$2k? That is a pretty big investment for someone just joining the crypto scene. I would recommend Ethereum and Cardano. Both are platform coins and both have huge room of growth in 2018.

Do some research on WAGERR and decide yourself. Masternodes will ensure there is always demand for these coins (think DASH), profits from betting will be burned so scarcity will drive up the value, and it's just launching the mainnet so it's all ready to go this year!

2000 dollar is really a good budget to invest and trade. you can choose a portfolio with 3 to 5 coins. here is my suggestion for you: 50% for BTC, 30% Stellars, 10% for CTR and 10% for INS

Don't gamble it with some of those coins that are low valued and also have low market cap however there are traders or investors that are also lucky enough to invest in the right low valued coin that gave them nice profit.

Today is a great day to start investing becase all coins are down. Most of them saw lowest they have been for for awhile. With $2000 you can make some nice profit because even if you buy 4 random coins now , they will be 2x, 3x at least when market starts recovering. I agree that it is essential and a good practice to split up and manage our trading bankroll and not just doing any all in trades for no real reasons. If I have free cash of $2000, i will not invest in crypto at the moment (due to the volatility), I'd rather wait until the 'deepenings' have ended.

It s up to you, of course, which coins to choose. But solid crypto (like btc, eth, xmr etc) with big capitalisation, i doubt that can be very profitable - x2-x3 is maximum.

Just check CMC top ranked coins and add some that you do not have or not enough. Those should be safe to hold long term.

Of course you need a very careful approach to the purchase of coins. New coins and ICO coins are not worth buying in such a market. Pay attention to the coins from the TOP 100. It would make more sense. ETH EOS  ADA XLM ICX QKC NEO ELA

Good to see that you have a much amount to invest . I think you can buy Eth ,Tron,Aion .Those coin has a great potentiality. I think u will get huge amount of profit  if you can hold it for long time.
