Bitcoin is Scam. Short-lived CEO and co-founder of PayPal - Bill Harris has written his own opinion on cryptocurrency, Bitcoin. According to him, he claims that bitcoin is a fraud. He said it was an incredible pump and dump scheme, never seen or experienced in the world.

Whoever is saying the Bitcoin is a scam is a mad or nothing. But, is a better solution to PayPal. This is a fast transaction method worldwide. But, gradually it is synonym as a currency or the coin.

Ofcourse he will say that, Bitcoin is a straight competitor so he has to diss it.

Exactly.  He's threatened by something that he knows will make Paypal obsolete and I have no doubt he has a huge investment in Paypal.

They can think of "scam" by looking its current value but not the technology. Even so, PayPal is even a bigger scam. Their buyer & seller protection has scammed much more people, plus their outrageous fees. Anyway they are not the ones who to listen to.

A few things to look at,

1. When would PayPal ever be friendly of a competitor?
2. George Soros last year was saying Bitcoin is a bad investment, now he's come out and said he's investing, also JP CEO making negative comments last year while creating his own coin this year.

Every one has an agenda, since when did a wealthy person decide to make a comment which impacts the masses for no gain or to be a nice guy? it always comes back to interests with these types of people.

It's far harder to create a Bitcoin than it is to print a non backed fiat note, remember fiat only has value based on our belief that it does, this is no different to cryptocurrency, you can say governments back fiat but where has that got us? Centralised currency is garbage compared to what we're dealing with here.

I want to see how can they sell at least 5% of the shares of Paypal by the market price;) and after that we'll see who has the biggest bubble)

Bill Harris is scam person so we don't consider the PayPal CEO. Bitcoin is runs in successfully so he is said the negative feedback in 2 days ago. But no one is respond the PayPal CEO because it is worst platform and still Bitcoin is raise in the market so Bill Harris speech is waste of time. it can't be denied and i admit that in cryptocurrency there are many scam, because we are living in digital era where trust become the key of everything, we also have a group of pump and dump. It didn't come down as a surprise to me and I suppose same goes with every Bitcoin enthusiast as there's really nothing more to expect from the CEO of a competitor. That would be more or less like expecting a manager  at Pepsi, to sing the praises of Coca Cola!

yes, everyone can be free to give their opinion, but their opinion is also not necessarily true or false. it's just a matter of competition, where competitors seem to be annoyed with this bitcoin. calm down and we will see paypal users will leave and move to cryptocurrency ;D

That's actually a good sign when a ceo like that says it. It means he's so afraid of BTC and alts and blockchain taking over his centralied moneygrabbing business that he needs to bash it with his 'weight' in the world in order to keep it from thraetening his company.  Give it a year or 5-10 and nobody will be talking about paypal anymore.  Paypal will be the yahoo of these days.

This is what will be happened soon. People now are more interested in bitcoin rather than fiat. No matter what the CEO of Paypal saying, True bitcoiners know the truth about bitcoin, they believe in bitcoin and know how strong it is as i do. I am sure that Paypal will be defeated if it will be against bitcoin and in general crypto. I think that Campaigns who accept crypto will succeed in the future, I am sure about that.

Normal words to be heard to a company CEO towards into its competitor.He would definitely make such comments-negative ones rather than on praising it because he know that his company is really at risk when people do already have awareness on bitcoins true usage or benefits.He might say its a scam but we do know us bitcoin users on what is the truth.This is much better compared to Paypal when it comes to p2p transactions.

I don't think this news is official, because he's one among the people who praised bitcoin long back. Even he mentioned if he had came to know about such an innovation prior to PayPal he would have used the same technology on PayPal as well. Recently too he had plans of incorporating bitcoin transactions with PayPal.

i would say that too about the biggest competitor of my product , this is just like banks speaking against bitcoin. this guy has a lot to lose when/if crypto gains some traction , so he has all the reason to speak against crypto. i know that a lot of people are becoming sick of paypal and their practices.

Everyone is entitled to his own opinion and it doesn't mean that what he say is true. As a bitcoin and crypto enthusiast, I don't care whether a rich or wealthy person like him would spread rumors that bitcoin is a scam. It is clearly bias on his part since we all know that bitcoin as a cryptocurrency is a competitor of paypal.

Those rumors won't affect the bitcoin community that much since we all know what the technology can still offer in the future.

Currently I have not seen any sign of fraud in the BTC. So if there is a scam that will probably happen in the future now it is impossible to say that BTC is a scam, they are making a pretty high income for many people, so let's grab the chance if there is.

i say really? comming from them? just because as a trader we consider clean money when it passes through paypal doesn't mean there are no fraud moneys in your platform. You are really threatened to the existence fort BTC itself coz someday it will wipe the entire service provider industry like you which abuses ordinary people like us. Well, I don't think this kind of talks is legit. This is simply discouraging of BTC just make other people using Paypal. But it won't work anyway. Everyone knows, that bitcoin is far better way to transfer money rather that using paypal

This is pure fear. He is scared. Crypto will replace Paypal for sure. Paypal transaction costs are really high, a few percent per transaction iirc. Compare this with any of the fast low fee crypto options available, and it is clear that once crypto becomes mainstream it is the end of the line for high-fee services like Paypal. Paypal ceo said it because many business using bitcoin and does not used paypal anymore. I am paypal user and now i dont use it anymore because they are scam. They ever hold my fund for 180 days without reason amd they only said the fund is being investigated. After 180 days they release my fund and after that i wont use paypal anymore for selling goods or other thing.

That is so mean of him and he can babble all he wants to like we care. If it was that hurting for him to see bitcoin in the decline rather watching PayPal in loss, then he should have at least done some good and thorough research on the nature of digital market. This behavior is so childish from a CEO of world renowned service provider. Now his statement would be like, “BTC is essential for survival”.

Do you have any links? I think you must add any references because it is an accusation and what will you say may affect the reputation of the person you have pointed specially, you are accusing the CEO of Paypal.
Anyway, whether he said it or not, my trust in bitcoin did not lessen because I know it based on my perception and idea. I do not care about the speculation of others because they are just saying based  from what they thought and not really in fact.

It is obvious that most of the called elite will find it difficult to accept that the world is changing and power and wealth is about to switch, money is about to take a new dimension. They look at the price and not the technology and what is about to come.

I totally agree with this assessment. Paypal is a direct competitor for it also uses currency - fiat currency. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can also be sent to users worldwide so it also has the same mechanism and the same goal, to make people easy to transfer value within the internet.

Specially to those who do see that it is a big competition into its service they would normally have the negative impressions on the very first place on bitcoin.They do foresaw if this thing would go forward their company would be mainly affected yet people would really recognized that it would really be much better alternative than on Paypal itself which means it would really affect their revenues and now they are saying negative things which isnt really surprising at all.

He is the CEO of PayPal, what would you expect? If i was a CEO of PayPal or a Bank, i would say the same thing. But I would keep buying BTC or other cryptocurrencies as well. I am pretty sure that this view could be due to the fact of the major financial loss in PayPal because of the presence of Bitcoin in the market and their development over time in the value of price, market cap, volume and even their users which has become hugely high. In fact, all of this negatively affects on PayPal.

On the other hand, I see that many businessmen and CEO in the field of funds become afraid of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general, I think all these bad opinions do not affect On bitcoin, and it is certain that this new era of digital currency will develop in many ways and will be better than the previous.

Never expect anything different from the CEO of paypal because bitcoin is the biggest danger for their business model and so expect these kind of reviews from business models who are at danger of loosing their business share simply because of the new crypto craze and the ease at which you could send money world wide without fearing anyone to freeze our account.

This is exactly the case, we could hear these kind of outburst from bankers and financial sector SEO that are dumb struck because their business model is challenged and the world will move on from their business model simply because of the authority that bitcoin gives us, paypal has a history of freezing user accounts without any warning and now they are talking about bitcoin. ::)

I think this is a whale plot to reduce the exchange rate of the cryptocurrencies market. Can you give a link for everyone to see? Their business has been disrupted ever since Bitcoin was launched and hence they see it as a threat. Very often you would find CEOs bitching about the companies which can turn their profitable businesses into losses, and PayPal's Former CEO is no different.

I agree, Bitcoin is going to threaten their business. And in reality, it may not be Bitcoin but rather another faster and cheaper altcoin that will most likely displace PayPal. The two negatives with PayPal are the fees that they charge and having to trust a third party with your money. I’m not sure Bitcoin can solve the fee part of that flaw, but other cryptocurrencies should be able to.

Nevertheless, there is truth on what he said that bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general are prone to pump and dump because it is unregulated but one cannot just easily say it is scam just because of its nature at the moment.
