Yes, panic selling is one of the reasons for not making a profit in Bitcoin. But that is the only small part of the mistake. People make this mistakes because they are not well aware of Bitcoin or how it works, are they were influenced by a false rumor (which is usually spread by media and other people). People should learn and research many things before investing in some kind of commodity or a cryptocurrency. Such as we should learn how to hold and wait how to read candle graph all this kind of little stuff can save you from false rumors. If you think you know something spread that knowledge to others and if you want some advice then always look for the experience of other people.

The media are leading most of the people in the world. People believe what you hear from your television shows. The TV is a stupid box. Nobody sells in a hurry. Everything will be alright. Panic feeling is the biggest enemy.

That's what others do, buying and buying some BTC and some coins while the price is dropping, since most people start to panic and don't want to lose more of their money, they try to sell what they have quickly, but they don't think about holding on and wait for best opportunity to release it on the market and have some big amount of money!

can u explain how altcoin gain its value when bitcoin is losing value , I think when bitcoin falls all other altcoin also falls. Correct me if I am wrong.

How did you assume/think that when the Bitcoin downtrend ends, the Altcoins will rise? As long as I know (by seeing the markets in different exchanges), Altcoin prices move with the price of Bitcoin. I have never seen an Altcoin going up when Bitcoin is down. If you watch exchanges regularly, the prices are mostly all red when Bitcoin is dropping, and they get yellow (or whatever color exchanges use for +%, I use Binance and they use yellow). So I don't think that point is even valid. Though it is true that people should not panic, but I don't recommend anyone holding their Altcoins when the price of Bitcoin is dropping with the hope of a rise as soon as the price of Bitcoin stops at a point.

Yes people are really disapointed when bitcoin down and heard very bad news from social media.Finally they sell their asset this panic tiime but they  donot want to know about crypto market.Last few days bitcoin down 7000$below but now bitcoin again pump so i think its best time buy crypto or hold asset and always try to share this news my friends and family

          last year the bitcoin value shoot up like anything with no signs of slowing down . I think the media has been a principality in play of factors that affect value of bitcoin. I sell immediately after FUD and then buy back later when FUD affects the market.
