Seriously speaking you can never know. Look at projects like Bitconnect or Comodo. Even if they have the greatest white papers and are promising you glory. They don't have any value in the real world. Unless they have a working product to show case. All those promises are nothing but ashes.

Most important thing is team and team’s works  in the past for the project scam or not. You can examine twitter account, website and whitepaper. You can understand scam project with these.

you can find out the scam ICO project by not giving them accurate whitepaper information and having an inexperienced team and no linkedin and no smart contract code source in github.

just investigate about that particular campaign. check their background, their platforms, investigate about the team who builds the project. and see who their partners was. see also their roadmap, and decide for yourself if you are satisfied with the informations you gather.

1- Easiest way to tell is the team: If the team members are respectable veterans in the space, then you can bet the project will fly even if for a short period of time after the ICO

2- Project itself: Most projects out there are vaporware. Read the whitepaper: First of all, you need to understand how blockchain works, then looking at the whitepaper see if the project idea would benefit from the blockchain technology, or if it is a new blockchain project, try to find out what will set them apart from other blockchain technology that already exist and are working great already

3- Best to invest in fields you understand. You're less likely to get scammed reading a whitepaper of a project in your field of expertise. Some of them can be technical, and you understanding the technical aspect of it, you will be able to tell if it is legit, or just a pile of fancy BS.

Good luck, and try not to get scammed!

Check out the quality of the project, usually, scam projects don't have the best quality. Most of the good ICO do not have bounty as well. Also look up the history of developers of the project you interested in.

In my way, I will find out if the team is real, and indeed they are working on this project or not, because there are some ico scam took the information on the linked. Next, I will find out if anyone has been angel investor for this project, as many listed investors show that the project is real (but not 100 percent sure).

For a super safe project you can see if the CEO or developer has done an interview on youtube therefore minimising the risk A public figure will ensure that the project will not suffer from an exit scam as he or she is there for everyone to see. Here is an example of a good project worth investing in (just a few cents right now!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcJGdSP8oN0 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcJGdSP8oN0)   https://yobit.net/en/trade/TLX/BTC (https://yobit.net/en/trade/TLX/BTC)

In order to distinguish scam project from real one I read carefully whitepaper and finf information about the team. The project should be represented by professionals in the IT field. It is also important to learn about the sponsors of the project, whether they are at all and who they are. It is worthwhile to see whether the project is presented on the exchange of currency. You can also search for feedback on the project, consult with those who are already involved.

Even if you have read everything about the project and it has not caused any negative reaction, this is not the reason that the project is not scammers and they will pay you. It happens that you participate in the project, then begin to change the rules, the calculation of payments last for months, find many reasons not to pay for the work done. Find out the scammers or not, only after they pay for your work.

You can never be sure but check their project, then team, then whitepaper, then max supply, then their airdrop and bounty program, then telegram, then if they answer questions quickly and trustable, then website, then ... in the end pray my friend.

Scammers are getting better in doing this, specially ICO. Even those who have a working business does not assure you that it will not be a scam or will take care of their investors. Look at cartaxi, it was promising, have a live business but seems they do not know how to take care their investors or hodler.

Hi, I think to understand a reliable project or not, you need to learn about it as much information as possible. Find out what the purpose of the project is, what it will be useful for society, to find out what kind of people are behind the project. If the creators promise a very large profit in a short time, then most likely they lie. If the organizers of the project insistently ask to invite their friends and acquaintances, then most likely they again lie.

Its really hard to find out whether a certain project is a scam or not, this is why its necessary for us to do a lot of research and study regarding the project and if possible examine everything, the founder, devs, the moderator and who will handle the bounty campaign before joining the ico, so that we can lessen the chance of becoming a victim of scam ico. I've been only joining well known campaign manager and so far I haven't been scammed yet.

This is not so difficult but not very easy:
  • read whitepaper
  • read smartcontract in the blockchain where the project starts
  • look up their team, search for these people in social networks and an alias of what they write
  • The search for people from the team in other ICO and the history of these projects
  • he study of activity in all channels of the project and what people write about them
  • We look at the advisors and how they are related to the founders, if not, then most likely the advisors are not even interested in the fact that they are participating in this ICO
  • Evaluation of the idea itself. presence of a smart contract and issued tokens. maximum openness of information

for now it's a bit harder to judge the ICO project Scam or not, because now there are so many ICO in circulation, but I share some tips to determine the ICO is a scam or not by looking at team, whitepapper, smart contract code source, linkedin profile, and make sure their ICO is registered at https://icobench.com/ because the ICO is there to provide more information and give a rating of success from the ICO.

1. Check roadmap and whitepaper.
2. Check the information of developer team.
3. Check website: Traffic, host, domain, visitors.
4. Check amount of member telegram, twitter, facebook.

I guess you'll find it tiring to read the whitepapers of every bounty, but it really does give a serious part to the project. You can also check the background and reputation of the bounty manager since they usually serves as the frontliners. Also, do a background check to the people involved to the said projects. There are a lot of ways to check, if you think it's suspicious I guess it's your instinct that is telling you to look for another project.

Unless the projects start being registered under government officials, its hard to know which project is a scam or ponzi scheme even after we do all the research and check team and whitepapers. To provide security against scam project and ICO’s, government of various countries must come up with a pre-registration rules for people launching a particular project, so that if they run away with people money, they can be caught and be legally charged and punished.

Hello, i am newbie and want to know how i could check projects if they are good or bad, is there ways to know about that?

1. Team members
You have to look through all of their team members. Start with their leader, founders, CEO, co-founders or whatever. Check all of their LinkedIn profiles, pictures, number of connected people, work experience. The person who are likely to succeed should have experience to lead a startup projects to success before. Any person with that kind of experience for more than 10 years is a good choices. Then you have to check their skills, an all-stars person should have at least 5 skills. Looks at how many people endorse their skills, if only few people endorsed, then it's suspicious and should be aware of. Check all their activities, how long they're active on LinkedIn, many scammers creating their profiles a few weeks or months before introducing their ICO project. Finally their profile should mention about the ICO project they're working on.

To me, team members are the most important factor to weight ICO. An ICO with world class or all-stars team has more chance to success. Because those people doesn't want their reputation to be tainted. They knows what they're doing and they'll work hard to make it.

2. Is their project help solve problems for many people?
If yes, then it's good. If no, then it's bad.
Sometime people doesn't have those problems at the moment but are more likely to have it in the near future. You'll have to weight your judgement whether it's gonna happen as they claimed or not.

3. Are they really need a new token/coin?
If they can use existing cryptocurrencies in their ecosystem then their token doesn't have much value. They're probably prepared many good reasons to convince people why they need a new token. You'll have to think for yourself whether it's reasonable or not.

4. How openness of the team?
You should be able to contact their team, asking questions, meet up with them. They should participates in big cryptocurrencies & blockchain conferences, appears on video interviews, youtube channel, etc.

I hope this can help you.
it's so hard to understand but thanks

The bitter truth is for you to get ready to be scammed for a couple of times before you're lucky to find the good one. But if you are lucky you will scale through. Previously, its just about making research on the developers, reading the whitepaper and getting a review about them but now, it may not work smoothly as usually. Though all the above still matters; after your research, if your gut still tells you to invest, then go for it.

Most of the time, as a newbie, it's hard to tell if the ICO project is good.
But you can search in gtihub whether they have the source code, this is very important, and then observe their telegram group number, if the number of groups is big, so most of the time don't need to worry about this problem

it's easy to figure out if a project is a scam or not for example a bounty camp first in the bounty manager itself first checks if it's a trusted manager or does not follow their team how much they invest in their project and most of all value of their coins if they are high or not then you just read their white peaper what the project's porpuse really is simple they just know if a project is a sam or not so you should know that it's not just a simple phrase for no matter what you earn.

It is hard to know the project that scam or legit in the beginning it's too noob to the scammer if they scamming people early because they can't earn too much. In other words, we can only know that the project is scam or legit in the late period of the ICO and that is what investors do because we need a lot of research before investing to secure the money.

you will get some idea about selection of bounty campaign.

Indications whether or not the project is good can be found in social media channels of the project, such as telegram and twitter among others.
Just browse thru comments and feedback of users or supporters before making decisions. Or you can check for the dev team, potential products,  visibility in social media, and read the whitepaper. Those are your best bet to identify a good project or not.

On how to know about scam, I can tell nobody knows but the scammers. you will only know that you got scammed by the end of the project and you didn't get paid.

It is hard to find out and prove that the project is scam. What I have do is to read on the announcement thread of the project because some of the participants shared what they are being notice on the project team. Sometimes the project is not scam but many hacker attacks the project and hack on their ICO process which make the other participant to be active and watchful on the project.

If you are a good reader then you will find that white paper can give a clue about the whole project and if you are just speedy investor who doesn't care about the white paper then you might end up hitting the scams all the time. The whitpaper is main source of information and way to represent the companies whole idea. To be honest people are so lazy now a days that they just make up the white paper and copy paste it. This sort of give us idea of bad projects. However this is common way and apart from this you can get to know more info by diving yourself into the project and making small investment at the initial stage. Later on you can see the raodamp and check out if everything is in line or not. That can give you some info too.

Hello, i am newbie and want to know how i could check projects if they are good or bad, is there ways to know about that?

That actually is one of the hardest questions to answer in this market. The fact is, even if a project may seem to be good, there are so many market changes and trends that could affect it as it goes on that may force it to go south even if it really has all the aspects to succeed. Now, I am not discouraging you mate, what I am saying here is you really need to be thorough with selecting the projects you would join, and you can use these factors as indicators. (1) Choose a project with a new concept or product to offer, people tend to support and gravitate to those projects that are new. (2) Check the background of the developers if they have a good plan moving forward, if they don't have any clear objective, then think twice. (3) Check on how the community supports and embraces the project, if it gets good remarks, then that could tell you they are up to something good.

Seriously speaking you can never know. Look at projects like Bitconnect or Comodo. Even if they have the greatest white papers and are promising you glory. They don't have any value in the real world. Unless they have a working product to show case. All those promises are nothing but ashes.

I agree. This is one of those "rhetorical" questions in this market that no one, even the seasoned and experienced ones can't answer. The truth is, there are so many things that could tell you if a project could be a legit one or not, if it can succeed or not; the problem, however, is the fact that the market changes so quickly, and it is so volatile that a hundred of different things can happen that could affect the project for better or worse. But, for me, the main guide to know if a project is a scam or not is the product and the developers' backgrounds, if they seem to present a legit and true blue project that has a chance to succeed in the market, then you can at least think that it has a fighting chance. But, on the other hand, if it's something that is old and the objective being a "make shift" one, then be doubtful of those kinds of projects.

Making such predictions and analysis is a hard nut to crack .  We can never actually come to know about a good project . The secret lies in the team . If the team has experiences and well named devs and managers there is a less risk of getting encountered by scams .
Moreover also study the websites and social media for that purpose , that would solve many queries about a project's genuinity . All scam projects makes some over the top fake promises of its price . So that might be a fair indication of a spam.

We need to carefully study the project itself
you can search some good feedback on their sites such telegram, twitter,  or on other websites, you will read some comments or feedback from the crowd, depending on your luck.

There are several things that cause SCAM in cryptocurrencies project. such as the unclear project, the purpose of fundraising done by developers and teams is not clear and seemed to hide. Usually this is clearly stated in the Whitepaper. and it is actually difficult to know which scam or no other inexperienced project in this world of cryptocurrencies and who can teach about all of this is your own experience. yeah you also know if there is a proverb says experience is the best teacher. so, you have to find a lots of information and and ask something about cryptocurrencies that you do not know in this forum.

Do you want to invest or participate in a company bounty? There are sites where you can follow the projects, where they put ratings,, etc. one of them is icodrops.com. Also, when selecting a project, you need to pay attention to the manager who leads the project and to his previous experience. This information is also available on the forum, just give it time.

There are some obvious signs: the organisation offering the ICO is not regulated by the appropriate financial authority, they fail to disclose the things that are mandatory in their jurisdiction, or even more basic stuff like the company address listed is fake (Google streetview is useful here) .
or better make a research on google on how to Avoid Scam ICO. its very important that you are knowledgeable on choosing Good ICO.

The truth is you will never know until it became scam. Even a project looks legit, it is still not sure if this are a reliable project. Many new ICO are just after the money of investors. Better buy if the coin is already in the exchange.

what kind of project do you mean, bounty program or airdrop?
if bounty, it is difficult to distinguish between a good bounty and a bad one, but obviously bounty is bad if it does not have a clear website and whitepapper.
if the airdrop, usually the bad airdrop, should share their twitter link, and ask our private key. if it's like that means it's a bad airdrop.

I'm sure I don't need to repeat what many above have already said...
According to statistics, about 90% of the coins are losing their value after the ICO.  That is why it is very important to filter out the bad ones from the good ones. Get a complete information about the product, team, work progress, future business plans and legal authority of ICO before investing. Just do you own research and don't rely on peoples opinions.

It's pretty simple to recognize scam now. First of all idea and project must be not too complicated and be promising, after that you should chek out team and advisors, do some researches about them and their work before. And of course you should ask your friend's opinions. Good luck to you.

Title: Re: How to know project scam or not?
Post by: Kkhoailang on March 13, 2018, 05:11:38 PM
you need to research alot for it

You never 100% know that some project is not scam but it is your obligation to spend time and conduct due diligence to make the best possible decision: read whitepaper, visit project web site and study all available materials, pay special attention to project team, use web search to check key facts and figures, etc. The more efforts you devote that, the more chance that you will not invest your money in some obvious fraud.

To check whether a project is a scam or not, firstly read the whitepaper that is released by the project team. See what utility and technology does the project have and what it plans to do in the future. Then check the background of the team working on that project and make sure that they are not anonymous. Secondly I would recommend you to invest just in those coins are projects that are in top 30 list on coin market cap. Also join telegram group and twitter page of the particular project or coin to get regular updates on their work and progress.

just investigate about that particular campaign. check their background, their platforms, investigate about the team who builds the project. and see who their partners was. see also their roadmap, and decide for yourself if you are satisfied with the informations you gather.
Indeed. Partnerships that a particular project or coin has must be taken into consideration and a background check must be run, to see if the partnerships really exists and that the companies they have partnerships are well known and legit. Many scam ICO’s and projects just fake about partnerships to gain people trust and increase their funding.

Roadmap also plays important role to verify if a project is scam or legit one. Also it must be checked if a coin or project has some particular utility in the real world application and blockchain.

from my previous experience, I can say it is hard to know scam project especially nowadays that scammers are playing wise and hard to get. reason for this is that some ICO will have good intention but in the long run, they decide to quit the project and everything turn to scam e.g. http://symmetry.fund/. however, some of few ways to know scam ICO include poorly written whitepaper with high plagiarism (use plagiarism checker for whitepaper). ICO website that makes their ETH address the centre of attraction(ETH address will be boldly displayed on the home page with the caption " send your contribution to this ETH address"). Incoherent roadmap. Fewer or none information about the team management (if a picture of team/teams is/are present use google image to search for the person on the internet). finally dont join ICO just because you see they have been listed numerously on ICO review website. some scammers also pay review site to get listed on their platform.

I agree. This market is just so unpredictable and volatile that, sometimes, even if developers really prepare for its launch and it was not really a scam at first, would turn out to be because of the impending failure that they might face. I am not defending them because it's totally out of the question to scam people; however, what I am saying is that failures in this market has become quite a normalcy that people see projects that are failing as scams. If you really want to be sure of the project you are joining just check everything about it, but if it still does not achieve its quota, then it's just how the market plays, unfortunately.

To identify a bad project or a good project, you need to invest time to analyze the whole project. such as staff, ideas, and founders and investors. As many celebrities are involved in the project, it is a potential project. If there are few participants and the founders are anonymous, you should be careful with those projects.

Just suggest to you all about what I read, try to research it carefully and find as much detail as possible about the project you want to choose, I think you can start by reading from the whitepaper project you are going to follow, usually a good project will gives you accurate descriptions and also has a team of experienced in this project.
Many look for existing information, it could be a way of reading and also consultation to friends who have ecperienced follow the project.

I think its hard to determine that project scam or not. What we can do is just minimizing our risk by research about their team and their whitepaper but its not guarantee its not a scam. But research on that project and finding information on social media can minimizing risk we can get scammed

We cannot predict at all 100% true if an ICO is scam project or not. However, we may indicate some:
1. Analyze the token supply and its allocation including the price. Analyze also the wallet transaction. Some scams may make the conditions very high and the transactions are limited to some wallet address.
2. The team of the developers is not clearly stated.
3. There is no clear explanation about the roadmap, token sale, whitepaper, and also the project product as in the web and whitepaper.
4. Analyze the community behind the project.

to check them frauds or not it is very difficult for us to check their social identity, their background and should often ask the more senior members because they will know less about it than fraud or not from their experience.

Yes you can identify a project if it's good or bad! The most important thing you must do is research. Read their whitepaper and examine the team behind it if their credible and experienced enough in this field :) i found a very good one and they're called DCC. They are so active in this community and gives updates about their milestones and activities they're doing. Sample of an update is this -> DCC Weekly Update (https://medium.com/p/f5658bfe5d97?source=user_profile---------25)

If you want to learn more about them, you can visit their website at http://dcc.finance/ or follow them on Twitter at https://twitter.com/DccOfficial2018

Goodluck to you!

of course there is a way to find out. but more so on the experience issues you have. I think experience is very important in the crypto industry.
you can start by analyzing each ico and comparing it with some ico that has been successful.

i think you must monitor all success ICO and learn their project. usually they have good team and advisors.
you can search for their advisors, if the advisors confirm they involved to that ICO, then it has a high possibility a legit ICO.

You can't hardly say if a project is a scam because there's a lot of people nowadays that are very expert in scamming.
Well my advice for you is to research more about the project , take time to read their white paper. Follow their social media if it was updated and if the team are real..

10 basic signs of electronic money fraud project evaluation
1. Projects tend to develop under the multi-level marketing model Often these projects will raise capital on attractive invitations like Bitkingdom: Just spend 10tr and you will be refunded in 3 months. If you add more members, you will get xx% of the money they invest in
2. ICO projects are not community based
3. Do not publish the list of founders and development team This is the trick of phishing projects so no one can track down their traces if they hug money and run away.
4. The virtual currency project does not have its own wallet or associated with the lesser-known purse Most do not have their own wallet but have to trade through reputable virtual currencies like Bitcoin, ETH, Zcash or cash.
5. Low account security system
6. Do not press releases and do not appear on the ICO project development pages
7. Do not publish source code, Public code is not public on the site is particularly prestigious Github.com
8. ICO projects show deceptive behavior only in certain countries.
9. Do not open public token sales, or coin not appear on the digital money buying site Parameters such as market capitalization, number of tokens issued, exchange rates, transaction volume. These are factors that need to be disclosed.
10. The scams of fraudulent ICO projects are not posted on such reputable platforms as Bittrex, Poloniex

We have discussed this thread many times and answer is same that look for the team behind project and their past work experience, read whitepaper of project, objective of the company and utility of token to public. But still many ICO have these factors but still they proove to be scam and you need your own knowledge and skill to make such judgements.

Generally speaking whitepapers, ideas, good marketing and even well known good names in the team are are not a guarantee. A good ICO should already have at least a working prototype what you can see in action or some working product what needs further investment to achieve well detailed realistic goals.

Its easy to know if it’s a scam , its hard to know that its not , that may seem contradictory at first but that is the truth and this is because that if you find even one reason for why it can fail then its better not to invest in that coin, but if you can not find any reason that means either you alone can't find one or it doesn’t exist.

It's actually impossible to know for sure if a project is scam or not, at best you can review based on the information you have, the tendency for a project to be scam or not. Some indication of a scam project could be the lack of transparency of the project team, when there's so much information hidden from the public, it could be a red flag. Another indicator is the promises they make, when the project gives assurance for unbelievable returns, its a red flag. Another indicator is when there's no structure in place, such as website, whitepaper, product or service to be offered. This could be a valid reason to be on the look out.

At the end of the day, we can just realize that the task is trick or genuine in the late time of the ICO and that is the thing that speculators do in light of the fact that we require a great deal of research before contributing to anchor the cash.

Scam ICO detection is quite difficult to identify especially as there are no specific regulations for ICOs in some countries like Nigeria. In United State of America ICOs regulation falls under the jurisdiction of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Respectively, in Europe and the United Arab Emirate, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority have released a guide on ICOs. However, the case is not the same for countries like Nigeria but investors need to know a scam ICO. The ways to easily detect scam are; if a promoter guarantees quick returns, if an opportunity sounds too nice to be true, or if you are pressured to act instantly, please beware of a scam ICO.

One way to know whether a project is fake is to check their team members. Scam ICOs team fail to identify themselves. They cover themselves with masks and telling people it's for security reasons but the fact is that they do not want their identities to be revealed because of their planned intentions. Secondly, have an in-depth knowledge about what the project is about, avoid joining projects that are similar to Ponzis.

Nope. You can identify if the project is legit or not during its mid-run, when its collecting more investors. There are people who have been volunteering on identifying scams in the community and each of those projects does have their own reviews so if a project attracts you, make sure that you are checking every part of it.
If the website is unprofessional then you can determine that and if the whitepaper is just plainly copy-pasted.

Yes that is one way to trace scammers, if the project is legit and has a good potential they will not do a copy paste materials, they will hire professionals to do their stuff for them another way is they are getting a fake profile on shutterstocks, I come to think that these scammers only want a few bucks so they do cheap set up.

I think you can understand that only from investors. Because big investment companies will not invest scams surely. Other than that you can not trust team section or whitepaper. Because maybe they gave huge money to good devs for writing good whitepapers or they can create fake team with fake linkedins etc.In my opinion investors are the best place for that.

Its our instinct to find it though and some basis is coming from the feedback of early investors. Some scam projects is very noticeable and pretty obvious of their reason why they created for a certain project but sometimes also it is really to detect until when project owners and the team won't show up in telegram and never answering queries.

Yes. Whitepaper is the heart of the project. Reading and researching a whitepaper is the first action taken by several bounty hunters in considering projects that will follow. Whether the project is legit or not depends on how one makes the whitepaper. Then, we can check their team. Check on Facebook or Link whether it's genuine or not.

The best option to check if the project is a scam or not is to know the team behind it. There are instances that the team being declared are not true and the information that they give is not also correct. The pictures were just from Google and it can be traced through reverse image search. When we found out that there are false team members, this is really a red flag for the project.

Please be careful of the ratings displayed on these websites. I think judgment is sometimes less accurate. There was once an ICO project with a high rating but it turned out to be a scam. The issue is, the rating can be adjusted if there is a payment. So, do more accurate analysis by monitoring white paper, teams, realistic products, and partnerships. I think it's more effective.

There are many factors to watch in order to select for a good project. One thing is their social media updates, of they are actively updating their social media then they are good, if they are also active and have a lot of true members in their community and most of all if they meet their soft capped on their PRE-SALE. I hope this can help.

Yes, this is indeed common to ask to find out whether a project is good or not, because the team involved must have a vital role as well as the purpose or benefit of the project, what is of course important and we must be smart in analyzing whether the project has good benefits for the future later

This team is indeed important for projects, because the team is also influential in carrying out its business. if the team has achieved good results, there is a possibility that the project will succeed. Knowledge of the background of the project is very important and find out more about the project and who follows, whether many or not many join. if only a few people join this project, you have to be more careful, maybe the project is unknown and can cheat. maybe a lot of other things can happen that are fraudulent projects but I don't understand that.

I've seen almost all kinds of them, there are projects that looks like really legit but they scam in the end, there are projects that obviously will run in the end and they did. We don't actually can't tell which will turn to scam or not, lets just don't invest the big part of our money on a single project so we can avoid big losses on one

Good projects usually have good managers who communicate constantly with investors, also innovate at least every month, making constant progress even if it's slow, bad projects usually don't communicate with the community at all and you can't find any real information about the development team or what the project is really about.

There are many new ICO projects now and some have fake projects. Scam projects are indeed a problem for all investors and bounty hunters. If they get a scam project, they will definitely suffer losses. And to avoid fraudulent projects is to do research. You must check social media accounts and the team must be active in providing new information.

No one is immune from mistakes. Many advise to be guided by the rating, but how many projects with high ratings were scam ?! Others advise to carefully study the information about the project - here I agree. There is one more factor that helps to determine the project - it is the bounty manager. There are professionals in their field, and if they take on the promotion of the project, it’s already 80% sure that the project is not fraudulent.

There many things that you must know before investing in a specific crypto. The feasibility of the platform being developed, the technical capability of the website and whitepaper, the integrity and authenticity of the team behind the project, and the community support the project offers to its users or supporters are some of the factors that should be presented. If a couple of this factors are missing, then be careful about investing in such a project.

There are many ways to decide any project if its scam or not. But you can never %100 sure that its not. We need to do our own research, check from linkedin profiles, trusted sites like BTT, and must check white paper very well.

You can actually knows a scam project when you are scammed so i think you should wait for that worse moment when you will get scammed.
Which means all projects are scam the ones you called real are those ones who actually got enough through their ico and think otherwise.

Hello, i am newbie and want to know how i could check projects if they are good or bad, is there ways to know about that?

I don't think there truly is a way to tell until it's over and it becomes obvious to all.

Smart scammers realize they have to go to great lengths to fool people and so some are.  The amount of money some of them steal is incredible, so it's no surprise there are many scammers out there.

Yes, it sucks to work hard or invest, follow and support a project just to watch it evaporate into thin air.  But such is the nature of the game at this point in time.

What is shows diligent crypto-enthusiasts is the only way to get ahead is to cast a wide net and trust your gut feelings as much as necessary.  I've been victimized by scams like everyone else on BTT.  Until you have been scammed, you can't really comment on the scene but must make judgments based on other's experiences.  Plus, until you've been scammed, you really have no idea what it is you are into until it happens.

Research, active involvement with projects, conversations with team members, and your gut feelings will take you a lot farther than you realize.

Folks are so used to a government edifice 'protecting' us from bad guys with regulation, that the crypto Universe becomes a true wild, wild west that most do not have the wherewithal to navigate successfully.  My number one piece of advise:  Listen to your guts!  They know more than you think.

It's one of the worst tasks. If you miss, you gonna miss your fund, lol.
I would definitely go through the team first and check how expert they are or whether they are fake or real. later I would research with the project carefully and find out the possibilty of being successful. Only then I would decide.

It is almost very difficult to distinguish which ICO scam and ICO are good, even ICO scams seem more like real, the best is to avoid projects with unclear teams, avoid ICO that promises big profits in an instant, I hope in the future there will be a program can analyze an ICO so that scam projects will be detected quickly

You can actually look at their platform itself you can see their raodmap too in their website. Youre the only one to decide if you trust that one. You can recognize the ICO if scam or not if you can think that their project is feasible to happen or to run peacefully. And also the upgades are good.

Base on my experience many icos are scams and also they are not successful and most of the ico's failed to reach its soft cap. That's why you should be picky when choosing a ico especially if your investment is huge because it would be a big loss to you if the ico failed and i dont pick the ones with the coins that are not that good enough to reach or to advertise their coins. And also, knowing the team of the ico you want to invest is the best thing you can do in order not to be scam at all.

For me, in the project you cannot predict or know that it is a scam or not because it has many weeks to make post for the bounty. After that it will have a pre-sale. After the pre-sale their is a token distribution. After that the manager will tell to the member if the project was successful or not. That is the time that we can say that it is a scam or not.

I think that for beginners it’s best to start with, you need to study successful ICOs - it should be understood that they had to succeed, But even after a thorough study of the project, there is no certainty that it will succeed. There is always the possibility of fraud, even in the work of a good and promising project.

To do this, you need to carefully study the specific project of ICO, information about the developers, development strategies and proposed technologies.

and don't forget to always pay attention to their activities on social media if they are never active and don't pay attention to the community so that is a nightmare.

One is by looking to its presence on their social media, if they are very active on updates on their social media account then it is a good project. If there are lots of members on their community and they are actively working on it regularly. Most of all if they are already reaching their softcapped on their PRE-SALE that is a good project then.

I think this would take a long process to reach that, cause even someone who already had experience could get trapped into a scam without realizing it.
So all i can say is that we need to be so much careful about any new project that appear in the market.

No one will give you exact instructions that will protect you from scam projects. All this comes with experience.

At least you can give an idea of how you are when you decide to take part with bounty campaign. After that he can thrive what you have explained, I guess everyone has the same concept when choosing a project but there will be found a different way to decide which project they deserve. You can see in the bounty campaign that is running now, if everyone has the same concept and the same way everyone will choose the same bounty campaign.

from my experience with ico scam, until now I don't know how to distinguish which ico will scam and where ico will succeed, from some ico scams that I join, almost all of them have good profiles on the ico site, from which I get learning that rating is not a determinant of success or failure of an ico, so you should do your own research about this that you want to join and if you want to participate in ico you should not only be based on the ico rating because ico has a good rating, not necessarily a ico that doesn't scam .

ICO fraud is indeed very difficult to know. But the thing we can do is prevent fraud projects. The thing I have to do is to follow their social media accounts. The team must be very active in providing information or responding to questions from participants. And if they are not active, it is better to look for other projects.

I also still have not been able to fully understand the scam and project will not. but research clearly could be the solution but inaccuracy in research also gives the bad impact. read the whitepaper and see the team is the thing that has always taught and others say. In addition see the originality of the project from investors looking at the wallet, too good to be done.

It's impossible to know exactly 100% because if they really want to scam you, they will prepare it very carefully. But in my experience, you should invest in projects that have a well-known team and have successful projects in the past, which will help you avoid phishing projects better.

Anonymous team members, giving unimaginable bonuses like 100% on buying tokens, promises like we will make your investment this much, our token will be valued this much at this time.

These are some according to my experience so far.

With so many scams, many ICOs are scams, don't invest in ICO projects to avoid many scams. If you want to invest in the cryptocurrency market, I suggest you buy mainstream coins. Learning coins can avoid many scams.

In fact, a very difficult question - after all, you can carry out large-scale work and thorough study of the project, but still make a mistake. Therefore, you need to distribute your investments in various promising projects, be sure to study the information about the development team, strategy and proposed technologies.

A good project will actively enumerate its advantages, such as whether the team has legal licenses in certain countries, they will clearly list the product innovation, use and membership!

I think the best solution would be to observe a qualified team of developers and their openness in the project and you yourself have to study the project and believe in its technology.

it's easy to figure out whether a project is a scam or not just need it to be a good review so you can not be misleading to see how much you earn to find out if it's your job or not.

Today's ICO fraudsters are getting smarter, they have white papers and team introductions, but these scams still don't have real addresses to prove the legitimacy of the project and the team office! So this will be the way you distinguish!
