Bcash is not bitcoin. Never was, never will. It's an attempt by a band composed almost exclusively of frauds and scammers. Ver, Wu, Wright, Ayre, Andresen. Just off the top of my head.

To address the topic at hand, we need to take down this account. But through legitimate means, as in showing the follower base that the account does not represent bitcoin and is attempting to defraud people. Reporting the account to twitter will only take it down for a limited amount of time. It's a useless waste of time.

You are entitled to your opinion but for me it is never going to happen. When people realizes that the bitcoin (bch) they purchase was not the real bitcoin they will shift into bitcoin. The first thing they will notice is the value and the symbol. There are already people who have complain why is their btc (bch) much cheaper and why is the symbol different , after knowing the facts they convert to bitcoin.

Nope. That would be censorship. No one owns the Bitcoin brand, and the account was gotten legitimately. For as long as it's not violating Twitter rules and aren't breaking any laws (determined by a court of law, at least), it has every right to stay on Twitter. I hate the propaganda as much as anyone else, but I also understand that Twitter accounts shouldn't be shut down just because people disagree with it.

All we can do right now is fight the misinformation campaign it runs. I'd say it's working pretty well because just about everyone in the crypto scene knows it's a Bitcoin Cash account rather than a Bitcoin account lol.

I do not see the need for removing @bitcoin from twitter. It is a free world and the true shall prevail. Any serious investor should do his due diligent before investing .By so doing they are indirectly killing bitcoin cash  as when the investor get to know he did not buy the real bitcoin of course he will want to do away with it.

I think we can but in order to do it we need to force Twitter to take a look at the propaganda machine behind that twitter account and be forced to take some actions against it.
it is a tough thing to do though. we may need to start a petition campaign to force their hands. it may take a while and a lot of effort but it is something necessary that must be done. it may not be obvious to some people like Twitter team but this account is in fact scamming people.

I do agree that there shouldn't be censorship but although noone owns the brand it still may violate the terms of service.

I think that's your opinion. Bitcoin cash is an altcoin and will stay that way. Also, Bitcoin cash is easily manipulated. It is use a a way for easy money grab, a pump and dump coin where early investors always win. Regarding @Bitcoin, I don't think we can take that down. It's not violating any rules of twitter and he is the real owner of that account. It might have the name of Bitcoin but Bitcoin hasn't been legally taken so it means anyone can use its name. It's the sad truth but we can't do anything about it. Unless there's something that account had done to be taken down.

I would seriously love it to have it be erased, or at least donated to the one maintaining and operating the bitcoin.org site, but we have to accept and respect that we can't just have a Twitter handle erased or change owner just like that. If that would be the case, in the same way others could do the same to very important Twitter handles of other entities, and this is quite a dangerious and unethical way of operating.

We're living in a time where there are hundreds of impersonators of political figures, celebrities, businesses, etc. No one with a functioning brain will fall for it, and those who do fall for it will learn it the hard way. People just need to understand that not doing research leads to problems, and most of them will learn from their mistake later on. We can't spoon feed everyone with rules and tips on how to behave; people should do that themselves.

Bitcoin isn't a company or representing one entity; as long as people don't understand that, they'll keep being trolled. If @Bitcoin advertises BCash crap, then red flags should pop up instantly. If not, you're a nutter.

Considering how many people hate it and actually advocate reporting it, I'm going to guess they don't view it as impersonation. Where do you draw that line anyway? Does the account holder need to be pro BTC for them to have the "right" to own the account?

It was suspended and was rumored to have changed hands recently, but no one really knows what happened behind the scenes. Maybe Twitter really did rule it to be impersonating Bitcoin, but they reversed their decision anyway. It's going to take something big for them to shut it down.

You can never really tell with Twitter, they seem quite arbitrary in applying the impersonation rule. They have even banned parody accounts before that are obviously not the person they're making fun of. I think it is far easier to make the case that @Bitcoin is being used to fool people that it is an official account.

Its going to happen though its a gradual process because the person behind it is known to have shifted his loyalty which I even believe its an honourable thing to do without being forced to. If one is no longer believing in government, you resign your appointment and go home, you don't say because of that you want to form a parallel government that is treason of the highest order but in crypto, everything goes. More reason why there is need for regulation to force some level of sanity.

No need, at the end of the day one should do their research before investing in anything. So no need to cry wolf when you do without proper research.
If you've ever come across the site of bitcoin.com while researching on the past and you are a newbie you probably confused with the claim of the site that bitcoin is the bitcoin core then bitcoin cash is simply the bitcoin, rebranding by all means to confuse some rookies and newbies in the cryptocurrency when you visited the said site and who is the owner? none other than Roger Ver definitely something connects to the thoughts probably if you are going to check the website now, you the will see that label is no longer there.

wow, you are wrong, what reason makes you believe that BCH will take over bitcoin?
You should know that there is no world figure speculates for BCH, then BCH is also a bitcoin fraction and has no purpose in future.
volume and BCH deployment is very small and even the selling power in the market is very small too.
BCH has a great value just because of the first bitcoin split, so many people are interested in BCH. but BCH will not take over bitcoin.

The @Bitcoin twitter handle is doing big damage to potential new investors by scamming them into BCash. I have already made a thread about this issue here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3369820.msg35308628#msg35308628

And of course, I already had franky1 trying to explain how there's "Bitcoin Segwit" and "Bitcoin Cash" which is nonsense. No matter how many times you repeat it, they will think "Bitcoin Segwit" is an altcoin, when the altcoin is BCH, and BTC continues being the BTC that is has always been since day 1 on the same chain, now it just also accepts (optionally, you can ignore it if you don't like it) segwit format transactions. What's not to get about that, seems pretty simple to me.

Well I can understand you. This account is trying to misslead as many people as possible and pitch them to Bcash.
But many people are aware of this and trying to censor an account won't change what Roger Ver is doing. He probably bought this account some while ago.
This kind of attack is just making the real Bitcoin more resilient. People in this space need to face all kind of possible to learn as quick as possible and differentiate between right and wrong.
Furthermore follow the @btc twitter account and retweet as much as you can by the way.

Actually we can’t do that. It’s actually their own opinions. However what we can do as members of the community is we fight for ourselves. Show them what are we really gaining for. Show them that everyone will benefit from it. And lastly, show them that it’s a win win for everybody. Fight them with their own medium, social media.

here we go again yet another topic of the same nonsense that only desires centralisation
to the OP

replaace the word "bitcoin" with dollar

then replace the words
CORE with america
cash with canada
btc with USD
bch with CAD

and then run the scenario through your mind.
are you truly saying that only america should OWN the dollar. and that canada is fake/impersonating.

use a brand vs own a brand
the reality is NO ONE should own the dollar if they can show historic connection to the creator then they can rightfully use the dollar (british empire which then cvil wared/sought independance)

the reality is NO ONE should own the bitcoin if they can show historic connection to the creator then they can rightfully use the bitcoin (blockchain history back to satoshi's genesis block.)

both bitcoin cash and bitcoin core split away from historic consensus. avoiding concensus completly by doing a bilateral split . in short they both went in separate directions. so neither can claim ownership.
both can claim utility of the brand, but not ownership

so all arguments that one side is claiming ownership also apply to the other.. unless you want to admit that cores protocol rules should centralise the brand and give core more power as a monarchy.

ver owning bitcoin.com is the same hypocratic drama as theymos owning bitcoin.org
everything ver says about cash theymos says about core.
everything jgarzic says about making cash wuille says about core.
everything craig wright says about his early involvement. adam back says the same

if you look at who funded BLOQ to make bitcoin cash. and who funded blockstream to make segwit. you will se they ar the one and the same. dcg.co/portfolio/#b

its all one big kardashian drama of pushing people into 2 teams of kylie jenner vs khloe kardashian fanboyism. which outside of the box is just trying to get everyone to follow the kardashian family as a whol, like lost sheep.

if you dont see the rverse phsycology game ver is playing and you only see yourself wanting to defend and promote core as the centralist controller of "bitcoin" then you have already lost the big picture debate of decentralisation. and handed everything over to the puppet masters of centralising the ecosystem to one power house.
and so your only reply would be "goodbye decentralisation. hellow distributed ledger" (yep rsearch thir desire for distributed ledger(DLT))
dcentralisation vs distribution are two completely different concepts

oh and dont even try replying with a core defence hat on. you would have already lost the debate and just sound like a hypocrit

easiest solution.. use the "dollar" analogy

buyer: i want dollar
seller: is that USD or CAD

buyer: i want bitcoin
seller: is that btc or bch

by clarifying that bitcoin is not owned by one team and asking which one the person wants. ensures theres no issues

franky1 once again mixing terms. Your analogy of replacing BTC with USD and BCH with CAD or with America or Canada or whatever else just doesn't apply.

Bitcoin is still the same Bitcoin (BTC). BCash is an altcoin (BCH) working in an alternative blockchain, that doesn't follow the original chain's consensus rules, and 1MB is blocksize is part of that. The original client rejects BCash blocks for a reason.

Therefore, the twitter handle is misleading noobs into buying an altcoin claiming it's Bitcoin, and this is just a scam.

I agree. The only one that can remove this and get the account out of hands of Roger Ver is twitter itself. However, its going to be a long process. Maybe they need to suspend it again and see how this handle is being used. And if they found grounds to suspend and even perma ban it then good. But as of now, the only way to fight this is too inform who's the real Bitcoin here and who is the fake ones.

This is more like misrepresentation than anything else. One of the main reasons why people are backing Ver is because he

used perceived "Censorship" on this forum and on Reddit as a secret weapon to attract people to join his new forum. Just an

excuse to draw people to his site. {There was never censorship, they just blown it out of proportion to get people to leave

this site} Back then, Bitcoin XT {Alt coin} was promoted by people in Bitcoin sections on this forum and they pushed the

moderators to stop this from happening by moving their posts to the Alt coin section. Ver is not a idiot.. he used that in a

very clever move to his advantage. <getting people to migrate to his site>  Go to his site and promote Bitcoin <as a group>

and see what will happen.

It is hard for it to be removed on twitter since the vast types of cryptocurrencies had already influenced too many people on twitter. The only way that it could be fully removed is to permanently ban all tweets regarding cryptocurrencies and bitcoin. I think bitcoin cash will be real bitcoin in near future..I don't think BTC will hit $100000 but BCH will hit it definitely..what you think about that...just wait and watch the drama bitween BTC and BCH..... ;D ;D ;D

You should elaborate as to why you believe this!
It's a discussion forum!
I'd be very interested to hear why you believe Bitcoin Cash will overtake Bitcoin, and even reach $100,000 per coin.

Because Bitcoin Cash supports all the use cases that Blockstream/Core threw overboard in their insane Raspberry Pi fetish.

More utility leads to more use leads to more demand leads to greater price.

advertises bitcoin cash as the real bitcoin and calling bitcoin shit and bitcoin cash is the real bitcoin. calls bitcoin fans cult members seriously this twitter account is misleading new people to invest on the scam bitcoin cash instead of bitcoin.

how you could say bitcoin cash replace bitcoin in place in their space as number one position as king of altcoins, and can you give basis bitcoin cash is a real not bitcoin, removing to your twitter advertise bitcoin is depends on your decision because people have an freedom to choose what they like in life, I know in you rank herein forum you full of understanding about the importance of bitcoin in the crypto's world, but if you like to open your for the truth is up to you.

that is a false assumption, and the impact will affect the bitcoin electability. some people who believe that bitcoin cash is the original bitcoin, they often provide a negative paradigm for bitcoin.

but in the end, bitcoin will have a very good prospect in the future compared to bitcoin cash.

I think Bitcoin Cash is not a bitcoin. But the price of BCH including altcoin whose price already includes a high somewhat parallel with ethereum. There is a miss communication is thought bitcoin cash is not there when in reality there

You can report the twitter account by sending an appropriate email to the twitter administration. It usually takes 2-3 weeks before you can get a reply because they will check if the said account is violating any rules or rights.

massive report will do, but why we would do that, and bitcoin cash is not a scam tgere is a lot of investor of that coin , it will never became bitcoin because that is bitcoin cash nothing will change except prices, i have something to say to those people aiming too high in bitcoin cash or hoping too high, it was a risky moves what will happen when you buy it in high price and blow like a bubble like what happen in bitcoin but bitcoin still recovering and still running there is not the worst price bitcoin by the way.

I agree. There are a lot of people who get confused bitcoin cash with bitcoin. But, i don't think the advertisements of bitcoin will get removed anyhow. I would suggest people that before investing in crypto currency, judge it very well. Please know which coin is better than the others. Bitcoin is the most popular and worthy crypto coin to invest in. Don't mix it with any other coins like bcash and others.

unfortunately i seriously doubt that Twitter rules cover cases such as what @bitcoin account is doing which is basically misleading people into buying another cryptocurrency instead of another cryptocurrency (from their point of view bitcoin, bitcoin cash, other altcoins,... do not matter).

No, no one owns bitcoin as a "brand", and the account was got in a legal way. As long as you aren't breaking any rules it has the right to stay on twitter i  hate the propaganda they are doing about bitcoin but we normal people dont have power to do something about it

All we can do right now is to stay informed and be civilized and logical when arguing with people who know nothing about bitcoin

They tried to ban Bitcoin ads but as I have seen it, it is still there. Nobody can really stop people from spreading their good/bad news on Twitter about crpytocurrencies.

I do not feel the need to remove @bitcoin from twitter. It is used freely in the world. In order to invest, investor must first work hard. I think we can not do a lot about it, they do not do anything illegal on Twitter. So you do not make such decisions without proper research.

Look man everyone is entitled to there opinion, but you're going out on a big limb by thinking bitcoin cash will replace bitcoin (core as you like to call it).
GOOD LUCK with that one happening, there are plenty of other forums to spread your spam in.
