I suggest you to divide your money to five pieces. I have 5 options for it. The majority of my money is in these coins. These are EOS , NEO , ARN, EVX

I would avoid truncate because it was pumped too much. choose projects with low capitalizations but with high growth potential. I am following "genesis vision" and utrust.

The number of good potential coins are available in the market. But I suggest to monero, NEO and NEM these three coins are good growing cryptocurrency if you invest know it make huge profit in later so you should check this project and roadmap if you feel this is more convenient to you then invest in these coins or some other decent altcoins also right investment.

$2k? That is a pretty big investment for someone just joining the crypto scene. I would recommend Ethereum and Cardano. Both are platform coins and both have huge room of growth in 2018.
