participate. Or you could start with airdrop. But millions out there do not earn.
The main thing to understand that everything will be, but not immediately.

You make sure you do your research. That really important. You should study the team. The team should have advisor who are experience in blockchain and smart contracts. The team should also have developer. I mean who going to code the project. You read the whitepaper and see if the company is tackling a real demand. If the team has product, that a plus. I advise you to study the blockchain and smart contract. By doing this you will have a feel of what to ask and what to look for. Good luck and congratulation for getting started. You are in for a ride.

Just read threads here and don't hesitate to ask if something confuses you. You study by yourself here and no one can really give you a step-by-step lecture of how things run in here. You need to make a wallet ofcourse to keep your coins safe. Studying stuffs in this forum really takes some time and I myself experienced some struggle along the way. Up until now I am continuesly learning. Just don't get tired being involved in discussions and you will get it.

Hi there, and welcome. I'm a relative newbie too - got in around early November and was active for a bit but then work and travel took over and I'm only just coming back to take proper stock of everything! Some stuff I learned when I was really new though:

 - If a lot of people, especially newbies, are suddenly talking about a new coin or ICO (especially if they use the term "next Bitcoin"  ;) ) , then be wary. It could be legit but 4 times out of 5 they're shills.

 - EVERY coin will have a 'it's a scam' thread and a "it's going to moooon!" thread. The best advice going around on this forum is "Do your own research". Put your money into what YOU think has potential, and not what others are telling you to invest in.

 - Buckle up, it's going to be quite the ride. I'm 'lucky' enough that my main holdings are generally back to November levels or still slightly higher. But any awesome December gains have been pretty much erased

which brings me to my final comment: After doing some research, set a personal 'target' for every coin you hold; a high price where you feel you've made a decent amount out of it. If it hits that price, sell some (not all!).  If it continues to climb, then at least you're still in the game. But if it falls, then at least you've made something!

Best of luck to you

It is difficult to answer and predict your prospects, since with the new system (merit) it will be hard for you to move to a new level and get a new rank. But in any case, you should not stop, because you can participate in twitter, facebook companies, if you have accounts. There are other ways of earning, study the forum further. Good luck to you!

Welcome to the Crypto world. First you have to read related to the Crypto currency articles and put some posts here to get the upper rank. You can go through the Crypto currency calendar and Coin market cap to get the good knowledge about market analysis of Crypto trading. After that you can slowly enter to the Crypto trading. If you have some money you can directly buy some coins and easily can do the trading. But if you do not have sufficient funds you can do bounty campaigns to get free token without spending a single cent. You can find some good bounties from this forum and i also like to recommend "Daneel" bounty programme. Daneel is a ongoing bounty campaign and their general ICO also live until 10th of February. If you like to participate their ICO just join before 10th of February to get the additional 15% bonus. Further you can join their bounty campaigns from this link >> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2667581.msg27210952#msg27210952.

I know one of the reason you are here is to make money, but know for a fact there is no free money in the space, do you research before you invest into any project and do not invest more than you can afford to lose, because there will always be another good opportunities

There is ALMOST free money in airdrops...and while yes, you may have to fill out a form which takes about 1 minutes, and in some cases they want you to follow their twitter, tweet a tweet, share a Facebook post, but for 10 minutes worth of work you can make upwards of $500 in some cases. Not exactly free but pretty damn close. I know a few members that made over $100k from the Oyster airdrop and that was similar and pretty much free. How would you like an extra $100k for less than an hour or work?

Just had to get that out there because a lot of these older members don't exactly explain that it was quite easy to make a lot of money not too long ago just by being in the right place at the right time and the right place was here in this forum and the right time was not too long ago.

Just sayin...........

My only advice is do not stop learning everyday, because this is the main common mistake of a newbie not learning and improving their skills.Do not be afraid to make mistakes in an early stages because it is part of your skill improvement the best teachers are your mistakes,do practice a lot of trading because it is the most easiest way to get some bitcoins, start reading at investopedia or in babypips where you can learn some basic-advance technical analysis, because reading and watching tutorials will help you understand how the market works.

The best advice for everyone whos new in to cryptos: Read and research! First of all you have to understand how blockchain works. After that look at the history of blockchain and cryptocurrencies. You have to read the most things online. Because cryptos are very young, and theres no good book availabe at the moment who can explain this new world. Dont put your money on something you dont understand just because someone recommend you. And start with small amount to trade, so you can learn how fast you can win or loose.

The tips and advice depends on what you are looking for in the forum itself. I mean there is one type of crowd which comes here to earn money and another crowd who want ti contribute to the forum with their knowledge, sharing it and grasping the knowledge from the forum too. So if you are one of the guy who stands in the earning portfolio then you should consider yourself focusing on the quality of your account, ranking up and getting engaged in almost all the boards and replying truthfully etc.

This is also applicable if you are in the second group of people but in that case you should be very serious about what you share. Dont spam any projects and neither promote any activity that can be smelly. In simple words just keep it straight and simple.  :D

First of all, welcome mate to the forum. I am sure you would enjoy learning about cryptocurrencies here. There are lots of people here who can help enrich your knowledge about the market that could equip you to make better business decisions and ventures as you go on the market. Like most replies would tell you, gain and digest a lot of knowledge, it would prove to be useful as you explore the market and do business. Many people lose faith in the cryptocurrency market that prompt them to quit after a short stay.

I think the new altcoin for now is less potent compared to the long-standing altcoin, because now the alteration of the new altcoin is just a tool for investment in the short run after that altcoin will die.

Hey I'm new here and fairly new to crypto. I have been following the forum for a while but now I've decided to register.

I'm slowly building my knowledge everyday, though much to get my head around.

Any tips or advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hello and welcome newbie , this forum is called the alternate crypto as you can see this forum is for the ICO or initial coin offering , bounties and other alt coins. And just be active everyday though , post on some topic and level up. First tip though is to have a basic search about it , and curiosity serve as a fuel though to strive and learn new things about crypto. Good luck and have fun.

Good to have you around. As regards tips perhaps on investment, don't base all your findings about your investment on bitcointalk forum make findings on other crypto related websites and try to make a balance decision when you want to invest in altcoins or you want to participate in an ICO.

I know one of the reason you are here is to make money, but know for a fact there is no free money in the space, do you research before you invest into any project and do not invest more than you can afford to lose, because there will always be another good opportunities

Very well said. Think before you invest and do some research to learn more about crypto.

As for me, I take a lot of useful and very truthful information from video blogs devoted to cryptocurrencies. Just watch YouTube - many guys, who are in crypto, share their knowledge with us.

At first you should invest in main cryptocurrency, than during your studying in crypto , you should diversify your deposit in 3-5 altcoins  ;)

I want to learn here, it's good. Because before making a mistake, the knowledge is good. Because there are so many things to be known. Many people here are very skilled, but others are a little less skilled. So everyone's knowledge is unmatched. So I think you can learn what you need to learn from here. And by your question many people here will get the chance to know. So I think you know what you need to know. And Crypto has a lot of easy work. If you want to know it, you have to ask the question here. So ask questions now.
