I heard this site is now accepting payments thru cryptos and I was wondering if anyone ever tried it with them?  They have some good stuff on sale and I wanted to know if anyone tried it using crypto? https://www.peddler.com/

The site looks pretty legit and I searched up some reviews, most of them suggest that they are a legitimate business.

However, you never know what it's like dealing with a specific business until you actually deal with them. Same with this, even if it does look trustworthy, you should probably start by placing a small order with your credit card/paypal which you can charge back if something goes wrong or they dispatch fake goods, etc.

Then, place a small order in crypto. See if it goes through without hiccups. If everything goes well, then you can proceed to use crypto safely on the site.

Always good to hear about actual online businesses accepting crypto, btw.

Hey there!

I work for Peddler and can emphatically tell you we are a legit marketplace. We use clever tech (Ai) to bundle consumer demand for the products consumers actually want. Every product uploaded on Peddler was put their by a community member, or one of our partner communties. We invite accredited merchants to put up deals to an entire crowd of customers who effectively work together to drive down the price across borders (through bulk purchases) - we do this at incredible speed. We protect our customers with a 1 strike policy on merchants. And have never had a complaint we cannot resolve. Ultimately its in our interest this works for everyone involved.

@Magento that is really good advice! But could be costly (multiple purchases) in particular if you really just want a specific product. With crypto transactions (in particular bitcoin) they can take longer then we would like them too (we are working on this ;)). For now we set a limit of 15 minutes transaction time, as we are able to mitigate any price fluctuations for our merchant during that time. - Any late transactions or underpaid transactions are always refunded to the sender.

If there is anything we can do to alleviate any concerns we would be happy to help and feel free to ask any questions you might have about Peddler. I hope that helps!

Hope that helps!

Peddler Team

Never heard this site it looks legit, but I still not satisfied with the reviews if there are many high ranks or legit member here in the forum that could verify this site is legit maybe I can trust this site, but I tried to find this site here in the forum but nobody mention this site ever.

Date of when this domain bought and expiration date.

Registration Date:1996-02-18

Expiration Date:2023-02-19

Updated Date:2015-05-06

It looks like that this domain is used for a long time and before bitcoin made this site is running for a long time.
Around year 2002 this domain used as auto direct domain according to archive.org
And maybe there is a new owner of the domain who accepts bitcoin. So, for me, I still not safe to deal with this site.

For now we set a limit of 15 minutes transaction time, as we are able to mitigate any price fluctuations for our merchant during that time. - Any late transactions or underpaid transactions are always refunded to the sender.
Since this business accepting bitcoin you must understand that bitcoin is not stable, there are some customers that I heard that they bought the item online that accept bitcoin and rejected the payment after the price of bitcoin drop.

So hope that you are giving a fix bitcoin price because this is always customers wanted.

Seeing into that registration date it is quiet old and even bitcoin doesnt still exist into those years which we can presume that this domain is either being handled by a new owner or still the same.Even myself didnt hear out this site before after all these years ive been on cryptoworld for now i would still be keen or hesitant to engage with transactions on this one.Just like on the suggestion above if you can risk out to try with small amounts then you can do such thing just to prove out that they are really give a legit service.

Checking out recent feedback on the site they do have positive ones but i dont know if those feedbacks are legitimate ones or not. They dont have any announcement or appearance into this forum which supposedly they would do such thing since they are involve on bitcoin transactions. For now im still searching more informations about them but it isnt really convincing on my side.Seeing into those registration given it would really put me on worry.

It's a Dutch company. For such an old site (based on registration date anyway and some dated reviews), I'm surprised fewer people have heard enough to vouch for it. Their Twitter account's from Aug 2016, and there's no hating there that I can see so that's a good sign.

Also, they accept iDEAL as payment and you don't do that if you're not legit (buyer purchases are backed by Dutch banks using it).

They don't seem to have an ANN thread to verify here so I guess their crypto use isn't great. Edit: Seems like they only started accepting it this week!

Hi all,

Thanks for all your interest in Peddler.com & Crypto purchases. We are indeed a Dutch company (@buywaytress super accurate iDeal requires lots of due-diligence), our Merchants are all over the EU. And all of our reviews are legit and highly rated, as we work super hard as a team to keep it that way for our community. Our crowd buying platform is growing fast, we combine purchasing power (demand) of communities like Bitcoin Forum throughout the EU to get much lower pricing. We only started accepting Crypto 2 weeks ago, we had to put a lot in place to make it work with volume purchases (ANN on its way :).

We are extremely excited about crypto, and would be happy to hear from you what products you want to be able to buy as a community on Peddler? (you can post your product directly on Peddler.com). We are also very keen to hear what we can improve for your community. Feel free to let us know through this forum or

If you have any other questions reach out to us or get in touch here.

Thanks for all the feedback so far,

Look forward to hearing more from you,

Peddler Team

It is important to change the 15 minutes limit for verification of transaction to 30 minutes or better 1 hour. 15 minutes is a little joke and delay cause problems as you know! If you change this i will consider to pay with bitcoins.

Hey there, its something we are actively working on. As you probably know most of the supply chain within marketplaces and e-commerce is still legacy (i.e. its a cash/fiat business). One of the unique things we are doing is locking in the conversion rate to cash (fiat) for a period of 15 mins.  Therefor mitigating any price fluctuations which are compounded with bulk purchases.
The lock-in period provides us the ability to allow all of our merchants to take crypto currencies. As you pointed out the most difficult one is BTC with its slow transaction rate, however we do accept 14 other currencies. The team is working hard to train our algo's to be able to lock-in for 30 mins ++. But bear with us on this, we only just launched crypto and its good to get the communities feedback.

Thanks @ptiper21

We posted up an ANN on the forum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3293677.0

The site doesn't look like a cheap scam site that has been drawn up from an existing template.

The reviews aren't bad, and domain wasn't registered this year. Overall I think the chance of this being a scam is pretty low. It's definitely not promising too much either. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't be careful in your first trade, try with a small purchase first before moving onto larger ones. I would have expected to come up with more hits with a google search with "peddler reviews" as the keyword, however.

Jripper seems to be pretty knowledgeable, so if you see a good deal I'd say go for it.

Hello peddler team! I didn't realise you'd actually checked in here after my earlier comment last week. I note your point about legacy fiat systems, but if the merchants accepting crypto insist on a fiat conversion, then they lose out on the actual benefit of something like Bitcoin. They have to understand that the risk of devaluation is just as big as appreciation... So 15 mins or 1 hour confirmation time is really no big deal in the scheme of things.

I would also encourage true crypto adoption... Do away with the fiat conversion and integrate some form of escrow for crypto purchase on your site... Why not use crypto the way they were meant? Good luck.

@buwaytress,

We are extremely keen to encourage more crypto adoption, but as you probably know it takes time. Some of the merchants we work with are very corporate in that sense, and convincing them that we had a good interim solution is already a challenge. Can I ask what you mean with some form of escrow for crypto purchases?

I think he is talking about middleman that mostly use by seller and buyer here in the forum to increase the trust of your business.

We have a list of trusted escrow here in the forum if ever you need it in the future.

Check this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=276897.0 and this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439910.0

And the other way to trust your business is to promote your business with the signature campaign where you can escrow your funds for a campaign and promote your business here in the forum in order to get the trust of your buyers.

Interesting site. However, I don't understand why do you have prices in GBP if you're a Dutch company?

Nothing speaks to corporate senses like "opportunity" so good luck!

Escrow... just a means of protecting both buyer and seller by locking the funds or holding them until conditions are met (in your case, when goods have arrived to the buyer and buyer confirms product is as advertised). It's a feature that p2p Bitcoin platforms like Localbitcoins have used to great success, and if you're looking to implement crypto, introducing an escrow system that also facilitates dispute settlements could be a "game changer" among competitors.

I believe some payment processors that support Bitcoin offer escrow systems - Coinpayments, for example.

Not quite what I was suggesting but in the case above, Peddler could be that escrow. Not sure if Bitcoin smart contracts exist for trustless escrow, I know they do for some alts.

Hey DigitalFox we started in the UK market, as most of our existing community was in the UK, ergo most of the deals are up in GBP for the moment. That said we are rapidly expanding to merchants throughout the EU and the US in the not to distant future. You will see a lot of EUR offers coming online.

Thanks for the advice on this. We have looked at a number of crypto settlement solutions, including those that escrow.

Escrow in is something we are keen to include in our process. You are correct in that it would be difficult to realise true trustless smart-contracts for Bitcoin - but if someone is doing and have measurable success we are all ears!

We would like to facilitate the escrow or with a reputable partner, however we always consider that middlemen want a stake in the game - something we are keen to reduce as much as possible. We realise that for Peddler.com (besides regulatory - which we need & want to comply with in order to accept card/and various bank payments) it requires a certain amount of trust which we want to build up with the community, whilst implementing the feature suggestions you are all looking for.

Keep the advice coming, the team enjoys all your feedback, and its very much appreciated! Thanks again.

By no means I can speak for the whole community here, LOL ;) Anyway, I'd think GPUs would be quite popular, both from Nvidia and AMD. Anything in the range of 1060-1080Ti, for example. Also, cheap and reliable SSDs 60-480Gb, power supplies 800-1600W.

EVGA FTW3 and Zotac Amp Extreme I'd be definitely interested in, but again - I have no idea how much UK pound is and would have to go to another site to convert the price into understandable USD or, at least, Euro. And at given price it seems to be expensive.

Those prices were scraped by the member who posted the product on Peddler.

We will get our team to get deals posted in EUR or USD pricing and shipping, ultimately driving down the price through aggregating the demand.

Those prices were scraped by the member who posted the product on Peddler.

We will get our team to get deals posted in EUR or USD pricing and shipping, ultimately driving down the price through aggregating the demand.

I'd suggest you add a currency converter to the site, you can see how it works on computeruniverse. Very convenient.

We like that idea, Peddler does automatically localise store pricing based on the country selected.

Love the idea, and it's good to see jripper seems extremely knowledgeable on the subject. Always great when a legitimate business starts accepting cryptocurrencies.

So just to be clear on how this works, from the beginning (correct me if I'm wrong):
1) people vote on a product that they want
2) if enough people vote on it, then they get a deal from a supplier (is this guaranteed?)
3) everyone is able to purchase the item at the given price, but the more people join in the lower the price goes until it reaches the lowest price.

Makes sense to me, but there is nothing really shipped to the US yet, right?

Went through your FAQ but there does not any information regarding shipping.
Do you guys ship worldwire or there are restrictions on some items?
I also can't see what shipping options are available once we bought the item we wanted.

I must say it is a great concept, combining e-commerce with social media :)
Is Peddler only for physical product ? if possible I wanted to get Steam or Nintendo E-shop code added for my Video Game needs.

Hi guys! The shipping depends on the merchant and the products. If you let us know where you would like it shipped we can get the merchants to update, if you prefer to do this privately we recommend to contact us through Peddler.com

We have worked hard to get our first Graphics cards up available with Crypto (it currently ships free UK and EU):

My country are listed on my profile :)
I take it that these two cards comes from Newegg as your shipper, correct?
In that case unfortunately I have to pass these cards since I know for sure that Newegg don't ship to my Country.
Just a suggestion, It'd be better to put country restriction on each item to know where does it ship instead of contacting you manually, it save both the costumer and your Customer Support from unnecessary questions :)
Anyway, I'll be watching Peddler for a while, maybe something else caught my eye (Those wireless earphones are beautiful).

Hey! The cards are from our suppliers in the UK - not Newegg. We can have a look at your country and we would like to be able to ship world wide. One reason why we are decentralising all of our platform and AI algorithms to source products through crowds. Good luck with your ICO! And yes the headphones are cool!

I'm very interested in this one Jripper: https://www.peddler.com/product/asus-rog-strix-core-i7-7700hq-8gb-1tb-128gb-ssd-geforce-gtx-1050ti-4gb-15.6-inch-full-hd-gaming-laptop

Two questions:
Does it ship to Europe? And two, if I click "hold and wait" and enter my info, I only pay if the lowest price is reached? (is it automatic?) thanks

Hi Zoe, checked with the merchant and yes it ships throughout Europe. You can hold 'n wait with fiat and yes you only pay when the lowest price unlocks. And buy it now with Crypto for this product.

This is actually a really neat concept, it's just like group purchases to get the price down.
How do merchants find you website? Do you have any examples of successful campaigns where you get a very significant discount from a merchant?

Definitely have to look a bit more into this, might come in handy when I'm buying a new phone :)

Hey Most of the extremely popular products can drive 30% discounts from the merchants, as they tend to do a serious number of products each day. We use AI to target the merchants directly based on product demand - which is really neat!

In phones the S8 has been really popular with crowds unlocking it continuously in the UK: https://www.peddler.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s8-64-gb

With the crypto community it has been more gadgets, drones and graphics cards.

Looks like you guys have really been picking up on crypto-related hardware since I last checked in so well done I guess. Now I have a question, related to the upcoming Sirin Labs blockchain smartphone: are you guys getting in on any of the action for this? Finney's retailed at $999 and if not for that price tag, would be keen to satiate my own curiosity. 30% off market rates, you say? For that matter, any looks into blockchain-enabled smartphones for the near future? HTC and Huawei are already making Bitcoin wallets standard fare soon... not that I'm ready to trust their wallets.

Hi bitcointalk

We just put our first 3d printer up: https://www.peddler.com/product/makerbot-replicator-desktop-3d-printer for sale in crypto.

We have been selling a lot of non-tech products we didn't expect to in the crypto communties. Except for the last couple of days that is, but remain confident after a spring cleaning the crypto markets will pick up again. We are working on some extremely cool stable mechanics but more to come soon.

Peddler.
