Title: Which Cryptocurrency Should You Still Have In 2019
Post by: Ennudkrid on January 26, 2018, 07:01:38 AM
There are currently at least 1,200 different types of coins as listed on Coinmarketcap. Which one will prevail? Or rather, which group of coins will survive for the long term. What coin/token should you have now for the year 2019?

Well clearly this will be ETHEREUM
CARDANO top of the coin should feel myself well.
NAS I think that ICO was not all were bought at the pre sale . Such projects shoot best.
Well, anonymous, like, XSPECTRE, MONERO will feel good.

I think very soon will die any sidoine which are of no value.

If you want to hold altcoin untill 2019 u should consider to hold one or two of these coin :
1. Aurora token. Aurora token is issued by idex lab and auroru token is for supporting network for decentralised exchanger idex.market you can stake aurora token start from q3 2018 when snowglobe platform is live. And in exchange for staking you can get more aurora token we all know decentralised exchanger is safest then centralised exchanger and crypto world need such exchanger.

2. Crypterium. Crypterium is a utility token which can use for spending our crypto asset to real world. If the road map done as is we can use crypterium apps for 40k merchant all over the world. We no need to exchange our crypto asset again. Also by holding crpt token we can exchange it to credit token at their platform and give some one a lend without worried about fluctiation ( read this features on their whitepapper )

3. Swissborg if you hold many alt crypto you will need the cyborg advice for investing to what alt and swissborg offer such features to holder

4. Savedroid like regular bank save droid will be operated as automatic saving. The features also unique and they also have many customer already. I have download their apps and its fun to use it.

I agree with these coin but you forget platform coin such exscudo and boscoin.
Exscudo will hit $10 mark in my opinion when the platform launch. They also already updated their test net for colour coin which is asset in exscudo platform.

And another next coin which has its own block chain will be quantum1net and the project also aim for makin its own miner, it could be an awesome coin wars this year.

Clearly token released by exchanger such as KuCoin KCS should be in your long term holds, until decentralized or atomic swap become norm this token will give you good return of your hold.

Some of token with real world business and monetary instrument backing is also very good long term holding such as HelloGold token HGT, Goldmint MNTP, OneGram OGC, Sudan Gold SGC have very good backing if anything happen to the global financial market

No doubt Ethereum will still be one Altcoin to beat, but I have a feeling Wanchain and NEO are going to be huge too, I won't count these five projects out too, Comos, EOS, Qtum, Boscoin and  Waves platform

It is a tricky question because we can only speculate. The technology of blockchain is obviously here to stay and will be used more and more often in the near future. But which coins/tokens will still be operational in a year from now.
From the current top 10 I would go for Ethereum. As long as there are still new ICO’s coming into the market Ethereum will be necessary and it has the reputation and tech to be around for longer than a year.
I will give good chances to Iota, Cardano and EOS too. Crypterium is now out of the ICO a few weeks, but I have faith in them to grow out to be a key player sometime soon.

Multiple ICO’s carry good visions and ideas to improve the world of crypto, but like I said.. We can only speculate at this time and hope for the best. Regulations and SEC or heading out to start (have started it already for quite some time) a riot and to scare off the masses. But blockchain wil prevail, that is a 100% given fact!

My picks of the alts would be ETH, NEO, ADA, XLM, QTUM as relatively solid picks.

I'm also holding SwissBorg, Crypterium and DragonChain as riskier long termers, but I think they will prevail.

My long shots are all in renewable energy POWR, ETK, RED MWAT ...and soon WEP. I personally believe 2018-2019 will see a BIG boom in green energy... it's where government policy is going (well, in Europe and Australasia at least).

I think you should think about the big picture when thinking about a full year from now.

ETH is the new standard pretty much with the low fees and fast transactions.  That will always do well because there are so many ERC20 tokens based on this.  ETH will be great to have.

If you look at the privacy coins, you can look more into ZOIN or PIVX.  You should also look into XSPEC as this is on a new level than the others if they can pull it off.

If you look at social media integrations and monetization, you can look more into TRX (despite the current FUD) and KIN.

If you look at trading alorithms and aid in trading, you can look more into COV (or COVX depending on the exchange - Covesting), CND, and PCL.

If you look at utility coins, you can look more into THETA and TEL.

If you are looking into investing in new chains, look more into ITC (China's IOTA), IOTA, VEN, and ADA.

If you are looking into coins that are trying to replace fiat, look more into XRB and EOS.

And, as stated above, the BNB and KCS coins will likely do well this year as well.

what i am hodling is bitcoin, obviously :D

but also i believe that we will see a good future from coins that are based on DAG. there are currently a couple of them out there: IOTA, RaiBlocks, Byteball comes to my mind. and i believe that this technology (not just these coins necessarily) has a good future.
bottom line is i am holding Byteball too but a small amount because i like the project.

Bitcoin and other old alt is my choice for long term investment. They have been proven, until now persist and its price continues to increase.
See doge, eth, xlm, ltc, xmr and dash, I notice from year to year the graph keeps going up. I'm sure the end of this year the price will explode.

DOGE is a joke coin.  I can't believe people are still buying it.  Even the developer encourages people not to buy it.

I think naming anything in the top 20 is almost expected.  Outside that, I don't know.  A year in crypto is too long.  Things can drastically change in a week--say if a coin is hacked or abandoned by the developer.  Likewise, a totally unknown coin can get a boost by a major partnership announcement.  It can swing both ways.

I strongly believe in diversification and hedging...that is why I cast a big net of 35 coins.  ;D

I used to do in depth research of the; tech, dev team, marketing, news, etc.  before buying.  Recently, I only do these for long term hold.  Surprisingly, most of my profits are made through quick flips which are less involved (I still do research but not as deep).  Luckily, some of them end up on the HODL pile as well.

it will be very difficult to predict the progress of the coin for the future, because I think all coins have equal opportunity to achieve their best achievement in 2019. but I am a bit more confident to ethereum because eth more and more known and more attention.

I have been a big fan of Ethereum for along time. I love the idea of building businesses into the crypto currency realm to expand what we can bring to the crypto community. Ethereum is an advancement based on the principle of blockchain that supports bitcoin but with a purpose that does not compete with Bitcoin. However, the popularity and rising market capitalization of Ether brings it in competition with all cryptocurrencies, especially from the trading perspective.

Ethereum based token are a big hit so far with many legit cryptocurrency using it, so I'll go for ethereum based token for a group of coin but still bitcoin has an edge in terms of popularity and volume in the next three years.

I would not forget about the exchange-specific coins right now.

BNB, KCS, and COSS.

BNB and KCS have risen pretty dramatically and COSS will likely hit new heights this year.  It is still only in beta right now with low volume and I foresee it mooning once it's fully out of beta.

But here's the altcoin are possible here still in the crypto world for me are ethereum for me is the number 1 , waveslitecoin,  and ripple.

WAVES, STRAT, LISK and plenty of others. The smaller and less known coins need to be watched more closely.

3. NEO
4. Stellar/Ripple
5. Litecoin

And also some new, promising and cheap coins from top 100-200 on coinmarketcap for good profits

Of course, Ethereum should be in your wallet. Not only because of it's popularity but for the reason that it had build-up a strong foundation in cryptoworld unlike other altcoins. Market we're moving fast, coins price and its credibility may change everytime, It could be possible that some coins right now will be dead next year or it could not be recognized by investors due to the fact that there's always new coins created everyday.

Instead of checking the 2019 speculation, first check the value movement in the 2018 changes. We may not see the Ripple or ADA not in the top 100 list also. Some coins in the top 5 list now move back to 50 and more long. We cannot say that this will be higher rank in tomorrow also.
In that meanwhile we are here discussing about the 2019 speculation. I feel this funny what we are doing in this thread is.
Hopefully bitcoin alone I can say that always top in the market nothing can replace its place ever.

The first coin you should have is Bitcoin, it's useless if you have another coin but it doesn't have bitcoin. In the world of cryptocurrency bitcoin has a great influence on other coins, can be viewed at https://coinmarketcap.com/ when bitcoin prices fall, almost all altcoin decreased as well. The second is Ethereum, ethereum is currently still in the second position after bitcoin. Both coins are mandatory in 2019, because basically if you want to buy ICO or tokens or other coins that already exist at https://coinmarketcap.com/ the first digital currency you should have is bitcoin and ethereum. So this is what makes bitcoin and ethereum very potential to have.

Anon coins will see even more usage, so monero and zcash and probably verge second third and fourth.
IOTA for risky potential. These are my choices. And bitcoin as king.

I was going to write my coins but you already have. I would just recommend those ones. Big comunities, important developments coming and they've proved to be reliable. The same opinion with EOS and Tezos (I hope the solved this freaking situation they have).

And I'd like to recommend to invest also in other "classical" reliable coins like Litecoin and others focused on privacy like Monero and/or Zcash.

Yes I agree. It seems to me that there will be coins that were the first and coins that brought the technology!

Unfortunately, I meet very few projects that really use blockchain technology.

Do you know of such projects, who use 100% power blockchain?

Yes, for example, take a look at the project in my signature. Very strong project. Infrastructure is fully tied to smart contracts. And contracts bring dividends to the holders of the token. The project makes casino and high-tech contracts. Up to what progress has reached.

2019 is still a long way to go and we can’t tell yet which coins will possibly prevail next year but in my opinion I think bitcoin based blockchain coins will try to overtake Ethereum based blockchain coins/token so my bet for 2019 would be Ethereum and those other coins and tokens that comes along with it.

I think this year and especially year 2019 will be the time when new blockchains and platforms will come to a front scene. I guess it will be especially platforms that offer greater transaction speeds, less transaction costs and better and secure smart contracts. My bet is for the NEO, EOS, Waves, ArcBlock and similar projects that right now undervalued compared to the top coins.

Ethereum is going to be the best coin in 2019 and I am sure it will manage to surpass bitcoin in term of price. Everything related to Eth is going swimmingly so far such as transaction fees or confirmed transactions. The price is still not high, but people are really investing in it and deem it to be the future cryptocurrency that will take over bitcoin. I am still loyal to bitcoin though and still annoyed by the high transaction fees and unconfirmed transactions.

Pretty much anything that's under the #300 spot on coinmarketcap you can rule out.  There are always a few exceptions but the fact that there are over 1300 cryptos on CMC is quite alarming.  In my opinion the two safest bests are eth and btc, you can't go wrong with either.

More than 1,300 almost 1400 coins listed actually. Bitcoin should be the Number One to have in 2019, 2020 and beyond. Bitcoin dies, all of alts die. For alts to have, it is always Ethereum and Litecoin, these are the ones with the most recognized and reputable development and a serious, loyal community. I do not want to say for other alts, not even the ones I hold,,, as for me, they have yet to prove themselves. But the ones with potential for the same points BTC, ETH and LTC: Monero, Waves.

The purpose of this thread (I think) is to ask which alts will be around in 2019?

Why would you think this?

I think it's more like a slow birth.  It's rising more and more and gaining traction more and more every day.  I'll buy all your crypto at the end of 2018 though :)

The best cryptocurrencies that you should still have in 2019 are Ethereum, XRP,  Waves, and Stratis. For me, these four are the biggest future coins because of the progress on their graphs and you can already say that these four will be profitable in the future.

In general, It is certain that Ripple will have a successful future and will develop with great value until 2019 and more. In fact, I believe that XRP will be one of the best value in the market and may compete with Ethereum and become better than him, but this could happen in 2-3 years later. In addition to that, many people are investing in this currency because their price is weak ($ 1.17) but their Market Cap is very huge (45 Billion Dollars). So it is very expected that Ripple will rise in a fast way in the near future because it is characterized by an acceptable level of transactions.

These guys are here to stay and many of you already know why.

VTC
ZEN
These smaller guys have clear goals for 2018 and dev teams that achieved what they had planned for 2017 so I am betting on them for this year too.

Privacy coins are the future in my opinion. Verge is looking great, Monero is solid as ever. And there are several upcoming projects I am very interested in. DeepOnion being one of them, and I have heard talk of late about Spectrecoin. Privacy coins have a great future with people getting sick of government involvement, and the FUD that follows it.

Ever since internet companies arose from the ashes of the dot-com bubble burst in the nineties, almost every industry has been disrupted by software and technical innovations.

In parallel with this phenomena, Bitcoin emerged in 2008, heralding a new way of communicating value through software. The story of Bitcoin adoption started with it being a currency, but that was just the first application of blockchain technology. It became the first time in the human history that we were able to send valuable assets through a connected network without any third-party intervention. PAX Pago integrates Behavior Monitoring and EDR security technology for this purpose. The EDR security solution acts similar to a CCTV security camera, recording all the files, processes, network connections and relay activities on the endpoint without any loss. Conventional EDR products measure malicious code similarity of applications running on PCs or compares threat indexes that are pre-defined.

Private coins are very underestimated, in future their prices will be much higher than now. When people feel a need for
privacy, this coins will become more popular.
I believe that demand for privacy coins will start to rise very soon. It`s a way to stay anonymous and when people
get how to achieve that they will start to use this privacy coins.

I have no doubt that bitcoin will still remain the most sought after coins in 2019 because of it's massive following amongst traders. Although there are coins which is better than bitcoin, investors still rely and trust it because of the money you can make and it's not a just for pump-and-dump scheme, people uses bitcoin in there everyday life, at least in my case.

Based on what we experience last year, I would suggest choosing a well known altcoin that already proven theirselves in the market and have strong partnerships that will support them to survive or advertise their platform to produce more supporters. I'd rather choose an altcoin that is part of the top 100 in coinmarketcap with a price of below $1 like Ripple, Stellar, Cardano, IOTA, NEM, Onthology, Vchain and many more.

Don't forget to choose bitcoin as the main investment because bitcoin can be back to the higher price too. I like to invest in the low price coins as you mention and I still hold that coin except for onthology, and vchain. But later, if I agree with the price and the project has a good future, then I will consider to buy that coins too. But I think you should not forget with ethereum because this could be a good investment too like the other coins.

I think we should have more BTC now. because BTC always gets the trust of many investors and it is safe for investment. 2019 was a sensitive year and any altcoin could die at the present time. so we need to choose a big, cheap and will bring profit up to 500% in the next 3 years.BTC will be the first choice.

There are several completely different use cases for crypto. I would say that some of the strongest are smart contracts, faster payments and store of value. With that in mind I'd pick the strongest in each category to hold, so ETH, BTC, XRP... which happen also to be the top 3 in marketcap.

I say TRON and EOS will be the next big thing in the coming years. Its a real token, maybe not gonna be forked by anyone just as ETH. Forking is a real issue when it comes to making a coin valuable. These two are going to make it to the top one day making the ones above less valuable.

If we have to choose a digital currency then that is a pretty difficult thing, at this time there are lots of digitial currencies that experience very fast price fluctuations so the risk is very big.

To avoid risk, we can choose a coin that does have a good reputation, with a good rating in coinmarketcap then it can be used as a benchmark to be able to choose to invest in the coin. Ethereum, Bitcoin, XRP, EOS and Stellar are good coins. Choose coins that already have a large community, because with coins that have a large community, the coin can survive and have a stable price rate for a long period of time.

Bitcoin is still on the best cryptocurrency we should have in this year besides the other coins because once bitcoin start to rise, there are no other coins that can compete. So far, people know bitcoin as the main investment, and they would love to buy more and more bitcoin while the price is not too high. As long as you can choose the top ten coins list, I think it's profitable in the future, but we need to analyze the other coins too so we can find a new chance to get the other coins.

Their own blockchain, the super user-friendly desktop wallet or the first ever one-click masternodes are just astonishing. The successul test of atomic swaps or mobile wallet which will be released very soon give DIVI clear advantage and guarantees future success.

At present, I have EOS, seeing Eth and BTC as very potential. So I collect more coins to get BTC, and small coins like Dash, LTC, Stellar and Tether can also get for long-term investment, and see prices later. I think it will have a good advantage.

There are currently at least 1,200 different types of coins as listed on Coinmarketcap. Which one will prevail? Or rather, which group of coins will survive for the long term. What coin/token should you have now for the year 2019?

I would still prefer to have bitcoin and ethereum because I believe that these two has a bigger capability than any other coins. I would love to hold these two this year because it would strike higher and better this year based on some specualtions. Good things come to those who know what to hold.
Arguably both BTC and ETH are "obligations" that must be purchased, because of their great potential in the future. if you have
money left over you can buy other potential coins like XRP, Stellar, and so on
You're right with what you said about BTC and ETH because they are both legendary crypto currencies due to there positive impact in the previous market but I disagree with the statement you made about XRP because XRP is a centralized coin and we both know that every centralized coin could bring danger to the crypto community and new investors could be set as prey.

Only cause XRP is top 2 doesn´t mean i need to jump on the hypeTrain , if XRP really fakes the Volume it is obvious that the future will bring nothing good to the standard.

Anyway it will turn out, with such a "Dev Fee" the creator´s have already Won in getting the Money to a major part with the Tokens/Coins distributed and i don´t fill further there bags.

It is always good to keep as much possible cryptocurrencies in your portfolio during this time period. Everything has got a cyclic process, in this regard now we're facing a big downtrend in the market. Right now even the world economy isn't fair, so we're to experience a bull run at the earliest. When you have lots and lots of cryptocurrencies in your wallet automatically one or the other will grow profiting.

Collecting bitcoin will be a good choice for you because bitcoin will increase soon and if you can raise more than 1 bitcoin, you can make a lot of profit. I don't think that Dash, LTC is a small coin because when the price increase, it could increase higher and maybe reaching the last higher price again. Stellar is also a good choice, and I think you should add XRP too as your investment beside of the other coins and I see that this year will be a good time for altcoin to increase.

An interesting question is that now investors have become demanding not only to coins but also to themselves and sometimes their choice makes one wonder. Therefore, to each his own and for everyone here is really something to choose.

Only those who have already proven their ability to be on the market and no new token can do this in the current environment. In five years there will be other coins, but only those created at the very beginning will be in demand.

I will only hold those coins that I know it will survive if the market will not recover for six months which I think most of the altcoins will die or hit the bottom. The market has no assurance that this year will be a year for the bulls as we have no sign of progress which most of the investors have been waiting for it. Better to invest on those proven coins that we have than those new coins that has no real product.

the crypto market is now down, but I'm sure that won't last this year. there will be growth this year, although that won't happen on a large scale but I'm sure there will be growth. we really won't be able to see which coins will be the most popular this year, we can only see and predict.

Soory i Need to disagree.

a Few top10 Projects have proven that it isn´t a great measurement what is good/lastLong.

CoinmarketCap does Only provide Number´s which are to a part Faked to get people into Project´s ( not CMC fakes the Number´s )

anyway project´s turn out, the Question is if you just want to Dump on the all-time high or really Support a Project and grow with it as a Ecosystem.

1. ETH : We all know how powerfull this coin,  many popular and success project was started from here.
2. EOS : this a new comer based on ETH. but look at now. EOS become independent platform already and have their own ecosystem.

Maybe it could be true, but so far, CMC gives good information for many people, and if they want to invest in any of coins in that list, then they need to make a research for every coin so they can find which coins will give a short and long term profit. CMC provides information what is happening in the market right now, and it's our duty to research what we need and don't depends on the CMC info only because it could be wrong and it will guide to make a wrong decision.

From my original Quora post https://qr.ae/TUyPPw (https://qr.ae/TUyPPw)

Bitcoin (BTC)
The grandfather of cryptocurrencies, this is the coin you want to get the most of. Bitcoin is the flagship of cryptocurrencies. Yes, it was built over 10 years ago and the technology is showing its age. However, with technologies like the Lightning Network, for trading and speed, and RSK for smart contracts, a lot of these issues will go away.

Ripple (XRP)
Designed as a centralized transaction network to be used by banks for money transfers in much the same way as, SWIFT. Ripple is designed to be faster, more reliable and less volatile than other cryptocurrencies.

Ethereum (ETH)
A decentralized app provider - originally developed as a world computer. The goal was to get rid of the need for third-party companies like Apple to create apps. Apps developed on Ethereum are on a distributed public platform where miners can earn ETH to fuel the network.

Stellar (XLM)
Launched by Ripple co-founder Jed McCaleb in 2014, like Ripple, it is a transaction network for fast and efficient cross-border money transfers.

Litecoin (LTC)
Bitcoin’s little brother, litecoin resembles its older sibling in that it is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency, but faster transaction speeds. However, its mining process is more memory-intensive and its market cap is around 1/20th of the size of bitcoin.

EOS (EOS)
Created by cryptocurrency pioneer Dan Larimer. EOS is designed after ethereum, offering a platform on which developers can build decentralized applications. EOS offers a proof-of-stake mechanism which it hopes to be able to offer scalability beyond its competitors. EOS includes a complex system of rules to govern it, the network will ultimately be more democratic and decentralized than those of other cryptocurrencies.

Cardano (ADA)
Created by Ethereum co-founder Charles Hopkinson in 2015, it is the first peer-blockchain powered by scientists and academics. With the goal to run decentralized apps on the blockchain.

Dash (DASH)
Originally known as darkcoin, is a secretive version of bitcoin. Working on a mastercode network that makes transactions almost untraceable. In March 2015, ‘Darkcoin’ was rebranded to dash, which stands for “digital cash”. The rebranding didn't change the functionality of any of its technological features including DarkSend and InstantX.

Neo (NEO)
Originally called AntShares, the coin was later rebranded by creator Da Hongfei. It is the largest cryptocurrency which has emerged from China and is sometimes referred to a “Chinese Ethereum” because of its similar use of smart contracts. NEO’s success has been its support of programming in many existing languages, including Go, Java, C++, and others.

Nuls (NULS)
A blockchain 3.0 project, competing against platforms like ETH, EOS and NEO. It’s a modular, consensus based system that uses a unique ‘proof of credit’ staking system. Basically the nodes receive their own credit rating based on the credibility and consistency of their contribution to the network. It wouldn’t be surprising to see multiple industry partnerships based on its blockchain tech, especially since they’re based in Singapore, one of the financial capitals of Asia.

Divi (Divi)
Have you ever wanted crypto to be easy to use? The team believes that crypto needs good UX to make it to the next stage. Divi is creating a Smart Wallet that’s easy to use but also has more powerful features than a bank. Their new blockchain allows them to humanize financial experiences by hiding the “crypto” underneath a sweet user experience. The Smart Wallet removes all the pain points that currently prevent most people from getting excited about cryptocurrencies.

Sonm (SNM)
Standing for Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining. It’s a network capable of selling computing power in a decentralized, secure manner. By giving up unused computing power, sellers can earn SONM tokens by joining its peer-to-peer fog computing network. It supports the most programming languages, and aims to take on a wider range of development applications.n a wider range of development applications.

Only a few coins in general I know the potential, besides indeed the volume is also at the top of the coinmarketcap like btc, ethereum and xrp, and I hold one of the coins above, hopefully it can be profitable this year

in many ways, having some token in this crypto market can be more worthy in the future when the world is getting more advance than before, so our tokens can have the oppotunities to rise much more and bring us some profit in the future, we can buy some altcoins now like Ripple or top 10 altcoins as long as we dont use all the money in just one specific altcoin.
Its risky because not all projects can survive even not all projects experience good development in the market.
storing all tokens is just waste of money, use your funds for really profitable coins, like ETH or BTC it will be much better

From my original Quora post https://qr.ae/TUyPPw (https://qr.ae/TUyPPw)
~ snip

From your list, I don't know about the last three coins/tokens, and I never heard about that, maybe I will search more about the coins, and I hope I can found something good. And if that coins/tokens is good then I will decide to buy later.
Bitcoin is a must cryptocurrency we should have in 2019 and altcoin is another option for us to buy. But from your list, I agree that we can buy ethereum, ripple, litecoin and else because some of that list was an old coin that could give profit in the long-term.

Choosing selected coins that will really exist from any trend will be beneficial, you have to sort every project and assess deeper, as the market still
unstable and more fluctuations can change the path of any of those coins from each market movements, what you expect to happen can't be assure
you in many various ways.

Just take your pick from the top 10 and review everything, from community to potential target venue of success.

It will not become the future of crypto consider about you can't leave from the domination of centralized exchange site which makes your privacy coin will be useless consider about you must do verification for yourself to able trade your coin.

So we have 4 coins in the top priority we should have in 2019, and I think it's a great chance for us to make a bigger profit in the future. But don't forget that we have the other coins that can have a chance to increase. I think he needs to determine how much coins he wants to have and then he can decide how much money he can use to buy those coins. With doing that, I think he can calculate how much money he will need to spend and he can expect to make a lot of money later.

- Indeed, we have a lot of options at the present time when the value of altcoin in the crypto market is very low, everything still cannot come back completely after the collapse and strong influence of bitcoin, the market situation is like that but exactly as you say, we cannot be subjective in the choice, the risk is at the alert level. And to optimize safety and limit risk, we should choose potential altcoin, located high on cmc because potential altcoin always has a strong community and a strong development team, they are really the factors that help the recovery and return, choose them as a contract with high assurance and low risk

Well if you're looking for steadiness and are willing to go the long way, yeah probably the safest would the the top coins in cmc. Though i doubt that any of these will have significant movement this 2019. Btc, eth, ripple, bch and the others would likely take you beyond 2019 to make good profit. There won't be any massive pumps for these established coins anymore.

There are currently at least 1,200 different types of coins as listed on Coinmarketcap. Which one will prevail? Or rather, which group of coins will survive for the long term. What coin/token should you have now for the year 2019?
I don't know a lot more currency like that you are mentioned that 1,200 currency still remains holded by lots of people definitely they need to get there Rocket in this year otherwise the total market will definitely be collapse.

Maybe bitcoin will be the top of potential coins in this year as we know that bitcoin price was trying to increase slowly. But the altcoin can be a good choice if we want to spread to many coins. The top 10 coins in the marketcap will be a good option for you, but you need to pick at least 2 or 3 coins to hold and don't pick too many coins because this could make you confuse and difficult to watch and analyze. After the market was reset since the last year, I think this year will be a good time for cryptocurrency to start increasing.

Personally, I do believe that Bitcoin will continue to be the #1 cryptocurrency. No altcoin will ever even get closer to Bitcoin's price, so a situation were an altcoin will beat BTC is non-existant.

I do have high hopes for the coins below though and, personally, these 5 are the ones that should be in a long-term portfolio in my opinion:
  • Bitcoin
  • Ethereum
  • Ripple
  • Litecoin
  • TRON
  • Cardano

The only thing you need to look at is the volume of the coin. If the coin have a big volume it means that it have interest of the investor even if the coin is not that good it will gain value because is going to be pushed by big funds manager. Find those type of coins and then hold till they pumped. ETH, BTC, BAT, BNB, LTC, MKR this ones will survive.

ETH is the main alts in my portfolio that must be owned to date and is ready to be patient longer to see a high recovery.

I remember with exscudo and boscoin, it was the most successful ICO at the time (in 2016/2017 if I am not mistaken), especially boscoin sold in just a few minutes.
Many predict that these two projects will be good in the future, but until now there are no indication.
Do you have the most updated information from exscudo and boscoin?

For me, the altcoin is for gaining more bitcoin, the more I can get profit from altcoin, the more bitcoin I will have, and in the right time, I can sell my bitcoin at the very highest price.
I still hold so many altcoins in my wallet especially on the exchanges because sometimes, I do trading to make more bitcoin and I think it is the right time to make more bitcoin. While we still collecting or make more bitcoin from altcoin, we could save or invest in other coins so we can make a double or more income that will help us to make more money.

Top 10 coins/tokens in coinmarketcap will survive for sure, maybe all top 100 tokens too.

Actually all tokens that got listed on big exchange such binance, huobi and bittrex will survive for the long term. If there is no bad news like bitcoin SV then all is fine.

Investing in altcoin in the top 200 is still a smart choice. Because I think the decentralized market has a lot of risks, there are a lot of coins that are created for pumping and dumping value and there is no development orientation. so you should only invest in holding altcoins in the top 200. for example ICX, BIX, Enjin, ...

Personally i have a prospect coins which is good this is turlecoin, if you see this coin in a chart of coinmarketcap its trend increasingly more.

There are currently at least 1,200 different types of coins as listed on Coinmarketcap. Which one will prevail? Or rather, which group of coins will survive for the long term. What coin/token should you have now for the year 2019?
Top 10 coins/tokens in coinmarketcap will survive for sure, maybe all top 100 tokens too.

Don't forget that some already dead projects were in top 10 in the past.

I believe not just BNB but most of cryptocurrencies in top 20 coins are having huge team support and large community, that is the evidences show that they are good and worthy to invest for a long term than any other altcoins, and because they market is growing, we still have more chance to find a really potential altcoin that bring us profit in this market, my personal opinion is choosing an exchange coin like BNB because it still have the greatest exchange on the world supporing it.

You have to hold it longer because the market still has a greater possibility of being able to rise higher. stay patient and you will get a bigger profit. coins that you have like cardano and ethereum have a strong market, there will definitely be a bigger increase.

I think we should have more than 500000 Banano at Mercatox exchange. It is really a great coin and it is Meme coin. Dogecoin has also been criticized for being a bad project because their icon is a dog with a funny face.
For Banano, they have a strong team from NANO and are working hard to develop Banano. it is about to grow, let's consider it. ;)

As long as the coin is in the top marketcap then I will guarantee that the price will definitely skyrocket when bullish comes. but of course the percentage increase in each coin will be different, bitcoin may be able to have the highest increase like in 2017, or even other coins, its your job to anaylze that.

Stablecoins are a kind of cryptocurrencies which for 100% are provided with this or that traditional valuable asset. Unlike conventional cryptocurrencies, whose price is determined in many respects by abstract factors and therefore highly variable, stablecoins are completely bind to the value and rate of the asset that are provided, so they have a stable rate. The Anchor token is a stable financial ecosystem comprised of a stablecoin cryptocurrency and a non-flationary, algorithmic index. The index is based on the sustainable, upward trend of global economic growth measuring real world value using financial indicators such as the GDP of more than 190 countries, FX indicators of a basket of 16 currencies, and premium sovereign bond yields.

The Anchor Token’s tokenomics ecosystem is designed to be intrinsically stable with its algorithmic index called the Monetary Measurement Unit (MMU) and a safety-net of six stabilizing mechanisms, which includes a two-token, burn-mint model to ensure stability regardless of market recession, volatility, inflation, and other dynamic economic scenarios.

I agree that we need to invest only in an existing project to minimize the risks. You can consider this one http://gexan.io

A second hugely important aspect of Geco.one’s fusion of tested solutions is our token burning economy that sets a new trend in cryptocurrency (like Binance token burning economy). Every time the GEC token is used inside the platform, it will be permanently destroyed, lowering the number of Gecoins daily. This approach is intended to stimulate a steady growth in value for the GEC token. (BNB gained 37,000% in value in just over two years).

I think only ETH is a good investment in this market because the potential of this coin is very good and in the near future Vitalik will soon launch ETH 2.0. This will cause the ETH value to grow strongly during this time period so I recommend everyone to choose a long-term investment to earn the highest profit. My analysis is that ETH could reach $400 this year and we just need to be patient to get richer.

Bitcoin is still the must-have, obviously. It is more resistant to price drops than other coins, and it is also generally a Bitcoin surge that starts off any new bull market. Beyond that the coins obviously become more speculative as we go down the list in market cap order. I would say that ETH is another must have. It is a very strong project with huge potential.

No, token only use by project that need crowdfunding ,ICO ,IEO  and development is less compared to coins. Coins make thier project usable to users. Token can only be use in exchange and trade to other currency.

Bitcoin was still my preferred choice for this year of 2019 as the most leading crypto, that remained strong even though bearish market hinders everything on price increase as well as the demand. Second to that, I would have include ethereum as another asset following bitcoin's footsteps when it comes to profitable asset with the highest potential ever. Although it went our many challenges on most eth contract projects failing, still ethereum stayed strong and kicking.

depends of what tokens your talking about . i know many tokens that have other purpose aside from being a tradable asset   . example , you can use it  on a certain platform to buy physical items and that platform only accept that token alone because the platform is under the company of those token that you use . other one that i saw is that the token can be used as a kind of medium to get discounts during trading on a certain exchange  . the more token you hold the more discount you get  . and many more other use  ....

My choice will still be Bitcoin, BNB, NEM, XRP, and Ethereum since they are profitable even thou the market is crashing really hard. It's better to take advantage of the bear market while the prices are really low since we cannot buy them again if their value goes up once more.

And having tokens to hold are good for long term trading.

I was all out of altcoins before the BTC dip. But again I have taken position in altcoins because now the people will want to jump in altcoins which were in downtrend since BTC the started going up and now when BTC has corrected, an opportunity is lying there in altcoins.
My first pick is ETH. If you look at ETH right now, it is holding above $170 which is a good sign. But if it falls below $163, then there will be a bloodbath. But right now that is less likely the case and if you enter at $173 with a stop loss of $165, you're good to go. Price would go above $200.

I do believe, it is always safe to say that Bitcoin is one cryptocurrency that will always be beneficial to have in our possession irregardless of the market situation. As what i have seen over the past years, people from all walks of life, always tries their hardest just to acquire even a single piece of Bitcoin. People who've already known the severity of what owning a Bitcoin can do to their lives when that right time comes.
In addition, owning also Ethereum can be favorable too. It may not equaled the returns to that of Bitcoin now but who knows - given the potentials it possesses, we might see it spiral upwards eventually.

Bitcoin remains the first choice for our long-term investment assets, but there are some Altcoins in 2019 that I think can provide us with good profits. I chose Decoin coins (DTEP) as new coins but had the chance to become potential coins in the future. Now their prices are very low on the market so it is suitable for us to buy as a long-term investment.

Bitcoin is always nice to have, but i'm not sure with DTEP. The price crashed too much and the volume is under 500USD per day.
I think collecting top 10 or top 20 altcoins is nice rather than buy some new coins with bad team management

Indeed Bitcoin is always good to have, but it must be based on analysis as well.

In 2019, the largest growth was shown by relatively new tokens - Binance Coin, Holo, and Ravencoin. Bitcoin also added a lot, but it was in the 17th place of this rating, but anyhow, I guess, it must be number one when you choose cryptocurrencies to invest in as it is the most reliable crypto.

Ethereum and Cardano must be also taken into account when choosing what to invest in.

There were 1200 coins in the market at the time this post was written. the number of coins in the market is almost 3000 now. This information actually gives much insight into the cryptocurrency market. Different coins are emerging every day and most of them will be scam and disappear in the long term. The number of coins that are really permanent in the market is very small, but I think that certainly the most permanent coins on the market are bitcoin and ethereum.

You selected several good coins so you have a chance to multiply your capital, just remember that you need to be incredibly patient as the market is not in the best shape, especially altcoins, and it is possible the price will continue to go down for the foreseeable future, but if you can hold your coins for at least a few years then the chances that you get profits rise exponentially, of all the coins you picked the one I like the most besides bitcoin is ethereum since it is really undervalued.

Actually coinmarketcap listed a lot of coins survived from many years. In my portfolio exchanges based coin in the top place. Specially i focusing for BNB coin.
1. ETH- this one very old we are know that.
2. LTC- Another promising coin which are survived still.
3. BNB- It will be most growing exchange based coin.
4. HT- Potential coin i hope it will be strongly survive many years.
5. PPT- Enough old coin but i think still good stable.
6. KCS- It's a good liquidity product of KuCoin exchange.

You painted coins so beautifully, professionally enough. I think that newcomers will understand you and buy Ripple. Where are the new projects, why not make out the capitalization of these coins or liquidity?
yes, ripple is pretty good, and I guess we can add it to we have this year. now I only have ETH, BNB, and LTC in numbers not so large. maybe I will add a ripple because I think these four coins are assets that will probably be the fastest assets when the pumping of the future altcoin season occurs.

There are currently at least 1,200 different types of coins as listed on Coinmarketcap. Which one will prevail? Or rather, which group of coins will survive for the long term. What coin/token should you have now for the year 2019?
For me, I still have bitcon, ethereum and ripple in my wallet. I have those cryptocurrencies since 2017 which is the time where I started to invest in it. Maybe the strong one will be the last in the next generation and one of the strong are bitcoin and ethereum. Right now I have new invested cryptocurrencies which is the binance coin that now belong to the strong cryptocurrencies and I hope all the cryptocurrencies that I have mention will last forever.

I am holding DTEP as well, but it seems they are not doing well. The price of the sale was slightly below 1 USD per coin and now it is around 300 satoshi. I keep buying DTEP and believe that they will do much better in the future.

of course the first is bitcoin because the validity is undoubtedly, then you can choose altcoin which you think is popular, such as ETH, XRP, LTC and top ranking coins in CMC, I also recommend LINK because the increase in the past few months is very good maybe when bull Next start LINK can reach a new ATH.

Bitcoin is always my first choice for a long term holding. I am also investing and holding some other cryptocurrencies that have the potential to grow up in the future, like ETH, LTC, and BNB. I like diversifying my crypto portfolio, but I select carefully the coins before investing, because the actual market situation isn't encouraging to take big risks.

i'll hold ADA ETC and ZEC thru 2019 and 2020!
you want to know why?
because these are innovative projects with good people behind it and good development teams
and because they survived in most difficult times like the bear market , and the internal stories they had

I am still have old coin, like BTC, LTC, DOGE, ETH, ETC, BNB
Still holding it, because there is already known coin. There is still used in circulation of payment. So i will stand with them. I think that coin still exist in the future.
Especially for BNB, if people still use Binance, there is still opportunity.

Until this October 2019, I still had Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Monero and Dash.

snip...

Personally, I'm not sure about Ripple in the future, its price movements since the last Bullish (early January 2018) are very stable, almost not much different from the average Stablecoin...  IMO, for long-term investment, you should not put Ripple on the list.

Top coin you should have in 2019 should be BTC. If you must hold any Altcoin make sure its an altcoin with a working product.  Dont buy any Altcoin that is just based on whitepaper promises,  most from 2017 have not been able to execute any of the project they said they would in their whitepaper, as a result many have died off. To be safe inevst in altcoin that already have a working product with a real usecase

In my opinion, you should hold more than 65% of BTC in this market because this is the best way to ensure long-term profit and spend 35% on venture capital investments such as Altcoin or IEO because these are the 2 popular in this market. I think doing a research before investing is a must for you to participate in this market because a lot of scam projects still exist in the crypto market and if profitable, consider selling.

I don't care much about the potential of that project because after a long time the project will automatically disappear and that coin will tend to decrease more.

Also i have a lot of token that's too many to mention. I don't recommend buying and holding sh*tcoins since they are just use for pump and dump scheme.

Ripple has been a terrible investment for the last 4 years, while it is true that if you compare the performance of ripple against the dollar you would have gotten profits when you do the same with bitcoin you realize that you have been losing money if all of what you have been doing is holding your ripple, it could have been better to just hold your bitcoin, not only because of the greater profits but also because bitcoin is the only coin that I trust is going to be around many decades in the future.

NEM is not really optimistic one because of the latest news. The project has faced with difficulties this year and it is quite dangerous to keep it in the portfolio for the long term. I`m holding RavenCoin, today`s price is pretty low 0.031 so why not to buy even more ? I like the idea of transfering gold, fiat money and other crypto inside the RVN ecosystem. So my belief in futher growth of this active in 2019-20.

Personally, I think that in 2019 it is best to keep the following coins in your wallet - Bitcoin, ether and one to choose from LTC or BNB
