Facebook said it will block all ads on its platform that involve digitally encrypted currency, including bitcoin, in an effort to discourage advertisers from promoting ads that the company calls "financial products and services often associated with misleading and deceptive promotion" .

Facebook will work to understand which ads are deceptive or misleading, and gradually promote the policy. Facebook, including its other platforms, including Instagram, will not allow ads like "buy bitcoins with your retirement fund!"

Obviously! It is true Facebook is officially announced in the website. I think many companies are promoting the Facebook via but they don't spend any investment in social medias so Facebook should regulate the advertisement. It is draw back of Facebook campaign and many promotors are affected in this news. This is actual status in the crypto market.

I believe this is a attempt to dishonest the whole crypto currency that is taking over the different platforms. Mr. Mark seems to be jealous (I think) and do not like the idea of decentralised platform really.

Lately there has been launch of many social platforms which are based on the decentralised block chain but Facebook never liked the idea of it as its killing the market of the Facebook with the full fledge.

There is social, nexus and many more platforms which are crowdfunding based along with he premium services of crypto based tokens. Im sure they are getting feel for that and doing this all to protect the monopoly of Facebook.

Really? they are banning all advertisements regarding to cryptocurrencies yet they are planning to create their own cryptocurrency?

Although the advantage of this is to lessen the scam ICO from getting investors. As well as stop promoting HYIP programs. But this would be sad for those who have legit projects which gain support from facebook users.

I just hope they would get a better result for this.

So don't be surprised when your reposts will not be available for viewing, and you will receive a message that your record has been deleted because it was spam.

ohh thats why I dont see some bitcoin post in my fb account now..I think this is a bad Idea for us because facebook is used by many, this is the site having the largest numbers of netizens. Facebook can help a lot in promoting bitcoins to be known by many. There were many scammers in facebook and they use both facebook and bitcoin to scam but there were also some ads on facebook regarding bitcoins that can help us. I found this news soo sad.

Yes, it's true:

https://www.coindesk.com/facebook-banning-advertisements-bitcoin-icos/

"Social media giant Facebook has unveiled a new policy that bans advertisements involving bitcoin and initial coin offerings, among others"

And the reason is here:

"This policy is intentionally broad while we work to better detect deceptive and misleading advertising practices, and enforcement will begin to ramp up across our platforms including Facebook, Audience Network and Instagram," he wrote. "We will revisit this policy and how we enforce it as our signals improve."

This maybe the reason BTC dip today below 10k$.

According to facebook, they are just trying to protect their users,  because of too many ICO and there's no clear regulation about upcoming ICO.

"We want people to continue to discover and learn about new products and services through Facebook ads without fear of scams or deception. That said, there are many companies who are advertising binary options, ICOs and cryptocurrencies that are not currently operating in good faith." - Rob Leathern Facebook's Product Management Director.

This will really affect those who are in Facebook campaigns but its their way to protect their users. I really hope its just temporary.  :'(

I think that because of the uncertainty in too many ICOs and the existence of deceptive ingredients, Facebook has decided not to promote it at all, but it does not exclude Facebook's own intention to launch its own cryptocurrency.

It is true.  BuzzFeed News highlighted how some of these Facebook ads were peddled bitcoin-related disinformation and fake news touting cryptocurrency services and initial coin offerings (ICOs). "We want people to continue to discover and learn about new products and services through Facebook ads without fear of scams or deception," Robert Leathern, a Facebook product management director, said in a blog post company. "That said, there are many companies that are advertising binary options, ICOs and cryptocurrencies that are not currently operating in good faith.

Yes its true and i think the reasons was as they described it from this post. They need to work better to detect deceptive and misleading advertising practices, because there are lots of scamming ICOs and not to mention the falling behind ponzi ICOs Bitconnect which advertised everywhere. But i dont think its permanent as they say that they will revisit the policy, since they only wanted to protect their customer trust to what advertisement that has been spamming all the facebook wall.

Facebook simply wants to identify which ICO projects are fraudulent, so pushing the ads could face users' complaints.
And the regulatory policies of ICO are being implemented, and Facebook doesn't want to face the law.

Facebook implements a new policy that prohibits advertising about digital currency aka cryptocurrency appear on its social network. That is, no more ads that promote the use of bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, and the like that circulated on Facebook.

According to Facebook, cryptocurrency is nothing more than a financial product associated with misleading promotional practices. So, if allowed to advertise on its platform, Facebook means to share the things that are not true

If Facebook is going this route, then its they must have thought it through as a lot of people have used that avenue to scam people out of their resources. I have seen ads on Facebook, and I just know this is a scam adverts but what of people who don't know. A lot of Ponzi scheme is being advertised there with even a Facebook page to deceive people. The fall out from this will just be the ones that would be affected and the dent its causing to the image of bitcoin generally.

Facebook and instagram prohibit advertising of cryptocurrency and ICO. Facebook removes posts with advertising ICO.
As Bitcoin.com notes, Its users tend to be less sophisticated than those who frequent other social networks, and are easy prey for scammers, charlatans, and snake oil salesmen.

Ouch... I think that removing ads for a digitla good from a digital platform could hurt more than the usual rumors we see.
Earlier this year Zuckerberg said about crypto currencies that they 'take power from centralised systems and put it back into people's hands'.
When you look at it from the perspective of facebook, then they pass on the money they could earn through those advertisements.
That throws not a very shiny light on crypto.

I agree with this. Facebook is still showing ads about cryptocurrencies and other tips about trading and investing. It's a good source for bounty hunters or crypto hunter to find ICOs. Facebook will not ban it, why? Because they're earning because of it and it is the biggest news in the world.

This are the right words from it.

It happened lately where they were creating projects which really dont exist.
This people gets millions of dollars by just creating a fake team, whitepaper and just a website. All that with just a little capital but they will get ten fold afterwards.

Many people might have reported about this that is why Facebook already made the move.

I'm not that surprised. Facebook has been hit with many issues with its content lately. Most notably with "fake news" and the social media being used as propaganda. I think they're cutting off all possible liabilities and they might go back to their old style of post priorities right? The one where they would prioritize posts from friends and families rather than paid posts.

I am sure that the facebook company is considerate. Bitcoin will not be ban so easily. I am so sure that they will ban advertisements that is not necessary or not usefull for the viewers or ads that promotes nonsense for example,  join the ICO and sell your house for investment. They will sure ban ads like that but not all ads that promotes the crypto currency. Anyway facebook are earning because of the advertisements that they promote. If they will ban all advertisement they where they will get there funds? Facebook will just review all the ads.

Everyone is finding ways and means to embrace the crypto era in one way or another.

so it will not be prudent completely block crypto ads.

they should rather find a better approach to sieve out the good ads from the scummy ads.

Yeah its true, I've seen a news about this issue in my UC Browser's news section. Facebook really prohibited bitcoin, ICO's and other crypto currency advertisements. Facebook will no longer accepts an advertisement from any cryptocurrency. Maybe thats why I have received a message from Facebook the other day saying that my shared post(which is a advertisement of an ICO) Is considered as a spam or something. Maybe its because they banned crypto. This is a bad news for Facebook campaigns participants.

Also if anyone want to know exactly why Facebook banned crypto or you just dont believe it. Prove it to your self that its true. I already prepared the link to a news about this issue. https://www.google.com.ph/amp/s/www.theverge.com/platform/amp/2018/1/30/16951670/facebook-cryptocurrency-bitcoin-ico-deceptive-marketing-ban

If you are involved with crypto industry at least for previous 6 to 10 months and if you are a Facebook user too then you must have noticed the high number of ICO ads in your news feed. It was shown to my friends who have interest in Bitcoin but they don't have any idea about the same. Now, a couple of them actually invested in one ICO believing in growth promised to them in the ad and later that ICO turned out as a scam and they lost their investment. To avoid scammers from using FB business platform, FB decided to ban crypto ads. However, I am expecting moderated/rectified policy from them soon.

Is it true that facebook is banning all advertisements for cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin ? but why?

I believe this is a attempt to dishonest the whole crypto currency that is taking over the different platforms. Mr. Mark seems to be jealous (I think) and do not like the idea of decentralised platform really.

Lately there has been launch of many social platforms which are based on the decentralised block chain but Facebook never liked the idea of it as its killing the market of the Facebook with the full fledge.

There is social, nexus and many more platforms which are crowdfunding based along with he premium services of crypto based tokens. Im sure they are getting feel for that and doing this all to protect the monopoly of Facebook.

Sorry, Bro but I think your speculations are not true. If you only search the net you will find a lot of news about the subject. Let me quote one from CNBC.com...

Quote
Facebook announced a ban on advertisements for "binary options, initial coin offerings and cryptocurrency." The blanket decision is part of the social media giant's efforts to prohibit ads for financial products and services "that are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices."

So, there's no total ads ban because you can still see ads about crypto on Facebook. They only prohibit those ads that are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices.

I read an article that facebook banned bitcoin, ICO's and other crypto currencies advertisements but I still can see the advertisements of crypto currencies in my messenger. One of the reasons of facebook why did they banned it is to protect the identity of other user and to avoid being scammed and “frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices”. Yeah its true i think but it will not happen instantly it may take a couple of weeks or month to get vanished, mark zuckerberg is earning alot from this cyrptocurrency ads he is putting on facebook. There is still a 50/50 chance that mark will not ban it cause of huge part of income will be gone
actually this news has been 2 weeks ago and it has passed. I think the effect of facebook prohibiting the circulating of crypto ads is not very influential on cryptocurrency market. actually the losers are facebook because they do not get benefit from existing crypto ads. so the question for me is facebook do not get any loss of crypto ads are present on their site, but why they banned crypto ads?

Yes and they said they weren't going to support any crypto ad any more. Maybe this stemmed from the fact that the market crisis make them think the market is a bubble, but they have missed a major point. Crypto deals in trade just like the forex. It will be a regret later anyway.

The reversal of the ban on cryptocurrencies is very good news for the community. As for the ban on promiting ICOs, considering that they may run afoul of SEC regulations and given the high level of fraud in this area, you can't blame Facebook for taking this position.

Facebook will work to understand which ads are deceptive or misleading, and gradually promote the policy. Facebook, including its other platforms, including Instagram, will not allow ads like "buy bitcoins with your retirement fund!"

Definitely not a bad idea. People who think that bitcoin is illegal or a place where illegal activities can be done will decrease. Even when it is half true, it will avoid more scammers to join the industry. We could start enlightening people about bitcoin and how helpful it is.

I don't think that will happen, surely Facebook will also work wisely by choosing which platform adverts are misleading and which ones are actually true ads. this is where the wrong mindset just wants to get very lucky by cheating, different from a clear mindset like us who use Facebook to promote and advertise so that it gets a long-term profit. so they are the wrong mindset that must be destroyed.

Yes, it is true, it is true that the social networking site Facebook banned any bitcoin advertisements. Maybe sooner they will make a program or a bot that will delete messages or posts that contains any of the keywords with regards to bitcoin. I do not know the real reason behind it. Maybe he do not really favored the idea of a decentralized currency. What I am certain of is that it will definitely affect bitcoin. It will decrease the value of bitcoin because it will demote bitcoin. Knew example is in bounty campaigns where there is a social media campaign where we use Facebook and if that happens we cannot do it anymore.

First, Facebook has banned crypto currency ads, but now Facebook has allowed crypto currency ads. If Facebook prohibits crypto currency advertising, Facebook will lose a large portion of its income. This is because most Facebook users are crypto currency players so that if Facebook does not become a crypto currency partner, Facebook will be quiet.

I think Facebook does not strictly ban it, just ban the crypto investment related ones, like ICO.
In the past 2 months the ban had been reviewed and relaxed, It is just the ICO campaign that could have a struggle because of the level of scam perpetrated by the project teams. I understand that the social media is trying to protect themselves and investors. In a space with over 80% scam allegation, it is difficult for such media not to be concerned, and a lot of money is moved now on this space.

Through it, we can connect and communicate as easy as breathing air. I hope they won't banned cryptocurrency ads because it is the first thing that I looked for in a bounty and it is easy for some. They banned bitcoin related Ads. In the past, you could see bitcoin's images on fb, but not anymore. Even Google has banned bitcoin Ads. Added to that, I think you can post a topic about bitcoin and it will not get deleted. It is just for the Ads. And that does not make any sense. If you ban something, then you must ban anything related to it. The struggle that bitcoin is facing is beyond any expectation. They claim to have a freedom of speech, then they ban bitcoin. Logic!

I think its because to advertisement because the scammers are scattered and the people who have a legit projects get sad and disappointing because the project that they did think its fake because of scammers because facebook is a site having the largest numbers of netizen and can help lot of promoting bitcoins to be known by many.

Is it true that facebook is banning all advertisements for cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin ? but why?
Yes,Facebook has banned cryptocurrencies ads on their platform because as per them it violates their content marketing policies.Facebook is an attempt in order to protect the integrity of its advertising platform and also to provide an assurance and satisfaction to the users, that the platform they are relying on is completely safe to depend on and will never put them in difficult situations. We hoping that this will not affect to cryptocurreny.

I hope that this is not too long, FB should also realize that FB also uses electronic and internet to be able to draw. It should be able to be used for trading with bitcoin fees, the more days the bitcoin community is increasing as well as Facebook will not be left behind by its community.

Heads up, Facebook will now be reversing its ban against crypto ads, however they do not have their plans on making all crypto ads available, so this time they'll be very pick on the ICOs that will be advertising through FACEBOOK, and it is a good idea since some ICOs are really just useless and just shows meaningless advertisements on the social media platforms, so I think it is a good idea for Facebook to become very decisive.

Facebook said it will block all ads on its platform that involve digitally encrypted currency, including bitcoin, in an effort to discourage advertisers from promoting ads that the company calls "financial products and services often associated with misleading and deceptive promotion" .
I think Facebook has its own rules to protect users from digital money fraud or cryptocurrency. because not all Facebook users, especially those who advertise a coin, are deceiving. then Facebook must be more observant in deciding the ban.

The updated policy and prohibiting the advertisement of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies on the facebook social media is only a step to limit or eradicate deceptive and elusive adverts on the platform. It has no personal bias against cryptocurrency nor bitcoin. So it's quite understandable what they are trying to do. But basically, i think the idea and bright innovation of bitcoin isn't a thing to worry about. It has been proven over and over again that blockchain, if traded in the right manner and caution, will become the new thing in the economy boost, so let's just enjoy and welcome the new thing as it makes its way into the space.

Obviously! It is true Facebook is officially announced in the website. I think many companies are promoting the Facebook via but they don't spend any investment in social medias so Facebook should regulate the advertisement. It is draw back of Facebook campaign and many promotors are affected in this news. This is actual status in the crypto market.
But why facebook announced planning to explore in crypto currency platform? and i see still facebook promoting crypto advertisement.
Scam project easily promotion by facebook platform think of negative side.

Facebook will work to understand which ads are deceptive or misleading, and gradually promote the policy. Facebook, including its other platforms, including Instagram, will not allow ads like "buy bitcoins with your retirement fund!"
I do not think that all of these ads will be deleted by Facebook, because there are several advertisements that lead to fraud, there are some non-fraudulent advertisements, depending on permission requests from Facebook.

Actually, more to your point, Facebook has more than millions of users.

Specifically, it has 2.2 BILLION monthly active users.

Source:  https://www.statista.com/statistics/264810/number-of-monthly-active-facebook-users-worldwide/

It's crazy to think that a large part of the world's population uses a social media platform, but Facebook certainly is a global factor that is more than just a company with millions of users.

Is it true that facebook is banning all advertisements for cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin ? but why?

This is already concluded in which Facebook including Twitter will ban only those ICOs that will not past their criteria to ensure that the ICOs projects are not scam and of course one of the criteria is they need to pay for advertising or using their sites to promote their projects. Existing Altcoins are not included in the ban as long as they will pay the advertising services too so business as usual.

How could Facebook ban bitcoin, because I see Facebook also has an interest                             against the existence of advertisements regarding crypto or bitcoin. More and more  Crypto or Bitcoin ads via Facebook, it will be more profitable for Facebook. Bitcoin is very sustainable crypto currency and this is not theoretical or hypothetical as bitcoin has proved its worth by making its existence since more than a decade, has gone through many ups and downs in this decade, has faced many obstacles and now has made tremendous progress but still there are haters of bitcoin as I heard the news that Facebook has banned the crypto ads on its page and then luckily I heard the second news that after banning crypto ads, the valuation of stocks of Facebook has also decreased so this clearly signifies that the era of bitcoin has been started.
