Stellar supporters are claiming that the coin has potential to reach among the top 5. Today, in a maket sentiment of uncertainty haunting most of crypto Stellar still manages to rise 8% in USD value over the last 24 hours.

What do you think of XLM's potential?

It could be, but the question isn't so much of stellar's promise but as to what coin will be replaced in the top 5. Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple seem fairly nailed on, EOS seems to be going strong and if they deliver will likely challenge Ethereum for no 2 spot. The most obvious candidate is bitcoin cash but it still seems to have a lot of support in the market.

stellar is the 3rd coin in that i most trust at this moment, it is one of my favourite ones and i think that you can easily make a huge profit from it, we all know that it is the next ripple.
In fact, ripple dev's are stellar dev's too.

Top 5 in market cap? I think it is possible if many money has been poured in into XLM but the only question is why people will do it soon? Good price movements despite market's bad sentiment wouldn't fully encourage people to invest and buy XLM. It needs more good news for it to reach top , and it also needs to overtake eos, litecoin and cardano in market capitalization for it to have the 5th spot.

The stellar will affect the ripple in the first 5 digits of the spectrum. because I think the competition of similar coins in the first place will not be good for each other.

Stellar has done a long long way from re-branding and team re-org of Stellar Lumens to Stellar XLM. Since 2014, i started following this project before the airdrop mainstream, stellar is a freebie coin on some of the known crypto-related website faucets. It has a significant improvement from the new team when Stellar was reborn as XLM. There is no doubt this could be on the top 5 list beating Litecoin as its contender for the top 5.

Stellar has potential, but to be in the top 10 coins having potential is not enough.
While there are coins such as ETH, ripple (hate it but sorry unfortunately is a .hity usable project), OMG, EOS...

Getting in top 5 coins and staying there for extended period of time is not easy since there are so many contenders. Nevertheless, Stellar has good chances of staying in top  20 coins list.

I think it could happen but not in the near future, because the coins on it are BTC, ETH, XRP, BCH, LTC which is now occupied by EOS, I think stellar still need many good stories to occupy the top 5.

It was already part of the top 5 coins awhile back, if you look at coin market cap. The problem is that if it wants to get and stay there, they have to really bring something new that other crypto projects haven't already done. As it is, Stellar is a direct competitor of XRP and their technology is more or less the same. Why would anyone pick and invest the smaller fish when the big fish XRP is already swimming well?

Why do you think that it can not be on the top five? Stellar is a very good coin, they have a very promising project and i think that everything is looking more than positive, well, at least, for now.

Every coin cannot be in top 5 since the competition at top is intense. In any case, Stellar is a nice project so good to hold long term.

Since the beginning, I was convinced this potentially large enough coins. I still hold this coin since the beginning and is waiting for a big improvement. Indeed it's been promising. but the stellar can be much more than this.

Dan larimer is a part of the stellar team. It looks like it's a bit difficult to say but it will be still below EOS. As open payment system and stellar is worth more than EOS consider from its usefulness.
I guess don't expect a lot from stellar, this day it has been getting a pump but it will be back again soon.

Why do you think that it has much more potential to keep going up? stellar was a very good proejct before, i still like it's devs, but they are acting by a wrong way, in fact, even ripple is much more better than stellar at this moment.

In my opinion, it will be very hard for Stellar to get in the top 5 because we already have Ripple there and the top 5 coins right now have better technology,team and community than Stellar. I think Stellar will come back under NEO soon and the price is pumped right now.

possible will be a top 5 there, it depend on the volume on coinmarketcap and buy supporting. anything can happen.

It is not really hard for XLM(Stellar) to reach top 5 cryptocurrency in term of volume.
but it won't last long because something else will take over it,just like what ETH did a while ago.
a year or two years ago we could see ETH took the first place in term of volume surpassed Bitcoin,but it's only last for a day or two days.
so XLM(Stellar) has a chance to do that to,but it won't last forever.

Even litecoin is not in top5, why I mention litecoin because stellar is like litecoin beside ripple. But I think stellar can be in top10 in the future .

I don’t think stellar is going to be top 5 coins in the near future and within this year. It is possible but it should take a few years for this to happen.

I think stellar is one of the most promising coins of the cryptocurrency world. It ranked eighth among the top coins now, and I think it has a good chance to be in the top 5 in the future.

Stellar price is still undervalued although it rises back to 4500 sats. I'm expecting a price increase by the end of this month if BTC stays stable.

I believe Stellar (XLM/STR) is one of the most important coin the the coinmarketcap. It has some similarities with Ripple (XRP). Ripple (XRP) is in the 3rd place on coinmarketcap and Stellar (XLM/STR) is in the 8th place. But i believe Stellar (XLM/STR) is better than Ripple (XRP) coin. Therefore, I guess it will be in the top 5 soon.

Stellar is yet to be adopted by people for use.And it has a very huge potential of being used for solving real world problems.

AFAIK, many corporates(majorly banks) looking to implement blockchain technology are inclining towards stellar.Because compared with other coins it has a very scalable public decentralized blockchain.

The technology is good because it has a top notch dev team! The coin has a huge potential and once it gets adopted, no one can stop it from reaching the moon!

Stellar is perspective coin, but in top 5 is very high competition, so i don't think that we will see Stellar there in nearest future.

Stellar has big potential but there are better coins that should be in top5 so if there is not a hype in the future I don't think it can be in top5. But Stellar will increase too much in 2019.

I don't know about top 5 coin, but who knows. It is definitely an interesting project.
The coin is at 90k block. Big percentage POS will go until200k block is reached and then the rest after 200k block.
We need to wait for POS ending and see where it goes from there.

I can say it can be top 50-100 coin preferred, but perhaps due to votation and feedback on a certain site then only it can be top 5 on that specific site but on the general market? I don't think so as they say we have top ten coins and they are struggling also to maintain their position and ranking.

Could be,,, because xlm provide fast service in delivery currency and try to make wallet can also be used to swap coin / token,,, so wallet owner feel spoiled,,, no need to go out to look for xchanger. And that could be one of the reasons why xlm is getting popular.

Top 3 is really hard to brake, as Bitcoin is the traditional cryptocurrency, almost every cryptocurrency trades into BTC. Ethereum has created a platform for ICOs. Ripple is great at trensactions.
One of the last 2 out of the top 5 can be replaced with stellar.

stellar one altcoin which to me has a great potential to earn a profit. Although rarely taken into account, however, this coin is slowly rising gradually and increasingly showed the positive things.

Being in top 5 is difficult achievement, but I think it is not impossible. Stellar Lumens' biggest competitor Ripple XRP is stagnant for a while, maybe its bright days are gone because of competitions with XLM and WAN. If some marketcap of Ripple moves into Stellar, we can see it in top 5. Watch Wancoin at the same time.

To be the top five, stars need to work harder. Or you can borrow from EOS for a year to raise money. Maybe we can get into the top five.

Without a doubt, stellar is one of the most promising coins for today, and it will continue to grow quite rapidly for several years. I don't know if this altcoin will be able to get into the top 5, but definitely, this coin will get 6th or 7th place.

I do not think so. It seems to me that it is very difficult to get into the top 5 coins now. The cryptology has its own rules and traditions.

Nobody knows such things. In my opinion, there so many great projects in top50, that in half of the year any of them might be in top5. I think its nice and profitable to follow the hype, but it's important to be smart doing that.

Stellar has a lot going for it. There's two billion unbanked people and that's their main target.

It could be temporarily, but I don't think that it belongs there permanently.

Stellar's market cap is just over $8 billion for the moment, and the #5th ranked EOS has a market cap of over $15 billion. So for XLM to make a move to the top 5 coins, it needs double its price from the current prices. I simply don't see this working out over the long run, since imo Stellar has already been pumped quite hard over the last few months and there is very little more room for prices to grow, while EOS itself is probably going to continue to go up in the meanwhile as main net launch gets closer and closer.

Just think about it - which coin is Stellar going to replace in the top 5? ETH? BCH? EOS? XRP? Maybe BCH, but even BCH has triple the market cap of stellar.

the position in the coinmarketcap is change and stellar get number eight but it could possible for stellar to move into top five coin list but it needs more support from their fans. but ripple increase in the short-term and I think stellar will compete with ripple and cardano and meanwhile, tron and iota trying to join the competition too because they are in the top ten coin list. everything could be happening in the cryptocurrency and we cannot predict with correct and only waiting for the new list.

I don't know which coin Stellar wants to displace in the top 5, may be Ripple which I doubt because the team seems to be more committed to Ripple project than  Stellar. Sentiment is not a yard stick to justify the value of a token

Stellar still a dark horse to me actually. I really can't understand how it could be do that. There are a hard competition on the top. BTC, Ripple, ETH bitcoin cash, cardano , eos, litecoin... People can't wait when EOS will show their platform . The same with Cardano. It would be huge if it will works in the future, Litecoin still good, Banks love Ripple... So I can't see Stellar on top 5. It would be lucky if Stellar will be in 10th, cause I can't see any distinctive feature on Stellar platform. We'll see what happened but I don't think Stellar can beat someone from top 5.

Stellar is also one of my favorites and a solid investment. I'm kicking my self in the ass for not loading up on more of it when it was down to .18-.22 cents usd a few weeks ago. I definitely see it staying in the top 5 in the next year or 2.

I also see that the ripple coin is more potent than stellar. I also think that the current ripple price increase is higher than the stellar rate, and I hope the price of this ripple will continue to increase at the end of the year

Of course ripple is more better than stellar ever since before because ripple its obvious that ripple is more popular and has also a higher price when compared to stellar although stellar had also got a good comunity with lots of supporters just by basing on their forum ( mystellar.org ) but overall we wont know if the legacy of ripple will continue until the future or it will be replaced  and de throned by stellar lumens. I think its not possible anymore. No other can pass top 2 coins bitcoin, ethereum. Ripple is basically better than stellar lumens so it cannot pass it too. It can only and maybe pass bitcoin cash but even with that eos is better.

If XRP investors switch to XLM, it may surpass ETH, in any case, XLM for me is better than XRP which is centralized. XLM will become top 5 maybe this year, I have a good feeling about it.

Stellar is a good coin and it has a big community but I don't see it to go on top 5 coin, there are a lot better coin out there than stellar and they are still very cheap. But in the world of crypto everything is possible so lets just all see if stellar can make that far.

today stellar capitalizes around 8 billion. Mentgre the fifth capitalizes 15 billion. It is not impossible to make a x2 and then stellar can arrive in the first 5

Stellar can goes to top 5 if another coin down in value and stellar hold the price for it. I dont have any doubt about stellar blockchain but i am little bit scary if i saw the total supply for stellar..it is too much and i dpnt like such a coin with too much supply.

The problem is that the total supply of Stellar is very high and maybe the price will not rise up so much because of that. We always have to keep an eye on the Marketcap... But maybe it could also go up like ripple, their total supply is also very high!

Stellar is one of the best altcoin nowadays.  I really love stellar because I found stellar very quality and really good for long term position, I really love stellar because of the technology behind Stellar. The development team of Stellar is also quite good, I really admire it.

with the potential and the development of stellar who has owned is certainly not impossible these coins could be top five coins. However, other altcoins also do not want to lose. growing the coin is very interesting to see competition. of course, if the team was willing to work with the very loud then the coin will convey a request can have on the market and lifting its value.

We really don't know what could be the real outcome of this coin, even though it has a great development. Being listed to be on top 5 is what others have been doing so before they got there, they must face a lot of challenges like improving more about their usage and features.

Theres no doubt about the potential of stellar this is really great coin and deserves to be in top 5 ,but the problem is theres no updates from the developer and this is the reason that this good coin always leave behind..maybe in the future but for now,the top five coins are strongly holding each position and its been harder to took over

I followed this coin. and I follow the projects. In 2018, its could mention the name of the new projects it shared its own infrastructure. they have good names and supporters behind them.  ;)

I'm sure that Stellar will have strong growth and will raise its capitalization. I'm not sure that it will enter top 5, but definitely, it will be in the top 6, the first five coins are too strong, and it will be hard to squeeze them from the top; only if some unexpected things happen.
