Indeed it would be beneficial because in the age where everything is automatic, not only fo we want our food and money on an instant, companies on the other hand want a clear way of seeing how their business is doing especially in a company like samsung. A big market player like Samsung joining the Blockchain users is going to be great considering the influence it (Samsung) will have on Blockchain. I am very positive other big firms will join the blockchain very soon after realizing its benefits.

Sooner or later all the big players will join the blockchain, refusing to do it would be losing market, staying in the past. I think Japanese and Korean brands will be the first ones to join the blockchain, western companies will arrive later.

Yes, Samsung and even NASA is planning to utilize blockchain technology for their work! I think this will have positive impact for cryptocurrencies in general. In directly this will help Bitcoin price to Moon ( fingers crossed!!!)  Anyways blockchain as a technology is extremely valuable and more and more industries and sectors will utilized it in the coming years.

Samsung wouldn’t be one of the biggest conglomerates in the world if the people running it aren’t smart. They know a good thing when they see one.

It is true that Blockchain technology is very helpful and profitable for business people to help simplify their business transactions.

I don't think that we can call it riding. Blockchain is really useful specially protecting your company's data. And we all know that data is a very big assets and its like the backbone of all businesses around it.

So its logical for a company as big as Samsung to really take advantage of this technology. This is really one advantage of blockchain, data protection and can be share very quick if someone needs it in a hurry to make big business decisions. So I'm not surprise at all with this move coming from Samsung.

If Samsung is riding the blockchain train than this mean that bitcoin's technology is success and this will prove to that bitcoin is good for the technology world.

I believe this will be a good news for the cryptos as blockchain is the medium crypto is using and a prestigeous brand like samsung go into blockchain deifinitely will make more people aware of how the crypto works and their advantageous. Everybody will onboard the btc train sooner or later, even banks. No one smart will willingly miss the biggest wealth generation in history.

this is interesting but the more interesting and also relevant to bitcoin news is all the big companies that are starting to get involved with bitcoin one way or another. most of them are just adding bitcoin payment to their platforms but some like the computer hardware manufacturers such as Intel are starting to produce ASIC machines for mining which is so great for further decentralization of bitcoin.

in short everyone these days are getting involved with bitcoin and also blockchain technology in their own ways because they all see the potential in it.

People talk a lot of how archaic banks are, but I must say that the shipping industry is probably even worse. There are always a huge number of papers involved in each transaction (like clear payments, contracts, inventory, etc), so I'm sure the blockchain will make a huge difference for this business, and this move from Samsung doesn't surprise me. They are actually very committed to the blockchain, by first entering the asic industry, and will now actually use the blockchain technology to simplify their shipping department.

I know this is not directly related to bitcoin, but unlike banks, that keep trying to separate bitcoin from the blockchain, I think that every legit blockchain application legitimizes bitcoin, because in the end, BTC was the first application that open roads to all of these innovations.

It will be interesting to see how they implement the technology in their company structure. Samsung is quite an advanced company in the current technology market, I hope, after it, other companies will follow the same path.

I don't think that much is going to change about this. there will still be a lot of paper being involved in shipping industry even if they all switch to the blockchain technology. the process is always the same too, the tools are changing and this change which would be usage of blockchain technology can make it so much faster and secure.
although depending on whether it is a distributed ledger or a centralized database it can be a very different approach. I am very interested to see how blockchain technology is going to be implemented by other areas other than currencies.

Samsung made the right decision by showing to other companies the another possbile application of blockchain. I hope that the companies that will engage in using blockchain technology will use existing platforms so that to boost the industry and I believe that they will do it since it is much cheaper method than hiring a group of people yo do the coding, buying the equipments for mining and other maintenance of the network.

Well, that's very good news. Bitcoin brings changes to technological developments.  Samsung, as one of big company, want to adopt the technology that is applied in bitcoin. Of course , this is a very great technology competition. No doubt if blockchain is a successful and effective technology. Blockchain is able to build a peer to peer system without a central controller that controls the system. Hopefully, other companies are also more motivated to create more sophisticated technology again.

This only means that blockchain technology are currently exploring by developer savvy to maximize  its uses not only as payment system but also for tracking and inventory of stocks or shipments this can create accuate report for the status of shipment.

As someone said 'Blockchain is here to stay for long'  and all the story with such giant as Samsung is just another prove for that.
Unfortunately the success of Blockchain has nothing with Bitcoin and it is pretty possible that one day Bitcoin will leave us one day.

It's definitely great that a lot of companies including Samsung are hoping on the blockchain bandwagon.  The applications for blockchain are endless and i think it will become a the new standard in the upcoming years for the process of verification and the process of managing transaction data for any number of industries.

surely it won't affect bitcoin directly but there is also an indirect effect. when there is all this talk about blockchain technology and as all these new companies start adopting it, people will  start looking into it and the first thing they will always find is bitcoin since it is the start of all this. and eventually they will be educated about the technology and bitcoin, consequently they will choose the decentralized currency that started it all.

     I will say samsung were always support on blockchain technology, since before they are producing chips for bitcoin mining industry and now its a breakthrough project for their logistic team as monitoring all over the world, but honestly I can't imagine on how to relate or being usable this project for our cryptocurrency industry.

For bitcoin to be more valuable they need to add smart contracts if possible, Samsung is using blockchain technology and there are more companies trying to implement these in their business, but we need to find a way to use bitcoin along with the blockchain to have a strong base, i am not even sure whether it is possible now, bitcoin is here to stay.

Samsung is one of the leaders in almost everything, we have Samsung everywhere in our houses.

Samsung SDS, the IT arm of electronics giant Samsung, has announced the launch of its latest blockchain platform dubbed Nexfinance for financial institutions.

The new blockchain platform combines existing and new technologies including big data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and intelligence process automation to help companies in the financial sector in their digital transformation effort, Samsung SDS said.

In a statement, Samsung SDS vice president of financial business Yoo Hong-jun added:

“Samsung SDS is planning to launch its digital finance business through Nexfinance, a digital financial platform that combines proven technology and new technology.”

Nexfinance will offer services such as digital identity, financial concierge, automatic insurance payments and an AI virtual assistant, the company revealed. Nexfinance will also be ‘open’ for developers and clients to build third-party solutions atop the platform.

Its digital identity offering will specifically use blockchain-based identification to secure customer information and enable permissioned participants of the blockchain to safely access the data. As an asset management service, the financial concierge uses AI and big data analysis to help oversee assets better. The AI virtual assistant automates billing of customer insurance claims, making it a seamless, more-efficient process for customers, Samsung said.

“We have completed the design for Nexfinance aimed at the insurance industry and we will continue to put in efforts to innovate the digital finance industry,” Samsung SDS CEO Hong Won-pyo said during a press event in Seoul upon the launch of the new platform.

While details are scarce, the company also revealed it was carrying out a ‘co-certification’ blockchain project undertaken by the Korea Federation of Banks this year after establishing a blockchain-based user authentication system for Samsung Card, the conglomerate’s credit card company, last year.

Before Nexfinance, Samsung SDS launched its enterprise blockchain platform and cloud computing solution Nexledger in early 2017. In November, the company was chosen by the Seoul metropolitan government to develop a broad roadmap for the application of blockchain tech for the city’s entire municipal administration by the year 2022.
